Volks "Yume no Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto 2010" Owners Event

Sunlight skin for me all the way! I am thinking a Madoka, SD16, Sunlight Skin, painted by Mikey!!! BW holds no appeal for me at all, except for maybe a fantasy character....

Back on topic: Does anyone know whether any of these items going to be fore sale on Volksusa.com?

 

None of the previous owner event special items like the cruises, Huis Ten Bosch, or the Disney event have ever been made available on any of the Volks sites. They're special items intended for those who attend only.

 

That would be over $50,000 enough down a house or buy a really decent car.

I'd be happy if I could actually do even one. The cost of one dream FCS in any size is more than I can convince my husband a doll is worth. Though he's a sweetie enough to let me order regular FCS.

 

Oh man, this. I would love if they released Ebony into their FCS and I'd even be willing to pay more for something like that.

One of my characters really should be darker if I wanted to stay accurate to the character.

Wouldn't they be adorable? I hope that they'll release a Luna Sweet Dream someday!!! Since they released Kurumi in white skin (Miruku), I'm more hopeful that they will release other dolls in white skin!! We can hope!!!

I would also hop on the sunlight train for a dream FCS. I'd love an SD17 sunlight Tsukasa or Williams. Or a SwD Lucas. Any of those would be grand!

I'm kind of tempted to try and attend. I've been wanting to go back to Japan and the event sounds so exciting. That and I'd love to bring home the little White Rabbit. For the special events do those who purchase the dolls get to bring them home after the event or are they shipped out afterwards?

You do pay for it all at the same time, but you can choose to either pick up your doll at the event or have it shipped to you If you want to go, you have to send in the application before November 16th, though!

I won't lie, I prefer white skin almost the way. And since Volks already created one of my Dream FCS when they released Miruku, then my dream FCS would be... Hm.

Sunlight Kurumi on SD10 Suwarikko body
Sunlight Jun Tachibana on SD13 body
WS Luna on SD10 Suwarikko body

But, that's okay, I may someday end up with my collection of Kurumi in different skin colours. ^^ Could get a sunlght by buying the head, getting a sunlight body, and then having the head spray tanned.

WS dream dolls are the hardest to pull off, because the beauty of the WS -- at least for Volks -- is that lovely glow they have.

 

$50,000!?

I'm pretty sure that dream FCS comes out to be $5,000 leaning towards an excess of $6,000 with the current exchange rate... Still a heck of a lot of money to invest in a doll, but certainly not enough for a house down payment.

I think she was calculating based on how many dream fcs she wanted. i.e. she counted how many fcs she wanted and multiplied it by $5000

Oh no, I really like Alice and I love her outfit, but my wallet is dead at the moment.

Wow, that is just too awesome, I would get twin Yosd 4 sisters, one sleeping and one awake with white resin or a bw Anais. .... I've always wondered can you get discontinued dolls, like old f28, or Sasha?

 

Well, I wish I could get the little white rabbit but there is just no way. It's so hard to get anything really good from Volks. It's frustrating sometimes. But oh well.

Does anyone know if that pink curly wig on Elena in the Cheshire outfit is available from Volks? Or a LE item?

Phew, saved. I was so tempted to save for the Opera cat outfit, but now that I see it's not all black, I don't like it half as much. Green's not really a colour my kodona boy would wear.

However, still want the boots from it! Love the pointed toe on them.

Darn it, the Mysterious Hatter outfit goes up to SD17 . . . meaning it'd fit one of my boys. Not enough to make me go to the event, but enough to make me want the outfit ^^;;;;;.

From what I can gather, anyone participating in the Owners Event can purchase "Little Alice" or "White Rabbit? No lottery system for these two?

This event = The lottery is done. You need to get the ticket from the lottery, when too many people try it.
Little Alice & White Rabbit : Both dolls are 100% guaranteed for the participants of this event.
Dresses : You need to win the lottery to get them.

I think I am seeing correlation. Volks released Pearl then Colin that looks very similar to Pearl. I remember this well. Now White rabbit looks very much like young version of Toki.

