Unoa hybrids? Other bodies that work with Unoa face plates (part 2)

Does anyone own a fairy skin Unoa faceplate and Spiritdoll white skin body? I'm interested in using the Smart girl body for an L-bi girl.

 

I don't have the spiritdoll body, but I know that the resin color isn't a good match without blushing. Spiritdoll whiteskin has more pigment to it, while fairy skin is very very white with pink. I'm sure it could be managed, but it won't match right out of the box.

 

Thanks for the response, @Minda! In that case, do you think Unoa fresh skin would be a better match, or is that too much more pigment? A minifee hybrid is also an option, but I'm in love with the Spiritdoll body.

 

I've checked the thread and just want to make sure I haven't missed any other options: I have finally decided that the only way I'm getting a doll that looks like Lusis is to just get a Lusis, but I REALLY don't want to slide down the slippery slope of having a typical slim MSD. I know Obitsu has a 50cm body that would put her closer to my small SDs, and that Doll Chateau is an option, but can anyone name any other options for a 50cm+ body that would work with a Lusis faceplate? Making my own headback isn't a problem if it comes to that.

 

there's really not anything that will suit a Lusis in small SD size. The DIM GSE body is a bit weird with unoa plates (but it's big and chunky and the resin matches well). You could try a Zaoll body, but...hrrrm, I just don't think the proportions would look nice.

The Souldoll NL girl body is 45cm and works, and the unoa elder sister body is 45cm and works.

If you are just dying to have an SD, I'd try to look for a Unoa Zero Latea plate. That will give you the unoa look and a lot more options.

Heh, I was pretty certain that would be the case, but my brain is being bizarrely stubborn on this one. I'm half-tempted to try a Zaoll body anyway. I can always use it for another smaller girl and let the Lusis plate move on if it doesn't work out.

 

What about the Soom Rosette Pure Body. It is not 50+ but close and slender and somebody said, the Soom Muse Body works; so why not this one. Here's a crappy pic

I can't find any listing for neck sizes on the Unoa bodies. Does anyone know what they are?

I have an unoa lusis on dollmore body at home and I'm looking for an another body for her. I'm really into the new body for soulkid but I don't know if it'll fit the unoa :/ Is anybody know?

 

I would also like help with finding a body for a Unoa Lusis head, I am looking at the Souldoll kids girl body and Dollits d.k.d girl body. Has anyone seen this kind of hybrid.

 

@BarkingPup they have an Circumference of ca 7cm and diameter ca 1,9cm. I saw the Bodymeasurements so often in the past, but when you look especally for them, they dissappear.

@Nightshade would like to help you but i only have an Soulkid NL Boy Body. Only put an Girlhead on an Minifee Body and i personally found it a bit Bobbleheaded. But my boy looks nice on an Minifee Moe Boy Body better than the active line and with the new more pinkish color the Resinmatch isn't so bad.
Whats with an Dollzone body? They got nice shapes recently.
And about an Island Body? I have an Boy Hybrid and it works fine and the Resincolor isn't so bad either.

 

@Froschschenkel Thank you for the suggestions. I am looking for a different body as I have my Minifee girls already and have a Mystic Kids head on a Dollzone body, which are wonderful by the way. So I was looking for something different, I will have a look at Island Dolls. Hopefully when I finally make up my mind and have enough money saved I can share the photos here.

 

@Nightshade ah, i know that. I want for my Boys different Bodies too.
I have still one Plate left and don't know which Body to choose. My problem is not so much the Resincolor but the shape of the Body. The Legs are the most important. There i can be really picky.

 

Be aware: Neck sizes given for Sewing are not going to be the same as the neck size for Head Matching- the Unoa neck flares out at the top. Or at least the Chibi Unoa body neck does, I haven't handled a headless Unoa body yet.

