    1. They'll probably fix the problem if we give them a little while. They justed posted this so maybe they haven't totally worked out the application yet.

    2. I'm gonna try my best to go, the last one was so fun! I'll be dragging my new BF along, hope it'll be equaly as fun ^_^

    3. I got through! Try it now!

    4. Oh I want to go so badly! I have the perfect costume to wear and I had so much fun at the Tea Party. I hope I hope I hope!

    5. trying, trying :( I get errors!

      edit: I got it! *WHEW* :D YAAAIIY i get to see everyone again! Now to think of a nice present to give that nice family :)

    6. My friend just got through (on my comp...hope that isn't gonna be a problem later...) Never give up!

    7. I just entered! I gotta work over time to finish three costumes! And I'm almost finished with the skirt that I'm going to wear.

    8. I just entered also :)I haven't started to make the costume for my doll:(
      Hopefully I would able to finish it on time >.<

    9. man its having trouble loading T.T ! *tries again*

    10. I still need to make Isabellas costume. But thankfully most of my costume is makeup. I don't have time to sew a full sized person costume right now.

    11. what is everyone's costume? :)

    12. i'm doing a tenten (from naruto) cosplay ^0^ and my doll kisa will be going as hinata~ im so excited!

    13. About an hour ago, I was able to apply and I received confirmation of my "order". But I believe a second Volks email will be sent to me confirming I am invited (that's what happened the last time anyway).

      Good luck everyone!:daisy

    14. I'll be a Gryffindor girl, I'm sure. My only Volks is already in a nice Chinese costume (yeah, I've yet to want to change him out of it) :)

    15. I'm not sure what costume I want to wear. My Chinatsu will be dressing up as a black cat though.

      I'm also trying to get my boy friend to dress up in one of his old cosplay costumes but he doesn't seem very enthusiastic :(

    16. blah... i'd kinda like to go, but my girl isn't from volks... would be kinda weird to go doll-less -__-;

    17. Took me about...six month to take my girl out of her outfit. She was in a very elaborate Chinese costume too. I was afraid I'd never get it back on...

    18. Ahh, I wanna go so bad but I don't think I can get off work since the day is so close to halloween... :< That and I'm still recovering from the August one... ^_^; Don't know if the same friends I went down with last time are going to this one so it's probably out. :<

      Ah well, I guess it can't hurt to ask tommorow or something... If I can get off then it might be doable. ^_^;

    19. Man, I wish I could go so I can get Melody checked up at the beauty salon. The irony of working for PMX. ;__;

    20. I went to the last L.A. Tea Party doll-less.

      You can also try "adopting" a friend's doll for the party, if you know someone who'd be willing.

      ...

      Figures that the one day I'm away from the computer they go and post the new stuff...! And it's not that obvious, the links to click...!

      I probably won't have time to make anything cool... (I'm not good at making stuff anyway!), but I think it'll be fun no matter what...

    21. I didn't have a doll when I went to the one last November and my friend went to the doll doctor to get her hand fixed...they had to take the doll and ship it back to Kyoto to get fixed! (VERY OLD Volks body. The Doll Doc was amused by how old her nono was.) Point being, neither of us had dolls! Yes, it was a little strange but we got to meet a lot of people and I ended up getting my Sylvie (which MUST have been fate). Just go!

      but if you go...all your sei-tenshi are belong to me should you win. My want, my ache, my longing for sei-tenshi is unhealthy....:mwahaha

    22. Oh, that sounds sad. But isnt PMX close by, since its around the LAX? I plan on going to PMX on Saturday with my friend nena, and you can actually get from PMX to the mansion within 20-30 minutes when theres no traffix. Im sure you could pop out for 2-3 hours and join us! :)

    24. I second the motion. Just drive down. My friend and I were technically staying in Costa Mesa in November. Drove up for the day, had our fun, got terribly lost, and drove back south. Sneak out for a couple hours. Fake stomach cramps? ;)

    25. wait a minute...what am I saying? I should be encouraging none of you to go! The less people come the better my chance of getting a Seitenshi without spending 2K on it! Uh, uh, uh... um...no! No one should come... I hear the door prize is going to be a fatal disease. So, you know. No one wants that....

    26. I'm intrigued to find out what the costume contest prizes are! :fangirl:

      Also, I'm not sure if they are giving out Sei-Tenshi this time. There isn't any description of a raffle or of bingo. :(

    27. Oops! I just read that there will be a lottery! Woot!

    28. I sent in my application for two tickets (a ticket for me and a companion ticket). I was wondering if anyone here - based on prior event experience with Tenshi-no-Sumika in Torrance - had any idea about how likely it is that a lottery will be required. The thing is, if I'm going to go, I need to know ASAP so I can make plane reservations (and hotel reservation and car reservations). Any help anyone can give me will be GREATLY appreciated ... Cindy

      P.S. If I don't get selected, what are the chances that someone here who does get selected will let me have their companion ticket? I know if I were to get a companion ticket, I don't have anyone specific in mind to go with me.

