Volks "Dollfie Dream Gathering 2009" Discussion

I know, I was really surprised to hear they were doing it that way. I thought the whole point of the lottery was to avoid mass server death in the first place? All I can guess is that someone underestimated demand or overestimated the international server's capacity. *Pictures dragcave.net on newly-released egg days. . . only with Dollfies instead of dragon eggs, and shudders*

Guess you'll be stuck with Y!JA, Aquilla. I'm sorry. That totally bites (your wallet, potentially).

 

I felt the same way. There was no reason for this server crashathon! It was a very frustrating experience for me. As it was, I ended up getting charged FOUR times for the item I bought! I think that happened because I kept hitting the "back" button after I got server errors when I was trying to check out. Only one order shows up in my order history, though. @_@ I emailed Volks asking them to fix it. I hope they get back to me soon!

 

As tempting as ordering directly from Volks, Inc. on their international site is, I always hear these horror stories every time they have a big event. I just cross my fingers and hope I can get "lucky" with the Volks USA lottery. I know that's not an option for many of you though.

I do enjoy seeing Dollfie Dreams growing in popularity. While it might not be in leaps and bounds, it's nice to not be the lone DD owner at my local BJD gatherings and meet-ups.

VolksUSA is sending out the confirmation emails from the North American Lottery, anyone put in for Miss Moe or Natsuki?

I wasn't taken in by either dolls at first, but the look that Moe has just kinda grows on you. Add the fact that she's the first "Small-busted" Dollfie Dream too.

Anybody else receive good news from Volks???

I just got my confirmation from Volks... I won Moe! I've never won a Volks lottery before, so it's really exciting.

 

I also got my confirmation about Moe! It was double good news for me today since my MDD Candy came in the mail also!

 

My Moe order is still pending review.
Maybe the notify canadians at the end? =p

 

wow at first I didn't like the new head so much...but now I am reconsider ;P
since I don't know much about DD and MDD...anyone could tell me something about the body?
is it soft or squishable? it seems so...

DD and MDD bodies are soft compared to resin dolls, but they aren't the squishy kind of soft.

 

What's this, "Pending Review"??? No love for to out Dollfie Dream lovers in the Great White North... Hopefully, Volks will get that straighten out soon for you.

Dollfie Dreams are crafted out of vinyl, so their "skin" is smoother and has a little "give" to them, unlike resin. However, they're not squishy, like Barbie or Bratz type dolls.

Congrats to all of the winners of Moe. I beleive that she will be a quite sought after doll, once people start to see her in person. While winning Dollfie Dream "lottery" items is easier than that of their Super Dollfie cousins, it certainly isn't a "slam dunk" either. I know that I wait on pins and needles, looking for the confirmation email whenever I've put in for something, and I haven't won everything that I've ever put in for.

I'm wondering if anyone else in the SoCal area won one? I know several people talked about putting in for her. Well, I'll just have to wait and see.

It looks like I'll be able to bring home Natsuki at the end of January 2010. Natsuki's hair-style reminded me of DD Nanoha, so I'm quite anxious to see how she'll look in Nanoha's uniforms.

Depending on how she looks, I may need to pick up a second set of Nanoha's Uniform set.

Quite frankly, I didn't think that I'd be adopting another DD so soon.
With so many new DD's being announced, I better be careful how I budget.

 

Cool! Since I'm getting Moe, we'll have to plan out a day and do a photo shoot with them together.
