Has anyone heard from the AE? I know they switched the date due to extending the entry period, but I haven't heard yet of anyone getting a win. *hopinghopinghoping to summon Belldandy*

I got a notification that I won "my" Akira Fudo something like two hours ago - immediately went to complete my order and confirm payment via PayPal. So excited! My first Volks lottery - and my first Volks full-set!

My Akira's been in customs since the 3rd. Crossing my fingers they'll release him today because if they do I might get him as early as Saturday. My Ryo's still on "Order confirmed" - yes, I budged when I saw, after the After Event was through, that they had some left to buy on the website. Did exactly what I said I wouldn't. *gg*

 

Ok, just unpacked my Akira Fudo and found something with the papers ... My Japanese is non-existant (and that's at best) but from what I'm guessing it's an order form for an SD Midi body. If I'm getting it right, you gotta order it before the 23rd. Now if I only had money left but SOMEONE *glares at Akira* rather wanted his "buddy" Ryo with him instead of a bigger body. Can't blame him and he's pretty darn cute with that big head of his on that small body. Can't wait for Ryo to ship! Oh, his eyes are missing the tear ducts, too, just like Belldandy. Never mind - he's perfect.

 

I'm so glad you got Ryo too! I can't wait to see pictures of your Akira, too (you can always send me picspam if you want, lol!! I have been scouring the internet for more pictures of them, but haven't had much luck)! The wait is hell, especially since I just found out that Volks JP has them both leftover from the after event, ready to ship, and cheaper than what I paid for both of mine AUGHHGHGH ;A;

I think the 23rd is the cutoff date that was in my email from Volks USA. It sucks that I wouldn't even get an offer for a 2nd midi body because I got Akira through WLD, and they never sent me anything like that + he will arrive sometime in April... I can always get two bodies later, but I'm with you Khell, I wanted both Akira and Ryo together!

Edit: Weslie, I just saw your Belldandy and she's gorgeous! I'm in love with that necklace she comes with.

I just finished packing away my four Hot Toys action figures to make room for Akira and Ryo on my desk. The action figure stands will fit them perfectly! Akira's currently borrowin Black Widow's stand. I guess I'll put Ryo on Hawkeye's. As soon as Ryo's here I'll take pics and put them up here.

Hey all! Mirroring a post from the Volks discussion thread so I can get more ideas on this.

Do you guys know how people have managed to get these? Were they from this Dolpa and what did you have to do to get them.

Nakayoshi hands were a gift to anyone participating in the World Record "Longest Line of Dolls" at the event. There were several different options to choose from, and the SD17+SD17 was one of them. The hands were not available for sale, so the only other way to get them (so far) is the secondhand market. I bought my pair of SD17 nakayoshi hands from Y!J.

 

Thesaranghina: Did you use any particular search terms to find only the hands, or did you weed through the entire parts section on Y!J? I've been thinking of getting a pair in yo size but I am not sure what to search for. It looks like Volks just labels them as "present hand parts"?

 

Astro - I usually just search for "hand" (ハン&#12489 since the most generic terms usually give the best results.

Ryo's here, too, now. Picked him up at customs this morning - when I get home I'll post a pic of my two boys. They're absolutely awesome! I don't regret one bit getting Ryo, too. He's got such a sweet, pretty little face ...

 

Congratulations Khell! Yes give us many pictures to tide me over until I get my own Ryo and Akira, which might take a while. There just aren't enough owner pics out there, I need albums and albumssss

 

Volks USA just announced that the Dolpa 30 shipment has arrived! We should be getting all of our dolls soon (if you won through WLD or Volks USA). Congrats everyone and I can't wait to see all the pictures~

 

I got a surprise delivery from Volks this morning just as I was leaving the house- as a result, the little guy got opened in the car. Here's a quick photo of my Ryo. The lighting is kind of dreadful right now so more photos will have to wait until tomorrow.

Hopefully WLD will invoice me for the rest of Akira soon too!

