Belle is growing more and more on me every time I see her pictures. Looking forward to see larger and official images of her... I might end up wanting Beast Claude, Belle and Chloe (little Lieselotte!)... T^T

 

Does anyone know if Midi Chloe is going to be in Normal Skin? :-) Thank you in advance!

I asked my friend yesterday these questions after she received her Volks News and these were the responses.

 

I will PM you some photos. Volks staff told me it is normal for shadow skin SD17 to be like this. I know 2 people with shadow Shiro and they all say the same thing about him (Some of us the body is worse than others, some the back of the head is pretty bad). It is not really widely talked about though because he is rare so I think people just deal with it on their own. The FCS tan did not have that problem. I do not think tan Cecile or Irvin did either. I'd imagine that making it a darker color shouldn't make a difference unless Volks changed their formula again. I do not know.

 

Tan dolls usually have problems, but some are noticeable and some are not. ^^ It also depends on the owner to perceive them as "normal things" or "problems". I am waiting for price tags, too. No bigger scans yet? >.> I do hope the dolls will all be available for International lotteries.

My first thougths: Belle - more photos may raise her; Claude, the Prince - indifferent; Claude, the Beast - more photos may lower him, but he may be a candidate to become my first male.

Thanks so much Thesaraghina. You know from the Idex thread that I am considering attending this year's Idex in Orlando. If I enter a lottery and win, I won't be able to go to Orlando . It becomes a budget issue. Anyway, I've yet to decide on whether to enter for a big doll, I have not acquired one for a while now, my interest having shifted to collecting non BJDs. I might just be tempted at this time to enter for a big boy. Waiting to see more photos. I love the Hakama sets. Even if I do not get a doll, I'd love to try for clothes. I'm excited about all this. It's either a new boy or Idex!

 

@Izam: Thanks for the info! I have always heard great things about Sunlight skin so I assumed that Shadow skin didn't have any flaws... and no one really spoke about it when they came home. I don't mind some imperfections in the tan skin (I have a Dollshe with discoloration around his joint areas), but I'd just like to know what I'm getting, and not be surprised about it once it is in my hands. Thanks for sharing this info!

 

I see that Volks is selling a body suit for DD! o_o That's awesome! I was going to buy mine from Cool Cat, but I might as well wait and buy from Volks. xD The color is really DD NS... Thanks for the link, Ksusha! Although I don't know how to make the images appear bigger. >.>

The nose is different. So... no. As an owner of Ryoya, I'd say they're really different. >.>

 

I thought cousins! I think the have a similar style of sculpt, a little more realistic and less stylized.

 

Well drats, I like them all, but can't afford them all. The midi girls are adorable and affordable. I really like Claude the Beast, but am going to have to sell someone to afford him. Hmmm all of the BJDs just went into hiding.

 

I like NS Claude very much.

 

I love to get Belle and Midi Chloe. I will have to see if my finances will support this. But I hope Volks will one day do Sleeping Beauty.

I agree with you about the tan dolls. I have Volks Ruby and she has some issues. I don't personally mind though.

As for Claude, I'm not sure how I feel about him yet. His nose looks pretty wide, no?

 

Hope the Beast Claude will be offered by other than the Dolpa and YJ routes....(sigh).

 

Claude the Beast will be available at the following (in Japan):
1) Dolpa
2) After Event (limited locations including Tenshi no Mado, Tenshi no Sato, Nagoya Sumika and on-line)

On-line generally indicates availability within Japan and international shipping. The AE (After Event) is being held on March 23rd (Japan time). They should have information up on their website about the AE after Dolpa on the 10th of March.

 

That is good to know Shawnah! What about the availability of the other dolls?

 

According to Volks News, Katie, all other limited dolls (Claude the Prince, Belle, Chloe and Liz) will be offered at both Dolpa and the After Events at all Sumikas in Japan along with online. I have not read about the DD releases in detail, but with a glance, it appears that they too should be available at all locations during the AE. There are no Dolpa-only dolls at this event.

 

Yikes, will mark my calendar for the Online AE Q_Q I wanna try for Claude the Prince!
I haven't keep myself updated with AEs. Are they lottery-based these days? D':

 

I usually buy at the shop, so I do not know how the online system works. I think if there is a higher demand than supply, there will be a lottery. If there is a low demand to the supply, there is no lottery. A lot depends on how many dolls Volks decides to produce, I think.

