What are you currently crafting for your bjd? Vol.2

Jan 7, 2017

Tried making new eyeballs for Puny Pilot using the mold I made. A glitter mishap made one pupil look small compared to the other, but I'll try again :) These are good for now, kinda Bowie-esque!

    2. I made a Switch for my littlefee
      [IMG]

Far from perfect but leagues better than my first attempt lol

I was surprised she could hold it considering her hands are pretty open

    3. @FacelessPuppets i think the eyes look really cool!
@BashfulPersian the way you photographed her, it looks like she is actually holding it properly with her left hand

    4. This spine looking stick came from a flowering stem from a banana tree. We dried it out and as it isn't really strong so I'm slowly covering it in UV resin to give it some strength and shine. I'm making a wicked looking wizard staff.

It's taking a lot of patience and resin.

    5. Trying to make some SID size clothes for my new guy whilst he's away for his faceup. I am also going to start working on making my own hardcap wigs. I ordered some fibre at the weekend so I am excited to start. I just need to work out the best material for using as a base for the hardcap.

    6. does uv resin make it glow under black light, or just cure under uv?

    7. @BashfulPersian Great job omg I love your set up for your doll!

I’ve seen all sorts of materials for headcaps good luck with this adventure

    8. I decided to use this lock down to learn a new skill - woodworking, which I've always wanted to do! I cut out my first project, using my new mitre box & saw. I managed to glue it all together into an embroidery stand for my 6" kiddles!

    13. im not really good at english but i will try to explain the best :cheer

      What you need:
      - permanent marker pen (for the black lines)
      - eva rubber
      - elastic cord/thread
      - liquid silicone
      - hair iron or clothes iron (to shape the eva rubber to give a better finish!)

      All glued with silicone :XD:

      Step 1!

      Step 2!

      Step 3!

      Step 4!
then you draw the lines with the permanent maker in the F part :) and with elastic thread I made the laces sewing them with a big needle!
If you want you can print the brand labels you like the most to give it a more complete finish! :whee:

Soon i will try with fabric!

    28. Wooow this is amazing! Everything looks so good but let me compliment you on the shoes specifically. Shoes are hard!

    29. Incredible work, your attention to detail is impeccable! The color palette of this outfit is so pretty, makes me think of leaves in autumn.

    30. Thanks so much for your kind words @Gamine

Thank you very much @ittybittykittyz It always takes a lot of trial and error when making shoes at least for me it is.

    36. Shoes are among the things I don't know I'll ever make, so I salute all those who have the capacity to create their own footwear for dolls! :o

Here's yet another 100% ventilated wig take. I normally knot the hairs in the upwards direction from the hairline, but I decided to reverse it for this girl simply because it looks cuter on her that way. The character loves to dress and accessorize her hair (if she was living in the modern era, she will have a YouTube channel featuring a ton of hairstyling tutorials). I'd have to learn how to make clip-on hairpieces to be able to pull off her more bombastic hairstyles, but that's for another project.

    37. What a beautiful wig, your model is clearly enjoying her new hair! Her "scalp" looks so natural in the photos, you did a wonderful job. I especially love the braided crown hairstyle featured in the upper left and right corners of the photo collage, incredibly cute!

I made my girl Dot's wig and dress! I've been making a lot of dresses and, lately, wigs!

    40. OMG that is fantastic! What is it made out of?

    41. HOLY WOW! That's amazing! :o :aheartbea

    42. This looks so good, many congrats! How long did you work on it?

    43. Thank you! It is made of genuine leather with embossing and decorated with real fur.

      Thank you!

Thank you! It took me about two weeks to complete it.

    46. Currently working on wigs, first few attempts lol :)
Also have sketched some clothing designs and will see how they go

    47. Cute dress and wig!! I always love fabric with writing on it.

Oh my gosh! This armor is fantastic!

      Cute wig!

    48. Love how the wig turned out, you are incredibly talented

    49. @sparrk Thank you! :)
@darkPrincess23 Thanks so much! :D Good luck with your wigs, too! I found this one pretty easy, three panels, with the front bit (where the hairline of the forehead is) turned under and sewn so the front of the leather didn't show as a hard edge. I've tried some weft wigs, the hardest part imo is the hairline or top part.. i need more practice I think.

    50. Even easier is to get hold of a wood-burning tool--or you can use a hot nail held in pliers--you just need something hot enough to scorch the leather of the pelt. Then you run the hot tip along the very edge of the pelt that you want to turn under, and just like magic, the very edge of the pelt curls under all by itself.

    51. Wow, this is great advice!! Thank you so much, I'll definitely try this for my next mohair wig project!

    52. This isn't done yet, but I just tested my prototype for my LoongSoul ZhuZhao's yumi (a Japanese bow longer than a person is tall), and I am oh so happy with the results. You know the engineering of your doll and his jointed hands are SOMETHING if they manage to draw a bow and hold it indefinitely. Granted, the pose is still sloppy by real-life archery standards (and the yumi is still not the best-looking of bows), but at least I know he could actually pull it off!

    53. That is both an impressive bow and impressive posing!

    54. Making some new cakes. The basic shapes are styrofoam covered with drywall compound. Icing is thinned down drywall compound applied with a pastry tube. Sculpted details are polymer clay.

    55. Can't wait to see the peacock feathers on the cake with the naked bird. Who is having a birthday? If I remember correctly you have at least a bakers dozen of cakes. :)

    56. Some are for specific birthdays; BabySup Sena, Raccoon Monica, three Kaye Wiggs Minis, Rags the cat; and there's some just destined for the dessert table. I find it helps to start a bunch at the same time, since the layers of drywall compound each take a day to dry between sanding - so four days just for that. Once the basic forms are smooth and painted, I'll finish one or two at a time. Yesterday I finished the one with the little elephant, and today I tackle the peacock.

I also started prepping another set of cake forms because I realized one of the tiered cakes needed to be just single layers of the styrofoam. Plus I found a set of fancy little animal buttons that needed to go on a hexagonal cake, so figured I'd do that one too. I basically decided to use up the last bit of styrofoam I had. The first layer of drywall is on the last six forms, which will become another four cakes.
