Volks Dolpa 31 Discussion

Apr 4, 2014

    1. Thank you Fioletta !

Auugh, why is it that everyone either omits the page with the steampunk boys outfits, or the quality is so low I can't tell what outfit is for what size??? T_T

    2. I have my heart set on Yo Rinon but if I can't get her, I would be happy with Elena too. They may not have the same sculpt but they are both adorable! :3

    3. Thank you for the link

Yes the new standards are different molds
Coco is more cheeky very cute indeed

    4. The male steampunk-ish outfits, since you asked:

      Cool Sapphire: SD13B Longleg, SDGrB
      Stylish Emerald: SD16B, SD17B, SDGou
      Suede Blouson: SD13B, SDGrB, SD16B, SD17B, SDGou

    5. very happy that Tae comes again with Gr body!!
      waiting for AE

    6. Ooh I love the new standards and yosd. Yo Kanata is s cute!

    7. Tempest_Strife

Try to increase the scale of the page in your internet browser.

    8. Oh man, I'd love a Yo Elena. But if she is not availabe via the International lottery or WLD then I won't be able to get her. Bummer. I guess that decides it for me. I love Anais but I really do not have room for another big girl. I am trying to choose who I add from now on very carefully. I love that there are new standards but I'll need to wait to see customs before I decide on who I like. I love the Sailor girl outfit and if WLD gets them I may try for it.

    9. I love the detail on the blue SD dress. I don't know how I can even attempt to get one, but I will! I also love the new standards. There's something about Saki that I really like.

    10. I really like yo Rinon and Kanata, ahhhh my wallet just died from the previous AE...
I'm just so tempted to swap my Piccolo for a Kanata.

    11. I was looking at the Dolpa 31 site and it looks like the dolls are sold at Dolpa as well as the after event but can also be ordered at Dolpa? As a Llimited sale? So maybe we'll see that on the international site too? That would be awesome.

      http://www.volks.co.jp/dolpa31/volks_sd01/

(Will be delivered mid-June) and limited sale + limited quantity orders in [31] Dolpa Dolpa venue
(※ limited sale after the end of, the reservation is received in limited quantities.)

    12. What this generally means is that Volks is behind schedule in production. They have planned to make X copies of a doll, but have realized that only {X - Y} will be ready in time for Dolpa. So, they'll have {X - Y} physical dolls available, and when those run out, the "remaining" Y dolls will be orderable for delivery to your house once they're made.

Sadly, it does not mean Volks is making the dolls easier to get than they normally would be.

    13. If my understanding is correct that means the two SDGr girls will not be available at AE!? :(

      http://www.volks.co.jp/page.jsp?id=106749&version=jp

This announcement from Volks confirmed what I thought...the two SDGr Girls are only going to be released in Japan and there will be no AE on them...:(:(:(

    14. Hmm … that is weird. Maybe they will offer them as pre-orders?

    15. This is very disturbing news. Taken with the closing of the sumika in Los Angeles, it looks like a return of the bad old days when we resorted to Frank's Doll and Hobby shop. Things seem to be drawing back to Japan without regard for the international market...or is it just a couple of odd things together?

    16. I'm wondering if it's because from the last limited doll releases, they haven't sold out and end up sitting on the international site for a while. So maybe Volks figures they are making too many? That's why I was thinking maybe the girls would end up in as a pre-order?

Anyone who's interest, maybe email Volks and ask them? Maybe if they see a flood of interest, they will make sure that the International market has an opportunity to buy them.

    17. That's not really what I'm getting from the page. This line here: ご予約分のお届けは6月中旬予定につき、ドールズ・パーティー31 アフターイベントよりお届けが遅くなります。予めご了承くださいませ。 is coming up through Google translate as 'Because of a scheduled mid-June, delivered reservation minute slower than be delivered Dolls Party 31 After-event. Please note.' It does state that buying the 'reservation minutes' (in essence a pre-order for dolls at Dolpa when the on-site quantity has been handed out) cannot be shipped to foreign countries. But this doesn't explicitly state that the dolls will not be available for the AE. If there's something on the page that says otherwise, please let us know.

    18. From the DP31 page, all the yo-sds has a line clearly defines the availability on AE but that line is missing for SDGr Girls. Also, since they don't ship oversea, I believe the dolls will not be available on international order site.
From past experience, the 数量限定受注 ("limited pre-order") are usually done in Dolpa as they offer the pre-order tickets there so I don't think it's open as an AE.

