I think there's going to be a month-long beer party on that boat! While they argue over which beer is better, Asahi, Sapporo or Kirin.

I'm glad my boy will have friends to make the voyage with. I don't have any concrete plans for him yet (or a name, lol) because my original plan got nixed by my Juri05. So Wills (as I've taken to calling him) is showing up tabula rasa and I will get to make him up as I go. Soom SG clothes will fit him (oh, duh, you know that, you already have an SD17 body and Soom boys ) and the Volks outfits are so nice. They're putting new outfits up on the 15th, a couple of which will fit SD17.

I just got an email from Volks offering the special parts for The Young Williams. I think I will order the extra hand and musket since I opted not to get those for my Darkness of Ensign.....I have until Jan 23rd to preorder. They also offered me the option of just buying the hand.

 

I just love seeing everyone's new addtions from this Dolpa today I just received the outfit Flower of Ice & Snow..from the major click war that took me until 1:20am to finally pay for it

I just got that, too, and am debating with myself. I don't need a musket, yet am developing a collection of unnecessary resin weapons around here *L*. I'll probably get the sword-holding hand anyways, to have at least one SD17 hand . . .

Wow, I think the battle was worth it. That outfit really suits your adorable girl!

 

Well the good thing is we have until the 23rd to make up our minds....I don't have any resin weapons so I think I will invest in this one!!!!

Do you find the sword-holding hand looks much different from the regular SD17 hand?

 

I'll have put them together to see there is a difference, as i've never used the hand yet. I'll go check them and post some pictures for you.

The hand looks slightly different. The fingers curve inward more.

Here's a photo of Kobe Cruises's William's gun hand and gun. The gun and the gun holding hand for this Williams is the same as Kobe Cruise Williams. I post a photo here.

Awww you guys are so lucky to be able to snatch both hands. I got both hands from my Kobe Cruise Williams, too. Hopefully the International winners can buy the optional items, as well... ;A; This is so unfair!

 

Dumb question, but these emails for sword/gun hands and the like are for dolls won in the AE, right? Or from VolksUSA? Will we still get to buy them if we won through the dealers?

 

Volks USA winners only. AE is a totally seperate thing I think. As for dealers I don't know. If you didn't receive e-mails from Volks USA and you won through dealer, you probably can't order them I guess.

 

I won him through We Love Dolls, but I didn't get an email either. I think the best thing to do is to email VolksUSA with our polite requests for the option of buying the extra parts. VolksUSA won't know to do this unless they know, and hopefully we can also get the extra parts. The staff at VolksUSA work very hard for their customers, so I hope it happens.

Thanks for all the pics, guys! Er, but to clarify: is the sword-holding hand very similar to the regular, basic SD17 hand? The gun-holding hand is clearly distinct, so I'm thinking it might be more of a must-buy . . . although there is kind of a casual angle to the fingers of the sword hand I like, too. Argh, decisions.

As for being able to order them, usually for this stuff there's an order form included with the doll upon delivery, so I was quite surprised by the email. If you're concerned, I'm sure Volks can clear up the confusion if you ask.

Well, I've heard back from VolksUSA and the news isn't good if you got a Williams from the dealers. I'm pretty disappointed, because to me this means my doll will be incomplete.

In a way I can understand Volks reason. I'm sure you can find the parts in 2nd hand market or Y!J.

But what exactly IS fair? Is it fair to people who attended the cruise for SD17 Williams to later find out that DP24 offers again SD17 Williams in a much larger batch with the extra parts too?

Izam... But aren't they different? >.> They look ALMOST the same to me, but my Cruise Williams is still retaining his price fullset~ So I don't mind... And they have different fullsets~ But my Cruise Williams came with all the extra options and this one from DP24 doesn't... o.O If you think it's unfair that Volks keep re-releasing popular sculpts, it's okay. I can understand... No worries.

What I don't understand is... the retailers and Volks International AE Lottery winners get the Williams from them, too. So why can't they let the retailers and International winners have the same options? >.< Isn't Volks International site a part of their original store?

 

It is kind of like only if you buy from this branch you get this and that. It is not: regardless of which branch or retailers you get our products from, you still get this and that. It is not unusual.

