This thread once had a large number of links to different DoA threads with official pics, display and magazine photos, body comparison photos, and foot comparison photos. These links broke with the forum change, so we have removed them. If you come across them again, or find other helpful threads/posts that you think would be appropriate here, please feel free to report that specific thread or post, with something like "Please link to this in the Unoa Zero discussion thread" or something to that effect and we can put it back. :)

    2. Thanks for making the new thread! This is as good a time as any to ask a few questions:

Has anyone used size 6/7 wigs on their Unoa Zero? I have found that Volks SD sized wigs are too big, and Dollfie Dream wigs seem to fit better, but I'm afraid to buy new wigs without knowing what size I should be getting.

Also, what company's clothes seem to fit her best, bust-wise?

    3. I have a question~ what type of resin are they made from? I remember vaguely the first editions were made in French resin~~

    4. I think you are on to another one there, you must be referring to the Limhwa girls.

They were in french resin to start with and you can now get them in several different ones.

The Unon only comes in one to the best of my knowledge.

    5. Nope, pretty sure it was Unoa, but maybe only the models for the dollshows or something ^^;

ah well. as long as they come in urethane it's all good =3

    6. Yes, it was the display models only that were in french resin.

    7. I'm trying to gather some good comparison pics of Unons with other similar-sized dolls....body and feet....for clothing and shoe finding purposes. Anyone have some pics to share? *pretty please* I'll try to keep the first post updated with useful info and links.

    8. Oh - I missed that part - that would have been cool though!

    9. I'm so excited to finally getting my Unon girl.. T_T I lucked out and found one on Y!J for around retail and BIN. I was trying to be patient and hope for another lottery, but considering my luck with them I just went ahead and bought her. XD

      I think I've got all the clothing, wigs, and eyes all down.. but I keep looking through the old thread and everything and I cannot for the life of me find a shoe size? What shoe size are they compatible with.. or a good place to order shoes? I think my girl is gonna be barefoot for a while until I can figure it out. ^^;

    10. The kit comes with 2 pairs of shoes, so she wont be barefoot

    11. How exciting ! I, too, am a proud new Unon Zero owner as of 2 1/2 weeks ago. Completing the resin prep and assembling her was such fun ! Staci is doing her gorgeous face-up, blush, man/ped and she is almost ready to come home. What a special and beautiful doll Unon Zero is. The kit includes eyes, a wig, and, as already stated, shoes. Have fun !

    12. Yeah, I'm aware it comes with shoes.. I'm just not a fan of the resin heels/shoes so I will most likely not use them. ;o

      I was really hoping to find a foot measurement at least.. but I haven't found anything yet. ^^;

    13. I just got my girl and I measure 7.6 cm

    14. Thier feet are 3 inches or 7.6 cm, the resin shoes they come with are so basic they could easily be modified to something more relevant to your intrest, I wouldn't be so quick to brush them off.

    15. Thanks! I did try to look up the Domuya dolls.. but the website is down for me. Domuya.net gives me a Page Load Error and I wasn't sure if there was another site.

I'll just slink away and stop acting like a noob now. >_> I'm sure you guys are sick of answering questions.

Aeneas> I'm familiar with the Unoa heel optional parts... and I really just didn't like them at all. ^^; Thank you for the measurements though!

    16. Maybe try Dollmore model girl shoes I got a pair of white high heel from there seems to fit her fine. Also boots wise try SD13 boys boot. If that help.

    17. That's an awesome link~ my model girl needs some shoes ^^;;

      I hope there will be another pre-order for unoa zero ;_;

    18. oh, lucky to find this thread, I just got my girl 2weeks ago, and sewn an one-piece dress by myself, I found someone sell the 22cm circumference hair which will suit, now I m long for a high heel shoe for her, but god, maybe the best way is ask one of my friend to preorder some shoes...sigh...T_T

fortunately, my friend can make some clolth for me, after I design one...

    19. They are both gorgeous Kayley, thanks for sharing them! I love the mohair wig you made them too!

My husband recently came back from Air Force training, so I hope soon to put my Unoa Zero together .. she's been in pieces for quite some time :/

I'm wondering, could anyone tell me if SD13 tops fit the Unon? I'm thinking SD16 tops are a little tight?

