Volks "Dollfie Dream Gathering 2009" Discussion

OMG it's all so awesome! Is this going to be a Dollpa-like event? Wish I could go if that was the case... ;_; And Yumiko and Zetto want shinai! You two: not in the house! Take it outside!

 

So, I am not very familiar with Volks at all - will this work like a lottery or are they made to order during and order period?

 

I am soooo excited about this. I just love Moe and my fiance is going to try and buy her for me. If its done on a loterry basis, I sure hope I win. I love the red check Mini DD Outfit too, my Amber will looks so great in that.

Love option head 04 too, will have to get her at some point. All my dreams came true for this dd gathering. I'm very happy. I love you Volks.

 

i love them both!! especially their outfits. if i had to pick one, it would be Natsuki, but i would try and get Moe's outfit too.

DDH-04 looks quite promising as custom bait, now that I look more closely. I definitely do not like the Volks faceup on it though, or their eye choice--it makes her look bug-eyed to me.

And DDDy option bodies! Oooh, I've so been wanting to make a custom Agatha Heterodyne from Girl Genius, but didn't want to fork out the extra premium for a Dynamite body cannibalized off a limited. This definitely makes me reconsider that project. . .

Argh, Volks has really outdone themselves. There's so much cute stuff! Both Moe and Natsuki are adorable... I want them both! Ack!

Also, it's nice to see that they're finally releasing the Dynamite body.

 

I wouldn't mind the DDDy body w/ lingerie set, but I'm not going to fly to Japan in person just to get that...

Will they be making the DDdy option body and busts available through Volks USA or Volks International? And are they limited to the event only, or is this their official basic release?

 

I really love the MDD outfits and DD Natsuki. Gotta catch them all!

 

The dolls would likely be a lottery for VolksUSA and Volks International.

For the other items, there is no order period. Once they are available, they are sold until there are no more.

 

I really like Natsuki! I also like the new head, but I think she would look best on the MDD body.

 

The 2 new girls are lovely. I see a simple conversion for a Asuna from Negima coming up!

 

Ugh, I want Moe, but I know nothing about how this works. :/ Are the October 24-25 dates in USA time or Japanese time? How do you participate? Lol, I'm such a Volks newb!

Everything is lovely! My only complaint with DDs is that the standard choices are not nearly as nice as the fullsets, and it's so hard to snag one of those! I wish I could get the Escalayer one TT___TT

I don't think they are at this time. It might actually be a while before they release a WS DDdy body, considering how long it took for even WS option hands to come out! Also, there has not been a DDdy made in WS (I think), so it is hard to say if there are any plans.

 

They still haven't even released the MDD's in a standard white yet... and they haven't even released all the DD2 replacement parts for the WS's yet... I wonder why it takes them so long to get them out in white? You'd think since the white stains easier there would be a higher demand?

 

Yay I finally can get a DDDy body. ^^

 

You're right about the MDDs. I'm thinking that maybe the staining is an issue for most owners, so maybe WS is not that popular in Japan?

I had seen these news earlier this week, but thank you so much for taking the BEST Volks News scans available online!! You are sooo nice! ^______^

I will try to get Moe and maybe Natsuki too. And I like Sasara's gym outfit a lot...hehe. Finally!! Volks is making skin color body stocking and headcap! It's much better than white if you want to be discreet under clothes.


In case anybody is wondering, Moe and Natsuki both have identical headmold (as per what's written on one scans from Volks News I saw), just different face-ups!

 

Looks like I'll be getting Moe. She's so cute and her outfit looks great on her (the shoes especially). I'm glad that the dynamite body is going standard, it's such a pretty body.

 

I'm really interested in the new option head. Finally a happy smiley one!

The pictures kinda scare me though...I think it's the eyes. I'd really like to see her with smaller eyes that don't take up the whole socket.

 

I'm going to go for a DDdy body as well. I was going to update my DD with a DDII body but the DDdy one is much better!!

Hey guys! Dose anybody know if the DD gym outfit would work on an SD10 girl body? Any luck at all? Cause it says that the team outfits would fit.

 

Well, those gym outfits say it's for all SD-ish sizes. DD, DDy, SD, SD13 and SD16. However from my experience with mutli-sized outfits from Volks, it may fit or parts of it will fit. It's a real mixed bag.

I wonder when this new stuff will be available on Volks USA? Luckily all the things I want aren't limited, but it sounds like it will be a long time before they're up for regular sale...?

 

Like usual, VolksUSA won't get the items until 2 months later.

 

But they're going to have a lottery for Moe and Natsuki this weekend looks like. They won't be delivered until late January 2010, though! @_@

I asked Volksusa if they were going to have a lottery for the DDy body, and they replied already:

I'm puzzled about how the DDy shapely bust body with lingerie will only be available to those who buy Volks news. I mean, isn't that magazine only in Japanese, and since when have any promotions in it been available to USA people before?

 

Thats not too bad a reply. It looks like I won't be able to buy a DDdy body until Late December or early January. Still sort of sucks that we have to wait that long but it also means that the money I have now can go to something else.

As for the magazine I'd like to hear more about if it's only a Japan thing or does it extend to the USA customers.

 

Volks News is in Japanese, but they sell the magazine at Volks USA too. It seems like they are opening more opportunities for the US customers, considering this and the lottery entry for the special wigs that was offered for Volks News 34.

 

Hmm. I wonder how that will work. If you buy a Volks news from Volkusa, you still have to pay like $10+ shipping, right? Yowch. Too bad Volks News can't come like a normal magazine subscription. I would soooo gladly subscribe to that, whether I could read it or not! The pictures alone would be worth it.

The loading time is so painful. My hubby tried and the order didn't went through even though his card got charged. D=

 

I finnnnnnnnnally got my cc info in and now the screen just stalled to blank. :-/

 

I was so close, then I got the evil server error info.

 

I went back and changed my payment method to Paypal, then went through the Paypal steps and after I got my Paypal info in the page brought me back to Volks and died with the server error. I got en email from Paypal saying I had authorized Volks to charge me, but no order email.

 

My husband used Paypal and finally got the order through. The confirmation was sent not long after. You can also check your order history to see if it went through.

 

Oh no, the order did not go through, it's not in my order history. T_T

*Pats dollfiegirl* There there. I know how you feel. I felt the same when DD Fate came out in May. You should be able to get her on Yahoo Japan auctions in the future, after you've saved up, though.

 

I can't believe volks international didn't do it on lottery basis, how lame is that? I've just moved into a new house and don't have internet here yet. The only wireless signal I can get is slow and takes ages to load anything. I didn't stand a chance getting Moe through the 'first come first serve' system.

Why is it ok to lottery them in the usa but not the rest of the world? it just doesn't make sense.

Moe was going to be my Christmas present from my fiance, now I'm just so dissapointed. Moe is exactly the type of dd I always wanted, I've been waiting years for a cheerful cute girl with a small bust. To miss out is just so saddening to me.

 

I know, I was really surprised to hear they were doing it that way. I thought the whole point of the lottery was to avoid mass server death in the first place? All I can guess is that someone underestimated demand or overestimated the international server's capacity. *Pictures dragcave.net on newly-released egg days. . . only with Dollfies instead of dragon eggs, and shudders*
