Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXXV

Jul 14, 2025

    1. Thank you, this is very helpful! Volks wigs sizing is a class on its own indeed :sweat

    2. Volks just e-mailed and posted on Facebook to announce LA Dolpa 6, scheduled for September 5th and 6th, 2026.

      • x 6
    3. I am so happy they announced in advanced, I might actually be able to go again :) I think the last one I went to might have been 2015...

    4. This is so exciting! I was really hoping we'd get an announcement before the end of the year. Last Dolpa was my first and I definitely want to go back. I got to meet so many people and taking photos with our dolls together was so fun. I hope they make the theme announcement before the summer so I have time to make a themed outfit for my girls.

    5. Can anyone with confirm if the new SD13 leg (SD-L-05 and 07) knees and shins fit the thigh piece of SD-L-01 or not? The lower leg parts are being sold separately, but the new thigh piece is marked "5.7". I'd love to upgrade my Hina's knees but I have a feeling I'll need a whole new set of legs if I want to do that.

    6. @nyaaain I can test some of my older bodies with the new legs later today

    7. Zhara (SD-F-26) wishes you a merry Christmas and season's greetings!

    8. She's awesome!!!

    9. PSA for anyone looking to buy the new double-jointed legs from Liz or Chloe for their existing SD girls: the parts are NOT compatible!

I tried Standard Maki's double-jointed knee and calf on an older body and the new double-jointed knee is sculpted entirely differently: you can see how the top of the new legs have the "kneecap" sculpted as part of the thigh, whereas on the older legs, the kneecap was part of the calf.

If you want the new legs for existing dolls, you're going to need to go through FCS or steal Liz/Chloe/Luna/new Standard girls' body

Please forgive badly lit interior phone photos:

    12. The new legs look so good, great to see pictures of them up close. The existing SD/SD13 legs have been the bane of my existence for a long time now. Alas even my newest SD girl is from 2016 so I don't think a new body is in the cards for her due to resin match. She hasn't yellowed that badly, but even so. And the F-05 is far too yellowed. XD

The Happy Prince is so cute but I'm trying to be good and I really didn't like the torso on the SD boy I had decades ago sdfsdf. If he were an SDGr I might be doomed but I think the body type can save me.

      Excited about LA Dolpa but I might be moving this year so we'll see if it'll be feasible by the time it happens. XD;

    13. I hope to make it to dolpa next year! Will there be Japanese dealers?

my Kurumi came back from the spa and I just wanted to show her off a bit :D

    14. @aihre : Wow, your F-26 is so beautiful! I am starting to appreciate the F-26 mold more and more... I think she's radiant in the tan skin as well.

@Bonjourami : What a gorgeous pink pastel girl!!! The Kurumi/Miruku molds are timeless <3 I really like how the artist painted her lips.

I also have an older girl to share - my Elena. She was the first super dollfie I saw in person, and one of the first Volks dolls I wanted on my wishlist. Such a shame it took me forever to buy one!!! But I adopted this girl second hand and gave her a makeover a few months ago. :)

    15. Thank you! I adore the F-26 sculpt. It's mostly the eye shape - I have a soft spot for "tareme" eyes (eyes with a droopy outer corner, vs. "tsurime" or upturned eyes - half the dolls in my collection have tareme eyes), and I'd never seen a Volks head, let alone a girl, with narrow droopy eyes before. I love that she has potential to have a squinty, foxy look, which is the faceup I requested for my girl. (FCS Dark Make in 2024, with a couple of changes)

She also has a fabulous profile. (Boy in the background is Illusion Garden Johan)

And I love sunlight/tan skin, I'm so glad I chose to order my girl in tan, it's such a sumptuous colour and quite underrated IMHO!

    16. I have recently bought a Volks on Mandarake, and after receiving it I have some questions.
It was sold as a " YX3III F-28", but after posting it on IG someone told me it was more likely to be a F-17 (old F-29). Inside his head there's an engraving that says YX3II, which I can't seem to find anything about (but I've found out YX3III is the mold number of F-16/old 28, and YX3I is F-15/old 27)

I don't really know much about Volks, and got the doll because he looked nice/seemed like a fun project doll. I trusted Mandarake to know what the doll was because, well, it's a japanese company and they regularly have Volks dolls, but now I'm very confused...:...(

      • x 8
    17. Such a cutie, congrats! To me he looks like an old F29.

      • x 2
    18. Oh, a vintage cutie! Glad you're going to give him TLC. He looks like an old F-29 to me as well. Can't say for sure from a photogrpah, but the resin looks like that era, too (some of my Volks dolls are also very old, hahah!).

You might be able to get a better guess on his age, without a headplate, based on the body; but it's also possible that was swapped out, so it's more like interesting additional info than definitive.

He is definitely not a F-28/F-16, though! I've seen mislabeled dolls on Dollyteria as well, the numbering system is confusing and they're just doing their best.