 

The regular Unoa body does not flare out like the Chibi or Elder Sister ones! Heaen knows why though xD but I had non-Unoa heads on m Unoa 1.5 body with no problems due to the lack of weird neck

I just bought an Unoa faceplate in fairy skin and wonder if it suits fairyland white skin? Also does anyone have a pic of a hybrid with the Fairyland Moe line body?

 

Quick and dirty pic of my Unoa hybrid - Unoa Elder Sister Ange + Buff headback on a Cerisedoll Lilycat Classic V.1 body!

The color matches nicely and I absolutely love the scale of the dainty body with the Elder Sister head.

 

Watching this thread... I have a BEAUTIFUL Unoa Ange head sculpt but I've had a lot of difficulty finding a body for her... she has the fairy skin. I wish Unoa would just sell the bodies separately... but alas. Everybody here has some stunning hybrids though!! I'm really digging the Aquariusdoll hybrid.

 

So, i have something new.
I decided finally on an Dollzone Body. And here a pic of my Hybrieds together.
Island - Dollzone - Minifee Moe

The Dollzone Body is suprisingly( at least for me) taller than thought. The colormatch is after a bit blushing great. The fit is great. I love this hybried.

Also, Dollzone and Fairyland NS for the new Skin color and Island normal for the old more yellow skin.
I read that Dollzone has changed there colors a bit. So, don't know how it now will work.

Ah ja, if you look closer, you will notice that the Island Body has the Unoa Boy Feet.
Because i want him to wear Getas, i swaped Feet with my elder Brother. It works good. I had to cut a bit on the backside of the joint but now he stands like a rock
And when i was on it, i put an Elder Brother Head on the Island Body,,, it is not perfect and looked a little bit Bobbleheaded but it can work with the right clothes and wig.

It's a Magic Time Boy Body and he fits great. He's really like the Minifee normal Body, maybe a bit bigger The Resin match is great with the old more beige Unoa Color. Really like that body.

I know Fairylands resin batches can vary a lot from batch to batch and am hoping someone can tell me what the match is like currently between them (I'm specifically looking for normal/fresh skin) I'm interested in seeing any a-line or moe-line hybrids anyone has

@Misoup You are most welcome. The faceplate is normal skin & the body is yellow skin. I had the faceplate color matched when he got a face up to go with the body.

I'm totally in love with 5stardoll's MSD girl body and somebody had it listed wayyyy back on this thread as a compatible body with unoa heads but unfortunately the old flickr photo they had linked to was deleted :,( Anyone have any pictures of this hybrid?

my sist is in the old unoa normal and the 5stardoll body is in their normal resin. in the pictures you can tell that the body is a bit lighter and pinker than the head, but the difference is barely noticeable in person. this hybrid also did not require any modding! the neck is a tiiiiiny bit long but you can only tell from certain angles, and even then it doesn't look much worse than some non-hybrid dolls with longer necks.

 

Alright, So does anyone have a new Normal-Skin/Yellow skin Dollzone doll that they can match with what i am assuming is either Old Skin, or Fresh skin. My cutie here, Ripley is a Old Skin/Fresh Skin Lusis on a Pink Skin Dollzone MSD body. [New one.] And i really love this hybrid, But the colors don't match. [Obviously, the body is far to pink!] No clue what year she is, Or really which skin-tone she is. x'D

 

The bunny 9 bodies work really well. It just doesn't have the torso joint.

@Alik I fear the neck might be way too big tbh and the face maybe a bit too childish... if you can wait till next week, I get the Lusis of a friend as a visitor and can test it (currently only got ES and Chibi faces here)

 

This is temporary for me... but I found out the new narae body works well with unoa heads. The light tan is almost a perfect match and barely noticeable in photos. You will need to remove the narae neck disc, but the unoa headback AND buff head back fit the neck perfectly. If you leave the disc it'll give her a giraffe neck.

