What are you currently crafting for your bjd? Vol.2

Jan 7, 2017

    1. I'm working on different body chains. So far I got a few started. I like how they are turning out.

    2. I'm always working on various projects at the same time, always starting new ones before I finish the last ones!

This week I've started to learn/experiment with knitting SD doll socks, I've only recently learnt how to knit human sized socks so this should be an interesting challenge!

    3. Fun! I have only knit human size socks also and want to try making miniature socks some day.
I hope you have great success! I would love to see pics when you are done.
I am the same with multiple projects. I have 3 pair of shoes started, a frock coat and a lounge chair going right now

    4. I recently made some miniature poinsettias, by taking apart existing small poinsettia flowers, cutting them down by half, and putting them back together again...

    5. Wonderful Idea, they look beautiful and in scale.

    6. You guys should go check out the knitting thread, there are some seriously impressive projects to be seen
(and also SD sock knitting is super addictive. I'm having to restrain myself because my sister-in-law is due in March and I'm crazy behind in my baby knitting because I keep casting on doll socks. Man alive, not even born yet and already I'm a terrible aunt!)

    7. Oh I spent a long time last night reading through the knitting thread.. I'm blown away by the talent! I kept on forgetting that they were doll sized, a lot of it YOSD/Tiny, my mind kept assuming they were human scale due to the detail. I may never be able to knit a doll sweater with an amazing nature scene or patterns but I'll give it my best go, haha. Right now my challenge is socks :D

    8. Another musical project since my brain doesn't work at the moment. I added decorations to the guitar. This one belongs to KiYoung. Song got a brand new red Telecaster, lucky boy.

    9. New thread inauguration spam! I'm making a wig for DiM Lestia ... it's only half done, so have a preview in a hat :sweat

    10. Her "Bad Hair Day" shirt makes it for me. XD And also thank you for reminding me to get started on my girl's wig, since her body is one the way...

    11. Made leather shoes for my SOOM girl that match the sweater I knitted for her. used 3 types of leather, made tassels and used some "fur". More pics on Flickr

    12. I'm working on hair clips, resin charms and waiting for the rest of my supplies so I can start making more bracelets. I just ordered about half of the items I need to start making resin eyes. I just need to order the silicone mix for the mold and white resin for the bases.

    13. @Osaka, same here! That's why she's still in it. (And it fits her colour scheme too well not to :XD:)

    14. has anyone ever made scale size shawl pins? my first attempt (cutting down stick pins) didn't work as well as i'd hoped

    15. I found celtic cloak pins in a pretty appropriate scale for MSDs from The Crafty Celt.

    36. I'm currently working on a 1/3 scale model of the Farnsworth house and a kabuki stage. The house turned out a lot bigger than I wanted to house all of my dolls.

    37. O ,o I can't imagine actually making a 1/3 doll house! I wish I could and had the space for it! Pictures plz!! : )

    38. @smokergirl Wow! a whole house! I'm just working on my SD girls bedroom, and it takes up the space of a desk! Second vote for pictures!!

    39. I took a break from my more labor intensive wig project to make another wig for the guy whose fiber I stole for yet another doll (whew).

I'd never sewn a Suri alpaca pelt before, but I like using pelts because it results in a wig you can part wherever. It seemed like a good excuse to test it with my Impldoll Nicholas, as the fiber I had originally purchased for him drew attention to his green undertones (and it gives me an excuse--a very long time from now--to get another doll).

I think I like this better than Tibetan Mohair pelts, as the Tibetal Mohair is floofier.

    40. Thank you, the house was supposed to be only 5 ft. (152.4 cm) long by 4 ft. 121.92 cm.) deep by 4 ft. (121.92 cm) tall. But It turned out to be 12 ft. (365.76 cm) long by 4 ft (121.92 cm ) deep by 4 ft. (121.92 cm) tall. I'm so mad at myself, I can't take it upstairs to the unmentionables doll room as it's all plywood.

    41. I'm mainly a sock knitter and after considering it I'm not sure I could knit stuff so small. Sewing, however, is another matter all together.

    42. And I'm still in the process, need to paint and varnish my chair.
It's funny, but I'm not sure that it will fit the size of my Lili, because it has not come to me :)

    43. So many cool projects! I'm currently making a bunk bed for my on the way dolls. I made a project journal that I'll update later tonight! I'm pretty excited about the result!

    44. I'm finally getting around to finishing my Santa-Wizard mod, so made him all kinds of props - a scabbard for his letter opener sword, cloth 'magic' bag, and a staff out of a dowel with Apoxie details on the top....

    45. @MB Lilac - YOU are just a marvel! I love seeing everything you do and make. :D

    46. I agree!!! :O

    47. Wow @smokergirl ! That's amazing, post pics when you get a chance! How did it end up bigger than you wanted? I hate when that stuff happens :doh

@MB Lilac those props look amazing!

    48. Thanks! I'm working on finishing a Santa- Wizard figure I started quite some time ago. I figured I needed an 'old man' to play both some of the various Santa figures, plus a Wizard to go with my Fantasy crew, and turned a practice head into an old man using Aves Apoxie. He's a total hybrid, on an MSD body, but with some smaller SD-size hands, as the MSD ones were way too small. You can see what I'm doing here - Wizard - Santa - A Creative Journey

    49. @Laylin Love it! You must be very skilled with a saw.

      @MB Lilac As always, adorable.

I just finished the fireplace I built for my new diorama. Just need some stuff to put on the mantle, now.

    50. Very nice! What scale is it?
I'm always a little jealous of those of you who have the space to build props like that. Space/storage is such an issue in my apartment that all my props have to break down for easy storage when I'm not using them :sigh

      • x 1
    51. @Girrl Thank you, it's 1/3. I know... same problem here. I wish there was something like a minimizer spell for storage...

    52. Loved reading and seeing the progress of your Santa- Wizard figure!!!