Ps. This is not related to anything at all but my future is not so bright. My heart is taken. That cute tiny rabbit has done me bad. My heart ache. I left Japan for one year exchange program in Seattle and it has been hard on my heart. My best hope is my lovely friend who can bid on YJ. I hope he does not go up to 60k :,(

aww, my heart did a pitter patter right up to my throat when I saw the Williams in the hatter outfit. I thought he was going to be a limited set for the event for just a few seconds. LOL. I will wait and see if they will be offering any limited SD size dolls before doing more than scout it out though.

I'm sorry.. I dont receive Volks News. ^^; All we need to do to get it is get a Volks membership in Japan, right?

You need to become either a VS or VIP member. Since you're new to Japan chances are high you'll get rejected for the credit card (VIP membership) so just buying the VS is the easiest. I've only bought mine in person so I don't personally know if you can buy it on line. ^_^;;

If you make it to a Volks branch though you can definitely buy it there. I think it is around 1200 yen unless they are having some sort of special.

I believe right now the cheapest room is 25,000 yen PER PERSON a night. Either I misplaced my Volks news with the full info or my friend who receives mine for me misplaced it. Either way it doesn't matter since I am pretty sure I am not applying. ^^;;

The costs at a minimum would be:

transportation to Kyoto. (I think there might be a free shuttle from the train station to the hotel)
25,000 yen+ per person for the room (that is assuming you want a double/twin a single is even more!)
any merchandise you want to buy
I think there is some dinner that is an additional fee to attend
Money for Kyoto Dolpa the next day, since it would be silly not to go.

Yumenoir wanted an estimate of how much the event might cost to attend and so I gave her the cheapest price for a room.

 

i think the best way to win a room, it is to divide with another person... Just an idea...

 

White skin YoSD option hands? This is relevant to my interests. I have asked Volks if they could make Yo hands in white skin and they said they couldn't. I am definitely going to have to try to get those hands on the secondhand market. My only hope is that there are so few people with white Yos that not many people will bid against me ^^;.

 

Is it just me or has Volks' photography gotten better? I feel like these photos are so much better/show the dolls off more than their normal pictures.

Either way I'm so totally sold on the White Rabbit. ;~; I love him!

 

Yeah, I agree. They REALLY put a lot of work into this one. Maybe they hired a really pro advertising company of some sort for this. I'm also amazed that we have details on the dolls and items so many months ahead! And I'm so jealous they won't be available online.

 

I'm wondering if it's because international people have started showing interest in the events? To give more time for them to enter and plan. I know seeing everything this far in advance gives me time to debate if I want to enter or not. ^^

 

May I please ask silly question. What happen last year? Can anyone please remind me? As in at the end of the year I recall some event was hold but I don't remember what doll came out. My point is I want to make sure that I am understanding correctly. So correct me if I'm wrong, For us outside Japan only options are, 1. fly to Japan (or get someone to fly to Japan) 2. YJ, am I understanding correctly? There is no possibility of after even on website right?

 

Last year, they held an VIP/VS event at Tokyo Disneyland and the dolls releases were the YoSDs (Ryo, Syo, Nono, Mimi, etc.) as the seven dwarves. And yes, the only way to get these items is if you go to the event. There is no after event. Hadn't been one for these since they are supposed to be for Volks members only. You can wait until they are available on Y!J but usually they go 2x the original price because they are even more rare than the dolls release normally through a Dolpa.

I believe that 40k in event can go up to 80+(may not but let's pretend to add shipping cost) and still be nice as in, in comparison to plane tickets and hotel I just thought I might raise that up as someone may really want this lovely rabbit-kun as much as me XD

 

From my Y!J stalking the Yos released at the Disney Event didn't go too high. Mostly because there was a huge flux of them right after the event I'm guessing. There's still a few that pop up on Y!J now and then whenever I look. Though I somehow have a feeling White Rabbit and Little Alice might be a different case. >_<'

The most expensive the Disney Yo's ever got were here on the DoA marketplace. The Y!J sales of them ended up being pretty consistently just over market price for them, and it's still cheaper, even with fees and shipping, to get a 4 sisters yo that way than from the markups here. You just need to be patient and stalk the auctions.

I suppose how many of them available is going to depend on how many people ultimately are allowed to attend the event. Since they are a preorder, I imagine that most who go are going at least one, and that will probably help keep the secondhand price down a bit. Though I guess in the end, it's always a crapshoot as to what is going to be popular with the Japanese.
