Volks Home Town Dolpa Kobe - July 31, 2011

Apr 14, 2011

    1. Refreshing for 21 mins, I've got all the items I wanted~ Good luck everybody~ ^___^

    2. YAY! Congrats!~

    3. Oh, congratulations, Weslie! I'm so glad you're going to get a Lorina!!

    4. Congratulations! I was rooting for you!

    5. Oh, sorry to hear it. Usually I open all items that I want in separate tabs and separate window with a shopping card, then I do reload all tabs in first window when the sale starts. When and if the content shows, press buy, and from then on refresh the window with shopping card about once per minute. Wait until the tabs where you pressed buy loaded then pick one of them and go to shopping card. Start the check out process. Every time when you get an error go back again and repeat the step. Do not forget to refresh shopping card in set aside window once a minute. Usually the load eases in 10-30 minutes. While you are refreshing the card the items will not disappear from there even if there is an error. I did like this two times already in the past and sometimes check out was delayed for an hour :sweat

    6. Thanks everyone!!!
Such sweet thoughts!! I really can't wait to get her, and I hope I can bring her home soon, so if I do I will post lots of pictures, before I send her off to get a new face-up, and after!!

    7. Oh, Weslie! It seems like it is meant to be for you :aheartbea I cannot wait to see your Lorina all finished up! I am so glad you got her! :3

    8. well i did two lotteries....didnt win, did the AE as well, didnt win, i think thats just saying it wasnt ment to be.

    9. Just when you think things have been bad enough they get worse, right?
I had to put my sweet bird to sleep last night because he was having non-
stop seizures. So I thought once again I would need to use my Lorina fund,
but small blessing, the vet saw how upset I was about my bird and she did
not charge me, because they don't normally treat birds & she happened to
be there & loves them. (her name is Dr. Goode too!)
      Mix of emotions right now.:(

@ GothicKDM don't feel that way! Otherwise I'm probably not meant to get
her either, and I refuse to think that XD ...sold three dolls & entered three
lotteries too. Who knows why it's more difficult for some of us to bring her
home, but it certainly doesn't mean those who win her easily deserve her
      more :) Don't give up!! :D

    10. Lula, I am so sorry for your birds!
I hope I can say this here. If you are interested, there are 2 Lorina for now on japanese auctions, and one is BIN at 129000 yens.
      Hope that helps!
      take care!

    11. Awww...this is great Weslie. there are so many nice people on this forum!!!! ^.^
Can't think of a better way to start a vacation!!! ^_~

    12. Congrats to everyone who got their dolls! I've had a bit of a mixed bag...Got a nice number at the Dolpa itself and scored Little Lorina, but didn't have the money at the time for big Lorina. Then went to the after event today, where my friend totally drew number 7 out of who knows how many, and my card didn't get to me on time from America to be able to buy her ;_; One of my friends at the Sato after event also got a good number and offered her to me and I couldn't do it. So today yet again I bought a Lorina for someone else. I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me and this doll, despite our crazy luck with lotto numbers! At least I did get Little Lorina, whom I love dearly, and today at the Sumika after event I got the burgundy SD kimono. So win some, lose some I suppose!

    13. Oh man :3" I lost in the Japanese AE too... that's 4/4!!! I think some higher power is trying to tell me to spend my money on something else (or do something crazy like, you know, save it)! Well... I guess I'll keep an eye on auctions ^^ ... or just wait to see what comes out in December since that's always a treat...

Lula78- I am sorry to hear about your bird T_T. I love pet animals and it's so sad when they go...

    14. Thank you aeris76 & Turynn! He was around 12 and I took over caring
for him (& his family: mate & 1 rotten baby lol) 7 years ago after their
owner fell ill & passed. He was an amazing little bird. Sry for going OT..

Turynn I know how you feel! Ever since losing the lotteries & AE I had
my doubts too and considered saving the $, it's so much money!
But after everything I've realized that I won't be as happy, so someone
is helping me get her...fingers crossed...
Are you looking on yahoo?? There are quite a few with good starting
prices...just don't bid on mine.. just joking ;):sweat
But if you really want her don't give up, I'm sure there will be TONS of
her FS after the AE dolls ship. Best wishes to you!

