With Unoa soles she barely can stand >< So she is wearing boots, it help a bit. She is also strong as hard as possible (stupiiidddd leg system!) and with some patience she can stand quite well ^^

 

Thanx' a lot for the information... apparently you're having hard time too to make her standing/posing... I guess Unoa Zero is my most difficult to pose BJD I've had so far..

I'm finally happy to share photos of my Fairy Skin girls (after such a long time of procrastination).
They just came home from their faceup trip to Shaiel and I am so in love with them.
Will need to come up with names for them soon! XD

I've had really good luck with an Ariadoll body and a Buff headback -- they're now being sold by Switch as "Humming Doll," and I'd think that the body would work equally well (I think the neck may be a tiny bit shorter, but you could compensate for that by stacking a couple of KIPS discs under the head if it wasn't sitting high enough for you. And the Ariadoll body has a LONG neck, anyway!)

I keep saying that I need to take pictures of my two girls (one Unon, one hybrid) together for ages . . . it's because I didn't have doll stands for girls as tall as they were!! I finally discovered that Volks sells "extenders" for their stands to make them tall enough for SD16/17 dolls, so I can finally safely stand them up and pose them together without worrying about either one taking a fall!

Looking forward to seeing your beautiful girls in the lovely clothes that you make!

I'd love to see both your girls, too! I dreamt that I chanced upon a second body for one of my Unon faceplates, lol.
Now I'm wondering if Humming Dolly's white skin matches Fairy skin.

 

yoake.. your girl is gorgeous! talk about procrastination... me too I also like the idea of each girl has their own body. Not a big fans of sharing one body too if it's possible for each head to hv their own body.

I've just receive the half-closed eye faceplate form 2012 order. I ordered the normal skin set to match my old Zero from 2010 lot. And later batch comes out very lighter and pinkish!


I just wonder, did I keep my dolls so badly they turned yellow, or Hobby japan change the color of the resin they've used?

I've put my Zero next to Volks (dollpa24, 2010) resin and it doesn't seem yellow. Both of my dolls are kept in dark closet and rarely come out to sunlight, I played with them only in a dim room without sunlight or at night. Although the body doesn't coated with UV-cut, the heads (both Zero's and Volks') do, and the color of the faceplate and body (of Zero) are matched. So I think there's no evidence of my doll going yellow (please correct me if I'm wrong).

However, I brush the faceplate with ocher shade and it came out fine ^^

I don't notice any difference in color from the picture or in real life after faceup. What a relief!


Anyone have the same problem with me? Please share!

Honestly, Unoa resin tends to vary from year to year -- he's probably using more pink in this formula. Thankfully, blushing should help!

A little late in response, but I agree with Captainkyo on the loose legs! I bought a strung Unon a few years back and she was very very well strung because she could stand very sturdily on heels and without. I didn't even know if she had wiring done... My fairy skin unon now only has strings and her legs are so wobbly. x_x No fun getting her into her heels on a stand..

yoake, switch resin is a little bit yellower in tone than the fairy skin, I just snapped this quick shot for reference; it's a brand new humming dolly hand next to a year-or-so old fairy skin hand.

Adamantine Ohh that is very helpful! Thank you for sharing an image of the resin difference! I guess the Humming Dolly white matches Volks beauty white more, which is a touch yellower.
x_x I guess it will be breaking the bank to acquire another Fairy Skin body released during the same time.

 

No worries, though I did mean to mention that as far as I know Sadol white is also very 'pure' and doesn't seem neither yellowish nor pinkish very much like the fairy skin- so perhaps there is potential in the sadol body. (plus it's gorgeous!)

Very jelly of the fairy skin girls, I tried really hard back in the order period to make the money for one but alas.. It wasn't my time ;o; - still I'm happy to see everyone elses girls, so shall go back to stalking this topic.

 

Adamantine: Now that you got me thinking, I'm wondering if the Unon fairy skin would match a Fairyland white skin since the Feeple65 body makes an awesome bombshell.

 

My daylight picture failed, because even during daytime it's so bloody dark in here >.<
But for now here is a pic I snapped with flash, though I forgot to add that the headcap in the image is a couple months old MNF beauty white.

Threw the cat hand in there to have something even whiter than all of the rest I guess ..

But just like the image (sort of ) suggests, current Switch WS is closer to FL white and Fairy skin lingers somewhere inbetween the two. ^^; I think F65 could definately work, though!

Adamantine Gosh, thank you so much for taking the time to show us the resin colour comparisons with the fairy skin! this is so useful! Fairyland's gonna release their Feeple65 dolls again this Friday, and I wonder if I'll have enough funds by then to experiment with the colour of the body with a faceplate!

I was just wondering if anyones tried, or has seen a modded unoa body to fit other heads?

Gorgeous, gorgeous Marions and Lateas! My Girl is a bit of a mess right now, a popped elbow and a knee joint, broken knee wires. When I get a chance, she'll get restrung and thick wire put in her, sick of her all wobbly when I try to have her stand. i wish I got a stand for her when I had a chance too.

Does anyone know if Iplehouse SID clothing fits Zero? Especially the bust/corset types ones. I think her torso is a bit smaller but I wanted to be sure. I read the shoes fit perfectly, but she needs more clothing.

 

Amanohara: I have nYid clothes (corset also) but they are too loose for Unoa Zero, so I guess SID clothes are even bigger. Zero is more slender than Iplehouse SD girls.
But some Eid/Sid/nYid shoes fit to Unoa Zero.

