That excited me too, at first, but @Audrina Mystique's comment made sense to me, too. Besides, what would I do with the extra body, unless returning the old body was part of the deal. So I may leave well enough alone, and keep my Clover from the 2019 LA Dolpa intact. (However it'd be nice if Volks made body suits for them!) A little dolly tax -- my Clover, Arminta, dressed in a Volks outfit. Look ma, no staining!
I'm not an Icon owner (yet?), but I agree, if I had bought one with the mismatched joints, I wouldn't be inclined to buy a whole new body for her. But hey, this is Volks, so I'm trying not to be too optimistic about them just straight up offering blank dolls for preorder, y'know? @beamlette your Clover is lovely in that outfit, and I love her red hair with the minty skin!
Thank you, Dolly! She wears it well; enjoying her BoHo style. Her wig is a Dollheart that a friend gave me several years ago; I like how well it goes with her face-up, and the short style too. Not always easy to find cute short wigs! Good luck to you if/when you try for an ICON!
This may be a dumb question, but I'm asking here since the listing says Volks USA doesn't answer questions about how the lottery works. There's this line in the lottery rules: A lottery will be conducted for each of the items. You may only win one of items even if you entered for more than one item. I've always wondered if that means "you may" in the sense of "you might," or in the sense of "you are allowed." That is, are they saying, "Even if you enter for multiple items, it's possible you'll get one, multiple, or all of the items you entered for." Or are they saying, "Even if you enter for multiple items, you can only win one of them at maximum." I suppose if anyone has won multiple Icons in one lottery, that would answer that question, but I can't recall right now. (In every Icon lottery so far, I've entered for multiple colours in the hopes of managing to get at least one, but so far my luck has been the worst.)
Thank you! That is very helpful! I'm just going to go for it and try for 4 of them again and hope I finally win one. I used to worry about the possibility of having to pay for several, but after losing every lottery so far, I realize what a naive concern that was.
You may win more than 1 doll out of the 4. If you win 2 dolls, you must make payment for both dolls that you enter for. You can’t just pay for only 1 doll if winning 2.
a pre-order instead of a lottery would be fantastic! I'd really like to get one of the new face in lilac and with all due respect, f*** the fullset price I have a lot of clothes of that size at home already & I generally like to do my own faceups
Volks USA just sent out an email that they're having a pre-order for the new Icon's base body so that those who had the older version can upgrade.
"You and a family member in the same house can each use your own account to enter for the same doll." I was banned from Volks USA last year when both my sister and I entered a lottery. We live in the same house, have different accounts and names. I didn't even realize I was banned until I try to buy a doll and when I clicked on PayPal it went to "prohibited web service". Same happened to my sister. I thought it was because we had the same address and used the same computer. If I knew it was possible for two people to buy from the same house I would have contacted them about the ban but it's been awhile and now I just buy from the Japanese website :/
I'm really excited about this years re-release of the dollfie Icons. The previous years mis matching joints really put a damper on my interest. I had previously thought that it wouldn't be so bad, especially if I had looked into options for dyeing or painting the joints to match. I'm really glad I held off because the new colored joints look amazing! I want to try to enter the lotto for Terra or Aisha in Tawny as that color is just so beautiful! I hope others are just as excited to enter as I am!
Well, I'm probably going to cave and order a new body for my 2019 Clover. My reasoning is I shouldn't pass it up when offered! I'm also tempted by RG Terra and Aisha, and I like Serra's make-up and expression. Hmmmmm... I have until the end of the month to decide if I'll put in my entry, so....
then it seems the most sensible idea is to get an f3 frame and dye that i think, so that if i fail, i still have the old frame...
Really?!! Do you happen to have the email? I'm subscribed to their newsletters but haven't received any messages from them regarding pre-order for the new base body.
@tinana If you message me your email I can forward it to you, but you can also check out the veeeerrrrry bottom on the Icon website and see information about it. Dollfie ICON 2022 Summer Breeze
This is my thought process as well. Even though I'm not in a rush to swap the body, I'd love to have the ICON f3 frame handy given the unique opportunity. The price doesn't feel as bad as the price of a new full kit 2022 ICON. My 2020 ICON was $750, 2022 is now $840 - It doesn't feel good at all.
Wait....I was able to purchase from VolksUSA again! and I even entered the lottery so....they didn't ban me? How do you know if they ban you? I thought they banned me because of what I wrote up there but I can make purchases now My sister and I made purchases and enter lotteries but not at the same time. I thought that we were banned since both entered the lottery for the same dollfie dream.... Anyways, I entered the lottery for Aisha. She looks like my mom when she was young, same face and sweet smile so I couldn't resist. It might me creepy for some people but not for me.^^
This is my first doll lottery! Aisha and Lilac… I think the competition will be fierce for those. I think Aisha looks like an adult version of the MSD F-21 head… could be my MSD’s mom or sister. We shall see if I get lucky!
