FINALLY Volks updates their standard faceups to be more "with the times", so to speak! Thanks for the news, Ria!

 

Oooh! Yori looks far less pink. I hope that more people will consider buying her now. I know people were put off by the old face-up.

I'm kinda sadden by the new faceup for SD Kun. She looks less lively.

 

glad to see Volks moving in the times with the other companies; in my opinion they were getting a bit dated and falling by the wayside. I hope to see some more experimental dolls too

? no none of them are SDC, these are updated Volks standard SD and SD13. The boys aren't new.

...and now, odd as this is, I'm kinda glad that I bought my Syo earlier this year. I had no problems wiping his faceup and giving him one that more suited his character--but I think I might have had problems wiping the new version...it looks a lot softer, with more shading around the eyes...which I like, but which still doesn't suit the character. XDDD

 

Oh wow, new faceups! I like Sara/Nana/Megu's faceups better but poor Kun isn't as cute as she used to be.

I was planning on buying Nana next year but now I like Sara or Megu better.

 

Oh wow, Nana, Sara and Megu's new face-ups look more like the YoSD four sisters. :3 Much nicer. I just bought my Megu at Dolpa NY and that face-up was just... D: I had to wipe it right away. But the YoSD face-ups weren't bad at all.

 

I can't wait to see the MSD's... the SD's look awesome with their new faceups.

This make up is better than older.
But I was waiting for a news on bodies, new heads on FCS...

Elena's new one looks muuuch better than her old, in my opinion - it's the eyebrows, she looks more, um, intelligent >.> she looked kinda silly before. Her description wasn't helping much either, you read it and you go, "Hey, I just realized what she reminds me of...!" She's really a nice mold =/

...speaking of eyebrows, Kun's are yellow O.O I think it's just the picture, but if they're really like that I can't imagine that looking good with any wig but a highlighter-yellow one.

 

Yeah, as someone above mentioned, many of these new faceups are very similar to their Yo-SD counterparts that were just released. And I noticed that Yo-Kun has the blond/yellow eyebrows in promo pics, too. Which is not a look I particularly care for, but hoped that in person they would seem darker (because maybe it was just the promo pics?)

But comparing SD Kun to the faceups of the other dolls (which seem to be taken with the same lighting conditions/angles), the light eyebrows are undeniable and rather distracting

 

Ooooooh, I'm loving the new face-up on Yori! Well - they all look wonderful, but Yori really stood out to me.

I had grown so used to Megu's default that the new standard strikes me as a bit odd... I don't mind the price hike so long as they'll be released in UV-protect resin @_@

 

Wow! Neat to see the new standard faceups. I like Kun's new look... the gentler expression suits her well!

Wow, 18 pages of discontinued wigs??!! I better check twice and get all the ones I wanted before they are discontinued.

 

I'm so excited! I love the new faceup's on them, it makes them look more fresh. But I agree with Kun, she looks less lively. I better get my hands on some of the wigs before they get discontinued. I can't wait for the FCS now, I'm getting more and more impatient!

I just noticed that Kira is still missing from the lineup of Sara/Nana/Megu, I know that Volks had never released her in pureskin, but does this mean they're scrapping her entirely? The four sisters will be three now!

 

I cant believe they would do away with the basic long wig cut straight with straight bangs >_< I may have to buy Umeko a 2nd wig as a backup

 

I love Megu and Kun's new faceups! So tempting...but I am glad that they are updating their wigs.

 

Since I saw the new standard updates, I've been dying to hear the FCS news!!! I think Yo FCS would be fantastic.

 

I love the new Mimi13 faceup! The rest look very nice too, though for some reason I'm not fond of Kun's new look.

Wow, they sure are discontinuing a LOT of wigs though. W-55 and W-100 for SD's are favorites of mine . . . methinks a Volks order is in order.

Yeeeeeeah, I have to say I agree with this notion...
Personally, while it would be awesome to see an SD17 FCS, I would be equally thrilled with more optional hands (especially for SD13 boys!!) and more eye colours to choose from.

Agreed. Let's bump a good chunk of Sato-only heads to Sumika, more hands, more masculine wigs for boys, and maybe we could tweak the elbow-joints so the dolls can touch their face. New eye colors would be nice. The "purples" they have now aren't purple enough for me.

 

I'd like to be able to buy some extra optional ears. And human optional ears for the MSDs!

 

I was at the LA store today. It seems that on some wigs, only certain colors are being discontinued. They will be availible until they sell out, though. From what I was able to gather, it seems that Volks is updating the colors they offer in wigs. I'm sure there will be a different brown, but I can't remember what else I heard.

Also, the LA store won't get the new line up for at least a month after the stores in Japan get it. When they do get it, there should be an announcement on the store blog.

 

I loved the new face-up of 3 sisters ^^-, but...... 60.000?.......omg =_-

 

It's just under $30 more in increase. Compare that to if you order it by FCS 80,640yen though FCs prices are going up too soon

LE Kira is lovely! Her makeup and dress are really beautiful. And I can't wait to see more pics of the new Yo-Tenshi. I love the little angel dresses they're wearing. I think I need to make one for my Yuh now .

 

OMG! Kira has finally made a comeback! I am completely speechless! Here I was, thinking Kira would be scrapped for good!

I LOVE the very old SD body, it is my favorite and the reason why my only SD is oldskin. ^__^ I actually put off buying another SD because I dont like the look of the newer bodies as much as the old. While the new SD bodies are lovely in their own right, the old ones have much detail and look more alive in my opinion.
In the pictures it seems Kira has the old "arch" back.
I wonder if all SD will have the "origin" body?
Mimita- I wouldnt jump the gun just yet, the official FCS information has not been released yet. We still have a bit of hope.