@aeris76....lol that's the one I'm hoping to get with the BIN....my PP is
officially empty and let me just say that I really really cried afterwards.
But I'm staying hopeful & positive! I've been waiting for Lorina since the
Huis Ten Bosch picture of her & Alice was released, so it feels like ages
      now.
And congrats to everyone who snagged Sumika items!

    15. There was no site error or refreshing problem going on-- the problem was the "Sorry, this item is sold out" messages accompanied by the complete lack of a working BUY button. Ever. ^^ After the kimono fell out of my cart, no amount of F5ing changed its mind. If there ain't no Buy button, there ain't nothing to press! No, it was simple Sumika AE Madness, which has happened before and will happen again... sometimes you get lucky with the timing, other days it's just not meant to be.

(Like others here, I am taking it as a Sign From Above that I have too damn many doll clothes awready. :aangel:)

    16. Turynn-4/4 that is crazy. There must not be as many Lorinas as there was Lieselottes last time. It seemed to me that more people won than lost and this time is seems more 50/50. I know what you mean about sometimes it seems like you can never get the doll you pine for. I had given up on getting a Yo-four sister, every time one came up I just couldnt pull it off and well this time I got one. Now I am just waiting for her to arrive. She is coming from Australia and man am I impatient. It took 3 years to get her and I am very happy.
Lula- I am so sorry to hear about your bird. I have lots of animals but it is always so hard when one has lived its life and has to go. It never gets easier. But you did the right thing and helped spare him pain :)

On another note has anyone posted a pole of winners yet? I always like to see the ratio of wins verses losses.

    17. I also won Piccolo, my birthday weekend must have brought me lotto luck! Did anyone win the other YOSD?

    18. A lot of winners.
Wow , it's really hard to get the items , a real war.
I didn't go to the after event, I was not fine.
I hope go to the Sumika next week, maybe all wasn't sold, XD

    19. Could anyone remember how much does lorina list for sale at Volks USA?

    20. She went for $1,210.00 at Volks USA. :3

    21. I love how people already have Market Place listings for the new dolls. Lorina is not getting shipped out til September.

    22. ??? The ones sold online will ship later... but there are Lorinas already out o.O...

    23. I'm so sad that I couldn't get Lorina. She is so beautiful and the clothes are to die for...I want a full version for myself.

I just checked e-bay and there are some listed for double the price. It is quite crazy...

    24. Yes... The Lorina on sale are probably from the original Japan DP. ^^

    25. I...just won a Lorina on the Japan-only Volks lottery O_o Apparently someone cancelled and my name got drawn! I feel a little dazed now. When I didn't get the email on Saturday I figured it was done. I'd kind of washed my hands of all of it, since I've already lost her three times here. And now I'll have her after all! Have kind of a weird feeling about it. I went to both Dolpa and the after event and couldn't get her, and actually the after event wasn't the best experience to be honest. I kind of have a negative feeling about the whole thing now. Hopefully that'll all melt away when I get her early next month! She is quite beautiful, and those clothes! The yen/dollar conversion is for once working against me though, because she came out to $1500 in the end.

I'm wondering how rare she is though. I'm not sure at what point she sold out at Dolpa itself, but at the Kobe Sumika after event there were only nine available. I'd say about, oh, 300 or so people were there? I wonder how many of her there were overall. Date was actually left over at the afterevent. He's the only one who didn't sell out.

    26. Just received the shipping notice for my Date Masamune :D Volks is shipping out the dolls fast!

    27. Just won a Lorina off of YJA...gonna have to sell a kidney, but I got her! Good luck to everyone trying through the auctions...it's vicious. At least a dozen (or nearly) people bidding on each auction :/

    28. http://www.volksusa.com/kobelorina.html
      She was $1,210

:Edit: Whoops, didn't realize that was page 73 and not 74, sorry about that!

Wow, what a stroke of luck! :D Congratulations on your surprise Lorina! I'm really happy to hear you got her, it sounds like she really wanted to come be with you after so many times missing each other.:aheartbea

    29. Right now eBay has both a Date and a Lorina for Buy-It-Now price of $2080... that may sound painful, but it's probably a better price than you'd get in a bidding-war!

