I think people have every right to be miffed at the sudden change in the joint colors. It goes to prove that a collective opinion went through to them and honestly I'm really happy they took the decision to fix the frames!

And I must say I'm really loving the two new girls, they have such sweet faces and they're very unique to the doll market as of yet. I won't be getting them because I have more than enough dolls and not a huge fan of the DD body, but they really are so darn cute!

 

This is so pretty. Cinderella looks beautiful. Could you please tell us who all the other sculpts are?

It looks beautiful!! Especially how the light plays with the folds of the gown. From which artist is the outfit?

 

Here to point out- original owners can now enter a preorder for the bodies until the end of the month. A pre order too, so all that want one (and I think up to two bodies if I’m not mistaken) will get one. The body is just $10usd over a standard DDF^3 too. Honestly… not a bad deal as vinyl will usually stain eventually anyway.

I do wish it was closer to the $100 ish for trade in of parts in the past. But also a whole body is the most weighty thing to attempt to trade, and there isn’t a huge Volks infrastructure here like there is in Japan.

I was also one posting directly on the Volks social media posts asking about the color of the joints. Well, I’m putting my money where my mouth is and I entered for two.

As others mentioned previously about the timing of the previous releases… yeah, they were creating a market for the old F3 bodies with an active choice. The 2B body was on the F^3 and it came out the same year with a preorder.

Also here to share my beloved Williams I got this wig for him a long time ago, and had mixed feelings about it. Then I finally decided to color the roots like his other wig and bam! Perfect.

 

So looks like the pink girls are are going to be lottery as opposed to pre order! So disappointing! I want both! Not one with out

Yea it's pretty normal for the limited dolls to be lottery, especially it wasn't a preorder at initial release either.

The SDGr body really is great! Haru looks fantastic! Those eyes are truly beautiful, too!

I don't see anything in the rules about only entering for one. I think what Kbarberdav was referring to was the low odds of even winning one of them. Winning both is just super unlikely, and aftermarket prices will probably be absurd for these girls.

Did anyone else see the email Volks USA sent about the Dolpa 47 dolls arriving early? Should be shipping out in the next week. Thats a whole month earlier than expected!

so the lottery enter will be through Volks website? they said Aug 20 and it's Aug 20 already but I don't see any button to enter the lottery after login. This is my 1st time entering the lottery so maybe I miss sth here?

I’m getting excited for the After Event Lottery and will surely enter for some items and hope my luck will stay with me this time. Oh btw, this is the latest meetup from last week. There are many beautiful dolls and cool owners gathered all at once.

Has anyone succesfully entered the lottery for the Pink House girls? I've been trying to since August 20th but everytime I try to pay I get a system error at step 4 card authentication screen. It won't let me save/update my credit card either, same problem happens.

Emailing Volks doesn't help. Volks only replies with the standard advice of no special characters, check if you have enough money in your account and the like.
A phone call with the bank didn't help either (Dutch bank). They said Volks may have trouble with the two step verification our bank uses in which you need to confirm payment with a phone app (security measure). However it worked before? The advice was more or less just keep trying which I did at least 10 times the past few days.

I tried all of these: writing my name differently without spaces, using 0000000 for the postal code and write the postal code elsewhere, filled in both phone number fields, leaving no fields open, use no special characters, use different devices and browsers but all to no avail.

I honestly have no clue what to do. I really want to enter for these gorgeous dolls but I don't know how to make the payment work. The website also seems very busy as time outs and having too much traffic errors occur a lot too.
Trying to purchase global membership for example doesn't work either. My partner's account has the exact same problem. Not sure what unionpay does though. That's the only thing we both haven't tried yet. From what I found online we're not the only ones this happens to but nobody seems to know a solution?

 

@Lamento I'm sorry you are going through this! This sucks to have happen. I had a similar issue entering the Volks JP lottery for Dolpa 47. The decline is happening on your bank's end so you will have to keep nagging them unfortunately. Ask if there is anyone in the fraud/security department you can talk to if you haven't already. If you have already spoken to them ask to speak to a manager. It took 4 times me calling in to the fraud/security department after they assured me they reset security protocols that kept being flagged on my card in order to place the order. I believe they basically just had to keep reseting/deescalating the flag that occurred for the system to recognize it as safe and not trigger it. I hope you can resolve this so you can enter!

 

@Lamento, I’m sure you probably already tried this, but since Volks had a website update, you might need to clear your cache before using the site? Or try a different browser? Good luck!

 

Question re: SD10 girls: are the shoulder joints just made to be loose? I’ve re-strung mine many times and even when I’ve strung it at “snaps if you straighten the arm” levels of tension the shoulders can’t hold a pose.

