Volks Dolpas in August - Discussion thread

SailorLimaBean- Did you get her through the International site or VolksUSA. People who are getting shipping notices went through the International site. VolksUSA said they'd start shipping theirs out the first week of October.

 

Payment confirmation means they got your money and it's been processed. Shipping confirmation is a totally different thing. It makes all the difference in the world if you ordered through the web Dolpa or the after event- people who won with the AE already have their things, we Dolpa winners have to wait until October.

 

Of course for the Yos they did say on AE page that you would have to wait until October if you are an international customer.

BTW: I got my AE outfit today for Kaede!! ^_^

OOH! The sailor one!? Will you take a pic of her in it!? I wanted one of those, might just have to hit up YJ for it.

Did the people who got yos ever get any email about them to begin with, or just confirmation on the website? It sounds like people have had conflicting experiences...

I have the boy yo outfit too, but so far no yo sized boy at home (but 2 on the way and negotiating payment on a kuuta right now!)

 

And now I'm getting a Kuuta thanks to a wonderful DOA member!
I went from no yo-sized boys to waiting on three!

 

VolksUSA just put up a bunch of AE stuff!!

Couldn't find the bunny bags... But they do have the yo's outfits, and the sailor outfits (I got both colours... I'm so awful...)

 

I'm so glad you were able to find those! I got a couple of items I missed on the Volks JP AE sale too...

 

Too bad there are no bunny bags up..that's the only thing I would have bought.

 

The bunny bags were still in stock on the International site last night. I was going to get one as well as a couple other items, but I decided to sleep on it to make sure I wanted to spend the money. I woke up sure that I should go for it and of course the bunny bags were out of stock again. I should have gotten them last night!

I'm really thinking about picking up Tinatsu's outfit, although $64 is steep to me. *ponders*

Did anyone get the Sato-Gaeri services? Those people will have to wait even longer! ;__;

 

No, I opted not to get the Sato-Gaeri simply because I didn't want to wait the extra month. And seam lines never really bothered me X3

 

I didn't get the Sato-Gaeri services, because even though I absolutely love how smooth my one boy is (was sanded by Volks), I didn't want to wait a whole other month waiting for him to arrive. Pureskin seams really aren't that bad anyway, if they were still using oldskin I probably would have opted for the sanding.

 

Ahhh, well at least I can live vicariously through all your photos and posts while I wait the extra month. I figured, if I'm spending nearly a thousand dollars anyway, what's another hundred? XD Oh woe is me. Hehhehe!

 

I got the Sato-Gaeri services, all three. Sigh... Kinda wish I didn't know. Not only did that really make my Chinatsu expensive but...glah, I want her nooooooow~! She has a ton of clothes I want to put her in....

 

I didn't bother with the Sato services because even though I looooooove how smooth my Kohya is, seam lines don't really bother me and I didn't feel like waiting the extra month for my Syo to come home.
If he does come with really bad seams I can always sand them myself.

 

I got my Syo with no services. I got him from the international site and was amazed that he arrived in a week. On an ironic note, got the email that he was shipped more than a week after he arrive.
I dont find his seems to be bad, but the biggest difference I saw was without the sueding he doesnt hold a pose as well as my Michael who had full serviecs. Its like night and day. He can stand and hold a pose, but it takes more work and there are fewer poses he'll hold. I am going to attempt to do my own sueding (although I may try another doll as my first sueding attempt).

 

Michael is shorter and has a totally different body..it's probably best to compare posing among dolls with the same body. My F-15 was sueded by Volks, I'll compare him to my Syo-SD when he arrives since they have the same body.

According to the tracking bumber, my Kuuta is in the main city.

 

My Kohya from VolksUsa took one week to arrive so I'm anticipating Syo coming home next Thursday or Friday

 

Just got ship con for my SD Nana from volksusa! ee~~

I didn't think they were going to ship until next week, how exciting!!

edit: Oh, and in reference to the ship time, my last volksusa order only took three days to arrive, so I'm assuming people on the west coast can expect them tuesday or wednesday!

 

All of our dolls & other items should be in stock and ready to ship next week!
We also have the new Halloween outfits available!

If you don't live in Phoenix, that means he's headed to the UPS station where you live. Like, if you live in Mesa or whatever. So you'll probably get him Monday, but I hope I'm wrong!

 

Today was full of fail because I skiffed my LSAT

Today was also full of win because I checked my email and got my Chinatsu shipping confirmation.

I am bummed and happy at the same time. Wooooo! (Let us ignore that one of these is much more important than the other ;p)

 

I have not gotten my Kuuta yet, but got my clothes and my Tinatsu

I got my ship notice for Sweet Dreams Nana too. I am excited to see her at last. I am relieved they use UPS. The Post Office always adds an extra day or two because I can't get to the door fast enough and they just leave a note. Then I have to wait until the next day to get it at the Post Office. Sometimes they don't even ring the bell, just stick the "we missed you" card in the mailbox!
I did order dolpa clothes from both the international and USA sites. They came really fast. Wow the Volks clothes are made SO well!

More folks need to be posting arrival pics! :P My own Chinatsu got reschedule for delivery because UPS got the postal code wrong. Boo. I was really looking forward to getting her today.

...I also noticed that the weight is listed as "14.00 lbs" on UPS.com o.O That's one heavy Yo!

 

That's weird, it says my Syo-SD weighs 14 lbs..and Yos and SD13 boys obviously have a different weight

 

Gah, my Kuuta definately does not weigh 14lbs, but that is what the box says. I really hope they charged shipping based on actual weight and not what the box says

 

Akane, you haven't gotten your Kuuta yet? I thaught you would get him on Monday like me.

 

I got my Nana today!!! EEK! She's so sweet, I'm absolutely infatuated with her... I even like her outfit, which I was originally planning on selling. I hope everyone else is as happy with their new sweetlings as I am!

(Methinks I'm going to have to upgrade her girlfriend to the swarriko body now... )

I'm assuming they did; UPS is really expensive either way ($8 for my Yo Tenshi dress set. ouch.) and horrid to deal with, but I think shipping would be more for something that actually was 14 lbs. I don't remember how much it cost to get my SD13 sent via UPS, but I think it was more than $11. (And SD13s aren't 14 lbs, either -- not by a long shot -- but whatever.)

He's usually here by now. Figures he'd be late today.

 

Last time around he came at like 8pm. I answered to door all grumpy because I thought it was just going to end up coming the next day. They take way too long! And it was out for delivery at 4am

 

Still waiting for Chinatsu as well ^^ But I ordered thru Kerbey lane so I'm not expecting her for another week yet.

 

Volks sent me an email saying she went out on the 29th (bites nails). I hope she comes today (frets)
