@Astro, your Andre is so gentlemanly! Is he wearing a Volks outfit? And Date looks so perfect in that setting, he's just lovely.

@Kbarberdav, if you make a Flickr account for hosting photos, there is a tutorial to post them to DoA. To make this work on a tablet, you should not use the Flickr app. Instead you will need to use Google Chrome or another browser that allows you to force-emulate a desktop.

Thank you so much. If nothing wows me in the one-off I think I'm definitely going to get Sophie! I was leaning towards Oscar at first but honestly I really want a super feminine doll after raising 3 boy dollfies. Maybe I'll let Oscar next year. I am so just blown away by Sophie.

Why are the shoes/boots so huge for the SD 17 boys?
I dressed my Williams on Friday and there is a good half inch space from the doll's big toe to the toe of the boot.
I also bought dress shoes to go with the black tuxedo offered in February and they are crazy long. Just curious!

 

Please tell me someone here snatched up the extremely well-priced Romantic Glance Williams on Mandarake this morning? I may or may not have cried when I saw him sold out At least if I knew someone else grabbed him I could celebrate!

 

Was he the one priced at 330,000 yen? I didn't know RGW was currently priced that high.

Maybe check if Dollyteria is reselling it for higher. I see that Dollyteria is selling a OneOff School B for 110,000 yen when it was the same doll that was recently sold on Mandarake for 90,000 yen.

 

Yeah he has gone absolutely through the roof. One sold this week on Y!J for $5500! Sad when 330000 yen is a good deal lol. Will be interesting to see if he shows up again hehe

 

Doll tax? I love it! Here is my SD10 F-19 and SD10 Nono. Speaking of Volks and their sizing, a while ago on this thread I was saying how hard it is to find Volks clothes that fit their SD10 boys, but the sd sized skinny jeans from the last release actually do fit! They fit so well, they unsnapped themselves the first time he sat down in them But I think they've stretched a bit now because I haven't had it happen again.

Ahh, @Adele! It's been ages since I've seen an F-19! I used to have one many, many years ago and I still miss him sometimes. He's lovely! Nono too.

I have no recent Volks doll pictures to pay the doll tax with. Haven't been able to get out to take any. So I'll pay it with an old, old photo of the F-19 I no longer have:



(The kimono was purposely crossed the wrong way, for the record. Red was spooky and it suited him. This picture is from 2005, rofl. I can't find that style of wig anymore to save my life, I wanted one in black for my Yur but can't find one. XD; )

When I saw his picture, I vaguely recognized him from somewhere and realized that his picture is on Angel Den Creating Dreams as a reference for the F-19 sculpt! I spent so much time on the old Creating Dreams site when planning to get my doll that I guess I had the pictures memorized

@I<3MySD Thank you! And thank you for posting your F-19 too! That faceup is so cool and unique. He looks so different from my boy I probably wouldn't have recognized the sculpt if you hadn't mentioned it. I'm loving this F-19 virtual party!

 

Haha yeah I submitted him back in the day. He was very distinctive. XD; The original version of Lukas was one of the F-24 reference pictures as well.

I miss a lot of the old discontinued sculpts. A lot of them were 'simpler' than the modern ones but they had so much charm.

The one-offs are so lovely this time! I don't want to enter for any but I really enjoy getting to see full body photos of all of them. You usually only see headshots on instagram for the ones that end up at Sato, Mado, and the various Sumikas. The SWD Nana is killing me!!

@purplepaws I'm in love with Leon's wig! Do you recall where it's from?

Doll tax: My Michaels. The one in front is at least 17 by now? He might be 18. Somehow his oldskin resin has held up better than my Pureskin Magical Michael who I've kept in a dark room all his life. Eventually I'll have him repainted by the same artist to match the older Michael and hopefully removing his old sealant will fix some of that yellowing!

 

That's funny, because despite owning a Williams, I kind of regret getting Cecile instead of the Commodore V2! @idrisfynn posted their beautiful Cecile on the last page with a wig that really compliments his faceup!

@Astro Thank you! ^_^ It's by MeettoDoll but I'm not sure if they sell it anymore. I went back to buy it in different colors after I got this one but I could never find any. MSireDoll makes a few wigs similar in style and color though. Hope that helps.

He didn't strike me as a blonde but after trying several wigs and feeling meh about them, I found this fur wig at the bottom of my drawer. I don't remember the last time I bought a fur wig so it's probably very old but I'm glad I had it because it was meant for him. He didn't dress up to play 'catch the pirate' with Dante but he got a skull shirt. Close enough!

 

Oh, thank you! I have wigs from both of those companies. I actually have something similar (that IIRC is by Meetto) in a light brown color and have been looking for it in other styles ever since! I just got a wig in from Msire that's similar but have yet to get to try it on the doll it was for yet, so hopefully it'll look close to that!

I received one of Morgan’s outfits in the mail today (gotta love a slow Customs) and it’s perfect for her! I took a quick snapshot of her in it, but I can’t wait til this weekend when we can really get some good photos of her all decked out.



It’s an older Volks outfit, one of their gorgeous gowns. Does anyone else own one of the older Volks dresses that are big and fabulous? I’d love to see them! Heck, even the newer ones are beautiful, so I’d love to see those, too!

I finally acquired a secondhand SDGr Origin body after six? years and I love the sculpting of the one piece torso so much! Nice not to have the clothes-eating waist joint too. Has anyone come across a good restringing tutorial for the Graffiti girl though? The legs are still somewhat baffling to me.

How much do SDGr Sophie and Angela go for on 2nd hand market? What's your price limit? I've seen a few for sale online.

 

I think the last Sophie full set sold for around 22-2300? on Etsy so I'm expecting similar estimates. Anything near 3k or more to me is scalping. An Angela goes around for about 1800 on YJA if I remember? Preferably, I'd like to buy around Angela's price range. I feel like the Pink House girls are really obscure! Most posts I see on Instagram are usually Angelas. She must be really popular.

The service just contacted me saying they found one and are going to estimate a quote. I'm really hoping it's nothing near 3k. I mind as well get an Oscar on Mandarake at that point.

A little rose from Versailles just arrived! Getting her outfit on was so much fun I spent WAY too long trying to put the glove on her left hand, only to realize that her fingers are not split on that hand, and that the glove is meant to be held. Oof.



Now, to find her an Andre! Then maybe I'll be done this year if Volks stops releasing goodies!

Morgan got a new hairdo, feeling the curls for awhile. Maybe it’s because it’s so humid here in Florida that I miss having such nice curls.