That means that you are allowed to bid for as many items as you wish, anyway you will be able to win the only one item at best. Volks have other type of auctions, where you can win multiple items. In this case, of cause, you must pay for all items you have won.
@Tolgy Wait, that directly contradicts the DollDreaming post that @Kymera shared ("You can enter for one of each. You must pay for every doll you win. You can potentially win and then buy every doll you enter for.") So which is it? I actually had always been under the impression it was 'if you enter for more than one doll and we draw you for more than one, you'll only actually be considered to have gotten one, we will redraw someone else for the other slot' (so what Tolgy said). But had no solid reason for thinking so. I guess no one can clarify but Volks (unless someone knows of an order where someone won and was able to buy two different LE dolls in such an event.)
Volks has almost always allowed you to win one of each item you enter for. If you enter for five different dolls you could potentially win all five or none at all depending on luck.
No, it's not. Let's reread that question: It is clear, that it's about the second type of auctions I have mentioned in my answer, the one where you can bid on and win multiple items. And most Volks' auctions are of this type. And for this type of auctions that answer is absolutely correct: if you have bet for and won several items, you must pay for all items you have won. But Volks have yet another auction type, auction where rare or precious items, as one of kind, or items produced by small batches are presented. For instance, D'Coord models on VolksUSA were auctioneered on this auction type, auction, where you are allowed to bid on multiple items but you can win only one of them. And the purpose of this ruling quite obvious -- it's to give a chance to win to as many people as possible. And ruling for Icons auction: absolutely clear for me -- this is exactly the case: you can bid on multiple items, but you may (will be allowed) to win only one of them. Unfortunately there is no other auctions right now so you cannot see the difference in rulings.
The post I was referring to, the one quoted earlier from another forum, is *also* from a thread about the Icons, not a different instance of LE items sales. So that’s why I said your post and the DollDreaming post, which are both about the 2022 Dollfie Icons and not two different categories of lotto LE sales, are in disagreement — one says it is possible to win and then have to pay for multiple Icons, one says this is not possible. The post wasn’t about the (common for after events) type of sales where folks can enter for and buy numerous LE clothing items via lotto, you’re both talking about limited dolls and specifically the Icons. Maybe I’m not explaining it clearly enough, but can’t think what else to clarify. (My personal guess is that the DollDreaming post is just mistaken, because like I said, my impression of how this category of LE doll sale worked was the same as yours.)
For what it's worth, you make sense to me, and I am back to being confused again. The way Volks has it worded on their site, either explanation makes sense. I was also hoping somebody might pipe in with a story of a person winning multiple dolls in one lottery, as that would clarify things. However, that might be too much to hope for.* When I asked, I wondered whether it would be best to enter only for my absolute favourites (so I don't reduce my chances of getting a favourite by winning a not-quite-as-favoured version instead) or if it was best to maximize my chances at getting any of them by entering for every version I wouldn't mind owning. It was obvious that I would have to pay for anything I win, that part was very clear, but that darn "may" in the rules is too vague. I've wondered about it every time I've entered. *Well, I entered for 4 of them again, so if by some absolute miracle I win multiple, I will be back to let people know. I'm just expecting more people than ever will enter this year, with the joints matching now, so I'm not even getting my hopes up for one.
I’ve never entered a lottery as the Volks system/ rules are confusing to me, and I have been wondering this myself. I just had a thought that maybe the ‘you can’t win multiple items’ in the Icon lottery is meaning you can enter for each of the dolls, but only once per doll, so you can win multiples, but only one of each sculpt, not 2, 3, etc of the same sculpt. I hope this makes sense, as it was hard to put it in writing ( or maybe it’s just me).
@kurogane you make perfect sense and that's basically what the post from BeyondTime said -- they said you can enter once per doll and could potentially win for each that you enter for. Also I just noticed that user has a DoA! So I'm going to tag them in and see if they have any further deets lol. @BeyondTime have you heard about people winning multiple dolls within such a situation?
Maybe this experience of mine might help. Several years ago, I entered the Volks USA lottery for Midi Minoru and Ryotaro. They were also offering 2nd ed. Charlotte and Lieselotte on that lottery. A few days later, a friend asked if I could also enter for 2nd ed. Lieselotte for her, which I did. I won Ryotaro, but not Minoru, and much to my surprise, I won Lieselotte. So... it is possible to win more than one doll, and it seems random.