    29. Well, lemme tell you my history.

      When Volks had their opening party, they said there would be a lottery. When everyone received their tickets and I didn't, I merely asked them why I hadn't or if they had my correct email address. The next day I recieved two emails. One was an apology for not sending me an invite and the next email was my invite. So even though there was supposedly a lottery, I was still given an invite after the fact.

      The next party was the more recent one in LA. This party depended on you having all of the qualifications as well as a "supposed" lottery. I received my invite as well as everyone else who put in. (Atleast I think so.) Plus, they allowed guests this time. Everyone had a seat in the outdoors area as well. So my assumption is that they didn't hold a lottery.

      I think this time is going to be the same way. There seems to be even fewer people speaking up about going than last time, and they are still allowing guests. I was so sure (and it might come back to bite me) that I was going to get an invite that I bought my airfare and reserved my hotel as soon as the first announcement was made. My idea is this; if I don't get chosen, then I will try to find someone to latch on to. If that doesn't work, then my husband and I get to spend another day at Disneyland or something. :)

    30. I really doubt it will come to a lottery being the time of year that it is. I was more concerned with the summer party being a lottery and it didn't end up as one so unless there is a giant surge of halloween loving doll people coming to California I think everyone should be okay XD

    31. Yeah, it is school time, for some reason everyone's job is usually more demanding this time of the year, many people can't take off because it is too close to Halloween... and many people are just financially tapped from August and the recent online dolpa stuff. I would guess everyone who wants to go will go.

    32. It is close, although I'm not sure if my shift will go through the duration of the party or not. I'll figure out something, I hope. @__@

    33. I also don't think a lottery will be held *crosses fingers* It was easier for me to justify going during the summer and really I shouldn't be going while in school. Not sure I can afford to enter for any one-offs but it should be fun anyway.

      My suggestion for those of you who haven't gone is don't get your hopes up about winning a doll. Or at least don't have the mentality that it will have been a waste if you don't win. I think there were 27 (?) one-offs last time but like 200 guests. There were 2 other dolls as prizes and also 5 sei-tenshi. Still if you think about your odds of winning a doll they are not good. This is especially true if the one-off you're entering for is a very popular doll. Last time each of us only got to enter for 1 one-off. I entered for a Jun which was not suprisingly popular and I ran into several other people who had entered for her as well.

      I'm curious about the costume contests though. It looks like it should be a lot of fun :) I hope Volks realizes a lot of BJD fans also cosplay.. so there should be some nice costumes there. Too bad all my old cosplay stuff is in shambles ;_;

    34. This is the first party that I'll be able to attend so I'm very excited! All the pictures of the earlier parties made the event so attractive!:cool:
      I've already purchased my friend's and my airline tickets, so... *crossing my fingers AND toes* I sure am hoping that we'll be able to attend the party. :eusa_pray PLEASE!:daisy

      Questions: Is everyone, members and guests, allowed to participate in the lotteries and/or contests? Is it good to line up early? Does the party promptly end; anyone knows what time? I'd be grateful if someone could briefly describe what occurs during a party. Thank you for the info!:daisy:daisy:daisy

    35. okay... you guys have convinced me. :p i just applied for an invite... i guess i can at least dress up and take pictures of everyone elses dolls, right? ^^;

    36. There is no benefit to lining up early. Each person who attends gets a chance at a one-off. I line up early because I'm overly excited, and I think it got them a little peeved last time because we were all so early. So, show up about 1pm-1:15pm and all should be good. :)

    37. You can also take pictures of the gorgeous house and of the ungodly beautiful one-offs. :fangirl:

    38. mmm I'm still paying for the one-off (might sell him, really :/ Gotz the bills!) I want to go just for the event of it :) And I have an urge to torture my honey into attacking him with dolls.

      I am also curious about the costume contest. Sadly, I'm not that elaborate, I probably won't win a thing :(

    39. I applied, yay! ^_^

      I was planning to bring Shiva with me, but I'm tempted to bring my old Nasia to see the dolly doctor. Let's see them fix HER! :lol: Her stringing is sooo bad. ^^;

    40. im curious about the costume contest too! i wonder what will happen! even though i'll bring a costume i probibly wont enter im too shy T-T

    41. *** I have found a roommate for my trip. Thanks! ***

    42. hi cindyward~ i`m a girl, hehe. XD
      i just pm`ed you.. please let me know if you didn`t get it. ^^

      thank you. :daisy

    43. I also agree with not getting there early. We got there at like 11:45am and the guy outside seemed annoyed. He told us there was a starbucks nearby we could try going to. There isn't really anywhere to wait either so best not to get there before 12:45-1pm ^^;

    44. I just applied for a ticket.. some of you think that there wont be a lottery so I guess there IS a good chance that I might be able to go... but just in case... is anyone willing to take me as a guest if I dont get an invite for some reason? .. please Im begging you this will be my first BJD party...

      in case there wont be a lottery and someone would need an extra ticket, I ordered a ticket for a guest too so anyone can have it for free.. if I do get it...

