Volks Super Dollfie - SD, SD13, SD16, SD17, SDGr, SDGou & FCS - XXVII

'Agreeing with Lyrajean… I have several WS Volks dolls in my crew, and they do seem to age very gracefully. The UV protect resin in particular holds its color well. Even the old WS only tends to go a little ivory with age.

 

I have a whiteskin Volks head from the year 2000, and she's about the color of buttercream frosting. Not bad at all. I only really notice it if she's in a blond wig or if she's next to the newer whiteskin doll.

 

I can also verify volks' ws is lovely. I have an MSD from 2004 who was treated very poorly by his previous owner to the point where his hands and legs were banana yellow. However, the rest of his body was oxidized/yellowed into a very nice color, almost a NS type tone.

Definitely looks like Nono 13/Ryo. (They're the same head mold, yes) The faceup looks similar to the first Pureskin release Ryo with different eyes.

It must be a Ryo since it has a boy body. I didn't realize they released that sculpt as a boy.

 

Yah, Ryo/Nono 13 is still on my wishlist. I got an SD Nono here and though I do like her, I do prefr the Ryo/Nono 13 head sculpt. I once saw a Ryo with the cutest face-up ever on Mandarake but didn't have the money, and then, someone else bought him.

 

Can I ask if some one has an Sd 13 boy, if they could measure there feet. Working on a hisoka doll, found perfect shoes but I don't know if they will fit.

 

Mine's feet are 7.5 cm long and around 3 cm wide.

Looks like the new DWC2020 heads are based off the School A sculpts. Anyone know if they're slightly different or exactly the same?

 

I was a bit hesitant too but decided to go for it when an Una popped up on Yahoo! Auctions.

maybe if you're still unsure going with a familiar sculpt would be best as you have an old friend in a new version and difference won't be so jarring?

 

Hi. Anyone else had a volks doll sent from Japan using DHL? I was wondering what experience you had with it. I’m really nervous about this shipment.

 

I love DHL. I ordered a doll from Volks Japan. It took them a week to process it. But once Volks did mail it, DHL delivery to the US only took 3 days.

But DHL is not the same from every country. I bought a doll from someone in Germany. She mailed it on 5/4 with DHL, and it is still not here.

 

Oh ok nice. Did you have to pay any extra fees? That’s what I’m worried about.

 

The difference between the DHL Japan offers and good old regular DHL is the Express part. Getting Express shipments from Germany is a hassle and a half, I looked it up once and it involved way too much steps so I never attempted it (I am German)

@Yurikun I think they do charge a handling fee, can't tell you how much tho as I have to pay customs and it's in there somewhere

Well I asked my shopping service about it and they asked DHL and they said I shouldn’t have to pay anything extra in the US. So I hope they are correct.

 

I bought my Reisner Scarface from Mandarake on a Saturday a few weeks ago. He was posted from Japan via DHL Express on Sunday, and he arrived that Tuesday. Extremely fast and the package was in great condition. I did pay for insurance which was separate from the postage cost, however. I am in the US as well, if that helps put your mind at ease!!

 

I don't think I paid any extra for Volks to use DHL.

My Ryo should be here tomorrow and I just ordered him when I posted here. The shipping wasn't much more than I usually pay for international shipping.

 

Thank you for the update! i was wondering if it was going to be possible to order through volksUSA as international shipping is pretty chaotic right now and I'd prefer getting Cecile safely instead of praying to the shipping gods of fast and safe travel.

 

That is very true. I fell head over heels for Cecile. So I'll be bringing him home! Just need them to make him buyable lol. its still over 2 weeks away. So the wait is painful XD I know im not quite a fan of the whole pirate outfit. i do wish they showed Cecile without his headband Maybe some of us actually want to see both eyes lol.

Its actually kind of ironic too he'll be my first full volks doll since I have a floating old F09 head and a Soom/volks hybrid body I been working on (my grail head is still very elusive for that body which is the Belldandy).

 

According to the shipment info on this page, ドルパ43 オンライン 3weeks【1週目】新作ドルフィー, it looks like Volks may have them in stock by the time of purchase since it says shipment starts June 15th, 2020. Of course if they get a massive amount of orders that could change, and they might ship in phases.

 

Ah, I love seeing everyone's older (and newer!) dollies! Volks is still my favorite, after all these years.

The Dolpa boys look gorgeous, I hope everyone who has been wishing for one of these handsome pirates can get one! Cecile is super tempting, but I am more of an SDGr person so perhaps I will try to snag his head. If anyone wants more pictures, I noticed that Volks posted some on their event Instagram account.

Volks USA posted on their Facebook page that they would be having a special event for Dolls Party 43, and the picture on the post shows the all the dolls. There is no specific information, but the post says to keep an eye out for their announcement.

 

My F-09 arrived! I'm so shocked, I didn't think he'd be here for a few more months. He was only in EMS limbo for a month! Interestingly enough the tracking didn't seem to have changed from the postings/collections stage.

It's looking like DHL is the only way to get stuff from Japan to the US atm, if that's where you're located.
I have an AmiAmi order I paid for yesterday, only to get an email today saying they can't ship out via the method I picked (SAL small packet registered). They said they could send it with DHL or hold it until they reopen shipping. Though I feel like DHL is only worth it if your parcel is worth a lot. If I had a few knickknacks shipped with DHL it'd cost more than what the items cost in the first place.

Can anyone confirm if the DWC04 is a new sculpt? Or is it a re-release of DWC01?

And of course, I'm assuming the DWC05 is a sweet dreams version of DWC04.

 

I picked up DWC05! I'm super excited to enter, didn't think we'd get an easy opportunity to get ahold of the event heads. Also, what a dang cutie. I love sweet dreams heads.

 

DWC04 is a modified ver. of School A and 05 is the sleeping ver.

 

Not entirely usually into Volks... but was anyone here lucky enough to win that Mana lottery? I looked at her, gasped, and IMMEDIATELY knew I'd never have her. (Also, I'm highkey having anxiety that real!Mana keeps featuring doll!Mana in his cooking videos....)

As far as I know on DoA, @GreenTeaSlug was able to acquire the doll secondhand, and one other person won from the lottery but I believe has since sold or traded her on.

I want Volks to re-release Mana-sama so badly. 30 was way too small a release

 

Hello everyone, I hope it's a good place to ask - I recently ordered high heeled shoes sized sd16. They're usually a little higher than those marked as sd13, but they always fit awesome my sd13 girl's high heeled feet. The seller marked them as sd16 and yet they don't fit my sd13 girls, not even some smaller/slimmer ones.

So, my question: are sd16 girl high heeled feet smaller/thinner than the plumpy-cute sd13 high heeled girl feet? Or is it just that they're better fitting really high high heels?

(as I mentioned, I always buy the super tall sd16 sized for my girl and they fit just fine