 

@Lamento how about using a different card? Mine went through no problem, and I also received a verification code on my phone at the last step. But my card is used for international transaction often so they don't put any flag on it. Or you can try the debit card. When I read Volks' instructions they mention the fund in the debit card will be deducted right away, but will be returned if you don't win.

But before that I couldn't login into my account because Volks updated their website. So I guess you should clear your cache or clear all history like I did and try again.

I did a quick Google search and see that UnionPay is a type of credit card in China, so maybe mainly for Chinese collectors.

 

A few questions here, to try to help. Are you using KIPS in the shoulder joints? Or at least glue-sueding? How about the elastic thickness?

 

I’ve been using 3 mm elastic cord and I did try hot glue but the size difference between the socket and the upper arm piece is large enough that you can see the glue.

Clearing the cash/history and trying a different browser sadly didn't help nor did calling the bank again. They say they can see that there is a request for a payment to be made but that Volks' website doesn't respond to it. So after the security check Volks just drops off and gives a system error that drops me back to step 3 of the ordering process. The bank said they can't help with that.

I don't have a second creditcard so I can't try that but I did try to order at CDJapan and that order went through without any trouble whatsoever. They use a similar payment system to Volks'. Thus sofar it's still a mystery.

Next step, emailing Volks again with the info my bank gave and otherwise I'll sadly have to try through a small proxy service that has helped with acquiring things in the past. I also contacted a friend that may be willing to try if her card works on the Volks website.

What a person will do to get a doll!


@soulsoaker I second using KIPS! For my dolls they really help with posing.

@oriscany Thanks! I actually received him weeks ago as I won him through Volks Intl., but I left him in his box while I worked on other dolls.

 

I'm baffled. I suggested the hot glue, because I didn't know what you have available to you, and hot glue sueding is easier to obtain at most craft stores. Then I looked again at all 3 of my SD10 girls, and they all have KIPS, and can hold up their arms. Maybe you need KIPS, which you can get through Volks USA. Yeah, I think I might just get them through Volks. I was thinking of getting some spare hands from them anyways

 

I ended up contacting someone I know in Japan to enter for the Pink House girls as nothing I tried made the creditcard work. But even as a Japanese citizen my friend had trouble entering the lottery and could only get it to work for 1 of the 2 dolls. Not sure what's going at the Volks website? What is certain though is that the Volks x Pink House collab is very popular and rightfully so! The dolls are absolutely stunning! Crossing my fingers for good results for everyone that entered as I know it's going to be difficult.

I just got my shipping notice for my Reg as well! I was beginning to wonder what was taking them so long as I thought it would have been shipped last week but still grateful it’s getting here much earlier than expected.

 

Hi. Has anyone heard anything yet from Volks regarding the PH girls? It's been years since I entered a lottery from them and I keep checking on my email and their website but all it says is "preparing for shipment" but neither of my cards have been charged. I read somewhere that if you don't get an email after a day or two then that's bad news.

 

Results come out on the 9th of September, emails will be sent out on that day.

Max is on his way home to me! I was surprised to get the notice because I'd just put in my order for my Clover body and my brain didn't understand how it could have shipped that fast!

 

I just came across a FCS-101 head for sale and I'm in love. It looks like the head was from the March release this year, but I wonder if sd16 girl body can go with this head?
Also is this head a one-off? just so I can justify the price because it seems to be quite expensive

 

Their SD heads are marketed as fitting on all of their SD bodies. So it should fit in theory.
In practice there are some differences in necksize among their bodies and heads but it still mostly fits.

The FCS 101 head was designed to possibly be on a male body, I believe, so it should definitely fit on a SD16 body.

 

We also won't know if it is a one-off since we don't have pictures of it. A one-off means it would come with a face-up by a Volks artist. It might be pricey now because it is a new head that has just been released and can only be ordered at Tenshi-no-Sato in Kyoto, which factors into the cost. If you are asking if it is a limited edition, then it is not. It is a FCS head.

 

@XiaoCream oh so is there a possibility that the head will be available to order through FCS online later on?

 

@Quinn.nnp possibly yes but not anytime soon. US FCS gets new heads like... Years later.

 

@Quinn.nnp Maybe but it could be much later. I think the July FCS had F-73 available but I don't think I've seen it up in the 80s yet. And F-73 was released in 2016? I could be forgetting a model though.

 

oh my god, is it that long? I asked the owner and she said the head is quite big on sdgr male body (which was released with the head). And she said she saw a hybrid with sd16 girl body from a Japanese owner, but the head is still a bit big. I'm planning to make a girl so I don't want to pay a large sum just to know it's hard to hybrid. And the owner doesn't accept instalments.

I also can't find any blank head photos to decide. The makeup looks nice but I need to see blank head lol

 

Are you talking about this one? Once you have a wig on, I don't think the proportions are too bad. There is a bit of neck gap but I would prefer that too a too big neck.