 

whippy : I think for the International AE it would be a lottery. >.> Don't know if there will be leftovers, though. The recent releases have been slow in going out of stock (Mami and Yuu)... (_ _)

As usually Volks does it again with these cuties. I dont do MSD size so I am safe from Chloe and Liz. I dont collect boys so Im good there. I do like Belle, she is pretty and very unique looking. But she doesnt make me excited like when I have seen past girls. I know with a custom face up she will be gorgeous. I saw someone mentioned they thought she looks like Luna, but I own a Luna and they look nothing alike. The only similarity is that they both have a slightly open mouth. She does look like a little like Liz/Anais mixed together. Im going to continue to wait for a Lorina/Alice SDgr re-release.

Wow the dolls are so great looking! I don't usually like Volks boys (I don't dislike them.. they're just not usually for me) but these are particularly nice! If I had a pile of money I'd definitely try for a Beast. Belle is cute too. She doesn't grab me but I am looking forward to seeing owner pics. I agree with Tsukidoll that she looks like she's got a bit of Anais in her! The Midis I can't wait to see more of... while Chloe and Liz also don't fill me with the urge to take them home, I'm excited about the new line. I know if they released the four sisters in this size, I'd be in biiiiig trouble!!

I really hope Belle is available online, she's sooooo pretty...and though boy dolls are not my thing, the Prince is really handsome and i might try for him too...plus belle and him will look so good together... Love his outfit too!

 

I have not exactly kept track, but since I started collecting in 2009 it has been like once a year that a limited edition doll has been available in the webshop after the lottery. Still, I love Mami so I hope her status does not make Volks think it was a bad idea to release a doll like her.

 

I love SD17 Claude, especially his wig. I find the SDGou body too masculine for me. I prefer fair pale faced boys (blush-blush). Belle is the fairest of them all. I still love human Claude. Sigh.

At this stage of my BJD collecting, it's not so much about acquiring the most beautiful doll (although this is important) but more about enjoying what I already have, traveling, attending events, etc. I've arranged to attend Idex in Orlando and won't be trying for a doll in this dolpa but will try for some clothes.

I think Claude, the Beast, looks more boyish than in the first pictures we saw, and also more "volkish", refering to those in the Super Dollfie thread who thought that the Beauty and the Beast set looked odd.

I've been holding out for Lorina, but I think I may have to keep my fingers crossed for SdgrG Belle. I can imagine my odds with the lottery would be better. lol ^_^

 

Seditionary, this is the exact reason I am not head over heels for Belle. I have been waiting for a re-release. I even emailed Volks to see if they would tell me anything about a re-release. This is their reply to me: Unfortunately, at this point we do not know of any plans to re-release SDGrG Lorina.
However, we cannot say whether or not they would do so in the future. So I will continue to wait. I just know Belle will be gorgeous with a custom face up but I want Lorina.
I adore Volks boys but my wish list would be so huge if I were to include boys. I am trying to limit myself to girls only just to keep my collection down. I am also hoping for a white skin SDgr Elena.

 

Tsukidoll and Seditionary, I know what it's like to wait for a re-release, and I know you do too. Unless you're really smitten by Belle, I'd say hang tough, and wait for your dream doll! Volks is constantly releasing and re-releasing gorgeous sculpts, so don't lose hope. I think Lorina was very popular, so I would think the chances are good that her sculpt will be seen again.

That said, I'm very happy I took advantage of the opportunity to get my Ruby from one of my friend's collections, rather than wait for Volks to re-release her. Being a less common skintone, and having stuck around in Volks inventory for awhile, I think they may have the idea that a re-release wouldn't be as popular. But we never really know what Volks is thinking do we? That's how they keep us on our toes, and coming back for more!

Your absolutely right julidc, about Volks keeping us on our toes and coming back for more. If I do decide to try for Belle, it would be because of liking her adorable mold alone (and potential of a customized face up), not to take place, or replace Lorina, or think that she will look like a Lorina with customization. ^_^

Tsukidoll- I think you answered your own question when it comes to this release. You mentioned that your not head over heels for Belle. I would recommend holding out for a Lorina of your own. It seems that is indeed what your Heart desires, and then you'll have no regrets later on!

 

Thanks Juli and Seditionary, I adore Lorina beyond words so I will just wait. I do love Belle and I know when I see customs I'll probably kick myself but I have wanted Lorina since she was first released and I just couldnt gather funds in time. I'll just have to drool on everyone else girls.
I will say Volks never disappoints! They always release such amazing dolls.

 

Zomg!!! Belle! She is just beautiful. I love her eyes. I sooooo want to see her profile. This Dolpa is going to be a killer. I even love Liz and I am not an MSD collector at all. Ouch.

On the subject of re-releases, well lots of people are hoping for old Volks dolls to become available again. Luna worshippers have been suffering in the Events forum for years! The most any of us can do is keep posting WTB threads and hoping Volks will chose to make our grail babies again. Until then...we keep enjoying the evolution of their new dollies.
