Hmm, not sure how I feel about that nose. Maybe now I'm kicking myself for not entering for Belle and Claude. :P
I guess we'll see him in person in Akihabara and decide then. Would be nice to give my wallet a breather for a few months!

 

Well, I'm pretty sure you can still buy Claude on Volks International...at least that was the case a couple of days ago when I logged on to access the Beast's details. Belle may be a bit more difficult to get, but wait until the next Dolpa and I bet you'll see some turn up in the MP from folks needing to get $$$$ for the next gorgeous girl! Meanwhile, remember that Volks dolls almost always look fantastic in person even if their promo photos leave something to be desired. Oh and can I say again how envious I am that you get to go and buy in person at Volks Japan!

Congrats to everyone who won someone already, and good luck to those still waiting on lottery entries! I too am impatient and I bought Ryo off of Y!J. On Sunday. And I know it is a holiday but I'm still super impatient waiting for her to reach the agent!

 

True, it's all true! I've learned that even dolls I thought were completely unattainable will fall into my lap eventually. I just have to be patient. I can't believe both Claudes are still available though! Augh! I was trying not to look!

 

The beautiful Ryo will be coming to roost in my home courtesy of YJ. (Although InvisibleWings will be making off with her outfit. lol)

Claude is beauuuuuutiful. I am so amazingly glad that I got him. He looks fabulous on the Spiritdoll Proud body, btw~

Does anyone happen to know how often the Volks Japan webstore restocks? There are some things I'd like to add to my AE order that are listed as 'to be restocked.' I'm not sure if that means they'll be restocked soon or the first of never.

 

I did see a Ryoma head for auction while browsing Noppin and there were several shots of the head. I wish I saved it. He actually has more of a anime style pointed nose then I was led to believe. I assumed it was rounded like Belle's but it's not. Regardless he is still a very handsome sculpt.

Congrats on all who won dolls already, especially Ryo. I was actually thinking about entering for her because I was moved and saddened by her life story. Since I have 5 big resin boys, and an all Imperialist team, Ryo's dollie life would have been very comfortable even without Ryoma. But then for my case, it's the name translations that made me unable to keep either Ryo or Ryoma. I don't collect items related to the dragon. But I'd say congrats for those who got Ryo. It's not her looks, I don't really care how she looks. I thought life treated her badly but as a doll, she can live a normal life.

 

Ryoma looks gorgeous in those photos, thanks for posting! His blushing makes the cheek bones and jaws look prominent! xD I can't say it's a bad thing!!! xD I kinda like it. And that nose reminds me of Ryoya...

 

I loooooove that pointy nose. I love pointy noses in my guys, so glad he has one!

 

Giggles....I love the sharp nose also. My mom pointed out the sharp nose immediately when she saw my SD16B Yukinojo. She likes it and when Yuki fell face down, her immediate fear was his nose! She was shocked, gave me a bad scolding and lectured me on the nose! She said I was super lucky the nose was not hurt. The dollie doctor inspected the head during IDEX and he confirmed that the nose is not hurt.

 

For those of you going to Volks' Akihabara store, the After-Event will be line lottery and will start at 8:30. Don't be late or you'll miss your chance to pull a ticket to get in line! (The actual event will start at 10, so it will take the line a while to get sorted as you can see).

I expect people will show up to lurk around 8am then. Not a problem for us since we'll only be a couple of subway stops away and already well awake. Nice thing about going to Japan is that the time difference from home suddenly makes me a morning person!

 

o_o We'll be staying at Ikebukuro, is it far from Akihabara? My last trip to Japan, I stayed in Asakusa and I didn't remember a thing! It was a long time ago. ;w;

 

Not far, maybe twenty minutes at most. Here are your timetable and train options for that day with an arrival set to 8:20am. CLICKY! The Yamanote line would be the easy choice since there are no transfers involved.

