Lost lorina ;-; my luck with Volks lottery is always poor. I think I will enter the AE lottery but I'm not sure how...

 

I wish I could enter the International but I only have $1,350 and no way
of getting the rest before it closes. There are no words for how I feel.

I'm sitting here pinching myself in disbelief for I won a Lorina thru Volks. Double firsts for me, my first lottery and my first Volks doll. I'm beyond thrilled! Now to decide on the Satogaeri services. I tried the search engine but really didn't find anything that current, a point in the right direction would be most appreciated.

Sato gaeri is usually indicated when you enter the lottery. But since your credit card has not been officially charged you can email Volks about wanting these services. They won't be in the office today so you won't get a reply until tomorrow.

Congrats to all the winners I hope Volks can figure out sato gaeri for sdgr... I have never been interested in it before but with all the new joints it seems like a decent price to pay compared to the time if would take me to do it myself

 

Thank you Izayoi! I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond. Perhaps I worded things incorrectly. Sato gaeri was not an option when entering the lottery as Volks was still deciding on it. A email was sent last night basically advising that the service was going to be made available giving five options. My dilema is in trying to decide if the services are necessary and if so which ones. I tried doing a search to find any current posts regarding this here in DoA but alas haven't come up with much.

 

Satogaeri is really personal preference. I don't care about having my dolls sanded, thus I never pay for it. I also found that coating them with MSC makes them get dirty faster, so I never want them coated. As for sueding, it's really easy and fast to just put hot glue in joints if you find your doll needs the extra grip sueding provides, so that I feel isn't a necessary expense either.

 

I /think/ you can only enter the Japanese AE if you are in Japan.

 

I agree with Kim... I never want the services with any of my dolls from any company... >.> The MSC coating attracts dirt and stain very easily! Plus, Volks dolls don't have huge or depressing seamlines (except in the hands and feet areas). XD I'd rather spend the money on outfits and stuffs for them. Just my opinion though!

 

Thank you Kim and fransyung! You really helped with my decision. I'm going to pass on the services, besides she'll be here a month sooner. From the way I understood the email, the seam line removal is only for the default hands and flat feet. I too, would rather shop for a few goodies or a nice stand. Again thanks!

 

Are all of the lotteries separate? If you win in the Volks USA, can you enter the international lottery?

 

I believe you can enter, but not for the same item that you already won. The goal is to let as many people win as possible and prevent people from scooping up multiples of a doll to scalp.

 

As a person who has purchased the seam removal before it is amazing how smooth those dolls become. I was truly amazed when I got Kurumi and she was so smooth and soft. I really think the seam removal is worth it, but that being said I dont always have the extra funds to get it so I usually do not but I wish I could. But Kim is right it isnt really necessary.
You can enter both the Volks USA and international site but they WILL NOT let you win the same doll twice. They will remove your entry if they see you have entered at both the USA store and international store it states this on the website under F&Q.

 

Thank you. That makes sense. So if I lost Piccolo in the USA lottery but won Lorina, it is okay to enter the international lottery for Piccolo and that won't affect the win. I was really worried.

It wont jeopardize your entry at all! Enter for Piccolo too he is too cute to pass up. You can enter for as many dolls as you like but if you win from one they cancel the other so no worries. Dont give up your chance to win someone you love. Personally, it I like 2 dolls and I have the funds I am going to enter for those two at every available place praying I win.

It's a mixture of date n lorina. Out of 7 people whomI know entered, 5 won. But no one seems to win piccolo yet.

 

I won Lorina. My friend who put in for me also won Lorina for me XD.

It would be Lorina twins but since another friend of mine wants - the spare Lorina will be going to her XD

Wow, it really looks like Piccolo was the hardest doll to get this Dolpa! Which amuses me since he's always been my fave YoSD and isn't the most popular of sculpts.

 

Makes me wonder if Volks didn't produce as many of him for that reason.

I'm hoping that with all the Lorinas that were won, there will be some put on the marketplace for a reasonable price so those that missed out can still get one. Fingers crossed for everyone!

 

Oooh, no Lorina for me from the AE. ;_; But that's ok... I fortunately found one not so much more expensiv at Y!J and got her! My agent won her for me, so I do have a Lorina coming home. X3

How much are they going for on yahoo japan? I can never figure that site out.

 

Right now there only seems to be two Lorina heads on YJ...

 

I think I got the last one... >< There was one for ¥150.000 yen that sold almost immediately on BIN, and I got the one for ¥130.000 on auction and 200.000 BIN. Thankfully I was the only bidder, so I got her for the lowest price. The conversion was a killer, but my agent "kinda" accepts layaway for a short time (you just have to pay half upfront) and it still was just ¥15.000 more than the AE price... oo/

But after the AE and all, hopefully more Lorinas will appear both at Y!J and here on the MP.

 

There were more Lorinas right after the Dolpa, but there should be a new batch of them when the AE dolls go out. I've seen people selling head and body separately, so if one isn't married to the fullset the doll can still be had if you're patient and persistent.

 

Getting the head and body separately will make her even more expensive. >.>
