Volks Dolpas in August - Discussion thread

Ah, those MSD/SDC sailor outfits are SO cute, I wish I had a girl that would wear one! I hope to see pics of it in the gallery from you guys that are getting it.

I splurged and preordered one of those military sets for boys and a bunny bag, so I passed on the Yo-SD girl outfit. Hopefully Volks USA will get some in eventually, since they do have several past Yo-SD dress sets. I guess it depends on how popular they are.

 

poot, i wanted the bunny bag! ah well. i already sorta have 3 outfits for gweyn, the boys sailor suit, blue playtime set, and blue bear outfit. i'm getting all 3 for only 75, my friend loves me, lol. i'll have to buy her some dresses though, so she wont be a tomboy, lol. i hope volksusa has some dresses in before christmas! congrats to everyone who got outfits!

 

Argh! Stupid phone company! I didn't even get a chance to try for the outfit I wanted because the &#*()#^(*T#ing phone company decided to disconnect our service for no reason at all the day after the bill was paid! I am not happy. >o

 

was anyone able to get a yo doll from this after event (japan, not US)? just curious i guess...

 

I gave up on every getting a yo boy (for anything under a mint) and just bought a leekeworld boy (I like my leeke girl). But I was happy to get a few of the aftersale clothes for the yo sized (other volks yo stuff has fit my girl) and for my sd and sd13. It was frustrating and stressful though.

 

I wasn't, but it's just as well, I guess -- Bambicrony Gun suits my guy more than Kuuta.

 

I got both YOs from the japanese AE, but I totally missed out on the outfits the day after. I figured they wouldn't sell out as fast so I slept instead. Hahaha, big mistake. ^_^; Some of it is still in stock, but those bunny suits were all gone when I woke up 6 hours later.

 

thanks to the help of my boyfriend I was able to order tinatsu.

did you receive another mail from volks? I just have the reservation number,that's all...

 

same as you, I only received a pre order number for my yos.

LOL. The bunny suits sold out like three minutes in, so don't worry, some people who were on as soon as it opened weren't even able to get 'em. You were better off getting some sleep~

I don't know if I'll ever try for an AE again, that was insanely stressful...

 

maybe volks will send the emails after they shipped the other dolls and items from the After Event

i was curious as to if it was even possible to obtain any of the yo's via the after event on the international side (read lots of comments of volks web server problems and what not). i tried myself and had no luck.
congrats to those who did... though i kinda hate you (in an envy way, not actual *hate hate* form)

 

I'm with you on that kisaracutie, I'm happy for those who got there dolls, but bitterly jealous at the same time. Ah well, my time will come.

Actually the only thing that gets to me is that there are people (and not DOA people, but people elsewhere) who will buy anything they can just to resell it for a profit. The ones here, we all love these dolls and while may sell dolls we've got that we dont bond with or when strapped for cash, we dont buy just to create a shortage so we can just turn around and sell it for more money. I really want to buy one and dont mind the secondary market but I dont want to encourage those who buy just for monetary greed. phew, off my soap box now.

 

has anybody who paid for their USA lottery doll with a cheque had it cashed yet? Mine hasn't been and it worries me that they never got it.

 

I didn't pay with cheque, but credit card, and I got my payment confirmation back on September 8th It does seem to be getting late..if no one else posts about it I think I would contact them, if I were you.

 

hm... They should have gotten it days ago; certainly long enough to deposit it and have it clear. If I don't hear from them and $400 doesn't disappear from my account by tomorrow I suppose I'll fax in my credit card info as back up. (Now I just have to find the thing!)

 

i see people do that too, and it makes me mad! buy the doll because you truly want it, and not to make a big profit on it! my mom would have never bought me a yo on the second hand market, i told her the going price, and she thought i was totally crazy. it makes the people who really want the doll, but can only afford the lottery price to never get one! isn't there supposed to be another dolpa in december? lol, my bank account is sobbing already.

 

usagi665, how long after you sent your credit card information did it take for them to e-mail you a payment confirmation? I'm getting a bit concerned as well. Does Volks usually always send you a payment confirmation?

 

Mm, it can take like 10 days for a check to clear, and Volks is kind of slow about things there cause they have such limited hours there (if they got it at the beginning of the week and waited until the end of the week to cash it, well... there's an extra week's wait! Hell, my check for this month's rent didn't show up until today, and I paid it over two weeks ago ). Did you put delivery confirmation on the envelope you sent the check in?

If not, I would email them before faxing your credit card information, lest they accidentally charge you twice...

