It's ok, i hate myself too for knowing this!!!!

 

For anyone with 4 sisters DSDs- what size eye do they come with/do you use? Asking about DSD specifically because I know they sometimes use a larger eye for them vs the regular SDs lol

 

@lunar-dream304 : I believe my DSD Una takes 20mm glass eyes as it's pretty much the size Volks defaults to with the Four Sisters girls. I think she could go down to 18mm comfortably and just have a bit more sclera visible.

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed!! I'm thinking of switching out my Megu's eyes but I couldn't find any information about what size the FS DearSDs came with by default lol

 

@lunar-dream304 :I know!! Volks doesn't have any of their original sales pages up any more so it's hard to find written confirmation.

Would love to see your Megu with some updated eyes. I might be inclined to change out my Una's down the line but really not interested in fighting the hot glue right now...

 

Good to know! I've been struggling with my Una's eyes for some time now. She always looks a little spacey. I'll have to try 18mm!

 

I usually keep my girls in their defaults as well but 18-22mm tends to work nicely with F-01 most of the time.
I know that I had a pair of 18mm in my DearSD SwD Megu head and they were too small though so it may depend on the eye size and dome height. On the other hand, I love the 22mm (Standard Megu defaults) in my Una.
That time when I was switching eyes on all the DSD heads in the house.
I put my DSD Una defaults in my DSD Megu, Standard Megu defaults in my DSD Una and either the DSD Megu defaults or a random pair of 20mm glass eyes in my DSD SwD Megu if I remember correctly. I don't think I got any photos of her with the 18mm but they gapped horribly so she didn't keep them long.

 

Just had to share Megu really quick!! She's been bald since she got to me and her new wig finally showed up today and I'm just, like, breath gone butterfly stomach hyperventilating she's so beautiful lol




I decided to keep her original eyes after all; I had planned to make her look super monotone by giving her a wig and eyes in similar colors to her outfit, but she really came to life when I put on this wig so this is how she will stay!

I can't help but notice how much she reminds me of circa-2008 Kanon Wakeshima, which is very funny considering I had been playing Still Doll on repeat the day before I got her lol

 

@lunar-dream304 : UWAAA! _ Your Megu is fabulous. So sweet and childlike. I love the charm of F-01 as DearSD! That wig color and style is perfect on her. It really does compliment her beautiful faceup/dress. She does have Kanon Wakeshima vibes.... maybe this is her way of telling you she wants a mini cello~ hehehe Thank you for sharing her. I have an Una DSD, but seeing your Megu makes me wanna be greedy and get a lovely Megu DSD too.

Thank you!!! You should totally get one, she's incredibly sweet! I was very surprised to see how cheerful and open she looked once I put on her wig, it completely changed her personality in a way that I wasn't expecting!

I originally thought I wanted Una (yours is GORGEOUS by the way!!!), but I felt they would be much too similar to my Mai since they both share the paler skin and very pinky makeup, while Megu is so much warmer and has a vastly different appeal to her imo

Does anyone have or has anyone seen an Elena, F-42, or F-66 on the DearSD body? I think she might be too grown-up…but maybe not?

 

I hope to get a DearSD one day and I’m curious about one thing. How would you describe the weight? Are they lighter than a Super Dollfie? Heavier than Midi and Cute?

 

Finally got around to fixing up and faceup-ing a very old/yellowed/scratched SwD Syo head that I picked up a while ago. She looks somewhat haunting as DearSD

 

@jadepixel, that's a wonderful new life for the SwDr Syo head. I like the soft, natural face-up

 

Gosh, the Four Sisters and Syo heads are still so beautiful after all these years! And the BtSSB (?) dress is too sweet.

 

Happy holidays! Popping in to share my wife’s Christmas present, her very own Hinaichigo (Rozen Maiden):



She’s a Dollga Ojallin on a NS DearSD body and she works really well! Might need to get an extra kips disc for her neck but really that’s about it. I think Dollga Noella would make a really cute hybrid too!

It’s a similar scale effect to the 4 Sisters or Kun DearSDs.

Can anyone tell me when Volks typically offers these girls? I've recently become really interested in owning a DearSD Megu but I can't tell when ordering periods are or if Volks LA participates. Do they allow you to customize them like their other dolls or are they fullsets only?
And I guess my last question is, do they typically fit SD10 girl shoes?
I'm pretty unfamiliar with Volks, especially this size.

 

DearSD have come out online once for US buyers. They’re released at Volks events like Dolpa or smaller events like Mado’s anniversary. They are only available from the company as fullsets. Most SD10 shoes are a little loose but doable (ankle boots are usually okay), and Volks has started marking their own shoes for if they fit DSD or not.