I had seen some posts that the resin soul White body would be a good match for the fairy skin face plate .
I just purchased it and received it . Wondering if you have this information if it's a good match I think that the body maybe too white? I am fairly new to the ball jointed doll World. Finances Limited so I need to find one of the cheaper bodies for sale . Perhaps you could enlighten me since you do on quite a few Unoa./ hybrids

Hi there I know this post is already 3 years old, Apparently I will be having my very first doll which is exactly the same as yours a Unoa Sist faceplate in a Buff Headback and Minifee M Line Body. The seller also enlight me that he head usually snaps. and I was planning to use an "anti wear silicone" to place in her neck. Do you think it will work? Because based on the pictures there is already some chipping happening on her neck because of the Headback. Thank you greatly in advance

Hi there!
My Minifee body has had the neck hole itself modded to be smaller- or less wide- with a little epoxy putty. This and some hot glue sueding stops the "snapping" problem so she doesn't flip her head around awkwardly. I may have also sanded the top of the neck to fit the headback better. Your solution of using silicone there should work pretty well for now. When you have been in the hobby longer, if it is still a problem you could try what I have done.
You might also have to do some color matching with blushing. I tinted Aithne's faceplate with dye to match it to her body, and the back of her headback is blushed where it shows behind her ears so it matches the body.

 

Here's some pics of how my Unoa/Buff headback/Minifee body works.
As you can see the three resins were not well matched so I dyed her faceplate in some "petal pink" with a drop of "tangerine" to match it to the body. I didn't dye the headback. (the hot-glue around her head just helps keep her wigs on, you can ignore it.) If you look at the bottom of the headback I did blush it to match where it would show under most wigs but that's about it.

 

For reference, this is how a Buff Headback works. The grey parts are where I added Apoxy Sculpt to fit a magnet into the headback to help hold the faceplate on. You can also see how I have used more grey Apoxie Sculpt to make the hole in the neck have a smaller opening. This prevents the elastic from having too much room to move, which in turn stops the head from "snapping" about. Note how the S-hook sits in that little indent. All you have to do to take the headback off is pull it up and turn it 90 degrees. I have added low-temperature hot glue sueding to the inside of the headback's neck socket, which you cannot see here. It helps her pose better.

 

Lastly, here is the inside of the Unoa faceplate with the attached magnet I added using more Apoxie Sculpt. (Mods: sorry for three posts in a row, but these were a needed reference) The Apoxie absorbs dye funny, so when I dyed the headback it took the dye and turned very pink. You can also see the backs of her eyes and the silicone earplugs I use for eye putty.

 

So in theory, I could take a Minifee body, replace the neck turn key mechanism with an S hook, and attach my Unoa head? No having to make a head back and use the minifee neckpiece?

 

@Changeling jep! If you are comfortable removing the neckpiece and replacing it with an hook, it is the easiest way

 

To clarify: You will need a headback to use a Unoa faceplate, either from a Unoa or the maker Buff. You do not need to (and cannot) use the minifee neck mechanism with either of those headbacks.

 

Yep. I have a full Unoa head, front and back...and I know someone who will sell me a minifee body with the neck piece already removed, so yay me! Lol

How well does the hot glue work? It's a fab idea.

 

It's pretty flawless so far. The best thing is I can remove it by just peeling it off, since it is Low Temp hotglue. You really want to own a Low Temp hot glue gun in this hobby- they have so many crafting and dolly uses. They cost about $8 USD at our hobby stores, YMMV.

 

I am a craft supply addict, so I have a low temp gun. I am so trying this.

Does anyone know if Unoa old normal or fresh (and I think there was a 3rd light flesh color... like new normal or something?) match Supiadoll at all? I have a Supiadoll body from 2015 which seems to be a bit more yellow in comparison to their newer resin (which, ofc there is the age element, but I think the resin batches might be a bit different since then? I am unsure) and I am curious there is a decent chance that it might be an okay match with any of Unoa's light, fleshy colors. If so, I might just keep the body for a hybrid, since it's a pretty gorgeous body.

My supiadoll is a tad yellower than my fairly new dollshe oriental if that is of any reference.

 

What companies best match Alchemic Labo (l-bi specifically) fresh skin?
