Finally got my f38 boy

 

So this absolute cutie got an outfit change the other day! I originally had him in just some regular joggers and a large oversized sweater and a nice cozy scarf and hat but he's also supposed to be playful and cute so I thought I'd throw this new Volks outfit on him and he looks so stinking cute!

@Ferret-hime PS Bisque is some type of new mix where the faceup is fired into the doll; calling it a “color” of pureskin isn’t quite accurate, but it is how Volks refers to it. The color itself is somewhere between white and normal and the weight is very similar to pureskin resin, but there is an extra texture on the surface that may be the bisque treatment Volks is referring to. What exactly it is isn't clear, but it's certainly not actual porcelain.

The original price includes the special resin and can also include hand and body blushing; only a few are released at each Sato event and the sculpts are unavailable otherwise. They're extremely hard to find secondhand as they're individually numbered and Volks forbids resale, so original winners would presumably be blacklisted for reselling.

 

I bet if you wanted to have any maintenance service, they'd be asking for the paperwork for your bisque model. I wonder if they'll refuse to help you if it was 2nd hand.

I just checked my Volks USA order history and my lottery entry for Holiday Greeting is not there and I have something extra in my profile. I'm hoping this is good news!!

 

@asianed My order history doesn't have the lotteries either! I had to check my emails to reassure myself. I don't notice anything out of the ordinary in profile. What do you mean?

 

When I go to my profile details, I see "general" and "user groups" at the top. Clicking on "user groups" gives me a user group code and an active status next to it. The last time I won a Volks lottery, the same thing showed up (it was for an Icon).

@asianed It's so weird that the global website will have a dedicated section for your lottery entries. When I hit "profile details" on VOLKSUSA, it just leads me to edit the profile details.

If you click on the user group tab, it should show a group name and a status. By that, you can probably imply which doll it is for based on the number (the Holiday Greeting lottery had 15 dolls).

 

Yes that is what I inferred as well. I'm REALLY trying not to get too excited based on my number Only time will tell for sure... my email is going to be checked approximately 100 times today, I think!

This is the first time I've entered for an One-off and would be super excited if I won! I assume by definition that there are only one of each item and it is unique... Right? So each one could only have one winner?

What I see in my profile seems to match the one I entered for, so fingers crossed!

 

We’ll see what happens. I still don’t see a user group so perhaps they’re still processing everyone? But who knows what it means. I think that’s awfully a lot of users to signify winners unless we were just the applicants.

 

Yeah thats what I feel as well, it would be weird to have almost half the winners A) be on this forum and B) have logged in to see to check the user groups, and report back all so soon

But, you know, going to still hope that its true in the depths of my heart I have never won a one off so this would be exciting! But it certainly seems too good to be true.

Anecdotally, when my friends and I entered for Icons, only those of us who were selected had the user group page show up. The user group seemed to match the doll we won (and not list all of the dolls we entered for). A friend of mine entered for a few different dolls but was only selected for one of them - the user group only showed the doll he won.

So hopefully seeing a User Group code means good things for the ones we entered for!

 

Ugh how heartbreaking. I mean, I should know better as I have tired for a one off at every VolksUSA event they have allowed us to lol. Oh well, maybe next time! So happy for all the winners and I cannot wait to see pictures!

Hi everyone, I ‘m wanting to order the limited SD hand parts for my Cecile and have until the end of November to make up my mind. I’ve been trying to narrow it down to a max of four pairs (preferably 3 because it’s expensive for me) but I’m finding the photos aren’t that helpful for seeing how they actually look on the doll. I don’t suppose anyone here owns any of the limited SD hands/Sato only hands and can show pics of them in use? The ones I’d especially like photos of are SD-H-04, 07 and 15.

well, i checked my email this morning not expecting much, but there was a confirmation that i won michele in the holiday one off lottery! i am absolutely over the moon!

Never, ever, in my wildest dreams did I think I could bring Shinku home. This sounds super tacky by there were some shooting stars the other night, and its safe to say one wish came true!

Personally I love them. The pose is lovely and the size is great and they have lovely sculpting. If I were to get another SD-sized FCS I'd get the H-15 hands again.

Nothing here for me - oh well. I was really hoping for Shinku or Souseiseki as I don't have these girls, but I have such a soft spot for Suigintou and Belldandy that I entered for those girls as well. I would've been just as excited for twins, hehe - there's just something special about these sculpts!! And darn, Shinku always evades me, little bugger!! Congrats to the winners!

@seraphicdolls Your girls are lovely! I've always loved the way Volks did Bell and a little sad we didn't get the other two from Oh My Goddess.

The coat is actually something I found from a store selling American Girl sized outfits. It fit the SDGrG frame pretty well without much modification!

Thank you so so much! Here is the picture of the gang - I feel like a need another hair color to spice things up, LOL! Setsuna is my SD16 Okita Souji by Saifa (really love the SD16 girl body, it might be my favorite, it is so beautiful) and Yuki is my SD17 Hijikata Toshizo by Rumina. I also need another boy, as you can see the girls are really overtaking him . . . I really wish they would do more SDGou - I just love variety!!