 

astro he's gorgeous, those blue eyes, that curly hair!! augh I hope I can finally save enough to buy him this month. It's taken longer than expected because of my moving to another home. Sigh, I feel like I mostly stalk DoA just to drool over pictures of Ryo.

 

His eyes are actually green, milkbiscuit! I tried to adjust the colors to appear as they do in real life, but the lighting is dreadful right now and I'm not sure how good of a job I actually did. I can't wait until can you get yours! Let's just spam the gallery with little devilmen.

He's such a cutie! He looks so... angelic, especially when you look at him from below. Completely unlike you'd expect Ryo to be, but it works really well for him. He poses well too. It's been a while since I bought a doll from Volks, but I was impressed that his joint locking system actually works! No doll I've ever bought with a joint locking system has ever actually had joints that lock.

 

Ryo's awesome, isn't he? I'm really happy I got mine - even though I hadn't planned getting him. Now, I like him almost more than Akira.
Actually, I got mine sitting here right now - it's the last day of carnival in Germany and I decided I needed some "decoration" - wearing his little Satan outfit and the wings on his head and back.

 

Same, Khell! I entered the lotto for him last minute and I'm really glad that I did. He's so much cuter than in the product photos and his head scale doesn't bother me at all. It's kind of cute, actually!

Edit: More pics of ryo. I'll toss him into his Satan getup once Akira arrives (or maybe when I next have the day off!!) I'd like to move his eyes around to get the maximum sinister look out of him but I don't think I have any eye putty that's not currently in use so it'll have to wait.

 

You know, I can't help thinking that with a face like this, Ryo would also make a really cute girl. I absolutely love his eyes - such a beautiful colour! And now I gotta stop gushing about him cos Akira will get jealous and that glare on his face will get even more sinister ...

 

Astro, they're green? Something's wrong with my eyes, or maybe it's my tinted screen protector, but I have been going around for months thinking Ryo's were blue.... orz

And yesss I will have Ryo before Summer, I am determined! Keep the pics coming, somehow owner's can capture the cuteness of yo-midis better than Volks. I think if I got both devilmen, I'd mostly keep them in their default body and clothes for easier display and portability. I'd switch them onto sd cute bodies when I feel like doing a fashion photoshoot or something.

Khell a female Ryo... I agree, he would look so angelic as a girl haha better not annoy Akira too much, though.

ah and I don't think I've mentioned that I won Yaya from the after event lottery. Seriously cute in person, she's probably impatient to be reunited with the Devilmen boys, seeing as they're all from the same dolpa.

 

They're sort of a blue green, but they definitely err more towards green. The color doesn't photograph green at all though, so I guess you could say that they're effectively blue? They're such a neat color! I was thinking of getting both Akira and Ryo eurethanes in the same color that would photograph better, but I don't think I could get a pair in the same color for Ryo so I guess only Akira might be getting them.
My little dudes will stay on their default bodies and eyes/wigs/faceups, but I can't resist the lure of more tiny clothing.
Ryo would​ make a really pretty girl!

I received my belldandy yesterday from wld! Now the tattoo thing is going to really annoy me. Didn't get a chance to dress her yet, was busy with projects.

 

Akira arrived today from WLD! Here's a box opening gallery post. I'll take better pictures later on once the natural lighting is less harsh. Ahh he's so cute!

Has anyone noticed that Belldandy extra parts, or parts of her doesn't match all the way? like some parts of her is more pink and some parts of her are more normal color (yellowish side)?

 

I am very interested to hear how the tattoo thing goes. It was one of the main reasons I didn't buy her. Man, if they had just been prepainted on her face I would have been a lot happier.

 

if won through Volksusa, they would have applied it for you for $55 plus a month to work on it. I got her through WLD so I will have to figure it out -_- I would hate to ruin this paint job, it's really nicely done.

 

Oh duuuude, I didn't know they had a service to apply it! Well, good luck. I'd be super nervous too. I hope it comes out well!