 

I sent in my payment the night we got our confirmation e-mails. This is my first web Dolpa so I'm not really sure what usually happens

 

Wow I'm worried then! I sent my payment to them (credit in an email) only yesterday, because I had a lot of college stuff getting in the way >< I hope they get it in time! I don't want to miss out on my Chinatsu...

 

Mm, I think we're having a bit of a miscommunication. Are you saying that after you sent in your payment, Volks e-mailed you back that very night and confirmed that they received it? Or are you saying that you paid them the night they confirmed you won?

My concern is that I e-mailed them with my payment information, but I have never received a confirmation from them indicating they received it.

 

I'll make a little timeline of my order..

August 20th - Sent in my order for Syo Sweet Dream.

August 23rd - Volks confirms that my order e-mail was received.

August 28th - I receive the e-mail saying I did win Syo-SD, and I send my CC payment the same night.

September 8th - Another e-mail comes confirming that they got my CC payment and have processed it.

Hope this helps anyone still wondering if their payment is taking too long

I see it took them over a week to confirm your payment, so I won't worry quite yet. It's only been about 5 days for me.

 

I wouldn't worry too much yet if you just sent the payment info yesterday. It took them a week to process my husband's payment after he sent the info. As long as you sent it by the deadline, you should be fine. If in a week you haven't noticed the money gone, then you might want to contact them. Everyone has until the 15th to pay; try not to worry yourself too much before then

 

^_^ Thanks very much for the reassurance. I really needed it! I'm a real worrywort sometimes~ it's rather embarassing. I'll make sure to check on how much money I have by next week to see if they got the payment alright!

I got my payment confirmation today - Did anyone else who was worried get theirs?

 

I emailed a day or two ago to ask if my cheque had been received and I got a payment confirmation today. I presume they sent them to everyone, not just me because I asked. I'd say if you paid via cheque/m.o. and didn't get one to send an email or fax with cc info just in case.

Mm, haven't gotten mine, but I put delivery confirmation on it when I sent it, and usps.com says it was delivered this morning, so I'm not too worried about it... since it's not due till tomorrow.

Nope, I'm talking about the Japanese after-event acutally. All I did was order clothes so maybe confirmations for the dolls work differently?

 

Nevermind, I just got it! I didn't get one right after I ordered from the after event, but the one I got like 15 min ago was for it being shipped. Mwahahaha~ my cute outfits are on their way!!

 

I got it during the day on the 14th, but i only ordered 6 things, all yo-sd outfits.. underwear sets, and kuuta and tinatsu's outfits.

I've gotten my confirmation of shipping and the actual billing from my AE (japan) clothing order. Yeah.
I know they charged for the doll or at least preauthed the day of the AE when I placed the order because my CC company called within seconds to confirm that I had authorized the payment. No confirmation that the doll was sent, but from what I read they on the Japan website is that it might be October. So I'm trying to be patient.

 

OMG got my payment confirmation email for Tinatsu! So so excited! The Volks YO-SDs are just amazing! Thier bodies feel so different from others that size!

 

I got my sweet dream show from the japan ae today. Wow, I didnt even get a he's been shipped email.

Holy cow that definitely was VERY fast! I thought that they were going to ship them off in October.

 

Actually, I think the only notice about being sent in October was for Chinatsu and Kuuta. I think those 2 were pre-orders (because the demand for them was so high), where as the others were leftovers from the Dolpa. But who knows with Volks; I could be way off

 

Show is amazing. We had a doll meet today (so it was great he arrived yesterday). He was a big hit. Pics will be posted soon.

Syo-SD's eyes are HG glass green in 18mm.

 

I asked volks yesterday about my payment notice. they said that they will send the emails at the end of october. we have to wait a little bit longer...

 

I have no idea where my clothing is. it says its being held at the post office since Monday, but I still have no notice to pick it up. I worked from home all day yesterday, just in case someone tried to deliver it then. Sigh.
Thanks for the eye color on Show. Even with bright light you cant really tell. I'm debating opening his eyes another millimeter or so but cant decide (and scared too).
Too bad on the wait for the Kuuta's. That means my hopes of getting one on resale will need to wait until even after that.

 

Sooo... stupid question perhaps. Never bought a doll online before. Payment Process notice. Is this different then "she's on her way!" notice? Sigh... I want my Tinatsu soooo bad... I am being way-overly hopeful. I know some of ya have your dolls arleady but it seems like only the sweet-dreams are out... I don't WANNA have to wait until...? End of November? (cry!) Would it make any difference in ETA if I won her during the Dolpa and not the AE?