      • x 1
    19. That's an old f-29, in what seems to be in oldskin. Mandarake gets it right most of the times but they are not experts so what dolls get listed as is not always perfectly correct.

If you compare to this f29 listing, it is the same sculpt and also has YX3II engraved inside.

      • x 2
    20. Thanks for the help confirming his identity! I can't say if the body is his original one, but it seems likely. I've taken him apart to clean him, and several parts have 'yx3' engraved inside, so at a minimum it feels coherent

And I don't blame mandarake, the numbering system is a bit complicated indeed and they're not so far off in terms of numbers:sweat

      • x 2
    21. @Tagath Congrats on the new doll! I love classic Volks sculpts – they all have so much personality.
It's not uncommon for Mandarake or Dollyteria to get a listing wrong sometimes: I see dolls every now and then and go, hold on, that's not what it says it is...

    22. Hello~ Does anyone have recommendations on where to get clothes for the sdgr girl bodies with the larger busts? Either from companies or individual creators, idm. Just tricky with the bust sizes seeming so different, a lot of the outfits I see seem to be catered towards the smaller bust. Looking more for lolita or victorian style clothing.
      Thanks :)

@Dybbuk she's so lovely! I love her faceup

    23. My beautiful F-73 one-off by Saifa-sama! I gave her a whole new look yesterday and I'm in love :D She's a very polite girl. I'm such a sucker for light purple eyes.

    24. @Foxxi, the SDGr girl larger bust is the more common option, so most outfits, including Volks ones, that say they’re for SDGrG will be for the larger bust. The difference in size isn’t enormous; my small bust girl ended up being able to fit in most SDGr things, and iirc I squeezed her into a couple SD10 dresses that were more fitted when I wanted that look?

      • x 1
    25. @Foxxi Seconding what @snowgray said: as GrG are all limited releases, the M bust is the far more common option – the S bust releases I can think of off the top of my head are Lucia, Mana-sama and Sapphire (and any Yume-Tenshi if you want to count them). Volks outfits for GrG will fit M bust – the only Volks outfits where they specify which bust will fit or not fit are for vinyl DD. Some outfits for SD10/13G will also fit GrG, but might be lacking in length or be looser around the waist.

58-60cm girl is one of the popular sizes in Asia, so it's well-serviced in terms of outfits, especially of the frilly Lolita kind. Many smaller creators use Booth (Japan), Taobao and Xianyu (China). Some may also have English webstores or be available via proxy (whether officially authorised or a proxy agent) but this often involves a significant markup.

    26. Hello Volks friends, help me solve this mystery: so the normal SD foot part is this, FO-01, right? Kind of wider nails, chubbier toes, the ones you can buy when you want to buy option parts from Volks? What is this more slender foot I see on some SD10 girl bodies? It kind of looks like SD13B foot, but the SD13 boy feet must be bigger, right? :? Is it an FCS thing or some special option or a renewal thing or...?

    27. The little toe doesn't look like the SD13B foot. I tried comparing my FO-02 parts but those also have a little toe slightly tucked under, so not a match. Maybe they're SD16 or SDGrG flat feet?

    28. My SD10 came with SD-FO-00, which surprised me because I didn't know they existed and had never seen them offered! I haven't gotten the chance to compare them to FO-01 yet

    29. @cobaltconduct Looks like F-02 to me – a legacy FCS heel foot part. I've received them with dolls before: it's very difficult to freestand dolls with them on as the sole of the foot is curved (and Volks dolls with F-01 and F-03 feet are excellent freestanders) and they're wider and larger than the SD16 and SDGrG heel legs' feet, so modern Volks heels aren't likely to fit on them.
I also haven't had much luck standing dolls in SD10/13 girl omukae outfit heels with F-02 (or F-01 for that matter: Volks what is up with the omukae heels?)
If you'd like a look at their shape, there's some in the Marketplace, but I won't link as per forum rules.
I personally wouldn't recommend them unless you're a completionist for parts or have a lot of heeled shoes that fit them, but I'm the odd Volks enthusiast who doesn't dress my dolls in heels and frills :XD:

    30. Thank you for thinking along everyone! The feet are definitely not fo-02 as they are flat (just like the fo-01). I just received a body with them, hence the confusion and deep dive :sweat

I've also noticed them coming with some oldskin bodies (like here or here) so the mystery foot mold seems to go way back. I'm just struggling to find a rhyme or reason for them, or when/why they have been offered. Maybe it is, indeed, fo-00 like @nyaaain mentioned?

