Modification Vidania: poseability/height mods on a resinsoul 60cm body

Welcome back!!!! This year was really rough for depression. I’m glad you’re feeling better now!! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the updates!! Also I love that you also have a family full of foundlings, which I think is my new favourite word!

 

So, in January, I swore I wasn't going to go this long without working on her and then I did...Oops.

Now, this update is being posted a week after it happened, because stringing her was a tad demoralizing, and I'm still coming back from that. but lets look at how she turned out, and I'll talk about future directions on her.

So her arms are absurdly long now--I'm going to take a couple cm off, as I've marked out there. Might thicken the neck, and make her head a little more stable--or just suede her a little thicker. Her torso needs to lose at least a cm more, because look how out of proportion it is with her legs--I might actually add a cm back to her thighs, as though that's not a blight to do. now comes the additive stuff that I've marked out on my next pic.

So, I hate how jarring her shoulders came out, so I'm going to thicken her upper torso, to de-bump her ribcage, and balance out her new wider shoulders. Extend and curve the shoulder properly to make her arms look better. I might turn the subtraction on her chest into a second joint, or I might chop her lower torso in half, take off a cm, then stick it back together, cause it feels too long. The lower extension of her thigh needs to be broader--it tapers too quick right now, as it is. I need to smooth the transition between her butt and her thighs, and so I'm going to taper that better, and then maybe do something to her thighs? who knows? It was a little demoralizing, like I said, because I worked on everything separately, and then it looked wonky back together. And I want to shrink/possibly reposition her chest. I don't know. That's a problem for once I get her aesthetics back together and cohesive.

I do moderately wish I'd just sculpted my own body, just a little. that feels like it would have been less fixing, but we're this far. Last march, we hit the point of no return. No going back now, right?

I remind myself, this is the midpoint, so of course everything feels hard--also, I just got out of paper season, and so I'm a little tired from that. I think I'll be more optimistic once I'm on the way to getting her torso sorted.

When I position her arms to hide how long they are, she looks like herself in clothes, which is, right now, the biggest relief to the project.

I’m actually in the process of updating here—I stopped working on her for a long time, but I started writing about her again recently, and I think that jogged something because the apoxie came out!

the body next to hers is a Withdoll SWD girl body, with the small chest! Since that pic, I’ve stripped that dye job, and then turned it blue (maybe I’ll add bonus pics with the next update)

so… wow… my last update was two years ago. That’s just like me, it seems. I’ve changed a few things on this project—first off, Vidania has 3 new heads—all of them are the feeple60 Sia skull head, regular head, and sleep head, whose faceups I subsequently messed with as I needed my goth babe to look like herself. No pics of that yet, because honestly I did it so long ago that I forgot to photograph it!

but just you wait, because I DID photograph my next fit of hubris, which came in the form of her torso. See, it was just so long, compared to her legs, and it’s really, really not easy to make her too short, so I decided to hack a centimetre off both her lower torso and her upper torso.

Now, you notice one of my hack-lines is right in the middle of her boobs, which I’ve already sculpted once. I decided I liked her rib cage as it was, so I had to get creative with where I resegmented her.

this is what I was left with after chopping out 2cm. The upper portion of her torso has considerably less size difference than the lower portion, which I knew was gonna take a lot of apoxie.

so I got to work! I smushed the chest together with a line of apoxie, like you can see here!

New boobs are even smaller, and there’s a bit of sternum peeking through a I did a little bump from the ribs under the skin between, like my HID girl has. I also realized from painting up a different doll as Vidania temporarily, the amount of detail on her tattoos makes un-detailed boobs look silly, so to got for some realism this time I sculpted nipples.

now, onto the lower torso:

This is where we started! You can see how bad the size difference is between halves, and how much apoxie is gonna need to be used to salvage this!

and here it is done. Notably, the waist is now higher—at the intersection of the two pieces, and the waist is now significantly thicker where pieces were joined.

Here are the two pieces together! Next update, I’ll string them together, with the legs, and I’ll get the milliput sanded down so that the connections aren’t super rough anymore. Then, all the modding that will remain is getting her arms to an appropriate length, because they’re gonna look extra ridiculous compared to her new torso. I’d be amazed if her hands weren’t on her knees by now.
