How is it secured, since it doesn't have the elastic-over-the-head mechanisms?

(I did PM Buff and bought one, so hopefully I'll find out soon on my own -- but it would be good to know in the thread, so that everyone can see.)

The faceplate just snaps into place, beautifully, and securely. It's genius, really! Buff did an amazing job on these!
My Latea burst into tears of joy when she met her sister...lol!!!!

 

What Wally says is true. The plates 'snap' on. There is no putty necessary, or elastic, or magnets or anything else.

FYI about Buff headbacks for *1.0* Unoa Zero girls -- my Marion face fits beautifully, but I had to take out the teeth part to get my Latea to work with it, and even then it was a gappy, insecure fit.

I don't know if the second release of Latea is different -- has anyone gotten a Latea to work with the Buff headback? (The problem is that the forward-pointing 'tongue' at the bottom of the faceplate doesn't seem to work with the interior sculpt of the 1.0 Latea head.)

Since it fits wonderfully for my Marion, she's going to be getting my Ariadoll 14yrs Elegance body, and my two Latea girls can share the Unon body. The headback is a great fit for the Ariadoll body, and my Marion looks fab on it!

Pictures . . . someday, either when it stops being in the 108-degree range in TX (on the days when it isn't raining), or when I get some decent lighting set up in my studio. (Still recovering from two moves in two years, so my unpacking isn't going incredibly fast.)

The nice thing is that the Ariadoll body took inspiration from Unoa Zero and SD16, so my girls look really nice together and there isn't a proportion/style mismatch. W00t!

Ashbet I just received Buff's Zero headbacks. Tried with Marion on SD16 body and it fits perfectly. (I even prefer Marion on SD16 rather than on Zero body, for proportion's sake. lol) I haven't yet tried with Latea. Will report how it works.

I received Buff's Zero headback today (group order with Rudy). The headback fits fine on Marion but no for Latea. There is a large gap which I tried to force it fits in many ways but Latea faceplate just cannot fit on the headback ^^"

Here is Marion on SD16G body, using Buff's headback. IMO, her broad shoulders may not suit well with sweeter, more feminine character. But mine suits well. lol

For Latea, I've tried but her teeth part cannot work with the lock. My teeth part is glued so I cannot remove it. I have no spare Latea faceplate atm. Raykit has tried with her Latea and already reported the result. Hope my info is useful.

 

This is photo I took for Buff's headplate.

Personally I do not recommend it for Latea hybrid.
I tested with Latea normal plate x 1, Latea sleeping plate x 2.
And all of them gave me the same result - a large gap seen in photos no matter how much I force them into the headback
With teeth part, the result gave more wide gap. (I didn't took photo).

 

I will see if I can get ahold of a Latea plate in order to do modifications to the headback to fit Latea. I will add this information to my sales thread, thanks for keeping me informed! Those of you who have Lateas that bought my headback for it, please contact me.

Is there anyone that can tell if it is Latea in general, or the 1.0 plate? Does anyone have a 1.0 Marion plate that fits on just fine? Or any ill-fit Marion? I want my warning information to be as accurate as possible.

So I know they haven't gotten a news thread or anything yet. But I just saw pictures of new 50+cm Unoa boys? Google translate wasn't very helpful in getting a name. All that came out was "Eruvu". But I saw a few pictures of them from Dollshow 35. Anyone else have any more information?

 

"Older/Big Brother"(not real name) is 50cm,comes out at 25.10.2012(very limited pre-lottery) and there'll be one "X" and one "L" faceplates/characters,
he is considered to be the male pair of the U-noa Quluts Elder Sister for the moment, and we assume the Hobby-Japan kit pre-order will happen around Christmas time..

I got ahold of a Latea plate and I am working on the modifications that let the headback fit better. So far, haven't gotten it perfect, but did get it close with a very small adjustment to the bottom scoop parts.

So, this is where you should take away resin to fit Latea better, those of you who already have a headback you wanted to use for her. I can now do the modifications myself for you, since I have a Latea plate.

