UNON / U-noa Zero / Unoa 0 : Latea & Marion Discussion v. 2

Oct 1, 2008

    1. to clear things out Crescent-shop have retrieved a small number of magazines where they'll be using as many coupons as they can from these few magazines(there are not many limitations from Hobby-Japan's side). Since they might get way more participation than the number of magazines they have already purchased they have given us the option so the magazine will not be obligatory and people can choose if they need the issue or not, in that way they won't force people to buy the magazine hence they don't have to buy more issues than they need to get the job done,

Kyrie you can delay your payment as long as you need before the deadline however it would be nice to give them a head up of an estimated time when you'll be sending them the payment.,

    2. Thanks for the info! I'm just so happy that we're getting a good window of time for this, and I'll be able to jump on it!

    3. i received two quotes and they charge around 3,000Y to 5,000Y for the optional parts,

    4. I'm really happy that we are able to order these dream dolls. ^.^
I only would need some more months until I'm able to buy one of these gorgeous dolls! Ö_Ö

    5. well the general deadline is may 31st and Crescent-shop's deadline is May 25th,
do your best guys the best of luck~!^_____^

    6. I was way off the mark when I guessed at the price! He gave me a quote of $1435 for the kit and one each of the shoe sets! And that does not include shipping! And since I don't have lots of folks knocking down my door for designs on this large of a doll, I think I might have to pass on the opportunity to get one. I am sure with shipping it will be close to $1500 and that is just too much for a doll that I don't need! Ah, but she is SO PRETTY!

So I am still asking "Is she worth THIS PRICE?"

    7. If you really love these dolls then YES! This might be a last chance to obtain them.
      It's an expensive hobby.

    8. Honestly, none of us NEED our doll, hahahaha.. Maybe for you she's not worth 1500, but I'm sure she is for some c: Also seeing as how you keep waffling back and forth maybe that's a sign it wasn't meant to be? I don't know, I just don't see the point of debating the price of a doll you're not crazy about. If you love her that much then get her :>

    9. Dollswest, having held mine in hand and had a chance to play with her elegant curves and beautiful body engineering . . . for me, YES!!!

      -- A :D

    10. It's great to see these girls can be ordered again and with Unoa Freak too <3
      I loved the first magazine.

But I have a question for Unon owners, I love the Unon body (specially their legs) but I was wondering
is it possible to remove the breasts because of the chest joint, or would the resin be too weak for doing this?
I know the resin isn't like normal urethane resin, so I'm curious about it and specially when it's a joint as well.

I hope someone can answer this question :)

      Sabriell

    11. Do you mean you want to remove the whole chest part or you want to sand it down?

    12. sand them off of course.

    13. Happy dance! x3 hopefully only faceplates. Have enough with one big girl and I'm not fan of the soles *_*

    14. Im still a little confused about when to send payment...

Do I send an email telling them what I would like to order, then Cresent Shop will send me an email back letting me know the cost, then I send an email back saying yes I want to go through with my order and let them know when I will be sending full payment...??? Just as long as I send the full payment before or by May 25th..??? Right...???

Would I have up until May 25th to pay without loosing my order?

Someone please help my confused brain *_*

    15. Ack, I'd want some extras with her too, and I agree that $1500 is truly cringe-worthy. *_* But after researching a bit and discovering that they are indeed quite poseable, it looks like Unon might actually be $1500 worth of doll, to me anyway. xD I really want one, but will have to consider carefully, 'cause if I do get her I don't think I'll be able to keep my Okita (at least not all of him, lol).

The only thing that makes me hesitate is what sort of boy dolls would look good with her. I'd like a really substantial height/size difference for the couple I'm planning, and I am worried she may be too big to achieve that. If I may ask you lucky Unon owners and fans, what tall guy(s) do you have with your girl, or think would look good with her? :daisy

And best of luck to those of you getting your orders in and straightened out! ^^

    16. if we place an order, how long would it take to receive the doll? sometimes i see unoa zero available for 1500 second market, but you are most likely to get it immediately. vs ordering from crescent, how would the wait be? if i don't win hijikata i think i will be getting unoa zero, i have admired her for a couple years. i was lucky enough to obtain unoss for a pretty good price thinking she would suffice...but i do love araki's sculpts and mechanisms. his sheer genius of engineering. but i do hope that he change the leg connections a bit, you can't exactly pose it in other directions then.

    17. their bodies are pretty flexible, I'd say a bit more than many other SD bodies I know of,
      [IMG]
the only off thing some people might find is that she needs to be strung a little tight to feel sturdy enough,
and her elbow joints need caution not to be misplaced while assembling and also while posing them and playing,
      -
visit here to view a |FAN GUIDE| about these limited dolls,
      -
my Unon is my only SD child now, I truly love and appreciate her as a doll she is magnificent and very gracious, I don't know if she is worth the price tag but to me she brought a lot of fulfillment as a purchase,
the first kit edition that only has the 2 faceplates costs around 1200$-2100$+ in the second market
with the lowest price being a very rare finding or a very used doll..

