Volks Waiting Room v3!

I bought a beautiful Volks Rose head from eBay (I know the seller from DoA and Flickr though, so I'm 100% about the authenticity!) I'm still waiting for her to arrive to me though Customs are taking a very long time at the moment, she's been released with charges, but I haven't had my letter through the post yet.

I'm going on holiday Friday afternoon so I really want her to arrive before then!

EDIT: I just called the depot and paid the charges over the phone, so Rose will be here tomorrow

You said something about authenticity...how do you know if it is authentic or a recast? I have no Volks doll so I couldn't tell the difference if I ever get one (saving for one) but it would suck to spend so much money just to realize it is a recast >.< if people recast dolls they can also create a certificate and papers similar to the originals...this makes me weary of buying second handed dolls now T__T

Hi yumi~, in my case, I can track the Rose head to two previous owners on DoA, both of whom have excellent reputations and both have experience with Volks dolls. The doll is coming with her original LE face-up and original LE eyes, which I can check and verify with the 'Where Angels Lie' website.

Where Angels Lie is a great resource, it'll tell you everything the fullset doll should come with, including details of the eyes and wig, and you can see clear photos of the LE face-up. It also tells you (for LE dolls) which Dolpas and other events the doll was released at, and you can check these dates against the dates on the headplate.

My Rose head isn't coming with papers, but because the face-up and eyes are identical to the images on Where Angels Lie, I am supremely confident in the doll I also have other Volks dolls here, so as soon as she arrives tomorrow I can easily compare the resin with them.

 

It's not hard to determine whether a doll is a recast or not. Even though you don't have another Volks doll to compare it with! Recast doesn't look exactly like the real thing, and the re-caster can't copy the exact default face up. There is a discussion room for recast here somewhere.

Quick question - I won Rise in the international AE, but I still don't have shipping notice. Should I write to Volks? (I thought they were supposed to send them in 14 days not counting weekends?)

 

They have shipped all the dolls ages ago... I received mine weeks ago, remember? O.o

 

It was supposed to be shipped to my dad's home, and when I asked him yesterday, he said there was no notice and no doll... ok, I guess I should write to Volks. I have all the mails and payment details prepared.

Squeeee now I can finally enter into this convo. I found a MDD body on Mandarake and so my doll will soon be about 70% complete when it arrives. It stated it was used, but it was only 16000yen which considering all the Yahoo Japan Auctions I've been watching, that seemed like a pretty fair price. I still admit it's a gamble, but knowing I have 3 outfits and nothing but the little Volks MDD Bust I bought was beginning to be too much torture for me... ;D

 

I think I can jump in here now for the first time ever! I'm just about to put a fullset Ryoya Konoe on layaway! I never thought I'd fall for a Volks but Ryoya was the first one to grab me and now I can finally bring him home!

Belated congrats to Jescissa on getting Rose!

Rose is still one of my favorite dolls, and as she was a b-day present from my hubby years ago, I'm celebrating today by redressing my girl in the Cheshire Kitty outfit I scored at the last NYC Dolpa.

Meanwhile, I think I forgot to post that my Sweet Dreams White Rabbit Boy arrived safely some weeks back. It took him ages to make his way out of Spain, and then he was mis-routed out of US Customs in NYC to Michigan! Eventually he found his way to me though, and thankfully slept though the whole journey! LOL!

I don't think I joined this thread yet?!? Time for me to subscribe, better late then never. ^_^ I'm waiting on my SdGr Jun Tachibana from the Dolpa 27 AE and I placed a pre-order for SDGou Yukinojo.

 

I got reply from Volks... apparently shipping notice was sent on 31st May (never got it and the package was not delivered, it was just laying in the post office!), and since the package was there for so long, it got send back to Japan! Volks told me that I could either pay for reshipping, or they can return me the price of doll. Waiting for the details on paying for reshipping now~

I'm still waiting anxiously for Yukinojo.... I ordered from Kerbey Lane. I just wish there was some information about an idea when he is coming. I just hate being in the dark!

 

Based on Volks pre-order dates, I don't think I'm going to see my Yuki till sometime in November if I'm lucky. I ordered him on the last day of the preorder through VolksUSA.

 

I think both KL and WLD have their orders before May 18? >.> It depends on how fast they ordered to Volks?

 

I paid my Yuki on May 18th, I dont expect to see him anytime soon unfortunately. I don't even remeber what Volks said about the shipping. I have basically just put it out of my mind, so I can be pleasantly surprised whenever he does manage to arrive!!!!

Hi all, just poking my head in. Does anyone happy to have or know someone who owns a sunlight Elena?
I am hoping to order Elena over Xmas break. I am about 8 hours from Volks LA but I do not know what color to order her in. I have both white skin and natural skins dolls but I am so tempted by the sunlight resin. I have seen her in white skin. Any advice, or thoughts? I did put up a picture request thread but no bites as of yet.

The seller said her skin's getting greenish, and she no longer has a head plate. But who cares? She's my sweet Mikaela. ^^

 

My DD Rise has been re-shipped a few days ago, so I'm waiting (not patient at this moment) to hear from my dad that she finally arrived~

Please excuse my silly question (I'm a newbie) : is it possible to buy a "Lorina" from Volks ? Or is she only second-hand available? I tried to find out on Volk's homepage...but there is only this lottery-thing which I don't understand. Thank you for answering !!!

 

Nightflower, Volks Lorina and her fair skinned sister Alice were limited releases from Volks. Unfortunately your only option to adopt her is to purchase her second-hand. Maybe Volks will re-release her as a new limited set in the future. I'm right with you on that one. I would love to bring Lorina home as well.

This is of course not the right thread to ask...but can you explain to me the "Lottery" ? Does it mean you are buying a "ticket" to join the Lottery ? And if you are winning the Lottery you are able to buy a Lorina ? There is not much explanation on Volk's website...I suppose Volks-lovers know all about it ...LOL !!!

 

Clearer explanations about the Lottery can be read in Volks USA site, although you can only join the Volks International Lottery for limited items/dolls. ^^ Volks USA is for USA citizens only, and Volks Japan is for Japan citizens only. Same for Volks Taiwan and Volks Korea. Only Volks International accepts other countries' citizens.

And yes, if you win a ticket in the lottery, you can buy the doll that you enter for. The ticket can be cancelled if you don't pay during the deadline set by Volks (after they notify you as a winner). ^^

Meanwhile, I'm still in here waiting for my Yukinojo....but now he's joined be a cranky little warrior! I won Bontenmaru! I wanted him, but I wasn't going to pursue him unless I could get him through Volks, and even then, I wasn't sure about laying out the money right now. But it was my hubby that really convinced me to try for him by reminding me that life's short, and I should just go for it!

I received my Sdgr Jun T. last night after an awful day at work. (I'm so happy that someone was home to sign for her.) I was very excited to meet her! She is very lovely. I was actually surprised and thought I received a different head. I didn't know that her mouth is similar to her brothers (SD17 Shirou T.) , its slightly opened and you can see teeth. ^_^ Maybe my girl is just so happy to finally be home and pleasantly surprised that SD17 Shiro Tachibana also resides here. Little do they both know that SdGou Yukinojo is also on his way home soon. I wonder if both there expressions will change. lol
