#sd_f_63 (replace the 63 with the headmold number you want) is how Volks tags FCS heads on their official Instagram, and some owners use that. #sd_63, #sd63, and #sd63番 also sometimes show up on Twitter. #スーパードルフィー covers all Super Dollfie. There are a few hashtags that come up on certain dates. For example, if the month/date combination is also an FCS head, there are tags for that. June 3rd was for FCS 63, and some tags for that are:
#6月3日なので63番ください
#6月3日なので63番下さい
#6月3日なので63番が見たい
#6月3日は63番の日

Not all headmolds seem to get enough love to have a date tag, though. That said, I looooove the show-off-your-heads-on-their-dates trend. We should get it started on this thread! Maybe some owners in the 70s will be willing to share for the beginning of July, pretty please?

 

It always works well if you try the official hashtag #sd(or sdm)_f_(the no. you are looking for), such as #sd_f_63.

 

Since people are already discussing the Angela and Sophie re-release (is the click-war for everyone? that would be amazing. I´m not aiming for any of them but it´s a great sign for the future) let me share some other stuff:

I especially love the shot of the tree Bisque beauties in their original boxes - those shots are very rare and they are packaged differently than the dolls we are used to.
I definitely like Yayoi more than Kasumi - I just wish they would go a little less crazy on the lip makeup - in some pictures you can see that they clearly even painted over the sculpted lip part ... I hope that trend dies soon

It seems like Volks News 84 will start shipping on the first of July, so everyone: keep your eyes open for leaks!

Based on the dolls we already got: what are your wishes for the remaining rereleases?
And do you think all the "extra" Best-of-the-Best dolls (the ones where they sold old stock at the Dolpas) are ruled out or not?
There were many popular sculpts among them, even some quite old releases.

....I´m just here praying that Shinku and/or Suigintou will be in December if they get chosen - I really bought too much recently and I can´t miss my holy grails due to lack of funds
In fact ... the last few months were so packed, I´m sure many people also hope to get some more breathing-room between grails.
Ah and there is another thing I´m hoping for: NO more Dolpa-only re-releases - I´m still a bit sad when so many got excited about Tytyl and then it turned out he wasn´t part of the After Event...why so cruel?

 

I really feel if the RZ dolls have a chance of being re-released, it will be within the next two years. I think people just want the sculpts, so I'm hoping they just maybe can release them as another story doll perhaps.

 

I'm super glad I checked the thread and saw this!! Unfortunately my friend didn't get a spot at the LA Doll Party so I needed to find another way to get a Sophie..... even if I don't win a click war, this should mean an influx of her that I can grab shortly after the event

 

@silver sycle I too am not a fan of the bee-stung lips of Kasumi and Yayoi, its just waaaay too overly painted, they look kinda swollen

Honestly, when I found out about the webstore release of Angela and Sophie, the first thing that came to mind was "They must have had many leftover..." which is a sad thought, but this is a result of exclusivity imo. I hope this was a response to our cries but we'll never really know :P

For me I would also love re-releases of the Rozen Maidens, but mostly hoping for a Barasuishou and Kirakishou to complete the gang. I also remembered at one of the previous LA Dolpa Tea Parties (2016 I think? At the time of the DearSDs), they unveiled a new line of dolls with the poseability of DDs but in resin instead of Vinyl if I remember correctly. I hope we can hear updates on that maybe soon, it would be interesting.

 

i’m glad that people who can’t make it to either event are getting a chance to welcome angela and sophie! i’m curious about how the production for those dolls worked! i wonder if the ones for la dolpa were already made, and they are just selling the excess from atami that didn’t get pre-ordered for the la event!

@Chamillia you might be thinking of dollfie icon! msd (someone correct me if i’m wrong about the size, i just remember seeing that somewhere) sized vinyl dolls with fantasy skin tones and face sculpts that more closely resemble super dollfie than dollfie dream!

 

@TabletopPhantom Not sure which you're looking for comparisons for, but I've got a bunch of links here too. The Volks chart that Nell linked is the best overall comparison, though.

I'm still hoping for Tokyo Boy releases, but... Any big re-release (i.e. RM, new licensing, etc) is likely to be in December, based on what they've done before. August is still a mystery though, esp. as it's a Nagoya Dolpa. The last one didn't even have an SD release.
The BotB mini-lotteries we've seen will probably have little to no impact on their decisions. For instance, the one at D40 included Lieselotte, Miruku, Williams - all dolls that are known to be very popular. I definitely wouldn't rule anything out based on that.

