@I<3MySD Congrats on your Nono! That's awful that the box and paperwork disappeared. :< My oldskin Nono has her box but not her paperwork and I really wish she did for the same reasons of maybe getting more information about her. (She's a white skin standard, her box has stickers identifying her skin tone)

Neat that she's got a jointed torso! They do look surprisingly similar to the SD13 ones yeah. XD I love the sculpting of the oldskin one-piece torso but of course jointed gives better mobility so that's super cool to have!

Even if she's missing her box it's still a really cool piece of Volks history. Glad she has a loving home!

They are not the same sculpt, but it's clear that Disney likes a particular look for their collabs. At the LA Dolpa, Volks was saying that it took a very long time to get the sculpts finalized. Cinderella had to clean the house and sit through a lot of meetings!

 

@PinkBear ~ on Twitter I saw a couple of people that posted pics of Cinderella and Rapunzel together, if you want to look there. They do look like sisters!

Doll tax is Cersei, my Syo girl. I got these shoes in the last clothing lottery and finally had some appropriate shoes for this h.naoto outfit. I've never lucked out in finding the original shoes that came with it

I would have thought they'd at least contact you. But it seems not to be an isolated incident...

Thank you, normally I also am a fan of the single-jointed SD10 bodies, they are my favorites because they are so chunky! I'm quite upset about her box being lost, but I suppose with everything going on in the world, it's small potatoes!

I was pretty peeved at first, and Buyee is "investigating" what happened to it, but I'm not holding my breath. My assumption is the original seller just slapped the shipping label on the box as the actual shipping box, and when I requested protective packaging at the Buyee warehouse, it was mistaken for a regular shipping box and thrown out. Ah, well! I'm hoping to fix up her original faceup and get her all dressed up this week for display (and better pictures!).

Thank you so much! This is so fascinating, especially to see the thigh joint. I really am intrigued by seeing all the different paths the sculpting at Volks has taken!

 

Does anyone know if Volks International are lenient with exchanges? I just realized the shoes I bought for my SDGr are for the heeled feet and I need the movable legs. I'm hoping since the order is still under "Preparing for Shipment" they can exchange it.

Hey all! Anyone else still waiting for their SD17 Williams from volks international? I'm going to laugh/cry if I get my SD Williams first T_T

 

I’m still waiting on my SD17 Cecile and I won a doll in the Dolpa lottery. It’s likely we will get those before the SD17s, I think.

 

Just heard back from Buyee regarding them throwing away my Snow White Nono's box, and I thought this was important to share!

If you select protective packaging, make sure to contact them and ask that they don't throw away your doll's box. Apparently, they viewed it as a "sticker" because the old box was cardboard and disposed of it.

I thought that this was important to share back, because we all know how important those Volks boxes are to us! I have not had an issue with Buyee until now, but this was also my first time selecting protective packaging because I was worried about the acrylic case. PSA!

Hi all! I'm looking into possibly getting one of the Volks SD Standard Model girls (Nico to be exact) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the posing is for that body? It looks like it's the SD10 girl body, but might be a newer one than what I'm running into from old reviews... or have they really not changed it at all in over ten years?

@roserising - it is the SD girl body with the one piece piece torso. They are solid standers and sitters. Mel will come with the slightly updated body in that she will have double jointed elbows. But aside from that, no, they haven't changed that body in over 15 years.

Anybody else enter the Dollfie World Cup for funsies? Doing a terrible faceup on my #05 kept me from fretting over my SD Williams lottery entry for a couple of days. But if I do win the lottery, then I can buy Young Will an SD13 girl body, so it's worth the embarrassment. I love a good Volks emotional rollercoaster, as always!

I brought two SD17 Williams, one from VolksUSA another form Volks International.
I got the one from VolksUSA one month ago and still waiting the one from Volks international.
I still don’t have any Williams to play since I sent him to Korea for makeup LOL.

 

I just got an email that I won SD Cecil from Volks USA. I’m so excited my chibi Cecil is coming home.

 

!!! My brain is a jumble of capslock screaming right now, I didn't think I'd win him, not after losing in the international lottery and the fact that he and Williams didn't have an after event allotment. I even tried to ignore his existence for the past two weeks . I hope I wake up to everyone else that entered this lottery period getting winning emails as well!

Now the struggle to find SD10-size clothes and shoes begins.

Congrats on getting your Cinderella! You're very lucky, and she's lovely! Thank you for posting a photo of her here. She remains the dream, a wish, my heart has made! Unfortunately, the shopping service I engaged has yet to come through with any good news for me on this doll.

 

VolksUSA did tell me today that they haven't finished notifying all of the winners. I'm hoping that doesn't just mean waiting a week to see who didn't pay.

 

I ended up checking my email for something unrelated today and managed to see the email, I lucked our for the first time ever (though this is only my second time entering) and won SD10 Williams!!!
I haven't been this excited in a long time, it totally made my day and more. Congrats to everyone else too, seems like a bunch of us did. It was a hard choice between him and Cecile, they're both so cute but I needed that 3rd version of Williams for me.

Another Sd10 Cecile winner from Volks USA here :-) I was shocked that they sent out emails so early! I entered very last minute (which I'm sure doesn't matter, but still) and I got my email around 3am EST on Friday. Never seen that before!

 

VolksUSA FCS is up...SD16 with Pure Skin Tan is available, along with PS White and PS Fair.

yay! I've always wanted a sd 16 tan girl. good timing money-wise for me too. Have to look at faces, but I think I'm going to go for it. Williams wants a girlfriend. so many boys here.

 

Are they not offering Ebony (or the other name its being called) skin?

 

the example page has normal, white, sunlight and ebony. from the last FCS perhaps? I don't see what @lardroom sees. I'm probably not on the super secret page.

 

The ebony is so tempting, do we think it will be offered for the boys as well? On the sample images, I only see that resin being offered for the SD16 option.

Doll tax: the outfit I ordered for my F-19 came in the mail, and I think it compliments his faceup so well! Definitely my most unique Volks doll, and I love him for that.

 

@I<3MySD They've only ever done ebony (well, amber now) FCS for the SD16 girls. I think the only boy they've offered in the color is Irvin, everyone else has been shadow/bronze.
