Volks NYC Dolpa 4, July 25 and 26th 2009 -updated, postponed.- FDQ Shizu

Torren, you're absolutely right. There have been 3 in NY, and I've been to two in LA (and missed at least one--maybe two--in LA on top of those).

But... Sadly, it is true that the last dolpa here in the US was NY3 last year

 

Oh I wasnt saying that were only a limited number of Dolpas in NY. I was just pointing out that it seems the Dolpas have lately, had a run of bad fortune.

The seemingly was pretaining to that there was talk the one might still occur in n.y as a in person event.

I wouldn't call them tea parties they are more of a dolpa light.

Volks did used to have actual teas at the mansion in CA

 

Two in LA? We've only had one Dolpa here. Everything before that were the mansion parties.

True! Sorry--I was counting the Halloween mansion party and the then the actual dolpa at the hotel. I missed the store-opening party, and I could have sworn there was one other event, but since I didn't go to them, I don't really know for sure!

I wasn't counting the online dolpa, as... well... that's not at all the same as actually getting together with other people!

 

That's what we really need Tamara. Another mass Dollfie get together. I miss seeing you ladies!

I've been to seven Volks (only) sponsored events in the USA, whether they're called Dolpas or not - 4 in the L.A. area, and 3 in NYC. 2 of the earlier L.A. events, though officially for just one afternoon, stretched into 2 days as there were separate related sales at the Torrence store the day after.

Volks has not yet updated Pat Henry on when Shizu will be available. She heard from them quite recently, and has not gotten the necessary information vis-a-vis total final price and delivery dates.

 

Oh, that sucks. So she wouldn't even be able to tell us if we're getting one or not? The wait would be easier if I just knew for sure.

 

I don't think she can let us know until Volks tells her how many they will make available to her. I'm sure this is frustrating for her, too.

I hope we find out the ship date for Shizu soon. I am so excited for her arrival :-)

Anyone know if it's definite that you won if you got an email? The email is rather vague on that front. It just says that they will be charging and shipping next week. It could almost be read as informational and not a confirmation email.

 

I think so , cos it also says this " If you choose to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible so we can contact those who are on the waiting list. "

 

So if we got an email then it pretty much means we got her?

I just emailed Pat to make sure and she says that if you got an email, that means that they're planning on shipping a Shizu to you!

 

I'm so relieved that the wait is finally over and Shizu will be coming home!!!

I want to know which version I got too but I don't want to ask since I would like for it to be a surprise! It would be fun to find out when she arrives. I'm also hoping that I got the medium version.

I got an email too! :-D So I guess I should Paypal now? What's with the higher fee for Paypal payers, though? Isn't that against Paypal rules or something? Ugh, maybe I'll just call my credit card numbers in or something. I don't want to pay $30 extra if I don't have to.

 

While it's against paypal regulations (at least if you're using paypal for ebay), check out our marketplace. I never charge fees (which, for me, are a part of the cost of doing business), but I'd be willing to bet that I'm in the minority.

I think it's kind of weird they'd charge fees for Paypal since they're probably paying fees to Mastercard and Visa too but they're not charging extra if you use those.

 

I got an email!!!! Woot!!! How do you pay by credit card? I would rather save the $30.00.

 

I'm guessing you have to call them and tell them your numbers. I'll probably try it tomorrow.

At the time of ordering, didn't it ask for our credit card information? I gave Pat my card info so I don't know if I need to email it again or call in to let them know.

When I emailed the form my CC info was on it. So don't think I need to do it again. I'm so thrilled to be getting Shizu...woo Hoo !!!!!

I am so excited that I am getting Shizu :-) Now I can't wait to see everyones pictures of all the different variations.

 

Did anyone who paid automatically by credit card or manually by paypal get a confirmation that their payment was received? @.@ Maybe we won't hear anything until they start shipping...

 

No e-mail for me either, and I sent my application in as the news was breaking. . . bummer. . . maybe they're still notifying? (***hangs on to a thread of hope***)

I wonder how they are deciding who gets Shizu. I thought it was first come, first serve. I got my application in really early and received one of those original e-mails of "we'll contact you with final price and shipping" and nothing about reconfirming the order, so I thought I had one and reserved money for her arrival. I am long time subscriber and a Volks member, so those issues wouldn't figure either.

Oh well. This thread seems awfully quiet for such an exciting doll release, so maybe that means, they're still e-mailing. . . I know, I know, I'm ever the eternal optimist.

 

Thanks, Barb. I did call earlier today, but got the voicemail that said they were very busy with Shizu orders and the next issue and to e-mail them instead. I have e-mailed them I hate to bug them when they're so busy.

I really do appreciate the advice, makes me feel better. Thanks again.

 

According to the return e-mail I got, they aren't sending confirmations for cc payments. Instead, Pat said they would put the receipt inside the doll box. She said they are shipping out Tuesday. I sure would love to know how many Shizu's they got! And kittyaz, I would definitely call if you haven't heard anything. Did you get a confirmation when you initially put the order in? Any e-mail back regarding future shipping charges?

I'm getting one too. I can't wait for her to arrive, as well as everyone elses. I think it'll be so fun to see all the new Shizu's and hear all the new names and profiles.