No problem! Just make sure you take the Yamanote in the direction of Ueno. Even if you pick the wrong way, you'll get there, but it will take more time to go the long way around the loop!

The stores hosting the AE in Tokyo are:
Tenshi no Mado (SD items only, no DD) in Harajuku
Studio Alta in Shinjuku
Akihabara
Ikebukuro

Those are all of the Tokyo stores now that the Ginza and second Shinjuku shops are closed.

I've never been to the Ikebukuro for an AE so I don't know what they have for the events in terms of SD stuff. The store is very small and mostly focused on Five Star Stories and 1/6 scale dolls.
We generally make the rounds though, since there's a different selection of leftovers in each Sumika.

 

Uwaaah, then I'll be following you around. Couldn't find a hotel near Akiba so we're staying in Ike... >.< I hope it's not too far from other places... Is it okay if I ask about Pasmo cards in here? >.> Anywhere in English I can check out the Pasmo cards? My uncle who just went there said there's a card that doesn't have an expired date... is it true?

To add to this, if you DO happen to get on going the wrong way from Ikebukuro (you should NOT end up in Shinjuku for instance), don't ride the Yamanote all the way around. Instead, get off immediately and catch the Yamanote train going the other direction. Opposite directions for the same line are usually on the same platform, so you'd only have maybe 30 feet of concrete to walk across to correct your mistake. Easy-peasy.

You'll absolutely want a Suica - you can buy stuff from vending machines and convenience stores in addition to riding the train with it. Buy the Suica+NEX package from the JR "Information" office when you land at Narita. It gets you downtown AND a Suica for ~1500 yen less than it'd cost to buy these things separately.

If you're not tired of shopping after doing Akiba, Shinjuku ALTA, and Ikebukuro, you can visit Odaiba to hit the Volks LalaPort along with all the attractions and shopping down there. (Gundam Cafe, Capcom Store in AquaCity, loads of other stuff). Knowing how to get there would be helpful if you ever go to actual Dolpa, since that's where Tokyo Big Sight is.. Kokusai-Tenjijou station.

I should also point out that NEX is Narita Express. You can ask the JR employees what platform it will come on. When you go to get on this train it comes at the same platform as some other regular trains. Make sure to look for the fancy white and red train that says NEX on it and only board that one. That's how to take best advantage of your ticket.

 

We usually take the Keisei Skyliner from Narita because there are no transfers, but we don't need to buy new Suica cards.

I forgot about the Odaiba shop! Do they do SD stuff there too? I don't know why I thought it was only DD. I have no intention of trying to hit all of the Sumikas in one day. I'm not that desperate for anything in the limited items, so if they come my way at Akiba that's great, and if I find them the following week when I'm in the other shops that's fine too.

 

Yes, the shop in Odaiba is a normal Sumika with SD and DD both. The Sumika section is a little on the smaller side similar to the ALTA store's so I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit LalaPort specifically, if coming from downtown Tokyo. You can get the same stuff already at the other stores you know about. However, it's certainly worth stopping in if you're going to be in Odaiba anyway for other sightseeing reasons.

I don't think Volks has a DD-only store at this time. Not even Akihabara, which would be the most likely candidate for one I think, is DD-only. So when you're looking for Super Dollfie then any store I know of is a safe bet.

 

I apologize if there was a duplicate question before, but for the online AE, do you have to have a volks membership? like the VS/VIP membership?

But you do not need to be VS/VIP.

I'm still not certain if I'll be getting Ryoma or not...my email service malfunctioned sometime yesterday or the day before, and now it seems that messages can't be recovered off the server afterall. So I've email WLD just to check, but haven't heard anything back yet. I'm leaving it up to the spirit of Super Dolfie Mother, if it's meant to be, it will be.

I also changed her eyelashes when I re-sprayed her face with MSC (after accidentally rubbing a blank spot into my Belle's cheek when I tried to clean off a spot with a magic eraser, I will never trust Volks spraying again!) Otherwise she has the default faceup. And thank you!
