I’m pretty sure that’s Cecile because I have three at home. It’s just the right face shape for him. I’m really excited for this boy. I’ve wanted an SD17 boy for awhile and he is perfect.

 

UGH I just saw the new DWC heads for this year, and I'm dying inside over the SWD head. I've been desperately in love with the SD13 SWD Lucas since I first found BJDs, but every time one comes up on the market, he's way out of my price range, and I keep falling *slightly* short of any SWD School A heads I come across, either in speed or cash.

BUT, I don't have any way to purchase the new DWC head, even though I have the money. I'm absolutely gutted. Anyone have any suggestions? Or pictures of your beautiful SWD kids to console me?

 

Wow, if it's Cecile... he's gorgeous! Can't wait to see more photos!! I have a soft spot for him!

Edit: Can't stop thinking about him on a girl body... Frick, I wasn't expecting him to be so pretty! (I know I shouldn't but I hope he will be uglier on more photos lololo)

OMG YES! Finally more SD17 (hopefully) boys! I've been waiting for so long. My wallet and I are ready for this.

 

SD17 Cecile is indeed officially the cover model, and won the Best of the Bests character vote. The other SD is SD17 Williams Commodore version 2. It looks like Dolpa will "happen" online in June, with releases spread across three weeks of time. Details on that are sparse at the moment.

I'm always up for more Williams, but a sunlight version (or whatever Volks is calling that now :p) would have been even nicer.

I do wonder though if that's an actual updated sculpt of Cecile or if Volks just put his SD13 head on the SD17 body.

Edit: Went to search for pictures of SD13 Cecile and the new version definitely looks older.

Something about the fit of the head on the neck for the new one made me question what I was seeing.

 

To be honest I've never really understood the appeal of Williams but after seeing the Commodore Vers. 2 ... I've changed my mind I'm really looking forward to seeing more photos of him, the face up is glorious! I love how Volks painted his lips and emphasized his eye shape.

 

I have a strong crush on Cecile but no money! Will have to love him from the distance, I hope someone here will win him!!

 

I still can't believe my eyes, but it looks like Volks is going to let us pre-order SD17 William and Cecile! XDD

Big boy Cecile looks gorgeous, but hot DAMN that price tag. Guess I'll just have to fawn over everyone else's on here!

Also!! After one of the lovely memebers of this thread PM'd me, I was able to find a proxy for the new DWC 05 head, and just recieved word that they were able to buy one for me!! I am esctatic!! I know a lot of people were disappointed, but I'm so pleased I was able to obtain a dream head of mine.

 

Well a pre-order for these guys would be amazing for everyone and so much less stressful!

Meanwhile I am safe since it's not a hot pirate chick (but now I regret not getting that female Cecil head from a while back XD)

 

Could they even handle the volume of a preorder? Seems too good to be true, but I hope you're right. I wonder if they would also allow international preorders?

 

Why in God's name did I tell my husband I was "done for the year" when I ordered my Reisner? What was I thinking!

Both of these boys are absolutely gorgeous. Williams is my favorite sculpt and the ability to just so easily pre-order him is torture. My young ensign wants a twin! This Cecile is also drop dead gorgeous as well. I can't wait to beg for one for Christmas in July

 

I really like how Williams faceup is done this time. I do not need another Williams though
He seems to have recovered from his “the dusk of Will” ver. ailment! It looks like his commodore outfit is the same as the first commodore ver. except it doesn’t have the vest, which is a shame because I really want that outfit and my completist self would forever yearn for the vest if I got this ver. of it.
Cecile is really cool but not a doll I need for my crew. It’s really awesome he’s finally getting an aged up release. I love that one photo with doppelgänger Reisner in the background.

 

I guess Volks has plenty of time to handle the pre -order cause all the events have been cancelled during this pandemic. I think Volks is giving us fan service XD and making up for their loss at the same time.
The official site also said if there are too many orders the production time will get longer.

 

I'm bursting with curiosity if C is scarface or not? I mean, not having "scarface" in his title makes me think not, but I'll like visual confirmation.

I need to get both Williams and Cecile. It is really going to hurt my wallet and it will also mean no other dolls for a while but totally worth it

 

Williams is dreamy! All my SD17 boys were bought 2dry market, 3 of them heads who have to share bodies. I don't know why Volks won't just take pre-orders at least once in a while. Give the re-sellers a rest. The price is high enough to almost be resale. (derp)
If not an international sale, perhaps Volks USA will offer them? Oh, I just don't know if I can take another Volks let-down. (Oscar, can you hear me?)

@Nell - Your right, I was trying to see what he was missing from the original Commodore version, and it is indeed the vest. Other then that it looks like the original release.

Can anyone else speculate that the version 2 Williams sculpt is modified in anyway? It is probably just his face-up giving me the illusion that his lips are slightly parted.

...I may have picked up another ancient one from Y!J a week or so ago that DHL is in the process of bringing to me... XD; It's going to be awkward because she'll need to be strung and I'm awful at doing that rofl fortunately I at least have elastic. XD;;;

Man, that SD17 Cecil is TEMPTING. So gorgeous, and I love, love the Williams new face-up! I don't really think I can afford to go for both, buuuut maybe I'll try to order one of them.

As a side note is anyone else having this issue? Every time I log in I can't see any product pages. Got me real confused. I was debating seeing if I could purchase VIP status and enter for a One-Off~

 

@Seditionary You’re not the only one who feels like his mouth is a little more parted! I keep staring at him thinking the same thing! It’s interesting they call him ‘Ver 2’ and not just re-releasing the Commodore version altogether. It makes me think they’ve done *something* like with Lorina 2.

I have the same issue with logging in and product pages. I wonder is it has anything to do with the fact that my address is international? Volks still doesn't ship internationally but it would be strange to prevent users from seeing products.

It’s probably a good thing for me that it’s VS/VIP. So many great dolls. The one-offs are gorgeous as always! I just saw that Scarface Reisner fullset available for the VS/VIP lottery. I can live vicariously through @I<3MySD photo’s of their incoming S.Reisner. Fingers crossed that international customers can pre-order SD17 Cecile! Must save in the meantime.

 

I am still debating if I should get Williams. I mean, I already have one and one G.Williams. but..man, he is so yummy!

 

I'm curious, is it sd17 Cecile the same headmold as the sd13 one?Seems very similar to me but a little bit mature? Not sure if it's the lights or makeup difference.

 

Yeah. Looking at this fellow's picture and comparing him to Kyran (my SD13 Captain Cecile, who's on an SD17 bod now, and hanging out on my printer table looking all smug and snarky), this new one definitely looks like an updated sculpt.

Volks says they keep a few dolls (they don’t specify exactly how many) from each release to be offered later as a fullset lottery one-off down the road. For instance for this Best of Dollfie Selection are dolls from ~Oath of the Silver Coin.~

You can if it is limited doll lottery (international lottery), but you need to be a VS/VIP member (Japan resident only) if you want to join the One-off and Best selection lottery.
