Oh boy that is a lot of dough I'm going to have to fork over for dear Williams if I win oh my but I simply have to try for him because he has always been my favorite lol! The yen conversion is just plain scary though:O

 

Oh Tanpopo the more I see of her the more I think I'll just be brokenhearted if I don't win her. ^_^;

Yeah that's quite a lot of money especially around Christmas time and then there's the tax and shipping to pay!:O I really hope he stays at that price because if I didn't know any better, it looks like the dollar is just going bye bye at an ever increasing rate

edit: I do remember though that at the Kobe Cruise, Williams was going for around that same price though I don't recall the exact amount. I wonder if this one will come with an extra hand or a sword or anything

Wow, unless hell freezes over there is no way I can get Dahlia -ever-, but she is just beyond gorgeous. Even if I can't buy, I love watching the dolls Volks releases each Dolpa!

Whoa, when did the conversion rate get so terrible? I really like Williams but would be ok eventually just getting an SD13 version. Any outfit colaborations or anything for this Dolpa?

 

Totally agree!! The yen is just so freaking strong. It has appreciated 15% against my own currency. If I do not win the
international lottery, I sweat at the amount I have to fork out by going through my Japanese agent. With all the commission, shipping costs and remittance fees, it will easily be 170000 yen. Omg........ I need to sell a kidney.

 

Well I was way excited to see Williams being offered again, and I was going to try for him.. But not anymore That is way to high out of my price range. Oh Volks you make me so happy yet so sad.

 

Yep, they did depreciate the yen but there is little the jap govern can do on their own. The yen went down the day they intervened but market forces push the yen up again just after a few days.

Guess the strong yen will be here to stay for a while as long as the usd remains weak.

I sure hope that the yen will weaken next year so you can have a wonderful time in japan! I hope the yen goes down abit more by the dolpa!

 

Kobe cruise version was much more expensive. He came with a gun hand and resin gun which was packaged in a wooden box. You also had the option to buy Reisner's sword and sword hand which also came in a wooden box as well as Cecile's blind eye.

 

SD13 version Williams of older version actually cost more than SD17 version in the 2nd hand market. Many people prefer SD13 version head than the SD17 one. Even just the head alone, the SD13 version usually costs more than SD17 version.

My gosh I love Dahlia's outfit!! I hope she's not white skinned then i would be too tempted to get her. I am all ready planning to enter for sd17 williams. I have been waiting a long time for an sd17 body for my williams. I kind of like how the new sculpt looks moodier than before. I wonder if it's the make up or sculpt... but i dunno if i could let go of my one off williams that i paid a ridiculous amount. I think it would be odd having somewhat similar twins but like different height...so i will have to see if i am lucky enough to win williams. i think i need another sd16 girl down the line, but i hope it's not her. i would be totally broke, because i am also extremely tempted by ayumu. eeee, lots of good stuff in this event.

I've seen non-One-Off SD13 Williams go for 130,000+ easily, and those were older dolls with no clothing etc. There are some SD17 Williams on Y!J for around 300,000, but I notice those aren't selling.

 

This is madness. The Young Ensign is so gorgeous he makes my heart flutter *__* Has anyone confirmed whether he's the SD13 or SD17 sculpt?

 

It will be wonderful if Volks let us know whether the sculpt is sd13 or sd17. Not that it's going change my mind abt getting him but I will be more excited if it's sd13 sculpt.

SD13 head would be great, I like this a little more compared to SD17, but I want him anyway. Awww and I don't even have the money at the moment. This will be another "shut my eyes, just buy now, explain later"... if I even get the chance to buy him (I can only get him via Yahoo Auctions, and when I remember the stressful days when I tried to get hold of Hijikata this year, I could scream. The first day they showed up for auction, there were only a handful available, so I picked one really quite expensive in my panic. But if I hadn't, I think I wouldn't have got him anyway. I'm sure with Willy it will be much more stressful and much more expensive...aaawwwwwwww

Excuse me--we're speculating whether the "Young" ensign means it's the SD13 (DP16) head on a SD17 body, or the resculpted SD17 head from the last cruise release.

