Unoa Discussion Thread (Part 3)

Nov 9, 2005

1. Finally got my girl together! She was assembled and face-uped by her previous owner(s) but I was waiting to get her some clothes made and for her eyes to arrive from Ginrolo. We're still waiting on shoes.

So, here's Nehminh!

2. Very cute! I wish I could see her face better, though... Please take new pictures when she's got her new eyes...!

3. Everyone's Unoas are so pretty! I haven't taken pics of my blondie for ages so here is she, my Manna:

4. Hello! I've been lurking, enjoying the fabulous photos of everyone's beautiful Unoa girls. With so many different faceups, no two girls look alike, which is one of the things I like best about Unoas.

A few pages back lisaastrup wondered if anyone had comparison pics of Unoas with Souldoll Mayu. It's funny, I bought Mayu intending for her to be an unofficial member of my Unoa family, but I never got around to photographing them together. So after I read that post, I took a picture of three of my girls together: Lusis, Mayu, and Sist. Here they are:

5. Oh my goodness vermont chick, they are GORGEOUS!! I love the way they look together, and I adore their face-ups!! Very pretty indeed!

More pics please. :)

6. Thank you Meike. I can't take credit for any of their face-ups. All 3 came from eBay, so I am owner #2 or more for each. I believe Lusis has a face-up by Staci Carpenter and Mayu has Souldoll's default face-up. Sist had a very amateur face-up when I got her (like the face-ups I do, LOL), so I sent her out to Kat at Melancholy Kitties, who gave her a sweet look with freckles.

I'll take more photos soon, I promise.

7. She looks like an unoa cousin! Lovely to see her with your adorable unoa girls!

8. Guess who is finally done! Took me forever to decide on a hybrid body, finally settled on the DollnDoll 1/4 bod. Then I had to wait for a face-up spot for quite some time - but it was SO worth it!!

Here she is, my Lusis, tentatively called Caitlyn. Face-up by the wonderful Sweetly Twisted. :aheartbea

I am in love. :)

9. Love her shimmery eyeshadow, Meike!!

-- A <3

10. WOW! So many beautiful new pics, I don't think I can mention them all! Shara, I'm totally addicted to your photostories, so I'm a Manna fan! Meike, love your new girl, she's gorgeous! Her eyes and wig are just perfect! Roterwolkenvogel, amazing photo! Lyrajean, such a sweet girl you have!

My Lusis got a new wig today from FunnyLori, and I love it. I'll have to have a real photoshoot with her in the next few days, but she looks so lovely, I had to take a pic of her (on my kitchen counter) tonight!

11. She looks so lovely, wally, and looks so mature! Often unoas tend to be teens, but your girl looks like an übersexy twentysomething!

12. Your Lusis is always so gorgeous, Wally! :aheartbea

Here's my Phaedra, enjoying the sun in a pretty double-layered black lace slipdress made by Pinktink :D

13. Thank you wally! It's always so nice to hear from readers :) Manna is one of my dearest characters, but I also like her nemesis, Éire ;)

14. Shara, I love her nemesis, Éire too! It cracks me up how she totally looks the part in all your pics! (on the edge of my seat about Nuu...what is up with her?...ohhhh, don't tell me, I'll wait...)
Ashbet, your girl is gorgeous, I'm off to stalk Pinktink!
Quiet Queen, lusis was my first girl, and she looked so young then! She got a bit of an older faceup about 6 months ago, and I think it suits her. She's still the sweetest thing though!

15. What a row of lovely girls! Wonderful to see! But where are the cute and handsome boys hiding?

16. wally your girl is simply gorgeous <3
I love the eyeshape of your Lusis, Shara :D
Ashbet, your Lusis looks so pretty *______*

My poor boy is still floating somewhere between the US and Germany (since the 26th May) - so I still have noo photos of the twins together.
But I can provide you with some Allegra-Spam, who got sunglasses on Friday :)

17. Thank you!! And I always adore Allegra . . . is that a new wig? Where did you get those perfectly-scaled glasses? :D

Anita-n, your hobby room looks great . . . what an ingenious location for a stage-set for your girls!

-- A <3

18. Thank you Ashbet.
No, not a new wig - I always switch between her blue Leeke and her brown Crobi wig xD These are the glasses she wears and let me tell you they are very well made for that price and absolutely adorable :D

Anita-n I'm insanely jealous of you Unoas' room ;)
My dolls are all sitting on my desk and thanks to the fact that I only own MSDs it works pretty well... my only SD is with my Mom's EID on our couch xD

19. Anita-n, I LOVE the Wardrobe in the background too!!!

20. Let me introduce you upgraded and improved Bonaparte 2.0 [Unoa Lusis mod] on the exquisite Dollybird Cream body. I do love its proportions and gentle line of the figure!

21. Beautiful, Gamayun! What a sumptuous set up, and her lovely courtesan outfit is perfect! And wow, I don't think I've ever seen an 1.0/1.5 faceplate on an 2.0 body...!

22. Hi there. :)

I am enjoying seeing all your gorgeous unoas! I am totally falling in love with them with each photo. XD

I am hoping you can help me out. I am in need of a source for unoa lusis 1.5 mature bust patterns, preferably corsets or fitted blouses. Can anyone help me? They don't have to be free ones. I can work from measurements and build my own pattern but it sure would be nicer not to have to start from scratch, lol. It is for a swap that I am in.

If you are able to point me in the right direction, I would love PM's so that I am sure not to miss anyone.

