Heheh, no way, don't worry! Everyone's time comes eventually, there can only be one winner at a time, haha I'm glad you won her so we can see pics! I can't wait to see her new faceup :3. I would send mine for a faceup too but I was trying to do it myself.... she may eventually be going to a pro though, hah~

Orangey34: My girl is currently at a faceup artist's house. I got a friend that does all my little Unoas, but because she does all my Unoas she is on the queue

I did not win the little boy I was staring at because I left town :'( AND it also seems like the boy on eBay is no longer there either. I wonder where he went.

 

Ahh she arrived today! I'd post pictures but my camera is dead for some reason >_o She's in need of cleaning I think, and I want to have her face-up redone but I'm just excited she's here!

 

There's a Fluorite Auction on Y!J right now (shortly before ending though) - damn that I have no spending money atm or I'd be bidding!

 

Yay! I finally got a Azurite! I couldn't sleep all night and had to get him! I am so broke right now but you don't see 3 Azurites on 1 month just passing by like that, so I seized the opportunity and get him anyway. :3

 

Congratulations GameKitty, you won the Azurite! That's awesome, he's still new and everything ;D. I wonder who won the Fluorite~

 

Thanks! This upcoming month it have so many girls coming already! I just feel so bad but I am happy that my Unoa doll collection is almost complete! That is a relief!

 

I feel like my Fluorite's posing capabilities are sort of lacking... It's highly probably that she needs restringing/that the elastic is loose but is there anything else I can do to help her pose? Her arms sort of just snap into one or two different positions and it can be frustrating... I've never owned a doll this small before so I don't know if sueding/wiring is viable? Any thoughts?

 

Cloudymoonx: I have the same problem with my Fluorite. I just keep on restringing my girl, tightening the strings every time until she can pose norm. As for sueding, I am sure you can do that. Just don't glue any of the resin boys/girls together or you will never be able to restring them again! That is the only flaw of our favorite boys and girls. The bigger girls/boys can be glued together but not the little ones.

 

Hmm what do you mean glue them together? Also, I mentioned this before but I've never owned a doll this small but I'm assuming that the Fluorite can use elastic made for YoSD sized dolls, like this? http://volksusastore.com/dollfie/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=307

cloudymoonx, that elastic will be too big. Unoa Lights use elastic that is of even smaller circumference. Fabric shops and hobby shops are your best bet for getting the right stuff.

edited to add: Oh, I think Gamekitty meant that you should not glue the leg parts together. Unoa Lights have this peculiar mechanism where the thigh parts have been split to two. If you glue these parts together you won't be able to string your doll again.

So i sent my Fluorite's (she's still lacking a name I'm thinking "Lilja" though) face off to Caroline at Viridian House for a new face-up and she recently uploaded some progress pictures and i just have to share! i'm so excited to see what she will look like once Caroline is done~

 

Oh my god, she looks so gorgeous already! Now I really, really want to snatch one up of my own XD

 

cloudymoonx: Wow! Lucky lucky you!! She's going to be gorgeous. My fluorite came with her faceup (I bought her secondhand) and I like it, but sometime think a rejuvenated softer look for her would be nice. They have such tiny faces that getting the detail into the eyelashes etc is such a challenge, but Caroline seems to have mastered her tiny faceups! She looks just like an MSD unoa

 

How incredible, cloudymoonx! I would love to send mine for a faceup too, maybe in the future. However did they get the detailing of the fine hairs so well?

She arrived today!! Here is a quick snap with my phone (I'm sick and don't want to fuss with my DSLR), I really need to figure out how to make the wig not look so wonky, and I need to restring her (eek) and remove the body blushing the first owner attempted to do but the face up is gorgeous (so ignore all of those other things haha)!

 

She's amazing!

 

Oh she is precious! I also have a Lusis that has Caroline's faceup on it. So darling and definitely worth the money!

Who here has restrung a Light? I'm feeling the impulse to do it but I'm terrified of taking her apart and never getting her back together.. I have the instructions printed and sitting on my desk but I'm a worrier.. I'm not even sure I have the right size elastic

So I successfully took her apart and put her back together.. but I think I made her posing worse

I have a new boy to introduce to the thread! My Sophie was super excited to meet him, and hasn't left him alone since he arrived. Mind you, it doesn't really look like he minds!

Oh my gosh, they are both so cute. Where did you get those wigs? My Lights have had... varying amounts of success with wigs.

 

The Azurite came to me with his wig, - I think it was custom made for him by his previous owner. The brown bob Sophie is wearing is a "Giselle" from Kemperdoll. I've given it a pretty serious haircut though

 

Oh I am so glad to see this guy pop up here! If I had the money I'd have snatched him up xD He's goorgeous together with your girl

 

I've been bitten by the unoa bug and have luckily acquired a chibi unoa lilin and unoa Luis. And I just found out about these unoa lights and feel like I will be on a forever search to get one of the boy and girl resin ones. Searched all over eBay, tumblr, DoA MP, general Internet, mandrake.... And no luck so far T_T

 

These are beautiful little dolls, such lovely, pleasant faces. I really must add them to my list.

