She is gorgeous! I have the updo wig too and although it would not have orginally been my first choice I am really starting to love it-it fits the kimono look :-)

My girl arrived yesterday. I'm loving everyone's pics, so here's my turn to share.

I asked for medium, and she arrived with the dark updo wig, and the most beautiful pale brownish grey eyes, just what I was hoping for. Her kimono is BRIGHT orange, not what I would have picked, but I'm surprised at how much I like the color combination in the pics. Instead of the lotus hair ornament, I got a quilted, stuffed flower with a pearl center, a slight disappointment, as I really loved the lotus, but **slaps self** I've got Madoka/Shizu, I'm not going to dwell on a flower ornament, lol!







Redressed in Dollheart. I think this is the most accurate pic of her eye color.

Kittyaz, she's gorgeous. I actually like your kimono color and the combination of the obi color/design is wonderful. The looks fabulous in her dollheart outfit. I need some "real" clothes for my girl. None of my SD size clothes suit her style so for now she is staying in her kimono.

 

I got mine today ... asked for medium, but got my second choice, dark. Her eyes are a dark blue/grey. At first I was disappointed with her wig and kimono color, but they are growing on me. Really was hoping for an updo, though. I will post dressed pics when I get home from work tonight.

 

AAH! She just arrived! I believe I got the dark but it doesn't say anywhere. I don't have time to take too many photos or dress her as I am packing to leave town but I snapped some super quick shots of her face and the kimono.

 

laurman2000: Thanks! At first, the orange surprised me, because it is just so bright and not a color I would normally choose, but I like how it photographs. I picked medium hoping for a red kimono, and the updo and the grey eyecolor, which I got. I think she's going to be really versatile and am looking forward to seeing how folks style her.

justkatie179: Your girl is beautiful! Your kimono is in colors I would have picked if I had the choice. I usually go for blacks or deep reds or, at the other end of the spectrum, pale pastels. I don't think our girls are going to be spending much time in their kimonos though, lol.

Icarus: Thanks for sharing your girl (while preparing for a trip, no less!) She is beautiful! I love your kimono colors.

justkatie I'm sorry you were disappointed at first. I sure hope she grows on you. She looks really pretty in that wig and I love the black kimono.

Thank you to everyone for the compliments! The kimono has really grown on me, and I am now very happy with it. I am playing around with wig combinations to see what suits her.
Icarus and Kittyaz, your girls are gorgeous! It's fun to see all the different combinations displayed.

Very Pretty Ria ria! I especially love her kimono. They are so many variations of Shizu and each one is so unique :-)

 

I received my Shizu just yesterday! I got the medium version (which is what I asked for) with an orange kimono and the same updo as ria_ria and dark grey eyes. I switched out her hair and eyes already for the Megu default wig and ED eyes, but I'll take pictures at home tonight!

I got my Shizu yesterday, but I had class all day so I didn't get a chance to post my pics! I believe I got the dark or med version. I'm so happy that I got my favorite wig out of the three and I love her blueish grey eyes! Her Kimono is a beautiful purple color! And i got the lovely lotus hair ornament!

My girl finally has a name. It's Tiana which is Greek for princess. I tried on some clothes and shot a few pictures of here and posted them in the gallery for anyone who wants to peek.

i really enjoyed looking at all the new versions of shizu, i really like what volks did with the make up. they have greatly improved their workmanship for limited dolls.

 

My Shizu arrived today. I had my Mom mail the order form as it just came too close to my leaving for a doll convention. Then I didn't hear anything and I was all like poop. Then this Wednesday, Pat contacted me and viola, Shizu and not only that, in dark colors like my first choice.

I got my Shizu at the beginning of this week, she's in her default kimono and wig, but I have changed her eyes.






I have re-style her wig with the hair accessory like this:

 

I just wanted to pipe in here and admit that when our girls wear kimonos, it is my daughter who does the dressing. My job is to hold the doll and turn her when needed. I guess I am a maternal doll stand!!

All the Shizu's are so lovely and the kimonos are so different from one another. Each one is a treasure and I send envious congratulations to all you new Shizu keepers!!!

I guess I do this to my mom or my older sister--ask them to hold the doll for me when I dress them in these complicated kimonos.

It's fun and it's a great way for some mother, daughter and doll time.

I ordered a Medium and got a dark brown eyed Shizu! I haven't tried on her wig or kimono yet, but here she is in other kimono sets! And a short posh doll wig.

Thank you Mary, that is one of the HD Bitten Collection wigs. Although she looks good in all colors, I prefer the darker wig colors.

Besides Ria-Ria's, I think I have the only dark brown eyed girl so far and I'm loving her kimono too(hers and Ivy's are my favorites so far)....Faience's own kimono is very nice too, and I'll put it on soon - its black with a design including some gold stamping - she also has the medium updo wig....

I have to agree with you Ivy. I have not seen one of these girl NOT looking good. They are just all so beautiful.

 

WOW! I didn't realize it was the wig from Bitten. It works great with the kimono and the color is perfect for her too :-)

 

My girl has very dark eyes but they look lighter because all my pics have been taken with a flash but are extremely dark brown (almost look black) under normal lighting conditions.

Its funny because I asked for the light and got the darkest! I love our dark eyed girls though! The dark eyes have really grown on me! Your girl is just stunning. Which wig did you get?

 

I got the medium colored updo wig - just the one I wanted too...I asked for a medium set, and forgot to put down my 2nd and 3rd choices! A friend of mine requested the dark set, and his Shizu has medium blue eyes, a dark blue kimono and came with the long wig in a two-toned dark brown.

Finally got my girl dressed - wow was that tough! First I tried on some fun clothes, then an easy practice kimono. The real kimono was pretty hard, and the shoes fought me like crazy. Now that I have the wig that I wanted, and my kimono has grown on me, I'm very happy.

 

Oh Katie she looks great. It's incredible how much younger she looks in that first photo. I like that wig on her. Any name yet?
