Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXVIII

I was able to enter for three separate lottery entries. However when I try to check out with Cecile, I'm getting this error message:

"The reading format is incorrect. Please enter in the full-width katakana. (Last name (kana), First name (kana))"

I'm 100% entering it this way, but it will not go through

 

Volks USA does FCS from the 1st to the 10th of months they do it for, so there won't be one this month. They'll announce 2-3 weeks ahead of time for the months they do it for.

 

I have the same problem too! So worries about that. I already emailed volks to report this problem, hope they can get me back soon!

 

Is the GL number 99200000nnnnn? (Where n is a digit)

I just can't wait to finish the order!Hopefully it won't effect one-off lotteries, there are only two days for accepting the applications.

 

I've just checked my account and my membership number is there...I've also noticed that there is an expiry date, so we have to renew every year, I guess?

 

Right, imagine winning and then not being able to pay!

I'm not sure if the Volks website is auto-detecting a lack of katakana, but if you need to type in katakana and don't have the keyboard installed, this website shows the correspondence of roman letter combinations and katakana, and you can use it to type in a name/word and have it appear in katakana. For common names you can sometimes Google and find out the way the name is usually 'spelled' in katakana. If you're typing katakana and it appears scrunched-up/skinny, it's in half width and you have to switch to full-width. But that's not the way most keyboards input katakana automatically!

I noticed that the orders come with an "Order/Entry Number." I've just ordered now, and if the numbers were going in order starting at 1, there are literally hundreds of thousands of people ahead of me! That's probably not how it works, but it's fun to imagine

 

I like... bought a Williams? Just straight up bought and paid for? What universe did I fall into I'm so confused.

 

The issue with my account seems to be it wants me to change my registered name, but I literally cannot do that @_@ It's disabled to edit your name. Not on the card entry itself. Thank you so much for the suggestion though, that keyboard is handy!

I was number 2000 something for my entries, so hopefully, it's just random! Otherwise, our chances are slim to say the least!

I ordered something a few weeks ago from Volks Japan and my info was fine. The order went through. But it won't let me order Willems now - I get the same error message about name katakana

 

It's got to be related to the membership. I am wondering if we were supposed to have more info input upon registering for a membership under normal circumstances, and now the system is exploding at us.

 

Right, that has to be it. Has anyone with a global membership been able to order?

It's a bit confusing when Volks USA says Cecile and Williams will ship August and Volks JP says from June 15. Huge difference. Anyone ordering from USA?

 

I'll order from Volks USA, I expect that from June 15th could be later depending on how many pre-orders there are. mostly it is less immediate doll guilt when I can use pp through USA.

 

I'm practising for RG Will. but, when I place an experimental order for regular Will, the JPN site says "The reading format is incorrect. Please enter in the full-width katakana. Last name (kana) First name (kana.)

I just bought a few things earlier in the week. no problem.

 

I suspect the issue may be "*For overseas customers: Characters other than Japanese and English may be garbled. Please enter in single-byte alphanumeric characters" that's what came up for me when I put him in my cart. That's problematic as I'm not sure how to fix it.

Also, bigger problem for me, how was I able to pay for global membership with PayPal but not pay for a doll with Paypal? It only gives an option for credit card (not an option for my limit) or something called union pay. So I may not be able to enter after all...

 

@reaperofleaves - yes. I wonder that also. I paid for 2 outfits and the Global Membership with PP and my current name info. Now, it's only CC and my name is wrong. Plus the site keeps crashing. I guess I'll ask in an email. When RG lottery comes up, I don't want to be any more frustrated than I'll be when I lose.

 

I can't help, I'll be honest. I have a JP log in and a GL log in. I ordered my Williams with my JP account (but that's only valid if you have a jp address).

They probably aren't offering PP to lessen the risk of dispute cases and refund attempts/charge backs.

 

Agreed! While I'm glad we have time I still want it to work when I enter for RG as he's the Williams I dream of. SD17 is hard to pass up since he's a sure thing but I guess I'm taking a chance!
I hope I can use Paypal or I'm hooped.

 

I just saw that Volks refunded my payment for GL Membership.
No wonder I can’t sign In (aka “rank rise”).

 

@snowleopard - whaaat? very confusing. Maybe V should have offered that GL membership a month ago to get things sorted. it took them 3 days to post my new membership status. they must be slammed.

 

It only took me less than 24 hours to post my GL membership. I wonder if the location is the main reason?!

 

And... I entered for Mister Fabulous the one-off. The entry seemed to work without a hitch, so fingers crossed.

I got that error message, went to my portal and fiddled with the address/phone number and suddenly it allowed me to check out! Weird, but I'll accept that.

 

I didn't see any way to edit my member page to add the kana version, which I am guessing is the problem? What did you change?

 

I didn't touch my name at all, just updated my address and phone number which were incorrect. Somehow that made it work and allowed me to check out without the error message.

That's true! I was able to purchase before. And my friend didn't buy the GL membership that can get through the process! Still waiting for their replies!

 

I went back in and just rewrote my address and everything as if it were wrong though it wasn't. saved and voila! it worked. So, everything is cleared for action for RG Will. As if I'll need it.

 

I’ve just successfully ordered William-Commodore. Next attemp will be RG Will ~^•^~

congrats @demi.yu . After getting everything working, I went for the commodore becuz no way I'm winning RG Will. then my bank declined my card for suspicious activity. good grief. I prevailed & pretty Will is mine. (hope I get him before august.) Trying for RG & warned my annoying bank.