    31. What a mystery...the only time I can think of 00 numbered parts is referring to oldskin...this is my Oldskin Mimi's foot – I think she was made around 2002 judging by the physical lower lashes on her faceup – the markings on the inside are T04 (please forgive the terrible lighting: the forecast is 42°C here today and the whole house is shuttered up to keep cool)

    32. On the topic of FO-02, I recently bought the Galerie de l'espirit 2022 bag and boot set and found that the boots didn't sit at a good angle from the leg with FO-01, but with FO-02 they did. I don't have my dolls freestanding, but even with the saddle stand she just wasn't balancing well when wearing the boots with FO-01.

    33. @cobaltconduct is it not written inside the foot next to the hook? Almost all the parts on my Volks dolls have been labeled, with the exception of the single piece torso that I haven't been able to locate the label on yet. How old of a doll did you buy? Mine are between 2003 and 2023 but I don't own any oldskin.

    34. The body is a heavily yellowed pureskin and the year of manufacture remains a mystery, too. The feet just have a volks stamp, but no engraving (the hands are numbered however). The SD body I have, that has actual FO-01 feet, also have that engraved in them, though.

The look does seem close to the sculpt of the oldskin feet @castironteapot posted, so I'm wondering if it's some kind of a transitory thing between pureskin and oldskin or a mystery legacy part? I do like the sculpting a fair bit more to be honest, but I also want to understand :sweat Volks explain!

In any case, photos behind the jump:

    35. Yeah that's the same foot! Thank you for the pics! I'm sure yours are much newer, though, so is it just... a lottery? who gets them? If anyone else has those, I'd love to know which doll they came with, too!

(The new girl will reveal herself once I get around doing the faceup :3nodding:)

    36. I just had a thought...could the mysterious foot be a GrG or SD16 flat foot on a smaller body?
Both of them are smaller and narrower than F-01 feet

    37. I measured them and looked at them side by side and it's the same size as a normal FO-01, just different sculpting. The resin also matches perfectly so I have very little reason to believe someone swapped them out  I haven't found any good pics of GrG or SD16 flat feel to compare them better though.

I think it's more probable that they are a pureskin adaption of the oldskin feet (although there's also another oldskin foot sculpt, which I assume came with even earlier dolls?), hence the mysterious FO-00 nyaaain mentioned. The toes look more similarly sculpted to FO-02 and SD tabi feet that also existed in oldskin so perhaps it was the FO-01 that was added later for some reason, maybe for better standing stability or for shoe fitting reasons? Or perhaps it's all just an elaborate joke from Volks' casting department, or they couldn't decide which one was better etc

    38. Fascinating foot discussion today :shudder
My 2008 f-01 (Kira? On origin body?) has the same "slender foot" style. It is a very good cute foot.
@cobaltconduct do you have a new volks character at home? :aheartbea fun!

Also hello everyone! I always forget I have my lone Volks doll which means I could come see what's happening in discussion every now and then. :XD:

    39. I noticed that your and nyaaain's FO-00 feet have a slight separation between the big toe and second toe, with a small but noticeable groove to it; the rest of the separation is filled in by resin. (At first it looked to my eye like flashing that needs to be fully cut out, but maybe it's not?) My FCS girl has confirmed FO-01 feet with the stamp, and her big toe and second toe are pressed tight together, with no gap between them, or groove. The two Dollyteria photos you linked also seem to have big and second toes pressed together - at least, to my eye. Since you also have confirmed FO-01 feet, could you do a side-by-side comparison to see how their big toes look?

Possibly the FO-00 foot was a kind of "combination" between a normal foot and a tabi foot, then the FO-01 flat foot and FO-03 tabi foot with the very separated big toe were introduced later to make them more specialized? It is mysterious why some recent dolls like nyaaain's still come with FO-00.

    40. I originally thought it was the foot that came by default on the limited SD10 bodies, maybe even the standards too. I only have one (limited, 2021) SD10 body and it's hard to get many people to check their doll feet and confirm the limited/standard/FCS/etc origin of their bodies along with it, so I haven't tried to solve this mystery. It's not offered in USA FCS, but I've never looked into seeing if it's offered in actual FCS.

    41. @aihre (and everyone I've roped into this foot discussion by now)

Left foot is FO-01 in PSW, right side FO-00 (as established) in PSN.
The feet fit on the respective ankle balls interchangeably, stand just as well and also have no problem fitting into the same shoes.

@nyaaain - I've looked at a lot of second hand listings with the feet in mind and haven't really noticed a pattern. I don't think I've seen any FCS come with them but maybe that's just chance. In any case, the body I have has 01 hands so it could easily also be from a standard doll? Nobody knows. I wonder if all Lieselottes came with the 00s?

@AlisonVonderland - Indeed, a new (to me) volks pal has arrived! I'd been looking out for a School C for so long - a sneak peek.

    42. Thanks to you both!

I have another question for anyone who got the btssb yumepi.. does it have a CoA or does she just come with the little yumepi booklet?