    45. As of the last party, companions do have to enter with you. You show your ID and they use that to verify you. So not possible to give away that "ticket", the person will have to enter with your.

      Just a note, last party entry form was also automated, and went well, no lottery done so most likely everyone will be invited. The Shigetas are very good about this, the house has lots of room.

      Um, having a Volks doll was not a requirement last time, and doesn't appear to be this time. As for the Volks Owners, what they do now is when a person purchases a doll from the US website or the store, they are entered at that time as a Volks Dollfie Owner. They just aren't entering any more photos on the website.

      and best not to get there early, you will just end up standing in line on the sloping walkway. There is no need for it, there is plenty of food, lots of time to gawk at all the dolls, and plenty of seating.

      while it's not easy to win a doll, I will say, it is possible :)

      just a note, if anyone is planning on doing a FCS the day before, it may be very crowded so plan on it taking a bit of time. Volks only has so many people to do the orders, they take time.

      and having been to the first two parties, everyone has been very nice and polite and has had lots of fun! What I want to know is what the Shigetas are going to be wearing!

    46. Need to make it clear that this is Super Dollfies (anything with SD in the name, Mini Super Dollfie, Super Dollfie 13, etc) -only-, 1/6 Dollfies do not count, nor do Dollfie Dreams.

    47. :sweat While I'm certain everyone knows this is a Super Dollfie event, Volks is really low key, if you bring one of their products it's highly doubtful they wouldn't allow it. There was someone who brought their Dollfie Dream to the event last time.

    48. This is going to sound kind of crabby -- although I'm really not a crabby person -- but I certainly hope that people aren't just automatically entering for a guest even if they have no intention of bringing one. At the last party, I entered for myself and my husband, because I was really hoping that he could come, but it ended up that he couldn't make it. When I was checking in, they specifically asked me where my guest was and seemed disappointed that I hadn't cancelled for one in advance. So, this time, since I knew that he couldn't make it, I only entered for myself. I'm sure that Volks not only uses the total number of people who entered to determine if there is room for everyone, but also to order food for enough people. There was loads of leftover food at the last one, which seems like a real shame and waste for Volks.

    49. I didn't enter for a guest. I'm hoping there is no lottery and that we find out something soon as I need to purchase my plane ticket an find a place to crash while I'm there. Too bad my uncle moved. -_-

    50. I was talking about what the list is, the list is for SD owners only, which is why it's called the SD owner list.

    51. Oh I misunderstood what you originally wrote, but I'm sorry that's not true either. If you order ANYTHING from the Volks USA store, you're automatically put on the owner's list. It is not limited to just Super Dollfie dolls. Whether it's a pair of shoes or a full doll, you are in the system.

    52. i`m sorry, but i think there`re two lists.. volks membership list and super dollfie owners list. =)

      everyone who have ordered at the website or have registered at tenshi no sumika are in volks membership list.. and if you have registered in the super dollfie owners list at the volks japan international website, then you are in super dollfie owners list. [ registration is now closed ]

      i think that`s the one usagi665 is talking about.. ^^;;

    53. Yes the last one is what I was talking about, maybe I misread the first post too :sweat

    54. Do you have to have an ID? I only have an old school ID from last year ^.^;; I havent gotten around to getting my drivers license yet. They only government ID is my passport but I dont like to carry it around :sweat

    55. Na. You just need the print out of your invitation I think... I don't think I had an ID last time.. The only one I'd have would be my store card anyway since I STILL haven't gone out and gotten my liscense or a CA ID card.... -_-:doh

    56. ^^ Yes I know she was talking about that list. Since the NY dolpa, Volks has combined them together. So now it doesn't matter whether you were on that original list or on the VolksUSA list.

    57. Well none of that matters anyways. This is a "Volks Appreciation" Party. Thats what they call it. So they are just appreciative of all their customer. =D

    58. Damn double posting!

    59. I'd like to see what Volks has to say about this claim..there are several degrees of Volks memberships in Japan, why would there not be several degrees in the US as well?

    60. I went to the last two events and took my daughter as a guest. I did not have to show ID (or my membership card) in order to confirm who I was, only the invitation. I believe they did have a check off list this last time though. I can't remember whether this was the same for the grand opening (too excited at the time I think ;)

      I don't think Volks limits the attendance to only those who own Super Dollfies. At least that is my impression based on the last event. The first was a bit more limited.