 

Does anybody have any suggestions as for what type of stand to buy for the Fluorite? I have a Momoko who came with a stand but it's a little too tall and the thing that's supposed to encircle the waist or chest is way too wide/open. I don't have any other doll stands and I don't know much about them (I guess there's not that much to know..)

Just got a fluorite from Facebook! She'll be here in about 1.5 weeks! So excited

 

I'm about to purchase an Azurite with no head from FB! If anyone has a head or sees one floating around, let me know, haha! For now I may attempt to make him a temporary head or something- it was just too good of a deal to pass up, head or no head!

 

I managed to snag an unopened and unassembled Fluorite with faceup by Araki on Y!J, so I'll have the first of my grail dolls once she arrives!! I'm so excited, but also very nervous about the assembly lol. I'll be sure to post pics of the box opening and her final look once she's here! ^_^

 

Hey guys! I have a quick question. Can the Lights wear Blythe clothing? I remember reading somewhere that they can but just wanted to make sure.
Also, are miniature scale aka. 1/12 furniture compatible for them?

 

I'm not sure about Blythe but I believe they can wear the Azone Pure Neemo clothing. My understanding is that they can use 1/12 furniture.

 

No they can not use 1/12 scale furniture. To be able to use 1/12 th they should be around 14 cm. This scale will be way to smalll. They use 1/6 th scale.

 

Well that answers that then Blythe and Azone Pure Neemo have compatible clothing and can share with one another (plus most of the "Blythe" clothing is made for the Azone Pure Neemo as a result of many of the collectors putting their Blythes on the more poseable Azone bodies!)

Indeed, but Unoa Lights are a still skinnier than Blythe, just a note. A lot of Blythe clothes have an oversized fit on Blythe too, so it's even more so with the Lights. And naturally, their limbs are also longer. =). I've found Momoko clothes to be a nice fit =)

Hello!

Eyes... where can I find him some pretty brown eyes with smaller irises? I got these ones from Denverdoll, they're oval eyes (4mmx6mm) which technically fit but the irises are so big, it's like his entire eyeball is dark. The eyes are also slightly too thick, his head is held together with eye putty right now. Poor demon child needs new eyes.

 

My Fluorite kit came today, and I'm super excited! She's been one of my dream dolls since I learned they existed way, way, back when I joined the hobby in 07. I never really thought I'd find one. I'm hoping to put her together this weekend.

I honestly can't believe there are still kits of these girls and guys floating around after 10+ years since their last release. The original baggies are even still sealed (but not for long!). I almost feel bad opening them. Just almost, though.

@coffeetea Good eyes with small irises are so hard to find for this size. I know I've seen some nice looking ones on etsy by searching for, "bjd eyes small iris 6mm", but they were a ball shape, so, probably not helpful for Azurite.
...I might end up making some flat resin ones for my girl when I get to that point. It'd be nice to have an alternative to the defaults.

 

My little Fluorite is (finally) almost presentable. Next on the agenda is to make her some eyes. The irises of the defaults are a tad too big for my tastes.

It seem that they'll be casting only the head in resin and the body will be the same as sekuguchi's unoas light.

I briefly owned a resin lite boy in the past, and I loved him (aside from his slightly greenish tint xP )

 

I have not put my girl together yet. I’m wondering if these heads fit the resin bodies?

 

I can finally join this thread as an owner and not just an admirer!! I snapped this beautiful boy up on the marketplace, and after a generous 3 month layaway--here he is!! I'm making him a wig right now, but the faceup was one he already had and so were the eyes. I love them!



I'm so happy--I've loved the Unoa Lights for years, and I have been pining after Azurite in particular but the timing never worked out when I saw one for sale. Finally it did!

I won a YJ auction for a Fluorite yesterday and I'm so excited A brand new, unassembled, unopened kit!!

She's the version with pink limbs, which I think gives her a certain charm of her own. It's such a weird little detail, its endearing!

Not sure if she has a faceup by Gentaro Araki or a blank face but I'd be happy either way. I've wanted a Fluorite for years and finally snagged one

I really should take more pictures of Siren... I realized I haven't shared any here since I got him, but I have taken a few! These are all from summer a couple of years ago... Geez. Poor boy. He's a bit hard to pose because he's so loose, but I haven't had the courage to try and tackle that issue.

Oh thank you! I did, yep! I would like to make him another, but haven't gotten around to it... I don't even bother trying to buy wigs for my 1/6s anymore, it's too frustrating. Heh.

 

Congrats on finding one at last! I wish I had gotten my hands on these guys when the kits were easy to find.

Idoru - It is hard to find good wigs that fit. The head shape isn't the same in all 1/6 so what looks great on the website looks like a weed wacker hair cut on your doll, or it sits too high up.

That and I think sewn wefts wigs get too bulky the smaller the size of the head, what with the elastic and threads and everything It doesn't scale well for super tiny heads.

 

Just a quick pic of Siren, because it's been a while... I tried changing his eyes out, but man is it hard to find ones that work! Does anyone know any good places to get pretty flat oval eyes with relatively small irises...?