      :starcookie thanks! :starcookie

    20. The few clothing items I have for my unon were made for SD10 boys and girls and SD13 girls. SD shirts with long sleeves are short on the unon but fit and drape well.

Here are the measurements I translated from Hobby Japan 9, 2007.

Depending on how snugly it is made to fit, and the length of the sleeve SD13 tops may fit. SD16tops should fit well. Azone 60cm clothes are said to fit tightly sometimes. Unon shouldn't be able to fit SD/SD13 girl bottoms, also my SD13 boy pants fit her well in the hips and are a good length.

According to user MiffyGloss on Flickr 4D's SD17 jeans fit well.

    21. The two outifts I have for my girl are both SD16. They both fit great!
Here's a bigger picture of one of them:

The other outfit is a strapless dress, really no stretch to it at all, and it still fits really well.

I haven't had the chance to try any SD13 items yet though. :(

    22. Thank you both, and yes! I recognize that SD16 outfit now!

    23. Hi all,
I have a Unoa Marion fp and just made an hibrid with a dreamingdoll body. I have posted a thread here,
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268514
trying to help someone that want to do the same ( whem I was waiting for my Marion to arrive I couldn't find this kind of information and would love tthere was some...)

I saw in the old Unoa Zero thread some people asking about it and as I saw no answer so I thought I could put in here...
I hope it can help someone out there! :)

    24. Love your girls Kayley~ and I'm taking notes on the clothing. I got an outfit
from Soom (Super Gem) and it fits wonderfully. I'll post pix soon~ I
should have my girl all finished next week (fiiiiiiinally--- got married last year
and had little time for doll customs).

dhariana~ I am thoroughly impressed how you mimicked the headback. It
      looks like it works fabulous!

    25. Christy: Yes, it works perfectly. :) Thank you!! I hope other that made hybrids post them in there. I would love to see what people came trought for doing this... ;)

    26. dhariana> That's awesome :) You did a good job with her headback! I was thinking about trying the same with my marion face, but was looking around for a body that would match.

As for clothing, I bought a Dollheart lucky bag and everything I got fits! haha XD I was expecting the worst, and was pleasantly surprised.

The shoes actually fit! Granted, they are totally not my dolls style.. BUT this gives me a reason to actually buy dollheart shoes now since they'll prolly fit. :D

I also got the main dress from this set, http://www.dollheart.com/web/shop/clothes/1013g/ld196/ld196.html Which fits, but its a bit tight and really short on her.

Cotindoll also has some cute rocking horse shoes that fit.
      http://eng.cotindoll.com/front/bin/ptdetail.phtml?Part=ECS002C20&Category=101073

I'll try to get some pictures later! :D

    27. That reminds me - I also have a pair of Dollheart girl's boots which I was pleasantly surprised to find fit! I had been holding onto them for a really long time because they were such cool boots and now I've finally found who they 'belong' to! ;)

    28. dhariana: One of your dolls eyelashes is pointing down you could fit it by dunking an eyelash curler in hot water and use it on the lashes to curl it up.

And if you don't mind me asking, where did you get that hat?

    29. Hi Aeneas: Thank you for the tip. I already fixed that. :)
The hat came with the suntanned Re-Che. I think I like it best on the girls. ;) But Musedoll has a similar hat for the girls, take a look over there, it is lovely! :)
      Right here: http://www.musedoll.com/shop/step1.php?number=494

    30. What a pretty little girl she is Glad you got her done !

    31. Thanks guys ~ I did end up removing the quadrupled elastic for her legs and just using a
larger elastic doubled, for her legs so I could have enough room for some 14 gauge wire
to go through her knees. I was having trouble with her knees bending when I wanted
her to stand. It's working great so far.

