The first thing I thought of when I saw chloe was that she was a mini version of Lieselotte. So I definitely agree with you guys. :-3 I really shouldn't be getting another size but seeing as I quit the MSD line because of the body, it is just so hard to resist! TwT I was not a big fan of SD liz but in MSD version she is an absolute cutie!

No to Minifee girls and Unoa. Their shoulders are more narrow. Those clothes do not even fit Sdc girls unles they are very stretchy. Delf Kids clothes should fit. They are not a slim MSd.

Some photos of my liz (came home on Mar. 15th.)
I took some pics of the new ‘midi’ body, it's very different from MSD, especially the shape of waist and knees...
All joints of SDM are redesigned , so she can stand very well , and assume more pose with double joint aims.
She can't do a bird sit but a half tuck sit is OK.
The size is same to MSD (looks younger than SD-Cute).

My Liz arrived on Tuesday morning and I love her! She is so adorable...and I think the new body is great! I have several Volks MSDs, and this body is an improvement as well as an alternative...it's nice to have a slightly different build on dolls of around the same size...

I just received my Liz yesterday !!
She's much cuter than I expect!!!LOL

I just got my Liz today. I'm so in love with her. She is so gorgeous! Here's my girl with her baby sister Kasumi^^

 

I received my Liz and Chloe two weeks ago but really busy to take some better shots of them. Not sure if I can post two photos of different dolls in one post so just sharing Chloe for now since there a quite a number of Liz in the thread already. I am loving them both so far. The naked bodies are not something to look at but my dolls will not be displayed naked and the articulation is great. Overall I am very pleased and happy to have dolls in this size. Just makes my Volks family more versatile. Here's Chloe taken with flash at night time in my doll room as she is displayed.

The blow dryer won't damage the resin at all, right? o:

 

Nope - just aim it (on LOW) on the inside of the headcap at the eyes, let it blow for around 8 seconds, then use the tweezers to pull out the softened glue. Repeat. And repeat. And repeat.

 

I use the thinner and metal tool from Volks as well. Very easy! I've tried every other method before but this one is definitely the easiest and far less fear-inducing for me.

 

I have tried all three methods. My favorite is the thinner and tool method. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. I go slow.

The freezer methods hardens the glue. But I have cracked a couple of glass eyes this way.

The hairdryer is the hardest. I have melted a few eyelashes with the heat this way. Takes forever to get the glue out.

 

Oooh I have never heard of the thinner!!!! I need to try that next time!

 

Thanks so much, ginarolo, for posting this eye removal method. I had never heard of it, and have not been satisfied with the freezer method or hair dryer method. I've ordered the tool and thinner, and look forward to an easier eye removal next time.

Good discussion on eye removal. I ordered tools as well because I would like to change and play with eyes on my dolls but have never really dared remove those glue. Wonder why they have to glue them? Other ABJDs I have are so easy because they just have the sticky clay and it works just fine. No danger of removing eyelashes too. I think the glue is not so play-friendly.

 

Doesn't the thinner method mess up the eyelashes and faceup? I've heard horror stories about that :/

You don't put thinner on face-up or eyelashes. You use only a small bit of thinner with the tip of the metal tool under the glue.

 

I just got my shipping notice from Volks for Chloe!

Can anyone tell me if 16mm eyes suit her? Or should I stick with 14mm? Thank you!

 

Ok, first time posting a picture. I tried to resist them ( no little fruffy dollies for me!) and rationalized arguments against, but deep down I knew it was in vain. I was blessed to be able to get them both at fair prices (Liz at near the release price). We were both very sick when they arrived, so all we did was verify contents and wait for the nastiness to pass. Finally got them setup for some pics today. So here they are.

And about SDM heads... Thia can wear 7-8 inch wigs with no problem.
In the photo above, she is wearing a wig made by BlueFairy... ^^
So I am guessing, the head is the same as other Mini dolls, including MSD?

 

I've still not been able to find out whether the SDMs' hands are interchangeable with the MSD one-touch system hands. Anyone know?

I have a Volks Msd and Volks Sd Midi. Heads, hands and feet are interchangeable between the two types of dolls.

 

I changed Lizzie's wig from her defaults, and snapped a quick pic...



I think I'm going to leave her eyes for now as they are perfect for her shy character...

Actually, ginarolo... All the Cruise 2013 releases are YoMidi - &#24188;Midi ... they're Midi heads on YoSD bodies... interchangeable of course with the SDM bodies. ^^ So we can have SDM Williams, SDM Cecile, SDM Reisner and SDM Cindy.

Could this mean that Midi heads fit on Yo bodies?

 

ginarolo : You're welcome! We're talking about this, too, in the YoSD discussion thread.

Apparently the YoMidi heads (Williams, Reisner, Cecile and Cindy) are a bit larger than regular YoSDs.
But recent YoSDs that are "shrunked" from their bigselves (like Isao, Bonten, Jun, etc) have larger heads, too.
Some of them can fit onto Minifee bodies, some even onto Unoa bodies and SDC bodies.

The YoMidi heads are a little bit smaller than regular MSDs and SDMs, though. They're more like SDC heads.
SDC heads can wear YoSD wigs, as you might know. ^^ They are smaller than SDM and MSD in general.
YoSDs can also wear SDC wigs sold by Volks. ^^ Their default wigs are usually marked as "SDC size"...

I was wondering, is Ryotaro Kataoka supposed to be a smaller version of Ryoya? The smirk is very similar!

 

Maybe they tried to, but the similarity stops there. I own a Ryoya and he is not smirking anymore without the default face up. The sculpts can't be more different.

 

LOL! I figured as much. I noticed the eye shapes were too different but I was thrown off by the name. If Volks releases a Midi Ryoya, not only would I be doomed, I'd be stalking the website to enter the lottery.

It's fit to her perfect. So adorable!

 

Has anyone tried shoes from other companies? Which companies fit best? I have tried Angell Studio, Soom and Bluefairy shoes and none of them is big enough! It seems Midi body has a larger set of feet! Help, please? Should I try Leeke and Iplehouse?

 

I got my girl today. I've put her on a dollheart boots n it fits perfectly. I think LUTS shoes also can. Iple house shoes will be smaller cause their feet is smaller then normal msd kids n only my doc kid can just fit on iple shoes. I think dollmore shud fit too. Her feet seems same as my KDF n another volks msd. Hope this help out a bit. ^_^

Anyone tried to hybrid SDM and SDC?

 

Yeah... SDC heads are okay on SDM bodies and vice versa. :3 But SDC heads are smaller, so they look more mature.

 

The Luts Kid Delf, LeekeWorld L-Girls and Ruby Red Galleria MSD size shoes are all a great fit for Chloe and Liz. I have all 3 brands, and have tried them on my midi girls.

Fransyung, the M size is just a bit too short and the midis need the extra room of the L size, which is about 6.7cm.

 

Please meet Shannon, she arrived back in May. I'm really looking forward to changing her lashes and eyes soon even though I think she looks so cute with her defaults.

I was very surprised that the boys didn't sell out immediately, but I suppose I'm just used to Dollfie Dreams being like that.

And I just received my shipping notice from Volks this morning! I can't wait for Ryotaro to arrive, I really hope I can bond with him easily.

 

I surprised they shipped so fast... I wasn't expecting it until next week! Now time for more good news, Ryotaro arrived Saturday. Here are some not so great evening pics but I couldn't contain my excitement. He looks very different from the promo pics to me, but that doesn't make me like him any less.