    43. Hmmm...I'll have to check my Lieselotte when I can return home (nothing like evacuating from bushfire danger) to see if she has the mysterious F-00. This also makes me wonder if it was more common with Origin Body releases designed to resemble the shape of the oldskin body...

@Foxxi I don't have a Yumepi, but all of my limited Volks dolls from 2003 to 2024 don't have CoAs, just the booklet and a unique box: only my Standard Models, Adaption Models and Coordinate Models have a CoA (also Adaption and Coordinate are in-store only, meaning you sign the CoA yourself when you choose your doll).

    44. So my Dolpa 45 Galerie L'Esprit Lieselotte (2021) does have F-00. I'm beginning to think it likely came with Origin bodies to further emulate the Oldskin look...what a mystery this has turned out to be!

      • x 2
    45. @castironteapot we have the same Lieselotte release! It could be helpful if you checked your other SD10/13 girls and noted what they all have (other than the FCS bodies where it wouldn't be offered and the new standard models). I wonder which feet the non-FCS SD10 boys come with too.

      • x 1
    46. @nyaaain Will do once I have power again – it would be a good comparison point!
Let's see...out of non-FCS girls who I know have their original bodies, I have Lieselotte, Murasaki, Rose, Nico, Standard Maki, a Saki One-Off and an Adaption Elena

    47. This has got me all curious so I checked- my 17/11 Standard model Mai has FO00! She's second-hand but based on the condition I got her in, I think her previous owner barely touched her so I can only assume those are her original feet.

    48. @cobaltconduct Thanks a bunch for that photo comparison - the differences are clear to me now. So very interesting, and very cute little feet too ^.^

For what it's worth, I ordered my one Volks girl through Japan FCS, through a proxy. The proxy gave me a menu of foot parts to choose from, and FO-00 was not on the menu while FO-01 was. I have no reason to think that they were deliberately withholding FO-00 from their proxying service, so it seems that it is not available through Japan FCS (and my girl was ordered through Tenshi-no-Sato). Might indeed be reserved for certain releases.

    49. My friend checked her Michele and he has the less graceful 01 foot. (My lieselotte has 00 like the others. My FCS is 01 and I can confirm 00 isn’t in FCS. I should check my 13 girl too).

    50. I have the FO-00 foot in my collection too (and i own only one sd10 body) it's from my Saki from 2015).
I do also own sd16 flat feet and can confirm that they are not the same.
The sd10 foot is slightly smaller but also a little wider, the ankle is sculpted higher and feel a little more flat footed. The little toe is turned under, but there is more separation between the big toe and 2nd toe of the FO-00.

    51. Interesting! I wonder if standard models still come with FO-00 now that the legs got an upgrade?

I did a quick tour around the DOA MP archive and noticed that also Luna came with the FO-00 feet, so perhaps it's standards and limiteds indeed.

    52. Yeah there's definitely two oldskin feet if there's one slimmer than pureskin F-01 - I've got a Nono from 2000 and her feet are HUGE. They barely squeeze into a pair of very old Volks boots I have and I'm not sure they'd actually fit modern ones. XD

No F-00s here, I checked my 2005-06ish F-05 and she's got F-01, and my F-59 I got with the F-02 feet. (Which are very legacy even when I got her in like 2016, yeah. They *used* to make heeled shoes that actually fit them but not for a very long time, and even before GR girls came out with their different heel height there were already a lot of 'both, sort of' shoes. Leekeworld used to make shoes specifically for that heel, actually, I've got a couple still though they're actually on DDs right now lmao because Stephanie turned out to be a big stompy boots girl)

    53. hi!! i am actually going through and purging most of my collection, but volks really has a grip on me lately and the one guy who is likely going to stay with me through this process of rehoming/selling is my 2007 volks f-24 on a SDGr body. got him secondhand a couple years ago from a collector on ebay and switched him to a newer body from dollyteria. he's really been neglected lately and is lacking a serious makeover that i've had planned for years, and he really doesn't have a good selection of clothes either... guess i gotta get to work on that next after i declutter haha

    54. It took me three tries to get the faceup how I wanted it to be, but I'm so happy with it now - this is Morrow, a School C (whose body is the source of the feet mystery :sweat)

Lots of gapping with any eyes I try on her, though. I feel like the eye wells would probably need something with low/no dome like Kanis Augen but I'm a bit confused about whether to pick 16mm or 18mm or if there is anything with a better fit. Any advice or tips?

      • x 13
    55. I just looked at my girl, and she does have a bit of gapping... I believe years ago I used an "eye sizer" on her and it helped. But she has a pretty good fit in her current eyes, which iirc are old Zoukeimura in 16mm. I can measure them later to confirm, if that helps. Or try her in others, but I don't have any Kanis Augen.

Fwiw, my Claude with eye gap problems is currently wearing golem eyes with much better results than anything else I tried. With him I think the curve of the white was more involved than even the dome, which is of course variable and frustratingly hard to predict.