Also, a little tip for if you blush her knees...to protect them, put a couple pieces of
moleskin above and below the knee piece (one in the joint of the thigh where it folds
over the knee, and one in the joint of the lower leg where it also meets the knee). This
will protect from resin-on-resin friction and her knees will stay nice and blushed. ;)

    32. I am just wondering are there anybody out there hot glue/suede their unon girl to improve their pose ability? Also I have order a Haute couture dress from Soda in market place which initially for my Sooah large bust and it fit my Unon perfectly fine!!! will try to post some pic later on

    33. Imagine my happiness to find this thread! Wow, really enjoy everyone's comments and pictures and excellent advice.

Recently I was very fortunate to be able to trade for a Marion. I'm not sure of her complete history, but she came assembled and with a faceup. But I redid the faceup because I just can't keep my grubby little fingers off faces! But that's what I love about kit dolls--the customization. My girl's seams weren't sanded, so someday I'll take her apart and do that.

She's rather loosely strung but still stands very easily and such. She also sits on her own easily. I do prefer my dolls a little on the loose side if I had to have a choice between loose or tight. But I think I'll try to tighten up her legs. The stringing system is a little scary to me, but I'll be brave!

Mine didn't come with original eyes so I'm using these for now and I actually like them a lot. I'm pretty sure they're Eyecos.

I have a Latea faceplate on layaway because I want to have the whole set. But, honestly, I do love my Marion! I put a couple of pictures of her in the gallery, but thought I'd share one here, too. Mods, if that's not ok, please delete.

I hope others will continue to post their experiences, advice and pictures of their Zeros here.

Here's my Coquette (darned eyelashes kept getting caught in her hair):

      Jay

    34. General picture sharing of these girls has been moved to [thread=283522]this thread[/thread] in the BJDopedia! Picture posts in Discussion should be illustrative of a point of conversation, like how a certain brand of shoes fit or how a knee joint fits together.

Feel free to share links to your Gallery posts in this thread. :)

    35. cutemeow, I have sueded my Unon in the ankles and hips. Can't remember if I also did the knees. She benefited a lot from this and now stands more sturdily with some grip in her joints.

Jay, don't be too afraid of the stringing in the legs!! The wire that the kits came with is a little fragile IMO, and I also put a thicker and tighter elastic in the legs on mine. The doll will pose just fine without the wire, it seems to be more of an extra precaution than a complete necessity.

    36. I'm sure this has already been posted so I'm really sorry but howmuch are they going for? I'm interested in Marion, and can they only be bought from the site now?

Sorry everyone for such a lame question it's just hard to find certain info on the search sometimes:sweat

    37. I would try YHJ! Often cheaper than getting them on MP here.

You should be able to get one for around original sales price with both faceplates and often with a full faceup and bodyblush so around 90,000-100,000yen + shopping service fees.

    39. Amara77, like d.ark said, Y!Japan is the way to go for now. You may or may not have known but Unoa zero went for sale 2 times as Mail order lottery. Once in Hobby Japan magazine for 50 kits and Again in a 3 tier lottery in Dolly Bird Mook (published by Hobby Japan) that was about 500~ish Kits. A kit contains both the faceplates for Marion and Latea. According to Alchemic lab website, Hobby Japan has the rights to price, sale, distribution, ect. There has not been anything about Unoa Zero in Hobby Japan Magazine for some time (Maybe I'll have my friend call HJ and see if I could get some news on a future lottery....) crescent will not do Hobby Japan lottery anyway because Hobby Japan is notorious for having delayed schedule.

    40. Thanks for the info:)
It figures that once again I've fallen for another hard to obtain doll:sweat

Is it worht the shipping and commission costs though to buy through yahoo japan?

And I did read that they were available from HLJ but they aren't any longer right?

    41. The 2 lotteries for Unoa Zero were in the later part of 2007 people didn't receive thier dolls for up to a year, I won in the first tier of the Dolly Bird lottery and waited almost 7 months. There is no news of a lottery or pre-order so I would say it is worth the shipping and fees.
If you wait for a lottery, you have find a deputy other than crescent and still wait 6+ months, if you wait for a pre-order you will still pay fees and still wait 6 months for your doll.

