What are you currently crafting for your bjd? Vol.2

Jan 7, 2017

    1. I made a dragon companion (for realpuki size.) :) Sculpted out of polymer clay, painted with acrylic paints, dusted with pigment powder, and sealed. It has glass gems for eyes.

    2. @MB Lilac, your apples look like they could be marzipan! All your food looks realistic. Awesome props!

@LadyDove, that little bear is adorable! Such big sad eyes. And that tiny dragon companion is so cute and so LITTLE! โค๏ธ

@elfy016, your alchemists room is amazing. I love the wallpaper. When I first saw it, I knew those shelves were mushrooms... so cute! Howโ€™d you make them?

    3. Aww, thank you so much! :kitty2

    4. OMG that is adorable! How did you do that without going blind?

    5. Awww, thank you so much! :D I take lots of little breaks when Iโ€™m sculpting, so my eyes get a break from squinting. ;)

    6. I found out I can only make creepy ugly eyes but that's okay, I think.

    7. Not sure if it counts, but I've finally started assembling Lee's wheelchair ... of sorts, got all the pieces out and the instructions and all the extra stuff like paint and glue. Read the instructions about five times, put the whole thing together in my head thrice, and I may now have some idea what I'm doing.
Knowing the technical terms beforehand would probably have helped. :sweat Non-native-speaker problems ...

    8. I made tiny suitcases for my girl

Bigger one was first, but I thought it was a bit too big so I made a teenier one and I'm pretty happy with them both

    10. @BashfulPersian Now your doll has a matching luggage set! What a great prop!

    11. I love this matching luggage set, what a creative idea. Every well dressed doll must travel.

    12. I nearly cried from relief the moment I finished my LS ZhuZhao's fully ventilated wig, using a blend of two colors just to make it more natural. He has the largest cranium I ever made a wig for (SO FAR), and it felt like forever to accomplish. It's actually my second successful wig made using this method, so there's less trial-and-error involved.

    13. OMG @AntarelNefertili that is absolutely the most natural wig I have EVER seen! It looks like REAL HAIR.

    14. Thank you! I'm still learning though, and trying to find ways to improve the workflow. :)

Let me see, I began work on the wig October last year, on and off. I significantly cut back on wigmaking hours when the holidays arrived and I only resumed early this month, so it was completed in about three-four months. The other fully rooted wigs I've made also fall within that average.

    15. I am a cosplayer and have been making some practice bits to make my boy a Naruto outfit and just started planning on making him a Flynn Rider outfit so he can join me and cosplay too :)

    16. Wow!! No wonder you were so happy to have it done. :) Itโ€™s so worth it though.

    17. [IMG]

She looks very done with me  But I'm in the middle of sculpting a new resin aviator mask for my Elfdoll Amy using her extra OE faceplate as a guide. Just need this layer to cure so I can add the metal details and then hopefully start detailing and sanding :)

    18. Wow, get your guy some clear eyes. That is very realistic looking.

    19. Today I aimed at painting eyes again. Figured the one that required less effort looked better...

      • x 1
    20. Hahaha, definitely! Thank you so much it's been fun making them and some others.

    21. I thought this was an interesting contrast between what was a mere whim and the current progress on the Pub.

    22. Pretty sure those eyes are from hanging out in your awesome pub and all the shenanigans that crew of yours gets up to.

    23. Sounds like a more likely culprit than he was recently rescued from a deserted island. :thumbup

    24. Thank you! That's very helpful! I make so many of my own wig caps using glue, so they're too fitted to the head to accommodate magnets, but I do realize that's unusual for BJD owners who mostly have the stretchier types of wigs ^_^

Thank you for the help! I actually bought a 1/6 resinsoul girl with magnets on the outside of the head to use as a model for my horns! ^_^ And my handy glue gun helped me with my MSD dolls :D

    25. Those are so cute! I think my favorite is that little blue one on the far right. He looks very cozy.

    26. Thank you so much! :D

    27. These are just darling! Love all of them, but I'm most partial to the big red one and the little blue curled up one on the bottom right. All of them so sweet - amazing work! <3

    28. Thank you so very much! They are all made with an abundance of time and love. :D

Repotted one of my halloween plants because it's the perfect size for my Littlefee, made her a dozen eggs and some garden tools out of clay and a box of seed packets.

    30. I recently got a Little Radish from Mewie Fish, and I made him a little pair of loose overalls.
But I'm currently working on figuring out how to make him some leaves because in his make up he doesn't have any

    31. I've been working on this wig. Please ignore my background snacks. All I need now is to be able to go out for some hairspray.

    32. With everyone hoarding toilet paper these days, I wanted to make sure my kids didn't run out.....

Only two are real rolls made with paper towels. All the rest are cardboard tubes with cardboard circles with holes punched in the middle glued onto the ends, then sponge painted to look like the texture of toilet paper, and then given a printed label, and wrapped with plastic wrap.

    33. I made some too, but not as 'Charmin' as yours, lol!

    35. @El BJD - LOL My dolls aren't that picky, so will use any brand
@RemiBrokenwing - Thanks! With everything that's going on right now, I thought I'd do a 'toilet paper series', which meant I needed a whole lot of it.

    37. They look terrific, SteamWitch! What size is your girl's foot?

    38. She's has a 5cm foot so the index fingers worked well for her. I think I'll use the middle fingers to make shoes for my Granado Mini Napoleon he also has a 5cm foot but he has a very high arch.

    39. Well winter's almost gone, so I don't need my leather gloves, lol!

    41. Love the shoes steamwitch, nice use of tired gloves. Also the TP rolls made me laugh. My printer ink is gone or I would be tempted to hoard some for my dolls as well.

    42. That is so clever to use a glove to make shoes! They turned out nicely!

    43. Thank you, I'm hoping to make Kensett's shoes next, once I get another project out of the way.

and saw off the unnecessary wood. ^^

    47. you should start a project journal in the workshop forum, i would love to see how this progresses. making room boxes for each size is a dream of mine and i love to see how other people build them!

    48. thank you I never thought about to make such a journal in english, but maybe I will give it a try. ^^

    49. A couple years ago my dad and I made a bed out of a rocking bed for a baby doll. I think this year I'll finally get around to making a mattress, blankets and pillows! :sumomo:

    50. if you do please let us know here so i can follow you :)

    51. Okay I tried to make one here in the forum ^^ It's kind of hard to write it all in english. XD

    52. I decided to use this lock down to learn a new skill - woodworking, which I've always wanted to do! This rookie just cut out her first project, using my new mini mitre saw. Let's hope I can glue it together as easily and it becomes an embroidery stand! Madlen, my DHS House Elf Willie, is testing the embroidery frame for size before I glue the rest together.

    53. Ooo! Mini mitre saw! Not going to lie, I'm a little jelly (I absolutely can not get a mitre saw in a tiny apartment with wall to wall carpet and super thin walls, But I Wants One) New project looks great so far!

    54. It's a manual mitre saw, about 5' long. It also came with the razor saw. Me n power equipment = big NO! LMK and I'll send you the link.
