@rakelnaomi Thank you! I have more wigs to try. I finally got eyes out. Not an easy task. Sadly my 16mm are too small. Luna is beautiful! I love her dark eyes!

As far as clothes go, I found they are similar size as the vinyl 43cm Zwergnase dolls. I have some patterns and dresses and will try on and post photos.

Congratulations on all the new babes!!!! I think I have hyped this person up before, but Ancienne is a dealer who also sells PDF downloads of patterns of her work. Several of her patterns include a DSD sized version, and you can click around on her website/IG to see examples of how she styled them for DSD. They are in Japanese, but if you have sewing experience + Google Translate, you can figure things out.

 

@Oliveoil Thank you! She is from the kimono release, and I think the eyes might be different from the My Dear Garden version? In any case I really like how dark they are, I think it gives her such a soft expression.

How did you go about removing the eyes? I still haven’t found a method that works well.

 

@demi.yu Thank you for sharing box opening! Nico is very pretty. I do hope they offer more DSD.

DSD is like receiving a new doll when I was a little girl. It is hard to explain, but DSD have such a doll like appearance...does that make sense? So many dolls now, are human like.

@rakelnaomi I agree the dark is really pretty. It was an inspiration to try brown. Picture below.
I did the freezer method. It is not easy, but they come out. I left her head in freezer for an hour and used a sculpting tool to pop out the glue and eyes.

 

This is probably a long shot, but does anyone have a Volks School C head they could try on a Dear SD body? Color doesn't matter, I'm just curious about the general fit/feel.

@Oliveoil Wow, she’s gorgeous with brown eyes! So sweet and childlike. I think this is my favorite look for her so far!

I’m still too scared to try and take Luna’s eyes out, but if I ever do I will probably go for the freezer method as well. It seems the safest.

@bellalupina Aspen is precious! Love the lolita coord.

This is the ”Snuggle Up” pajama set for Our Generation. Once I adjusted the elastic in the waistband it fit pretty well (except for the slippers of course).

@rakelnaomi Thank you! I am happy with this look. The freezer method does seem safe. The eyes popped out but it was removing the glue that took time. She looks great in the PJ set! I love the robe. It is good to know she can wear Our Generation clothes. That means patterns will fit too. Thank you for sharing.

 

@Oliveoil Thank you! I think I’ll try more of the OG outfits. They will definitely be more of a loose fit on DearSD since there is a considerable size difference, but I think there are quite a few pajamas, hoodies and other casual styles that could work

Time to reintroduce my Ushiwakamaru and Megohime!
Ushi's horrible yellowing turned out to mostly be his default face-up, so he's super fresh and much cuter now. He's also acquired a twin! Megohime was never meant to be a keeper doll, but we all know what happens when we buy a full doll with the intention of using the body for some other head.
So here's Ciaran and Roshan, who mostly go by Kiki and Lolly.

At some point I will change her eyes, but I'm not going to fight with the hot glue until I have to. I've had pretty good luck just grabbing the glue with a pair of forceps and pulling the entire blob off in one or two chunks. I will also be looking to get the girl version of the Dark Circus outfit for her, but I really love this weird SD outfit I got secondhand.

 

@rakelnaomi She looks adorable in the pajamas! I have an Our Generation winter coat outfit I wanted to try on my girl when I get her so it's nice to see that it will probably look cute.

@St. James What a great pair! I love the faceup on him, and the very unique outfit on her.

 

Just in case any of you were curious: here is an SDGr Lucia head (from the latest release) on a DearSD body.
The proportions are really perfect although I think her face up looks a bit off on the child-like body. Nonetheless, she's a cutie!

Phew, I think I’m safe from the Dsd girls. Something about the eye features (or lack thereof) isn’t sitting right with me. Too simplistic I think for these characters. The rest of the face sculpt is super cute though.

 

DSD Elsa and Anna are cute but I’m safe, thankfully! Am personally quite surprised that they look like they have single eyelids, and Elsa’s features remind me of one of my Korean friends.

 

I had little interest in the Frozen dolls, but I have to say the DSD versions look adorable.

 

It would be really cool to have a long leg DSD; siblings could look even cuter with that option. I hope she really is, though it could also be that she’s just standing on something to help the height.