Honestly, for people outside of Japan, until Alchemic Lab has the rights to unon then it will not be easy to get one, there will be no way for you to avoid paying some kind of overcharge or fees.

    42. Great, thanks for that info and link.

      Jay

    43. Someone asked if Dale Rae shoes fit our girls and I tried and the answer is no. Too short. A shame because the width size was a really good fit.

      Jay

    44. Do you know if she will be offered again?

    45. Unfortunately as of now no new information about any lotteries or pre-orders.

    46. I have been going back and forth with a question so need your thoughts and help please.

If you have both face plates, do you give them each a separate name or the same one? I just can't make up my mind about that.

      What do you think?

Thanks so much for your help and thoughts.

      Jay

    47. I would but then I so far manage to name my Latea plate as Crystal but the Marion plate still no name I still called her Marion. As I really like the name plus I am not great at nameing my dolls

    48. my Latea is Lenneth and my Marion is Hrist, named after Valkyrie sisters that share one body but only one can be "awake" at a time.

    49. Jay I feel that both Marion and Latea look different, and not actually two expressions of the same face. So I give them both their own names and personalities. :3

And yay! I finally got my Unon and painted the faceplates. ^^

      Hinano, my Latea:

      Rihime, my Marion:

    50. drat, nothing on Y!J right now :(

    51. Are you searching in English? I searched "ユノアクルス ゼロ" and got 2 results.

    52. wow,Yoake I really like how Hinano's faceup looks. She looks so sweet and cute with her strawberry hair pin ^^

    53. Lindsay thank you so much for making the V2 of the Unon Thread!^______^
I'll add my "sad" story as my Zero is somewhat cursed I suppose....She was send to a face-up artist(who disappeared for 10 months) and after a lot of weird situations the artist she was returned back to me,unpainted..and then I send her to another artist and it's been 6-7 more months and I still've got nothing...This is so painful, wish I'll be able to play with her soon/one day...

    54. like AENEAS wrote here is the search results I use..You can also register through LiveJournal and RSS to receive any new auction being added they usually come and go all the time...

    55. are you shipping to people with a lot of good feedback? ;A; I find a good faceup artist and stick to them like glue, forcing them to be my friend!

I can recommend people I trust and have sent over 7 heads to if you need it!

    56. I don't wanna name them but yes they are praised and admired, two of the really TOP professionals out there..The first artist was badly hurt by love and despair and the second one seems to be constantly sick...I understand we are humans and sometimes life can really get in the way but I haven't seen my doll(s as there are a dozen of unoa 1.5 along with the Zero) for so long it really is such a turn off to me..I hardly visit DOA anymore cause I keep feeling this bitter taste in my mouth,lol...

So I don't think I'll ever get a doll that needs to be send to a face-up artist ever again...and that's horrible cause I want a Chibi U-noa so bad now,lol..But I guess I should look into getting the completed Araki kit to avoid any further trouble and months of waiting...

    57. That is horrible :...( If I had such horrible luck I'd try my own hand at faceups.. but with a full time job and sewing commisions I wouldn't have the time ;A; the only other way I can think of is to find someone local you can bring the doll to yourself which may be hard depending where you live. I can't tell you to trust again after all those let downs but there are some honest people out there! people praised/admired doesn't mean you are always on the ball... a beautiful faceup can make you forget the wait. and people here are sometimes too afraid to say something badly about someone popular.

Also the chibi unoa painted from araki is not a kit, it is assembled.

    58. hahaha I'm really unlucky in general lately not sure what is wrong, lol!XDXD
I did put up a "fight" with the first face-up artist and actually had to constantly try to "hunt" her down for 10 whole months as she had disappeared and cut communication with all of us,which was really nerve-breaking for a lot of people including me...

Anyway I'm really trying to put this whole thing behind but the "healing process" won't start until I've eventually received all my dolls back I guess..
But I do agree with you there are people who are caring and trustworthy I just had some bad luck not bumping into some of them I guess..hee-hee...

Oh yes that is what I meant the fully assembled Araki doll so I wouldn't have to commission any more work on them...
Can't wait to see them they look adorable from the back!!!^_______^