That said, Megu/F-01 is an extremely common head. If you’re willing to buy secondhand, you can probably put together an F-01 head and a body pretty easily.

 

Does someone have a Pic of their DSD together with a Yosd and MSD maybe? Just to see how they compare?

And the wiki says Disney Animator clothes fit, did someone try it out and can show me how this looks? I think Animators might be chubbier?

Congrats on the smols! I don't have a YoSD, nor Volks MSDs if that's what you mean, but I do have a number of slim MSDs if that would help? I grabbed a pic with my Megu next to a couple of them.



Proportions are majorly different between the two for sure. Megu's got a big ol' noggin compared to everyone else! And hands, and chunky limbs, and a chunky torso... I haven't even bothered trying to see if she fits any of my other dolls' clothes. She looks very baby-like compared to the more teenager/young adult-y slim MSDs.

As for Disney Animators clothes, I don't have any premade ones, but I grabbed a couple sewing patterns and a knitting pattern for them. The one sewing pattern I did (a dress) needed some length on the sides, but armholes and everything worked. Skirt might have needed to be longer, too. The knitting pattern (also a dress) fit perfectly, though I did do my own thing for its length.

 

I'm purchasing a DearSD Mai from a friend on layaway and excited for my first DearSD. I've had many big babies over the years though and currently have a Luts and a Rosenlied. Been online shopping for Mai. Does anyone know if DearSD can wear Monique Gold brand 8-9" wigs? I found the absolutely perfect wig for Mai, but it only was made up to 8-9". I know Monique Gold wigs specifically can often stretch a bit bigger as I currently have a 7-8" Monique Gold wig on a Delf that otherwise wears 8-9" wigs. Would love to know if anyone has tried an 8-9" Monique Gold wig on their DearSD, or should I just only look at actual 9-10" wigs?

 

@Cap'n wig size for DSD depends on the head sculpt. The sculpts weren't changed between SD and DSD versions. I believe Mai is 8-9 though. Any of the four sisters would be 9-10 and some other big headed old girls too.

 

Oh cool, if Mai is 8-9" then that will make things so much easier. Would love to hear from anyone whom might own a Mai as well. I already have a Monique Gold 8-9" wig I can try on Mai when she arrives, but I'm also a bit worried that the wig I found may be sold by then so I may not be able to wait too long to order it. >.<

 

I have a Mai and she can fit into stretchy 8-9 wigs. I own a lot of Monique wigs and I think she fits all of them. She wouldn’t fit a non-stretchy 8-9, but Moniques should be fine.

 

Thanks so much for the info! Makes me feel a lot better about ordering a 8-9" Monique Gold wig now. I may even order 2 in different styles.

 

I'd like to share my first Dear SD! She is a Nana which I adopted from a very kind DoA member. I have a weak spot for the Four Sisters sculpt, already got two SD10 and one SD13 version of them, and I always wished for a Dear SD. Now my dream came true (and she was put up for sale at my birthday - what a coincidence!)

 

So glad she's found a happy home with you!!

New girl Kaiya (F-98) has joined my chubby baby family Volks has been doing DearSD events at Mado lately. I hope they will keep adding new heads to the lineup! F-98 is so popular, and I think she looks great on the DearSD body.

 

I'm awaiting my first DSD at the moment (a WS Mai) and in the meantime snagged a My Garden set. Had to try the outfit on my Baby Delf Pansy first. Other than the shoulders being a little wider, it fits! My big babies will be able to share clothes.

I read Disney Animator clothes work - did someone try those?

Volks labels both SD and MSD outfits also for DSD if I filter for them - will those really properly fit? I guess the proportions are different?

Any other outfits that might work?

 

Hi Hikari-chan!

If Volks mentions the dress fits DSD and SDM, most of the time the dress would be a little larger on the SDM, and you don’t have to worry about fit on the DSD.

I don’t exactly like how SD clothing look on DSD because the proportions are off to me. The sleeves would be too large and waistline too low unless it is a babydoll dress for the SD.

I also make clothing that is interchangeable on both DSD and SDM. Just more loops for the hook to attach to, to adjust the fit.

Here is a look at both a DearSD (left) and SDM (right) wearing dresses of the same fit but differing lengths. SDMs get an extra loop for a tighter fit around the waist:

This is a disney animator dress and i have some more dolls and outfits. Anyone in particular you are interested in? This one fits quite well but some will definitely be to short.

Fixed my photo, thank you for the update on the tutorial, i guess i was just lazy (all i had to do was turn my tablet a quarter turn and then it gives me the desktop version)

 

Oh, forgot to mention this (or did I?), but ILY Disney clothes (the 18") won't fit DSD without some serious tailoring. They're simply too big!