 

thanks lupurt, I was really hoping the nYid clothes would fit, I think skirts and some shirts would be ok?

 

I have the jean short EID shorts on my Unoa zero, and while a bit lose, they still sit nicely on her hips. i think it looks fine and its better to sit in them too.

I just received my Unoa Zero Marion today after waiting so long for her to get customized and arrive! It is too dark to take pictures of her now but I will tomorrow.

 

... and here she is! My Unoa Zero Marion Didi with her new pal Unoss Bebe. I am still fiddling with Didi's looks here but her makeup is rather stunning, and kind of dark! I am not sure what to make of her yet, as she is kind of demanding as soon as she gets here.

 

How many beautiful Zeros! I managed to buy a faceplate + headback, since it seems I can't find a whole Zero (but I'm keeping on looking for her!), and I was wonder which body would fit her better. I am thinking about Sadol Honey 63, measurments are quite the same and it's a nice body, even if it doesn't seem to have a great posability. Any advice, please?

 

Hey guys! I'm new to the Unoa Zero world and I'm considering getting one(: Does anyone have any tips for owning an Unoa? I've heard they're a bit fragile, are they more fragile than other BJDs or are they the same? Also, I've heard a lot about knee wires breaking, are they easy to replace?

christinopia: Congratulations with your faceplates! It is hard to get almost anything Unoa Zero these days! Wish I can help you with bodies. I am still getting used to mine.

Hi hi QueenObvious! I am new to the Unoa Zero world too (just got my Didi up there), but here is what I can tell you. To me anyway because I own so many different kinds of Unoa bodies that I don't think they are more fragile than any other bjds, not compared to my Unoss anyway. Unoss weighs a ton compared to Unoa Zero believe it or not, despite the size difference. Different resins by Volks maybe? Volks resin tends to be heavier than other dolls I noticed.

I am also not concerned about the wiring of the Unoa Zero's legs. They are more like a 22 or 24 gauge wire (leaning towards 24 gauge), available in any craft store if the wires do break. All you need is a jewelry wire tool to bend the wire into the shape that Araki instructed and you should be fine. There are instructions on how to twist the wires back together online as well, as well as in Unoa Freak 2. You won't be stranded here.

I hope this helps and good luck finding the girl of your dreams!

I got a second zero body on the way for me to mod and blush, the resin match is really close i think already tho~ xD

This really is my favorite body, i'd love for all my dolls to have it :3

 

@QueenObvious: The only thing that I find fragile about the Zero are the tiny resin covers that are inserted in the elbows to prevent the joint slot from showing. It makes it look VERY pretty and seamless, but sometimes it gets loose and pops out on mine. Not a problem though ^^ I just snap it back in place. I used to be very afraid of breaking her hands since there are no replacements, but they're actually more durable than other company hands because the fingers are molded together I even cuddle with her sometimes! She's a really sturdy doll. Also, do not worry about the knee wires. I actually took mine out and find that it doesn't affect her posing. It's meant to assist her when she uses the double joint in her knee. She has the best posing arms and can sit with her legs crossed without leaning on anything

 

Hello!~ thanks everyone for the tips ^^ I'm very excited to get my girl, I bought her off the marketplace obviously and she should be shipped soon c: I'm gettig two faceplates so I might be interested in hybridizing the second one in the future. Either a Feeple65 or an Ariadoll/Switch body..depending on whether I want her to be taller or shorter ^^

Regarding hybrid, I put Marion head (lips modded) on Volks SD16 body using Buff's headback. The result is awesome.

captainkyo I've only seen Volks heads on the Unoa Zero body before, mainly Anais. Didocat was the first Anais x Unoa body hybrid I saw. Another SWD Tae x Unoa body hybrid belonged to CSaw on Flickr.

christinopia I managed to get my Marion head + Buff headback onto a Feeple65 body, and they were both white skinned, so the match was slightly easier. Not sure if resin match will work for Unoa normal skin with Feeple65, but I would think the Honey63 is a nice body.

Yoake, I ordered the Honey63 yesterday! After many researches, I found out that Sadol normal skin is a good match with Volks, so I suppose it should work with Unoa Zero too. Anyway, I'll give her a faceup after receiving the body, I think that with some blush it will works fine

captainkyo My senior friend modded his Zero's heels. He sanded part of the heels just to make her fit into SD13 shoes. I have no photo ref, tho.

 

OMG I never thought of hybridizing an Unoa Zero, but those are some awesome photos yoake!

I am probably getting Didi done again. Something about her is just off and I can't tell what it is, but I guess I just have to bite the bullet and get her redone.

 

Thats what i was thinking of doing, the heels. and a little bit under the arch of the foot, and a little on the sides of the pinky and big toes.

Do you know if she was still stable after that? Able to stand?

He's a Unoa Latea sleeping with mods and faceup by Bluoxyde, on a Lovelyhouse boy body. I always wanted a 'big' Unoa boy, and this body looks so much like the Unoa MSD body.

Hi! I wonder where can I get the Unoa Zero's backhead? I bought a fullset Unoa Zero from the last PO but all four heads are only have 1 body to share. Yes I'm having the fairy skin unoa zero! I've read through this thread and see ppl's getting their Unoa Zero hybrid already with the headback, but no further information concerning where to get the headback OTL

 

Buff makes the headbacks in batches and sells them in the MP here on DoA. I believe there are some for sale, but they may be for Unoss. And usually they are limited quantity.