Congrats to you chrissa5girl for hanging in there; auctions require some True Grit. ;;^^

    30. That's very good to know! Thanks so much! :D I'm waiting for my friend's Sakuya to be sent!

    31. I feel like I've got ants in my pants. I better hunker down and get to some projects while I wait it out. November can't get here quick enough.

    32. riventiana - Congrats! What a pleasant surprize! I am sorry to hear that the after event was less than stellar. And wow, Date was left over???

miyako – Wow, that is fast! Can’t wait to see the pictures.

Cloudedmind – I am right there with you! The wait is always the worst. Luckily, I have a couple of events coming up (Yaoi-con!!) that will hopefully keep my mind off getting my little Piccolo home.

    33. Congrats riventiana!! What a wonderful surprise for you!!

That's great chrissa5girl!! lol I know about the "selling a kidney"
bit, except nobody would want mine...so I had to sell some dolls XD

Anxiously awaiting my EMS tracking# for my Lorina, I hope he ships
her this week!!!!!! So excited to have my dream doll!!!!

    34. Congrats Lula! I feel really happy for you! ^_^

    35. Awww thanks so much aeris76!!!!

I hope you can get your Tamaki, best wishes!!!!

    36. Lula how did you get Lorina? I felt the same way as you, after losing all the lotteries I entered for her, but now it looks like we're both getting Lorina!!! Yay!!!!

    37. I am so happy for you. :-)

    38. SDGr Girl - High Heel version - height 58cm bust 23.5cm waist 16.5cm Hip 25.5cm sleeve length (from shoulder to wrist (under arm side) 19cm inseam (from crotch to heel) - 29.5cm shoe size 6cm by 2cm (width)

SDGr Girl - normal feet version - height 57cm bust 23.5cm waist 16.5cm Hip 25.5cm sleeve length (from shoulder to wrist (under arm side) 19cm inseam (from crotch to heel) - 28.5cm shoe size 6.5cm by 2cm (width)

    39. Thanks so much, anavel!!!

    40. Wow, so many are getting the Lorinas and Dates that they hoped for! I'm so glad it worked out for a lot of people. (And yay, Delilah! Congratulations!)

    41. Good news for those that still have not won Lorina/Date/DDs by now, it is apparent that Volks will have the leftover stock ready to be sold at tomorrow: www.volks.co.jp/en Note down the time and try to get the dollies in your carts before they disappear.

Bad news for those that went out of their way to grab these dolls, looks like there were left overs and Volks will be giving everyone the chance to click and check out tomorrow. I never understood how/why Volks can end up with 'leftovers' from the various international, domestic, US lotteries to still have enough, seems unfair to those who have already paid an extra fortune to bring the dolls home?

Well anyway, still good to see so many go around to new homes ^__^

    42. ;A; .... in the middle of the morning on a work day!!!!! Sadness!

Yes it's interesting how they don't have enough to fill lottery entries but then still have left over stock xD; haha...

    43. Thanks so much everyone! I'm kind of surprised to see that she's left over, because I've seen people at events here in tears over not being able to get her. I can't imagine they'd have that many left over! Though I have seen in general a surprising lack of interest in Date. Most people were going for either Lorina or Akira.

My guess is these dolls are left over from the online lotteries, because you had until today at 6 to pay. It's strange though because lots of people did enter and didn't win. Seems like they should be offered to people who entered first? It could be just another way to up the hype for them though, especially Lorina.

    44. Woohoo it seems that they will drop in prices again. Good! :D This will make so many people happy!

    45. I assume the leftovers are from lottery cancellations, people who either did not pay in time or whose payments did not go through. It's probably then easier to just stick whatever leftover stock they find they have on the website to sell then to run another lottery. I also wonder if any of the Sumika branches would ever return unsold in store AE items to Sato. I know when I was a retail manager if we didn't sell certain items within a certain amount of time, they were taken away from us and sent to a store that could sell them.