Dolly a boy doll that looks great next to them is a Dollshe bermann/hound!
my girlfriend has one and they are amazing together,
compatible couple size and both have beautiful slender body figures,

Sailor_Orbit the first edition kit didn't have all 4 faceplates, f you're ok with that,
then it wouldn't make any difference if you bought her from the second market or the new preorder,
the new preorder delivery is estimated around September 2010,

    18. [IMG]

Zero and Bermann - definitely a pair! :aheartbea

    19. Unoa Zero also looks good next to Super Gem boys ~ x3

    20. Hobby Japan states September but they are notorious for running late so you might not be getting anything before say, December.

Aftermarket is a good option if you need her right now because I do think you will be in for a long wait. But if you ever ordered Soom then you will be used to long waits :D

    21. i normally order from volks, and it's about a 3 month wait. that's an okay wait but 8 months is like a full year, i heard that's how it was in the first ordering period. yea sometimes when you pay the money up front then you kind of want the doll sooner. but if it was like half now and half later then i think it's okay to wait a bit. hmm i might not be into the dreamy heads so much, but if i sell those then it could compensate for the price a bit. then i think it's worth ordering them. i will see how it goes. i kind of need to confirm if i won hijikata or not...forgot when i am supposed to find out.

    22. First of all you have to be a member.

Then you send them a message on their Q&A board.
List what items you are interested in - they are numbered.

They will then revert to you with an 'invoice' on the website.
You can then accept it as is or raise questions towards it or possibly change it if you decide to take something off/ add something.
And, if you don't want it at all, just let them know.

I believe you would have up until their deadline to make payment after you accepted the 'invoice' but if in doubt, again, ask them on their Q&A board.
Actually, n66x mentioned this in post #241 ^^

    23. Thank you n66x and pianissimo for the suggestion! Wow, pianissimo, that is a beautiful pair. :D

    24. Unons can look good with Iplehouse EID men too. :D EID men have all the hulk and manliness to have a Unon girlfriend.

Though, pianissimo, that shot of your Bermann and Unon is adorable too! <3

    25. hahaha yeah U-non cannot just be anybody's girl,XDXD

    26. I received another quote from Crescent Shop. I did not realize that shoes came with the kit, plus FOUR face plates. That is a nice package. So I think I will go ahead and purchase one. I talked with a gal in my doll club and she spends big bucks on her antique dolls, $3k and up. So this seems like a bargain to her! I got a quote of $1304.74. I assume you all got the same. Since we don't pay for postage until later, it does not seem so bad. And I have wanted this doll for over two years!

What really sold me on getting it, was seeing the measurement I think Lindsay posted comparing her to other bigger dolls. I really think I can use a doll this size. And I found a spot in one of my doll cabinets too. It is the long wait period that is going to be hard. But i figure it will give me time to get other things done. And winter is not a bad time to work on a kit.

    27. That is great, dollswest, congrats on your decision! I bet you'll make some stunning creations for her, she has such a sexy figure.

And an EID would be perfect I bet. :D They aren't all leg (I display my dolls seated, lol) and would make a Unon look quite dainty. ^^

And another way of looking at the price -- given what you're getting, its similar to having a service get you a Sato FCS doll. Doesn't seem as bad when I think of it that way, since I've been toying with the idea of getting another FCS girl. Gaah, temptation. :XD:

    28. Yay finally I can partisipate this thread <3
The set has extra goodies this time, but the price is still quite salty for one kit... But it might result to less people ordering, do you think they might manage it faster? Like happened with Chibi Unoas. Except of course they were manufactured by AL and not Hobby Japan.
Personally I've waited so long for this after missing on the lottery when they were bublished that I'm not passing this opportunity.

    29. I got up this morning still pleased with my decision so I know I made the right one. Maybe we will get them before September if not that many order, given the price and weak economy everywhere.

And I agree, the Iplehouse EID would look great with her! And they are having a special on the big boys. However I am waiting for my special JID and after paying her, another Chibi and Lusis kit and now this one, I might have to forgo any more purchases for a bit, at least until May! Thank goodness my dear hubby is so supportive of my hobby. And I spend way less on it than my daughter does on her horse, lessons and showing!

The only discouraging thing about SD dolls is you cannot put photos on this thread. So guess I will make a special page on my website for her and put in the link here. I have gotten used to that here. However, it is nice to go through a thread, read the posts and look at the photos. Sort of helps you decide if you want the doll. And it is SO much fun to look at all the beauties out there!

Well I need to run off to my airbrush lesson.....