 

I'm not sure why Volks has made this decision, but I suspect a logistics problem, personally. I'm sorry to hear some people will be disappointed .

 

Yes, congratulations, she's really beautiful. I know what you mean by "smitten". The first time I saw my friend's DDDy Sasara Kusugawa, I was also smitten by her beauty, she's a darling to behold and hold. Her vinyl is of very high quality and I love her weight. Just be careful not to let her cloths stain her brand new body.

 

I don't think I'd have as big a problem with it if this was stated ahead of time that only VolksUSA winners would be able to buy the option hand and pistol. Then you know what you're getting into from the beginning and can take your chances if you want. Or if Volks.jp sent the dolls directly to the dealers rather than to VolksUSA, that would be one thing as well.

I very well may hunt these down later. But the idea of purchasing an incomplete fullset from an authorized dealer isn't sitting well with me.

 

I think this option is actually added in last minute and originally only people in Japan has this option so of course there was no prior announcement. It has always been that if you win directly through volks usa you get this kind of priviledge like option of sanding and body cream service etc. and this time this option as well. It is a benefit.

 

I need to go out of town, and am already out of the door... When Volks replied.
They told me if I have a friend in Japan (which I do), my friend can order the optional items for me.
I have to send her Williams papers and forms and the deadline is on January 23rd.
So I guess I'll have my wish now.

 

Well, these were additional options this go round, so it's not exactly an incomplete fullset, but I can certainly understand the disappointment.

I caved and ordered both. But man, they aren't so cheap once shipping's added in . . . *sigh*.

It's kinda frustrating that intl buyers can't purchase the option parts. My agent sent in the order form for me but I hv not heard from her since then. Any idea what is the cost of the gun hand/pistol set?

 

In my order form it's written as 8,800 yen... O.O
For the pistol + pistol hand. And 2,900 yen for the extra sword hand.
But there's no option for sword... So I guess my Cruise Williams wins! XD

 

Only Reisner and Cecile has swords because they are pirates. Why would Williams have an option for sword? He has a pistol. ^^

 

For anyone who has a sword hand, but no sword- Pupa Paradise sells a "pirate cutlass" sword that looks similar to what Volks sends with their dolls. Volks handle is a silver color, and these look bronze. I don't know if anyone has ordered a sword from them and knows if Volks orders these swords from a particular company to include with the fullset. It is something to consider if your Willy wants a sword, they have different styles too~

Dybbuk those look cool!! Any idea if it's to scale? It says 25cm in total length. But it looks shorter when the doll is holding it

 

Here is another link to a seller on ebay for the sword. I bought this for my Williams and it is the perfect size and would recommend it. The blade is Silver although it might look different in the picture. The price is also reasonable.

It seems to be a cruise thing to offer things that belong to the others, like you could special order Reisner's sword for Kobe Williams, or Cecile's blind eye.

I ordered Daria from Volks USA last night. I hadn't entered the lottery for her because my doll budget was trashed from adopting four early HyperManiacs last Fall. But the Daria kept haunting me....and low and behold there she was for sale in Los Angeles.

I wailed and cursed the fate that flaunted this girl in front of me after I had been so very good and stayed away from all the Dolpa posts.

And my husband came up behind me and clicked "add to cart".

 

What a lovely hubby!!!

 

I am ordering Alna some bodysuits from CoolCat so they are on hand when she arrives (all of my girls have suits from either CC or BeachGirlNikita) and I have TwinPines cleaner just in case.

But so far, being careful has worked for me with my other girls. I wish you the best!

My husband and I have been together nearly 30 years, and every year he gets sweeter. I'm completely undeserving.

I would have been good, really, but Daria is the first Volks release that I knew was MINE as soon as I saw her photo. I've had dozens of Volks dolls over the years and enjoyed them all for varying durations of time. Michael Dark Prince was the only one I held on to when the budget crunch came because he is like meat to my inner tiger. Nobody tries to take Michael away!

I know Daria is going to be like that. When I saw Jo77's box opening thread it nearly did me in to think I couldn't have her! Now that I know she'll be coming in March everything seems like heaven onna stick.