      SDGrG:

I've also sent an email asking about it to Volks already, hopefully they'll get back to me soon...

    19. I think the reason the line about the Yo's being offered at the AE is because all of the previous standards that had Yo versions made of them were never offered at the AE, and I know a lot of people asked for the previous Yos to be offered at the AE. As for the line being omitted for the SDGr girls, it really doesn't mean anything because that line isn't usually on any of the limited dolls; usually the opposite is the case. If a doll isn't going to be offered at the AE, they usually state that the doll isn't being offered. I think it is just different with the Yos this time.

Actually Volks does ship internationally because they have their international website, but they do not ship outside of Japan from any of the Dolpas. So if you win a pre-order doll at the Dolpa, you have to have a Japanese address for it to be shipped to. I doubt any of the limited dolls will be pre-order on the website, but that does not mean because they are available for pre-order at the Dolpa that they won't be offered at the AE. This has happened before and in most cases dolls that had pre-orders at the Dolpa still showed up at the AE. Until Volks says otherwise, I wouldn't assume they aren't being offered.

    20. No, the SDGr girls will be offered at AE. Don't worry.

I don't know if anyone scanned this one or not, but page 97 of Volks News 58 confirms all of the items that will be in the AE -- and all the dolls are on the list.

    21. I think the SDGr will be at AE because it does say that if you place an preorder the dolls are scheduled to ship in June which is later tha AE dolls

    22. Yep, all the dolls (YoSD, SDGr, DD, DDS) will be at the AE as well.

The only slight restriction on that is the three YoSDs, which will be at Tenshi no Mado (Harajuku), Tenshi no Sato (Kyoto), and online only. The Yo's won't be at other Japanese stores. Everything other than the YoSDs will be at all of Volks' Japanese stores and online.

    23. I see I see. You might be right :) It'll be great if they'll all be available :D

    24. What I wrote about the dolls at the AE is what Volks says in VN58, so unless they change their mind it will be correct ^_^;;.

    25. Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone knows the Dolpa 31 guidebook ever sells out? I missed the release by a couple hours just then and I'm planning to go to Tokyo soon. I wouldn't wanna go through a trip and then find out that I'll be denied admission at Dolpa.

      Any ideas?

    26. The Dolls Party guidebook can sell out, yes. Depending on when you get to Japan, you can go to a Volks store and see if they have any left.

If they do not, you can still go to Dolpa by buying a guidebook at the door. But there is a downside: you won't be able to buy any limited dolls and you'll be last in line for the clothes. This is because they don't sell guidebooks at the door until the opening bell of 10am, but all the lottery number pulling and lining up for clothes happens hours before that. With no guidebook, you can't join in until 10.

There's still stuff you can do at Dolpa if you can't buy goodies.

    27. Holo's Apple Tree & clowve -- Did you guys see that Tenshi no Sato is having a closing event?

      http://www.volks.co.jp/sato/140426/

I emailed Volks (waiting for a reply) to see if I can attend. It looks like it's open to just VS/VIP members. It would be really nice to attend, so I'm crossing my fingers I can.

    28. Do they also mention how long Tenshi no Sato will be closed?

    29. I can't read Japanese but from what I have found, no they don't mention how long they will be closed for. I would imagine at least a month if not longer.

From looking at the website further, it looks like no reservations and visitors can attend during the Closing Fair. Still waiting to hear from Volks for an official answer.

    30. There was something about the Closing Fair in Volks News 58 also, but I didn't read it too closely since I won't be near Kyoto anytime soon. I had forgotten about it until you brought it up!

On the page you linked, if you look at the bottom where it describes how FCS will work during the closure, it tells that Sato will be closed for about two months for renewal. Any at-Sato omukae ceremonies will need to take place in late June and beyond.

I imagine one could attend the Closing Fair by becoming a VS/VIP member (1000 yen plus tax for a one-year membership) and following the entry procedures outlined on the site that you linked. You could use your hotel's address for the address in Japan you must provide, and just circle "don't want" for the "should we deliver Volks News to your address" question.

    31. Thanks for the translation! I am useless when it comes to reading Japanese (or writing & speaking)! :sweat

That is a great idea! I have an old Japanese VS card that a friend got, so it may expired. Maybe I could just renew that? I didn't realize that you could opt out of the the Volks News. Very useful! And this is really good to do FCS in the future and just pick it up at the store (when they reopen).