    30. I'm disappointed they don't offer a smaller breast version/alternative. Does anyone else feel this way?

      Jay

    31. to answer the question about her bust plate,
her figure is created in such a way that the bust is really what made her so unique,
back when she first was released in 2007 the high-cut joint right under her chest shape
was a very fresh pioneer idea not used in the BJD world.
after Zero many other companies ditched the unflattering waist cut design and followed with this new idea which even reached the 1/6 figure market(the new bodies from triad toys for example)....

you definitely CANNOT sand the chest part atleast not to make a satisfying difference since her chest plate
is kind of hollow on the back and the plates make a perfect unison contact the way they are designed.

if you people are looking for a similar doll but with a more girlish figure
maybe U-non is not the right doll for you,
but U-noss is very similar to U-non but more in a
softer girly approach than the womanly figured U-non.
      -

    32. Haha, not very easy to suggest someone get a Unoss instead. If they ever make Unoss or a doll similar again I'd be ALL OVER THAT. I need to manage my time better and take photos of my Unon and Unoss together :)

I'm debating taking Wig B off my order, it's nice but I don't know about it's price and the wait.

    33. Oh my gosh ^^; I'm still waiting my quote but I know it's gonna be pricey!!! But when the photos of these girls were first released I swore I'd have one someday! I won't give up this chance even if it means selling off half my current collection *daydream*.

I asked for a quote for the unoa freak magazine too even though I don't know what's inside of it >.>... is it just photos?

    34. Mine was deadly :/

Definitely gonna try and shift some that has been on the verge of leaving for a while...

Unoa Freak, the first one, had lovely photos and patterns for making some of the outfits - so if you like your Unoa's then it is worth getting!

    35. Amanohara hahaha yeah i know it's ridiculous proposition, lol, but if you had asked me a few weeks back when the future of Unon was still undecided i would have told you that probably they could have had the same fate with Unoss if there wasn't another preorder for them soon(less and less and less Zeros popping up on YJA and second marketplace)...

I always wondered what a hybid between them would look like,
for instance what would the unoss head look like on Unon and the opposite,if the faceplates would ever become compatible with modifications etc...

      Turynn like d.ark implied I think if you're a U-Qfan
who has even had the slightest ambition in using patterns to sew it would be an amazing addition,

    36. d.ark & n66x - Oh thank you :D! If there are patterns, then I am definitely all over that magazine! I'm glad I asked them to include it in my quote then! Even if I don't have the skill to make them... still seeing them is exciting!

    37. yeah I ordered the magazine too just in case I ever decide to give a try at sewing :) I have some casual clothes coming for my Super Gem Amber and I was wondering if they will fit Unoa Zero :O Does anyone know?

    38. Tops should fit fine. I don't know about pants, skirts should?

      I'm debating if I should get the Unoa Freak book. I have Dollybird patterns I can't make any sense out of ^^;

    39. n66x someone had taken a pick of Latea and Marion plates on Unoss body, I think I found it from one of the links on the first post by scrolling down a bit...
Andreja I saw couple of pictures on the Flickr group where Unon was wearing at least Beryl's set and Cass's top, so it should probably fit? They looked quite good too.

    40. Wah thanks for the info <3 man it is so handy having an active bjd community, I am so excited :D

    41. My Zero Latea really could use some lovely sweaters, so I am thrilled that you are getting one! I just hope you make too many sweaters for yours alone, and must sell some on your site!
You will not regret your decision, my Zero is my absolute favorite!

I just received my Unoa Freak 2 today, didn't have a second to look at it, so I'm hoping to be able to peruse it abit tomorrow! I've been trying to keep up with this thread, but will have to re-read a few pages here to figure out how to place an order with Crescent, using the postcard in the UF2 book...

    42. I fit my girl in Cass's dress no problem but bust part seem a wee bit lose but not far off (that is what I remember but I need to double check on that). So I imagine that casual clothing would be fine. Jeans wise they both wear SD17's one. They seems really like stealing my boy's jeans and look dam good in it. I am sooooo excited you are getting one, she will look amazing!!

    43. I've been wanting Marion for a while, but even the kit is too expensive for my tastes seeing as I've decided to focus on my Dollstown collection. Plus after numerous Soom MDs and my current customhouse collection, I've had enough of long waiting times. Luckily I saw Everpurple/Aria Narvy, she reminds me of Marion so much and is actually a speical price so I've decided substitution is the answer to my Unoa longing. LOL. Good luck to everyone getting their gals. They are gorgeous!

    44. Yes, I've seen Super Gem clothes on a Unon. Looked great.

      Jay

    45. Thank you Wally! Yes, I am thrilled. I have been checking all the links here to get ideas on how she will be painted and just what look I want her to be. One thing about 2 face plates, one can be kind of an older, sexy type and one more of a school girl/business young lady type. I am not fond of knitting for large busted dolls but I will come up with some ideas. You have to be careful of buttons in the front, baggy waist lines, etc. But I do love a challenge!

