Warning: Exact copy of the Volks/BabySSB Dresses

All wig companies tend to have the same hairstyles, so I really wouldn't worry about wigs when it comes to copying, since there would be so much finger pointing everyone's doll would just be bald.

 

Can't people be more creative?

 

They offer it in pink and blue, same alternate colour scheme as the original dress.


They've yet to copy the black and white ones though, they seem to have an ugly lavender and yellow...bleh.

 

Well the one does bear a resemblance to the Captain Cecile wig, but I don't think it's something worth getting upset over since anyone can just tie up a wig with bangs on their own.

 

If people are going to point fingers about wig copying, Leeke had that style long before Cotin.

Getting into ethics on a place such as the internet, imho, is kind of just asking for a fight.

However, it is a VERY well-known fact that chinese culture in general is overloaded with fake stuff. ESPECIALLY in the mainland and Hong Kong. But it is certainly not limited to those areas alone. There is a recent saying that translates roughly to "there is nothing real in china except your mother" xD;;; yes, I am chinese. and I know my people.

That being said, if the original companies are doing nothing to stop this, then it is only up to the customers to preserve the quality and culture of BJDs. If you do not know the difference between japanese, korean, and chinese characters, I suggest you learn very quickly. The best way to avoid these rip-offs would probably be to avoid chinese sellers =/ Not to say that it is limited to chinese people, but i'd bet that a vast majority of the rippers are chinese.

If you realllly have faith in a chinese seller that you haven't heard about then go for it. But if you don't, maybe ask around for advice. Or just stick to the korean and japanese sellers, as well as the sites that you know are good.

 

Although I find it wrong what cotin is doing, I have to say...
Original BTSSB stuff, is in fact, made in china, *sweat*
I see lots of situation where "high end" goods are produced in china, and when overstock occurs,it is labeled as a "lesser" brand and sold for dirt cheap.
In this case I would assume patterns were sold to cotin, or they took authentic goods apart like metioned before.
Personally, I wouldnt buy from cotindoll, because I like quality goods.
But I say, to each there own.