 

@Chamillia I´m just glad to see more Bisque girls and I would definitely like to handle and possibly own one myself one day ... just maybe a sculpt I enjoy a bit more like something similar to school C, Michele, etc. if all of them stay in SDGr size

I agree that Angela and Sophie likely got another sale-event because Volks couldn´t move the numbers they had intended. However, that isn´t always the case ...I mean Oscar and Andre still had a re-release and the problem here was them just being TOO popular.
It seems to be a new trend in general:
too much demand? - ok then let´s make another full rerelease or at least a Tenshi no Sato rerelease too
limited so we still have leftovers? - ok put them on the website and make a Tenshi no Sato rerelease
I hope this continues...at least it´s very useful for very popular releases or those that saw a too small number in their initial release. It´s surely helpfull to see Volks adapt the total number released to the demand

@ekala It certainly makes sense to end the anniversary year with something big, at least I will try to be prepared until December.
I didn´t remember that we also saw Lieselotte rereleases at the Dolpa before she was brought back together with Luna - so it really shouldn´t mean anyone is ruled out yet if they haven´t gotten a proper re-release this year. I will still be a bit nervous for August but my real excitement is for the December event then.

 

@silver sycle For some reason, I thought I had read months ago somewhere on one of Volks' social platforms, that Angela and Sophie were going to be re-released after Atami anyways. Maybe it was on the Atami page itself? There were penalties to people that booked and did not show up so I feel like there weren't a lot of cancelations. And at dinner the place seemed packed. *shrug* As to August, I feel like it's turned into a Dollfie Dream event in the last couple so I'm not holding my breath on new resin. But here is hoping that I am wrong! Looking forward to those Volks News scans!

@ekala Yes, I'm guessing we are going to see boys in December. My money is on Reisner. It's been ages since he was released! Hopefully, it's not more Williams! I mean, I love Williams but he's had so many releases.

@pris84 I'd be in trouble if we got a Silver Coin event, probably. Reisner or - maybe even - Cecile!?

 

Now that they aleady revealed two DDS which I assume will be released during the next event - there can't be that much resin at this Dolpa. I'm starting to relax a bit. Although I don't know why they would reveal new dolls right before Volks News releases - maybe some anniversary or other special date.

 

@ekala I think you would not be alone! Cecile is really due for a re-release! When was the last time he was released? Ocean of the Deep Black in 2006? Poor neglected Cecile ... I wonder how he's made out with that eye?

 

Do you guys think Tohya/Kohya has any chance for the rerelease ever? I have my Tohya but trying for brand new, only mine would be a dream... (Even if I have no money)

@Kykycik Yes, my Ernest is on the SD13 revival body. The shoes are from rRabit, and they fit Ernest OK. He can't stand in them at all though. Maybe if he had actual heel feet. I originally bought them for my Williams, since rRabit advertises this pair as for IP girls and SD17 boys flat feet. But, the Volks SD17 feet don't really fit in the shoes, the foot is to wide. Such is life when Volks vernacular has become the default within the hobby. But, the shoes are nicely made so if you don't mind your Volks boys being seated or supported by something they're a nice look.

My F-73 girl arrived home yesterday and I adore her cute little face! Her eyes are temporary although they work really well in her, if they weren't annoyingly yellowed I'd just let her keep them. Can't wait to get my Mia here and complete and do photoshoots with them together.

@Cloudedmind I have those same boots in transit to me. How unfortunate that they won't fit the SDGr I bought them for. It is deeply irritating that sellers continue to spam the Volks brand sizes without actually making sure that they fit them.

 

@St. James Do you mean the SDGr boy or girl? I haven't actually tried them on my SDGr boy, but as they have the same feet as the Revival body they'll probably fit the same as they do on my Ernest, meaning wearable, but not really stand-able. Of course I may just be really bad at getting him to stand. :P If you do mean the SDGr boy, I could try my pair on mine, and take a few pictures for you?

But, yeah. I really wanted these for my Williams, so was disappointed that they didn't really fit well. I mean I could force them on, but was afraid they might start to warp or tear. With that said I'm thinking of ordering the white pair currently on pre-order, and maybe a brown pair.

 

@Cloudedmind - I love your Ernest, he's such a slinky cool looking guy. I'm forever bummed I missed out Monochrome's SD17 heel feet and boots for my big boys.

I am very excited as I've picked up an F78 head - all of the owner pics I found and the one offs Volks had posted convinced me I really loved those heavy lidded eyes.

I got a new phone which meant it was clearly it was time to take pics of some of the girls and test it out. Severine is still my fave gloomy Gus.

@Kim There's actually a pre-order for a new and improved version of the heel feet for the next few days, as well as some amazing boots!

 

Pictures of Volks News are slowly coming in and Volks has announced which DearSd will be at the event.
I have only seen pictures of the pages for the two DD so there might be no new resin at the event?