In the mean time, I need to see about more shoes. I have read a few posts. What are the best fitting shoes for these big gals?
Or is there a specific thread here?
      Thank you in advance!

    46. I had mine wearing Dollheart shoes. Fit great.

      Jay

    47. Mine don't fit the DollHeart shoes I have ^^

      Also, Super Gem clothes can be way too big. senior delf girl clothes seem to fit very well, also normal delf clothes can be a fit, but might not close in the back. Also some DollHeart sets fit well, but again it's hit or miss ^^;

    48. I scrolled the tread rapidly, but could have escaped me...
Does the Dollmore or Sadol clothes fit them ? Better SD or Model doll sized clothes ? *_*
      Thanks in advance.

    49. Umm,
I can't efford through the crescent's service so I'm asking someone to order from Japan. Here're my questions

-Is ordering from Hobby Japan itself has to be in lottery?
-Is it possible to buy the book from the bookstore in Japan? Or I have to order from internet???

I'm worry right now. This is a huge oppertunity I'm afraid I'll miss if I don't act fast, and a huge amount of money I have to spend.

    50. Well I paid for my girl and already received a message from Crescent Shop that he sent in my application and money to Hobby Japan. YIPPEE! So I am hoping this will mean I will get the doll sooner, or at least I am assured of getting one. I did not think this was a lottery so I assume anyone that pays, gets the kit. Oh, I am so very excited. I have already been figuring up some ideas on what to make her. After viewing her measurements, she has a nicely proportioned body.

    51. Owww, Congrats!

Anyway, I managed to find someone in Japan to do the mailing for me but now I can't find a book!!! Amazon seems to out of stock! T-T

Is there anyone know where to get a copy in time for the application????

    52. BIC still has some:-

      UNOA Freak 2

    53. Can these dolls be crammed into Dollfie Dream clothes?

    54. CoreDrill also amazon.co.jp still has plenty of stock

riversoblood yes they can fit (but tightly) into DDII/L clothes and then DDdy and Zero
have just about the same measurements...
however with DDII that does not include anything that attaches their shoulders to their crotch as Zero have a longer torso hence for instance the suspenders of a one-piece bathing suit wouldn't go past her shoulders unless you stretch and damage the fabric..

    55. Oh, thank you! :-D

    56. The Luts Senior Delf SGS-03 SIDE OPEN For Senior Delf Girl Heel Parts are the best fit I have found so far. I bought them in white and black, and that's all they had when I ordered. They are about a perfect fit. I could not copy and paste the link, so go to e-luts.com, shoes, Senior Delf Girl, and they are on page 3. They are the only shoes my girl has that are really girly, except for one pair I found on ebay. Here's the current link for the ebay ones:
      http://cgi.ebay.com/New-1-3-BJD-Sup...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414dbfb951
The ebay seller told me two other pair they had would fit, and they were big enough, but the arch was all wrong. These pumps need a tad bit of stretching, but they look great and she stands in them, although I certainly wouldn't leave her standing in them and walk away.
My Dollheart boy sd13 boots fit her, but they are not as girly as she likes.
Currently, my zero owns the luts in black and white and the ebay cheetah pumps, and that's about it! I do have some boots for her, but for girly stuff, it's a hard find!

    57. Thank you so much! Madam Anna and n66x

It happened that amazon got a re-stock and now my book's on shipping process! I'm hoping that I could join this Unoa clan.

      Sorry for another questions,

Is that true that someone ordering from Japan has to enter Lottory while international order like via crescent shop hasn't? I was told by someone who once has a pre-order on Unoa Sist-Lusist. Is there any information on that coupon inside the book?

Thank you in advance and sorry to interrupt you guys conversation about the clothing.

    58. hey, CoreDrill,^___^
Sist/Lusis preorders and lotteries are originally handed and produced by AlchemicLabo,
they and Crescent-shop have a special collaboration together,
as C-S are their international representatives at the very moment,

however these preorders by U-noa Freak#2 are handed by a different company, Hobby-Japan,
who currently own the rights for production and distribution of all the U-noa Quluts Zero products,
and they do not share the same collaboration with C-S given no extra benefits,

so it's almost safe to say that whatever applies for C-S
applies for the rest of the participants too ,
      and the other way around,

... not that AL bends the rules much for C-S,
but they do offer some "conveniences" from time to time,
( from extra kits to group order merchandise discounts,
hence why C-S usually is able to ask an already fined total + fixed shp price
for AL products but not this time with this H-J preorder asking
for the fees+shp to be extra announced later individually to every client..)

    59. I have also decided to get unoa zero, i put up a message yesterday but they haven't answered yet:sweat Is it because it's a weekend they're not answering as quickly?
