Volks Dollfie Dream Mini discussion part 1

Hello everyone, I have a strange conundrum. My mdd’s shoulder came loose! the arm now flops down every time I try to put it up. I don’t know why this happened and I cannot get the skeleton out to attempt a fix, assistance??

 

If you pull off the head and both arms at the shoulder, you should be able to slip the bust piece right off.

 

The piece that came loose is the shoulder joint in the arm itself. which after several attempts, no longer seems removable.

 

Im not sure without seeing a photo. but it should all be removable.

Does this guide help at all? The arm comes apart into like 5 pieces

I currently have a MDD waiting for faceup and she will get an I eyes. I'll post pictures when I receive her.

I got a new friend in the other day! I am so so excited about this head, I think I'm going to get them a MDD body with the smallest chest to make them a boy!

I've spent so much time buying different fabrics to find something matching with cats and chicks to be in blue and yellow and then obviously sewing them took forever cause I wanted to try front buttons which wasn't a part of the pattern so I messed some stuff up and they didn't turn out as great but still kinda cute _(:з」∠)_

@Lera As someone who went to fashion design school I can totally understand when something doesn't end up the way you wanted, but let me just say the girls look adorable in their outfits!

 

@Lera I don't know which is more adorable - the idea or the actual outfits you made. I do a lot of sewing for my dolls and I think you did an amazing job! The outfits and the styling go with the dolls so perfectly! I can't wait to see more of your fashions!

I am so excited! Yesterday I ordered my first ever mini dollfie dream girl! I've wanted one for years! I saw the release photos for the new mochi bodies a while back and instantly fell in love with the new bodies. So I took the dive in and bought it.
I cannot wait until all of it gets here!

I bought a custom ddh-10 head. It'll be my first custom doll ever. Wish me luck guys!

 

Hi everyone! I wonder where do you usually buy outfits for your Dollfie?

 

I usually buy clothing from Volks—I'm sure that is not helpful and that other, much more creative, users will have more to add re: clothing purchase options. ;D

 

I get most of my clothes from mandarake and legenddoll. Occasionally etsy or dolldelights
Ive found shoes from nine9style FTdolls fit mochiashi feet with a little elbow grease. Shoes from ACBJD and parabox have been hit or miss.

 

Hello everyone! I wanted to hop in here to ask if anyone has reference photos of the MDD body with the medium bust? I'm looking for a mature vinyl doll in size MSD but can't seem to find options other than Obitsu which is not my favorite. Volks' MDDs really look more childlike and I'm afraid it might look off or weird with a bigger bust :S Heads and hands won't really matter as I'll be using it more to model clothing than a complete doll.

Any help is appreciated

 

Hi, I wanted to share my MDD with DDh22. I love the way she poses! Sorry @Chamillia , This is probably one of the most immature head sculpts and she is definitely styled as a little girl. I will tell you though that her body could very easily be done as an adult with a larger chest and one of the other heads. I have seen many on Instagram who are older looking. I think the head sculpt is the key.

I think my 50-04 (right) is the most mature looking mdd size doll I have. Shes an Obitsu head on mochiashi body with medium bust.

@Chamillia I'm sorry I'm a little late with my answer, but here is my girl Lili (and farther below Mew too). She has an L size instead of a M bust but I wanted to show that you can have MDD looking not like children too.



And since Mew had gotten her custom torso and leg parts by ironedirno, I finally found an outfit that fits her thicc body. It's lovely work made by NG

 

took Ayako out for a rainy day photoshoot in the garden since she recently got a new raincoat, and she looks so cute in it!

 

Yuki is eagerly waiting for me to buy her sister a mochi ashi body and eyes I found this head on mandarake, new in the box! She'll be getting pink eyes!

You may end up seeing her new bestie on this forum soon, if her owner gets approved for membership quickly (I got my IRL best friend/roomate an MDD/Obitsu hybrid for their bday as their entry into the hobby, and now Aya won't be lonely anymore uwu)

 

They're from volks! They're the MDD size (volks says this doesn't fit mochi ashi feet, but they fit perfectly!!)

 

I'm currently waiting on my first MDD who I ordered through a proxy, Sophie Bear. She sent me a preview of my doll. Tan mochi-ashi with elf ears I did stalk out the physical store in Japan back in 2019 but I didn't know enough Japanese to order myself. Thank goodness for proxies like Sophie (who is just as sweet and friendly as all her reviewers say she is)

Naww, thanks! She's a fairly common face sculpt because for whatever reason the elf ear extras are only available with two particular faces... Even though the ears are just clip ons... I don't understand. Anyway! I don't even have her yet but I'm totally in love.

The Japanese store definitely has many more options. It's a shame the entire collection isn't available internationally. I've had some luck scoring clothes second hand from Mandarake. Though it's hit and miss. At times even damaged used goods go for original retail price or more At least their shipping is fast I guess...

 

she's so cute! I want a tan mochi ashi soo badly but I'll have to save up quite a bit to order one through a proxy and I'm already busy saving up to take out a layaway on a doll I actually have a plan for, and I don't have a character planned for a tan mochi ashi yet lol. one day though!!
