VOLKS new SDs and Oct 23rd event and DISCONTINUED DOLLS

I will probably take hundreds of pictures of her! Once she's here I probably won't be able to take my eyes, or my camera, off her! *lol* I've already got an outfit and two pairs of shoes for her, plus I'm thinking of ordering another outfit for her from Luts when their website opens. *lol* Most people have the doll first and then buy clothes. I guess I've gone backwards!

I hope they do release Nana 13 and her sisters in pure skin so that you don't miss out on getting her.

 

But you can always order an FCS girl with SD13 body and four sisters head, right?... Or Volks will discontinue the FCS heads too? O_O

 

I believe that Volks is not discontinuing SD13 dolls nor discontinuing FCS but the ones in the OLD RESIN and OLD BODY.

I think they are going to re-create their standard line with new faces and old faces with new body and new pureskin resin. If you are a fan of old resin, you probably want to get them asap.

 

Volks lists almost all of their dolls as "out of stock" on their webpage if you pull up the order box. The ones that aren't sold out are listed as being low in stock. There's no option to preorder the doll and wait for it to come back in stock. This suggests to me that the lines will be discontinued for good on Oct. 23 (or whichever date it is) but if they sell out sooner than that, then that's it. If you really want to get a certain doll I'd probably order her now just in case.

 

I am SO CURIOUS about the new Standard Dolls and if any are male x_x

 

Hmm... My take on this was that Oct 23rd they were going to start a special sale of all the old things, and of the new molds. Maybe not, though... besides, everyone, there is always the secondary market! Its not like the old skin unlimited get hung up in bidding wars!

The Volks website says that they are hoping to have more information up "in the afternoon or evening, on Oct. 9th". So hopefully within the next 12 hours, we'll have more info... and maybe even pictures!

darn...sure wish I could see Yori's face better... Kinda have a dollema here. I have just finished Agatha (a 4 Sisters head) she and Chami share a Luts body. Been looking for an sd13 body to go with her...was going to order from Frank - he has a Kira in stock and use that body for Aggy.
I kinda like Yori but I am not sure about the new skin matching the old resin....
What to do?

 

I have an old resin MSD head on a pureskin body. Once the old resin is coated, you pretty much can't tell the difference, so I think you'd be safe

 

Thanks thats so nice to know....D&H has old style for 680 and the new doll for 714 so there not much difference and now that I know they will match, I may go for the new doll.
I did post a WTB and if I dont hear by then I think I will just order Yori.

I LOVE Kun and Link. They're perfect for characters I had in mind. Not too keen on the minis though.

I am really liking Yori, she looks like an older four sister heads (looks like same nose and mouth) but the entire mouth area in the pic is very fuzzy. Even went to a 20" monitor to check and its still very fuzzy. I am tempted to order but wont until I see some better pics and a side view.

Is there any way to know which hands and feet they are.. are they going to match the "old" choices? (ie SD H-01 from old system will look the same as SD H-01 in the new system, but in pure skin?)
I guess we dont know all the hands yet for SD13 boy anyway do we?

Okay I have a question.......... is the Nono pureskin version being discontinued????????!!!!!

Because I thought I read she wasn't but now I went to Volks and checked the stock amount on her new body version. It says 'there is a little bit left over' so aka low stock AHHH!

So that makes me think she is being discontinued which sucks! Because I had my heart set on getting her........ but I can't get for a couple more months *gloom*

 

I really dont think any of the new pureskin dolls are being discontinued. volks goes in and out of stock on those... I could be wrong though.

but then there is alway sthe option of FCS.

 

I still can't say that I'm fond of Link, but he does look better in the Volks pictures.

 

Oooh thanks for the reply lolz. Hopefully she's not being discontinued then lolz. I'll just leave it to fate I think. Because I gotta focus on my two cons (sakura con and ax) before I get a SD sized doll........my two MSD will do! If I were ever to get a FCS (not cheap for canadians, like 1.400+ from domuya!) I would get the old system F-08 head though hehe.

I'll just wait and see and leave it to fate XD

 

I've got to say, I'm not at all keen on the new mini's. Midori's the only one even tolerable to me, and of course, she's limited. ~_~ I'm really not liking how they've taken vaguely stylised models and made them into anime character resin casts.

(In case you can't tell, I HATE their noses. I don't like the faces in general, but the noses are the WORST. )

Kun and Yori are really pretty though. I love that Yori seems like a custom 4-Sisters head. (Almost like something you'd see on Y!JA, don't you think?) Link's eyes bother me a bit.... I'm itching to get my hands on him just to widen them a bit.

I've still got my heart set on a Myu kit. I know I could get her easily fully assembled, but I really wanted to use the assembly process to bond. Phooey.

I still can't shake the feeling that there's something very wrong with Kohaku's head. What a disappointment to me.