Ahh, I do really like some of the outfits!

The coats, the clothing from the Black Label, and the High Mode outfit is cute, though I doubt I could nab it. I can't wait to see even better shots of the clothes. None of the dolls are a need for me.

 

OMG, Volks is gonna eat my wallet for this Dolpa! I just want almost every outfit that they are releasing.

My apologies. I missed the mention that it was just the head you guys had been talking about. With that in mind, I imagine it would probably just be the SD17 head. Didn't they re-sculpt the head because the original SD13 didn't fit the SD17 body without modifications or something like that? I can't remember.

That first outfit from high mode competition with the grey coat and the red skirt IS SO coming home to me (I hope) ah~ it would be perfect on my F-01! Actually all the wintery outfits are super cute this year! And the boots!

I may have to forgo the dolls this time and just get clothes (although Daria ~sigh~ I'm still searching for that perfect SD16 girl and she's gorgeous... but the price! I already decided to buy a few orient dolls since Leeke will be selling then again soon...).

 

Hurrah! Daria (guess it's officially spelled that way) IS part of the Maiden's Promises series! I can't wait to read her story .

I love the High Mode outfit and those SD and MSD jackets. Sort of wish the colors on the two were swapped, though. I might try for the pink coat but I'm not sure how good it'll look on my SD13G who has pinkish hair.

Williams' boots are utterly amazing. I also like how they incorporated pieces from his original SD13 outfit into this one, like the necktie and the coat/cloak pin.

 

This is the first time I've been smitten by Williams, he's absolutely gorgeous. But there's no way I'd be able to afford him. How often does Volks have these Dolpa's? Are they usually around the same time? I'll need to start saving in case they release something I like again, as it seems from my understanding Volks doesn't do layaway correct?

 

OMG! I can't wait to see more pics of the SD16. The outfits are incredible this dolpa! I am definitely putting in for at least four outfits and a couple of pairs of shoes! I am going to be so broke.

I think the SD13 head does fit and a lot of Williams owners do that without difficulty. But you're probably right that it makes sense for Volks to make a SD17 release using an appropriate SD17 fitted head. Anyways--

Usually, I would agree that the SD17 body would result in a SD17 head mold, but ever since Volks released SD16 Cristal then your speculation about the headmold is valid and possible. Even though I do think it is the SD17 Williams headmold, it could still be the SD13 Williams head as well.

Is it bad that the only thing I ever want from a Williams release is his wig. I seriously love it and covet it for my own sassy but not at all wangsty or obsessed with pirates she cannot have redheaded girl.

But seriously, my friend and I were just lamenting over our slim probability of getting our very own Williams since we missed out at the NYC Dolpa.
I am curious about the discussions over the head mold. So there really is a difference in mold between the SD13 and SD17? Anyone up for posting a comparison shot? So it has yet to be confirmed which head mold is being used for this release?

 

Surprisingly nobody has posted detailed comparison shots of the two sculpts. All we know is that Volks confirmed that the SD17 head was a new sculpt and was designed to be "more mature" than the SD13 Williams head. And then some people commented that they find the two to be different somewhat...

I think there are a lot of loyal fans of the old Williams so that even a new sculpt that looks similar would be a world of difference for them from the original sculpt, and if like Volks said it's a newly sculpted head of course he can't be exactly like the old one. But IMHO I couldn't find any big differences in person, but it could be just me...

 

Oh no, I want all the YoSD outfits. My goodness, I'll have to find a way to afford them... Hmm, I wonder how much my Wii is worth these days? LOL. Those new winter school uniforms are so adorable, too! I'm very lucky there's no YoSD sized one, I'd have to get it too if there was. The little winter outfits Tanpopo and Ayumu are wearing are absolutely to die for!

 

I have both the SD13 & SD17 Williams, and aside from the obvious difference in makeup, the only difference I see is that SD13 looks to be a little fuller, plumper, which of course could be an illusion created by the makeup. The difference is slim, both are lovely and call me crazy but if I had the funds to spare, I would not hesitate to get this Williams as well!!! I will try to take comparison shots tomorrow, I feel sick today.