I'm going to be staying in Tokyo but have a Japan Rail Pass so I'll probably just make the trek out - a long day but that's okay. :)

    32. Pris84, Volks cards expire yearly, so if your friend's card is older, it is definitely expired.

    33. Thanks. I know. I just can't remember when was the last time I renewed my card. :sweat

    34. Holo's Apple Tree & Pris84:

I mainly plan on attending Dolpa for the dealers tho. Is it a guarantee that I can purchase the guidebook at the door? I'm so worried about being turned down entry after traveling all the way to Japan D:

    35. There are no guarantees - usually they do have books at the door, but at the march Dolpa they sold out because everyone wanted to enter for the amazing one offs.

    36. I've never seen books at the door. If you haven't done so, I would email Volks and see what they say. I see on the website, the books are sold out. If I had an extra one, I would gladly give it to you but I don't. Sorry! You may be able to get in to shop though for the dealer room without one though. That's what happened in December. Good luck!

    37. Man, things aren't looking too great for me then. :( I've emailed Volks days ago and have yet to receive a reply. I've also contacted a few of the shopping services here to see if they are able to give Volks branches a call to inquire on the availability of the guidebook. I can only hope they still have them in-store. I think I really shouldn't chance my attendance by attempting to buy it at the door, it seems like the rational thing to do.

And thank you for that kind thought @pris84, I really appreciate it. :)

    38. Here is the link for the admission to Dolpa:

      http://www.volks.co.jp/dolpa31/guide/

※ If you do not have a guide book and certificate of admission to the stand column early in the morning will not be able to have you list it.
※ day sale of the guide book will be from 30 minutes after the venue.

If you can't get a guidebook before hand, I would come anyways. You've made it to Japan, what's another train ride? I've never seen guidebooks for sale before but I also never looked for them because I didn't need to. But from the translation it looks like 30 minutes after the venue opens, they will sell you a book. Good luck!

    39. I have an eyes for lil' kanata , he is adorable !!!!
anyone know when the AE start ?? how long after the event end ? :fangirl:

    40. The After-Event will be on May 24th. Just under 3 weeks after Dolpa is over. For the YoSDs, you can only buy them at Mado/Sato and online, not any of the other Japanese stores. (The SDGrs and DDs will be at all stores).

    41. :...(I need both Tae and Rinon!!!:...(

    42. That Alice is to die for. I am seriously splatted over her >.<

    43. Oh, are they the auction dolls?

    44. Katie, yes, they are.

    45. Thanks Oksana! I thought as much, but wasn't sure. :)

    46. The one off girls are ridiculously gorgeous! Does anyone have a better photo link for the Yos? I keep going back and forth on getting a yo and I cannot decided between Elena and Rinon. I have an SD Elena and I adore her but if I could see a better pic it may help me decide before the AE is happening.

    47. I really like the three "babies", especially Kanata. But I'll pass. No money.

    48. I just realized the SD Black swallow-tailed Jacket Set doesn't state it will fit SDgr size boys. Noooo!!! ;_; *super sad face*

    49. Be still my heart. I love little Rinon so much! The auction Alice and Lorina are beyond words....

    50. I received my Tae on the after market, she is wonderful :)
She does not come with the hands that were pictured in her company photos, just the normal SDGrG hands.
Also she comes with the high heeled legs on, so be sure to turn the "S" hook!
Feel free to ask me any questions!

    51. So reading this I just want to verify, the Yos will NOT be available through the AE? I was really hoping WLD or the AE would have the yos. I need Elena!

    52. No, they will be available online and Tenshi no Sato/Mado. They will not be available at the in person After Events held at any other Volks location.

    53. If you go to the international site, they are already posted to be available for the After Event. ^_^

    54. Ok, so that means I'll be able to buy the YOs at Volks international website even after the After Event? That would be great because I really love Kanata. And the two girls but especially Kanata. But I've already filled my "three dolls a year" quota this year ... :p I might get away with buying one of those three cuties for Christmas, though ...

    55. No, the Yo's will only be available as part of the After Event, where you enter the lottery to win the right to purchase one, as they are limited dolls. I suppose any leftovers that aren't taken in the After Event would be placed on the site for direct sale, but I would not count on that happening.

    56. Elena and Kanata are beautiful : D : D I'm in love with them : Fangirl: : Fangirl:

      But I have a problem... I want the two dolls!!!! : ... (

    57. Thank you MacaronTea. I just need to decide who I like better. Elena or Rinon. I have an SD Elena so maybe I should get Rinon. Any help?