@evilhamster13, I've red some of that thread, and sorry, but I can't understand how people can be so mistaken and so confident in their misbelieve! They so confident so easily convince ones who had proper understanding that they ware wrong! And I give up. You prefer to believe to people, not to reasoning, it's your right. I just ask you explain to me in a few simple word rules for two different auctions, the one where I can bid for multiple items but may win only one item even I have entered for several of them, and the other one where I can bid for multiple items and may win only one item of each kind I have entered for. I am such a person. I have won both Kagamine Rin and Len in that auction. And I absolutely positive, that in that auction there was no any "You may only win one of items even if you entered for more than one item". I did. And I know that if they allows to any one to win several kinds but only one item of each kind, they write down that in a different way. BTW meanwhile Volks USA started new lottery: Home Town Dolpa Kyoto 19 After Event so anyone can check the difference with ICON lottery and try to find that "You may only win one of items even if you entered for more than one item" in its description. @kurogane, if you have a time to check upper link, you could find that ruling you preferred to assume in Volks terms sounds like that:
From past lotteries, with regards to Dollfie ICON, you can enter once for each doll. Under lucky circumstances you can win all of those entries, but may only win one of each. People have won multiple ICON dolls during one lottery period. RG versions of a sculpt count as separate items to their open eye counterparts, so you can enter for both if they both appear in a lottery period. example: Entry for Serra, Nikki, Clover, and Iris; Win Nikki, Clover, Serra
The result has sent out. Please check your regular inbox + junk mailbox. My winning email was sent to junk mailbox
I just won clover and this is my first time winning a Volks doll lottery since I started collecting over a decade ago. (I haven't entered a ton though, maybe a dozen? but I lost both of the past two Icon lotteries) I figure a lot of people must have won this time since they have extra bodies to sell and it's not a big deal to make another head. Anyway, I'm excited to get her!
Yay! I won a Clover, as well! I'm so excited. Of course I was hoping to have ridiculous luck and get more than one, but after losing every Icon lottery so far, I'm thrilled to finally get one of my own! Good luck to everyone else who tried -- I hope you have good news in your inbox!
I entered for two dolls and won one of them. Sad I missed out on Nikki, I hope whoever gets her posts a lot of pictures! And I entered for 2 of them on the same transaction, if anyone is wondering? I didn't enter two separate times.
No go in trash or any other folders. I did manage to get the Dollpa 19 clothes I entered for though. For lotteries, is there ever a 2nd round for dolls that didn’t get paid for, ect?
Aisha and Lilac. I'm guessing by the amount of likes on facebook for associated pictures, they may have been the most contested.
Thanks. It's not clear to me if you get an email if you don't win. I saw some people on Instagram share 'you didn't win' emails so they definitely exist, but I don't know if they entered for Icons or something else
Has anyone received your doll? I know that there are 3 winners of Tawny Terra have received their dollie icons on Saturday. I won Nikki and I haven’t get any notice. Volks USA mentions on the website of delivery date is late September. Is it just me the only person not receiving my dollfie icon?
Mine has shipped and is due to deliver on Wednesday. Depending on when your doll was shipped and what shipping method was used (as well as how far from CA you are geographically), some move much faster than others. Hope to see your Nikki when you get her. I entered for and lost her, so I'm excited to see owner pics.
You won Tawny or other version? I live only 15 minutes away from Volks and I choose pick up at curbside.
I got a shipping notice like 10 hours after I won but it still only shows "label created" for UPS so I guess mine hasn't gone out yet. (clover)
I won Iris. I'm not personally familiar with their local pickup so I'm not sure why they wouldn't have sent you a notice to come pick up already.
Reviving this thread -- I'd like to see Aisha pics too, as well as the others. I won RG Iris; got my notification email a few days later than everyone else, which made me wonder if my win was a re-draw I liked Aisha, Serra and RG Terra, but went for RG Iris as she's so different and makes a good gal pal for my 2019 Clover. Fantasy color folk need to stick together, lol. I also got the new body for my Clover, although at first I was reluctant, but I decided I should take advantage of the opportunity when presented, and not regret it later. Meet Arminta (Clover) and Delilah (Iris). Their names incorporate their vinyl colors ( More pics on my Flickr; they're at the top of the front page -- beamlette)
Oh they are both so pretty together! Iris just has the perfect shade of fantasy purple in my opinion, it's so pretty and I love her standoffish expression. Very cutely styled ladies!!
Finally posting up my Serra - whom I've styled into a character I'm a huge fan of from a Korean web novel/webtoon. This is Penelope Eckhart! Spoiler: Her original design for comparison: [/spoilier]
I didn't enter, but be sure you check your spam folder! And who knows, there may be someone who doesn't pay in time, and a doll goes to another draw. I *think* that's what happened to me last year. **fingers crossed** BTW, who did you enter for?
I ended up getting an email! I just wasn't expecting them to go out so late in the day. I ended up winning Clover! Congratulations @Mint Chocolate !!
Thanks so much, I honestly can't believe I won! I entered for Clover. Her color just really captured me. Thank you! Congrats to you, too!!! Both got Clover