What I found so far: (except the things you can already see on the July outfit collection website)
*trying to keep the list updated

- new accessory:
1. the umbrella from the Atami event will be available for everyone now
2. SD-size guitar
- outfits:
1. several skirt + blouse sets for larger girls as well as at least one long dress
- new shoes:
1. knee-high/overknee boots? for SD16/SDGr
2. 1 or 2 sets of white sandals (see pictures for outfits)
- FCS/other:
1. F16 and F37 will be discontinued after September(?)

I have seen a picture of the "event overview" and it only listed the two vinyl dolls and outfits so I´m pretty sure by this point that there are no new resin dolls.

Update:
Volks just posted the page of the July outfit collection
I will remove all items above that are part of the July collection since we have all information on them on the website now. The list will only be for items which will be part of the Dolpa/After Event.
Also, those brooches are interesting, I don´t remember them listing an item online like that and then saying it´s only available in stores....

 

I am honestly SO shocked they are discontinuing the f16. It’s been such a staple for so long and is so Peak Volks Aesthetic. I wonder what the choice making process in that was.

 

@KeiCai_Ayan Me too, the F16 (and the Lucai sculpts in general) are so inherent to the Volks aesthetic and I remember that so many companies used to have F16-esque molds due to the popularity of the aesthetic, I can't imagine Volks no longer offering the sculpt in their lineup.

 

That's such crazy news! I feel like F-16 and the Four Sisters mold are quintessential Volks.

 

To clarify, based on that pic they'll be discontinued in the Sumika FCS as of the end of September. They'll still be available at Sato/Mado for a while - usually about a year if trends hold true. Still, it does mean it's on the way out. I'm not too surprised to be honest; Theodore is still up on the webstore, after all. Lucai just doesn't quite hold the sway it used to, it's not the popular male aesthetic.

I can't imagine they'd discontinue for any reason other than unpopularity. Theodore is still in stock at the international store though. So, it does indicate that the Lucai aesthetic is no longer in favor.

 

I'm surprised that F-16 is slowly disappearing from the FCS line up too! I think you are correct, @ekala I think the style and sculpts lately have moved away from the trend of that style of head. Likely the sales weren't there.

I do love that F-01! I don't think that head will ever vanish. That head out of all the sculpts is the corner stone of the Volks dolls (imo).


So far I am safe on the July collections and the Dolpa items. I'm glad to see a few more modern clothing being added to the line up. The swimsuits are very cute! I can see the DD owners doing some amazing photography with those.

My absolutely favourite sculpt of all time...I have 2 NS and I WS at the moment and no cash...but I always thought a sunlight F16 would join the horde one day...

I agree with @Nell that the F16 family is no longer as popular as it was. Maybe they are very much loved by older fans but not necessarily by new comers. I joined this hobby like 2 and a half years ago and I feel nothing towards the F16 family (as well as the 4 sisters).

 

Yes, think you are right @Nell and @Moria_ash a pity, but of course tastes will change. I think that since they were so popular in the past there will be many available second hand over time, good news for anyone who is happy with buying second hand.

F-17 in the US FCS. My heart did a jump. Still my all-time faviorte mold. I dont collect the 1/3 dolls anymore, but I hope to see lots of FCS f-17s come october from new happy owners.

 

So, an update to an earlier conversation. Was playing around with my Ernest, and I was actually able to get him to stand in the heels on a hard surface. His hips tended to want to pitch forward, but after some work I got him to stand fairly solidly unaided. But, he only stood pretty much stock straight, and looked pretty stiff. I couldn't get him to stand in a more relaxed pose (think a human standing with one leg slightly bent, hips and shoulders tilted off kilter a bit).

 

Oh nice!! I could use another F62 (in WS this time haha!).... and how many times has F72 been offered in the FCS?

 

I'm safe from dollies for awhile. Although, those boys are mighty tempting. I'm happy to have my F62, and just incase anyone needs a push....(not that anyone really needs the enabling) I found very few pictures of F62 when I ordered my girl. I'm linking her photo because I'm on my phone.

Oh no, it's hard to imagine a FCS without F-16. The mold wasn't to my tastes when I first got into the hobby, but like everyone's said, tastes change....unfortunately, my tastes have done the inverse and now I'm going bonkers for all those old Volks sculpts just as they're losing popularity

 

Wow. I'm still in shock that so many things have been discontinued. Still feeling the shock of Kun no longer being available, and very glad our household has her and her Yo equivalent.

But I'm going to say it.. OMG THOSE BOOTS. As if Oscar's default boots were not sexy enough, they had to put these out too. Volks is gunning hard for my hard earned monies....and I'm all like "BUT DOLPA..."

 

If someone know about F16, at least they do one more time in September FCS with him?(( so sad about this head...