 

Just entered the lottery for two dolls. I wonder why even that is CC-only. -.- (In the end they still offer Paypal for the regular shop items. It's also not like there are many dolls, b/c one off a kind, so no risk to sit on a bunch of dolls if someone opens a PP-dispute)

If I'm winning (chances are near 0 anyway, but who knows) I bet I'm so "lucky" that the creditcard of my father doesn't work. LOL (I still don't have one yet and can't get it within the next couple of days either)

They put my DOB as my phone number, and the address was right except they left out the actual country. Probably carried over from their old website!

The Volks International website states that LE dolls are expected to start shipping on June 15th. Does anyone know if EMS is still suspended? Or have they set a date to reinstate EMS?

The problem with ordering any doll from Volks International right now is that they’d most likely ship by DHL if EMS is indefinitely suspended. From my previous DHL shipment from Dollyteria, USA residents might incur a 20% customs/duty tax from DHL.

Getting Williams and Cecile earlier in June instead of August is tempting. But I’d rather give my money to VolksUSA instead of DHL if an additional private shipper charge is added.

 

That is a great question in order to help avoid possible duty tax for US residents on the pre-orders. Of course that maybe unavoidable for one-offs and best of selection lottery winners. I was so eager to get my pre-order in for Captain Cecile that I did not even consider the extra possible charge. I’ll keep my fingers crossed EMS is reinstated by the time the dolls are ready to ship.

 

Looks like everything works now! I successfully placed my Cecile order! I'm still tempted by the Williams but I want to try my hand at RG Williams instead.

I believe Volks is currently using DHL to ship. A friend of mine just purchased the DWC heads from there and received the package via DHL in just 4 days. EMS is still suspended so I'm sure that's what they're going to be using. I have yet to be charged the 20% import tax myself, so crossing my fingers I escape it again.

I decided to order from the JP site instead because even after international shipping, he was almost the same price as on the US site. I will also hypothetically get him sooner, and if you buy on the JP site during Dolpa, you're automatically entered for the Doki Doki lottery to win silly goodies.

 

There is no customs fee on toys in the US, so if Volks marks their labels correctly, we should be fine. It might be worth an email to them to check that out.

And now he’s getting a handsome rival! I wish They’d kept Cecile’s right eye closed. (Cyclopses unite!!) I really cant wait to see him in person. His Instagram pics are what got me on board, I wasn’t crazy about his event photos?

I put in for a one-off, might still enter for RG? There’s no chance in heck either way but it’s just fun to participate in the lotteries. Good luck everybody!!

 

@A-Rouleau I think 2002. I recall there being a Four Sisters renewal in 2002 so my guess is that the change would have happened around then. I'll have to see if I can dig around and give you actual proof. But it would definitely be before 2005. You could also email Volks and see if they will give you any info?

I'm curious to know if VolksUSA is going to have their own membership/point system or nothing or combine with Volks International. I love VolksUSA (and want to continue to support them) but getting points for almost all my Volks purchase? Yeah ... I'll be ordering in the future from the International site. Those points add up really fast! Plus, I'll be hit with customs fees regardless of where it comes from so I may as well get the points.

@Daniel Falls I recently received my 9S from Volks through DHL, and did not incur a 20% import tax. I've received doll and figure things through DHL before from other companies and never got taxed on importing either. As, someone else mentioned the tax you incurred might have had something to do with how Dollyteria fills out their shipping slips.

@idrisfynn I forgot you had an SD13 Williams as well. Now that I've ordered SD17 Williams he'll be the only one I need, unless Volks comes out with one in tan (prays at the alter of Mother SD). Looking forward to seeing your guys new face-up, and you'll have to take a group picture!

 

So there’s all these gorgeous new big boys coming out from Volks, but do any of you still have an SD10 boy? I have one without the long leg option and it doesn’t seem like volks has made clothes that really fit him in the past 10 years Everything they make is for an SD13 and he sort of swims in it. Does anyone know of other companies or shops that sell clothes that would fit the original SD10 boy?

 

@idrisfynn Ooooo, someone else with a 13W!! They seem to be harder and harder to spot now than 17W has eclipsed in popularity. Can't wait to see him once he gets a new face~

@Adele What about SD girl clothes? I exclusively collect the more neutral SD girl sets for my little SD Williams.

 

I had a bunch of trouble with my credit card and it wouldn't work and my debit wouldn't either. I ended up having to call PayPal and finally got it straightened up after several attempts. They had to keep doing more and more things to try to "unlock" it lol. Hopefully everyone gets things sorted out. I also noticed that all my address info didn't seem to be there so I added a note saying how it should look.

I'm personally in a dilemma of keeping away from temptation! I can't sadly afford a pre-order and a potential lottery win, but man is Cecile a handsome boy who is just begging to come home to me.

Honestly, I think it'd be cool to swap it up a bit. Something like SD13 has the straight-up no make-up look, SD17 is the smudgy one, and RG is the full out glam? I imagined the RG one like in a trance and full out rocking. It'd work too cause his skin is WS, and explain why maybe the other two aren't~ Hope you don't mind my two cents. I really love this idea of using the same, yet different variations of the mold to express all sorts of different sides of the same character~ Can't wait to see them once all done up!

 

@Adele - I've got an SD Michele, and what I get for him is unisex clothes or Volks outfits with pants that are sized for SD girls. Nine Style, TTYA, and Tree Design have separates that work well.