    46. I am hoping we do not have to wait now until October for our dolls to arrive. Keeping my fingers crossed they all come quickly :-)

    47. I'm not super upset because I couldn't pay all up front anyway, and the way I got Lorina I can make some payments over a short period of time :). Good luck to those who are going for the dolls!!

    48. This is my theory, too. They probably don't have a lottery system complex enough to do secondary and tertiary lottery rounds to deal with cancellations (I have been in ticket lotteries that can do this). I suspect that some Sumika leftovers go to the online store after a while because there have been sudden reappearances in the online store of LEs. However, I've also seen the same LE in the same Sumika for months afterwards as well.

I do wince a little these days at those who leap on Y!J auctions immediately because I think it's safer to wait until the dust settles. Almost no LEs sell out to the point where you can't get them later nowadays. Some people buy off the aftermarket before the AEs even start O_O. No doll company is at all responsible for what prices people pay on the aftermarket so it's seriously caveat emptor.

I went to the international site yesterday and got myself three of four things I wanted - the only thing I didn't manage was the yo zori. Here's hoping I can snag a pair when the Sumika items hit the US site later in the year.

    49. Now that you mention it, I'm guessing there must have already been a second round of lottery anyway. The first, at least in the Japan-only lottery, closed on Sat morning and then you got a mail between 4-6 pm and had until 3 on Monday to pay. Then I got my mail saying I'd won Lorina on Monday at 6 and they gave me a day to pay. My friend who entered didn't get a mail tho, which leads me to believe that they must have redrawn numbers for the cancelled orders. So now they're just putting what they still have left on the online store.

I second timid tho about stuff being in stock at Sumika or Sato well after the event. I'd be surprised to see Piccolo, Lorina, or Akira, but it's possible. There's still Hansel and Gretel and Daria around here and there, plus the occasional older LE like Ran. Most of the clothes are still around too, though the sailor outfits and kimono seem in shorter supply.

    50. I have very mixed feelings about this, but I won't go into it and have
anyone upset with me. I'm new to the Volks system. Although it does
not sound like a true system. More like an afterthought, as least with
how it's handled. And, while they can certainly do things however they
please, it is rather unfair to have these dolls @ after events when so
many entered their Lottery without winning. No second chances??

Anyhow, except for the fact that I'm still waiting for my Lorina to ship,
I'm not too upset with how I bought her. I doubt my chances would be
too good trying to beat thousands of other Lorina buyers @ Volks Japan
and I was able to split my payment. But if they have her FS on Volks usa
and she doesn't sell out in 5 minutes I'll definitely scream.

But why cringe at what people are willing to pay for any Volks doll on YJ
when I rarely see a used Volks LE sold for its paid price in the MP?
I was able to help two people in the process of purchasing mine, so that's
nice as well. I just wish she would ship already!! *_*

Best wishes to everyone hoping to buy one tomorrow!!!!! (?)

edit: @Weslie, I hired meow to purchase her with a BIN auction through YJ,
the price seemed OK to me....I was "impatient" I guess, but had such a bad
week that I really couldn't take it anymore and wanted her sooner than
      later. Oh well XD

    51. Just checking the website for international AE, both SDGr Lorina and Date are available for sale starting from this morining. I think many people win the lottery but not paid for the dolls. So, it may be the chance for those who have lost the lottery to buy the doll at reasonable price.

    52. Im just waiting to buy the doll now haha. Lorina will be up for sale soon at AE!

    53. I totally understand wanting Lorina despite knowing how much you're going to pay on YJA...if I'd had an inkling that there would have been any left, I probably would have waited to see if I could get a second chance...but do they always do this? I know that Volks USA sometimes will sell the LE leftovers but after seeing all the posts here on DoA, I just knew Lorina was beyond my grasp. So many people have seemed to try and not win. I may have jumped the gun by getting mine on YJA, but oh well...just have to sell a few things extra to make up. ;)

    54. Theres actually a sale now in Volks international Site. Due to start at 9am JP time today, they seem to be selling off whatever stocks they have of Lorina and Date away later.

    55. Lorina sure is gone quick.

    56. Wow...less than 15 seconds...