 

They're quite cute but I'm safe from them. I'm glad SD versions are separate release - more time to save up - but I hope they won't make us wait another year.

 

So finally there's a picture of those two! Thanks for sharing that, I think they're very cute but I also think I'm safe for now.

 

I squealed with joy when I saw these two this morning... I maybe have to start saving for Anna...

 

They're not a good fit for my preferences, but I think Elsa and Anna DSD are extremely cute, and I'm sure that when I see owner pictures I'll adore them even more!

 

Per Volks News, Anna and Elsa will have an online preorder starting from December 20 and ending January 10. Preorder becomes lottery once sales reach a certain amount so expect a lottery.

Also no indication that Elsa has long legs in her details so photograph staging on that one.

Edit: It looks like the online lottery is only available for Japan and USA customers, that makes me worried for gown up versions as an international customer

 

Thank you for the link! It is honestly disappointing if this is the case - I would expect them to allow at least GL members to apply - but it might be just Disney requirements. I am safe from both of them fortunately, but I am angry on behalf of people outside Japan and America who do wish to get them.

 

Does Volks list DearSD measurements anywhere? I can't find anything other than their heights.

 

I have to say I might pursue the Frozen DSD outfits, but it would feel like cosplay and that rarely amuses me for very long. Also, it seems like Volks usually releases some other ensemble that works with the theme and I'd be more into that.

I did finally pry the glue out of Roshan's head and swap her eyes. The defaults for Boyhood Cecile actually turned out to be several sizes smaller so I went with them.

 

@St. James, Roshan is looking so sweet! The little balloon patch on her jacket is so cute.

I caved and put in for DearSD Elsa. She's so cute, and I do have Cinderella too, so I'm hoping Elsa's Alabaster resin will match Cinderella and can go on the SDGr body sometimes. I also didn't like big Elsa or Anna at all, so that helped.

Also, dolly tax!

 

Season's greetings! I finally got to open up my Tiffany that my family agreed to make my present this year, so she's been stored away since she arrived in October. She's so lovely and sturdy! I had an Our Generation jacket that's been waiting for her so that her outfit looks a bit more seasonally appropriate.

 

Frozen lottery results have started going out!

I won Elsa and Anna! Anna is probably becoming a different character but my wife and I are big Elsa fans so she’ll stay canon-ish.

 

I won Elsa, I can't believe it! I heard some people had been added to a User Group yesterday and since I hadn't been, I assumed I lost.

The payment deadline is a lot later than I expected, which is lucky because I've been going through a er...series of horrendously unfortunate events in my personal life so I'm really going to need that extra time to cover the cost. I'm not really a Frozen fan (sorry lol) so I don't need her full set, but I'm really excited for the doll as I love her sculpt.

As expected they don't seem to be popular, but good for us. SD13 Anna and SDGr Elsa will be a nightmare for sure, tho.

I hope I can bring home DSD Anna as well for a decent price as they have to be together for me. ;-; Couldn't enter for her as well.

 

I won Anna! I assume the DSD girls were not super popular especially because we got to peek the bigger Anna and Elsa just before the lottery and people's priorities shifted haha. DSD is not as popular as the larger sizes too.

I come bearing Elsa! My girl Penny arrived and she is just cute as a button. The default faceup is quite nice. The new hands are delightful, too! I hope Volks adds them to the regular DearSD line. I'd also love little fist/paw hands, too!

hello hello! I'm curious, does anyone have dear SDs with volks heads that weren't Intended for dear SDs? I saw one girl further back in this thread but I was wondering about compatibility and aesthetic. I assume some proportions/features work better with the body than others, but do you need a certain neck size? thanks!

 

From what I've experimented with, regular SD heads can totally fit on a DearSD body. I only have four SDs but all their heads fit well and stayed on. The maturity of their sculpts looked a little funny but even my girl from 2005 works!

 

So, my Tiffany has a sister now! I finally finished the color matching/faceup on my 2008 Megu that I put on a Rosenlied Holiday Child body. I like that the two are similar but distinct. Also Tiffany is in an SD sized kimono set that's clearly too big but she looks cute in it anyways, haha.

 

@Glace Leau They both look adorable, and I really like your Megu's eyes.