Does anyone have any news regarding the Unoa Zero Fairy Skin preorder on DollyBird 17, supposedly happening right now?
I'm sure there are a couple of us who would be very interested in the ordering details!

it's everywhere in the description of the magazine, what comes as a surprise is the fact that based on information provided in AL's twitter we were excepting the new big brother doll to launch with this magazine for their first pre-order and now it suddenly changed into a fairy skin U-noa Zero pre-order

 

Oh wow! I would love to know more information! What little info I can find, it looks like she comes with decadent faceplates? Am I seeing that correctly? *A*

I wonder, if the magazine is already out, would it be too late to ask Noppin about running orders?

i don't think it's too late to ask Noppin, the preorder will run for a long period of time so there's still time for them to organize something if there's the demand..

I got a reply from Masamichi of Noppin! They are awaiting their copy of Dollybird to find out how to order and prices. There will be an announcement this week for ordering information.

I'm a big fan of AUC and seeing how pretty her Unon is (and how her wigs will be in the new kit), I feel like I should try having a Unon again. ;-; Now with pretty pearl shoes~ I cannot wait to bust my bank account. *wry*

If noppin does offer for the preorder, how much do you think they will be?

 

For the previous preorder in 2010,the Unoa Zero kit costed 99,800yen and came with 4 faceplates 2 pairs of resin shoes and a default wig.
There were other optional wigs/shoes/parts available but they had to be ordered separately with additional charges.

The fees came up to over 10% if I recall correctly, because back in those days Noppin was still sending out quotes in USD and might have factored in the poor paypal conversion rates in the service fees.

She will be coming in kit form with 4 faceplates, 2 pairs of resin shoes, a wig and acrylic eyes just as before.

The optional parts includes the new decadent faceplates in NS too!

There seems to be two order periods available, the first ending on 20th Dec 2012, estimated delivery in March, and the second ending on 21st Jan 2013 with estimated arrival in May.

Correct me if I didn't get that right!

I'm still hoping for news of the Decadent faceplates for the regular 1.5 Unoa girls and boys, in 1.5 resin or freshskin -- does the magazine happen to mention any news of those? I'm going crazy not knowing how to get my hands on them!!

The Fairy Skin girls look so stunning -- I'm tempted by the NS decadent FPs, because now that Buff has a headback that will fit Latea, the Zero girls have a few more options . . . but given that I currently have 3 FPs (two Lateas, one Marion, and I have one Zero body and one Ariadoll body/Buff headback) and my poor big girls don't get enough love, I probably shouldn't indulge. I already have a terrible Unoa faceplate habit for the smaller girls, LOL!!

Ashbet, I have the same problem, I have so many Unoa 1.5 faceplates and I'm slowly accumulating Chibi as well. My Unon has one body and 4 faceplates, I would love decadents for her too @__@ I really love the look of the fairy skin girls, but I think my biggest love are the faces. I'd love official decadent 1.5 faceplates too.

captainkyo, you need to pay in full upfront with Noppin, at least for the preorders I've joined we needed to. There will be all the info posted ahead of time.

 

Just saw noppin updated their site. want expecting the price to be 1500USD. I want to get some of the extras as well, I guess its a good thing there's lots of time lol

Yes, fairy skin is white skin for Unoa. They refer this skin as 'Fairy skin', I think it's cuter wording ^^

Gamekitty The Unoa Zero has a 2nd order period this time around, so Jan 18th would be the last day to put in your order with Noppin. Which means there is still ample time to save up for her!
It is a much needed extension period for such an expensive kit if you ask me.

 

The option faceplates B, are those normal skin or fairy skin?

 

The Option B decadence faceplates are in NS, written on the description that they are resin match to the 2010 girls!

Oh my goodness, this is amazing. I have enough cash on hand to order this now, but Christmas is coming up, so.... I need to save that for holiday shopping. I'm so glad they're doing two preorder periods! I can see my dreams of Unoa ownership being reached in the near future

 

SO wishing I did not discover this preorder, but alas, I was having one of my regular AUC drooling sessions - I have a slight obsession but am never rich enough to battle it out for her stuff on auction - and stumbled across it!

I've wanted a Zero for years, but the price was always a big set back in me ever getting one, especially as they come un-assembled and I physically can't assemble dolls myself due to my long nails. x_x
But now here we have fairy skin, which I absolutely adore, combined with AUC wigs.... it's one of those situations where I'll be kicking myself FOREVER if I miss out on this chance
Of course on the other hand, the money does not exist, and no one is buying anything at this time of year so it's not like attempting to sell anything will help in the slightest!!

Even knowing this, Dolly Bird has been ordered, so it looks like I'll be crying over that in a couple of days time!