Thanks so much and I hope to join you in this thread as an unoa owner someday. XD

23. Quiet-Queen, thank you very much for such a wonderful compliment! It was some kind a challenge to put the head and body together, but it works, and I love the result :)

24. Anita-n, your girls are gorgeous! I wish I could devote a room to be my own craft/hobby space. That wardrobe is just too cute! If you don't mind my asking, where did you find it? :3

25. Hektor is finally at home :D
And yes, despite his girly look and the ribbon in his hair he's a boy xD

No Twin-Pictures though since Allegra is currently visiting a friend :3

26. Summer in sweden

27. Haven't stopped by in a while, everyone always has such great pictures of their beautiful girls! :aheartbea

I have Reimi a manicure, strawberry style~

28. Oh, Aquadoe, that is the most darling manicure ever!!! :aheartbea

-- A :D

29. That's precious, Aquadoe <3

30. Hi, thanks , :) this wardrobe from Tyler Wentworth® 2004 "Bordeaux Collection" :
http://www.tonnerdoll.com/tylerdolls_2004.htm

Aquadoe @ - yum, yummy strawberries - it is beautiful style.:chocoberry

31. Aquadoe those nails are absolutely adorable :D

32. Gamayun >> Wow I love what you did with the unoa second body! Realy beautifull! :D

33. Thank you so very much! I had a lot of fun painting her nails and also spending some time with her. :)

34. Hello everyone ^^ I just spent the last couple of days going through all the lovely spam on these 149 pages! I have just adopted a Lusis a few days ago, and I'm waiting for her to come home ^^

Do you guys have any tips for a new Unoa owner? She is already assembled, she does have a face-up that I plan to change as soon as I have the time, but I've only ever seen a chibi in real life so if you have any tips or advice I'd be happy to hear them :D

35. Lady Sleepsalot CONGRATS on the incoming doll! You said you adopted a Lusis but then you mentioned never having seen a Chibi... these are two different gals, did you get the Unoa Lusis 1.5 or the Unoa Chibi Lilan/Rorin???

36. Sorry if my post was confusing ^^ I saw someones chibi earlier, she had ordered her with all the faceplates so I got to see all of them, and its the only Unoa type doll I've ever seen in real life :)

The girl I have adopted and waiting for, is indeed an Unoa Lusis 1.5, and not a chibi :)

37. I'm usually just lurking here enjoying the spam, but I have some spam of my own to contribute! :D
Here are my Unoas cosplaying as Tohru (Ageha, my Lusis) and Kyo (Rui, my L-Bi).
Once I get the right wig I'll have Hayato, my B-El cosplay as Yuki! :D

38. I do love love love Unoa couple spam!!! *___________* want MORE <3

39. Congrats Lady SleepsAlot!
I think the best advice is that you pretend you don't have any money to buy clothes for your Unoa, otherwise you end up spending a lot on that xD I think I've easily paid the same amount for clothes I paid for my girl and she demands more and more OTL

Have some Hektor since Allegra is currently with Ara*
[IMG]
(Hektor is still a boy, a girly one though xD)

40. Yes, beware letting on you have a PP account... Your girl will shop until she drops, and look sweetly innocent when the parcels start arriving - while she nabs them very innocently, of course!

41. Lol, thanks for the tip, it sounds like she'll fit in perfectly with my other dolls then ;) She'll be home tomorrow, I can't wait!

42. Hi, everyone, just dropping by to say hello. My lusis getting a rest after the photo shoot today.

43. Hello,
I bought a pair of black boots for my Unoa boy and they are too big!
The seller says it is for MSD with an inner length of 6.5cm but I think it is SD. :(
Can you help me out?

On this picture he is wearing one black boot and a white MSD girl shoe.

A comparison:

[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

MSD girl shoe, SD girl shoe, (M?)SD boy shoe

Is a MSD boy shoe really bigger than an girl SD shoe?

Thank you for your help in advance! I lack of clues because I don't have any SD :sweat

44. I'm pretty sure the black boot is an SD boot! 0_0 My JID boy has big feet and it's 6cm not 9cm. 0_0

45. An inner lenght of 6.5cm is not necessary for SD, my Iplehouse JID for example needed such a big shoe and he was MSD.
In general shoes that fit Unoas shouldn't have a bigger inner lenght than 6cm otherwise they are too big (at least that was my experience).
And always remember: MSD shoes might not fit every MSD, better check the measurements befor you buy.

Even though your boy shoes looks more like SD size though o.O

46. guls207, Roterwolkenvogel, thank you for your answer!
The next time I will ask for further measurements of shoes before purchasing them >____<
For me, they are also SD shoes rather than MSD shoes but... Aaaargh, it was my own fault... >____<
xD
Hopefully I can resell those SD boots ^^'
Unoas' wigs and shoes are always smaller than average MSDs, I think, that is really tricky O_____O"

47. MSD girls and boys have the same feet, and yes, 6.5 cm is the length of SD feet.

When looking for stuff for your unoas, remember that unoas are not MSDs, but 1/4 dolls, aka slim minis. Unfortunately a lot of people use the terms incorrectly, and you really have to watch out when you are shopping!

48. On the Leekeworld site, they have SD girl shoes listed with a size of 6.7cm -- I think that's the outer length? Still, an inner length of 6.7cm is pretty big for an MSD shoe -- I'd call it an SD girl shoe :/

-- A <3

49. I've come across several sellers that put in measurements for the inner size of the shoe, only to find out they were off by an entire centimeter, which we all know makes a huge difference when it comes to small feet like our dolls have! I hope you are able to sell the shoes and buy some you'll be happy with :)

50. Thank you all for your answers :aheartbea

Quiet Queen, it is really awesome what those 0.5cm-1cm differ *_* I will keep in mind that Unoas are slim minis! :aheartbea

Ashbet, by 6.7cm I think they mean the inner length because 5.4cm for an outer length MSD shoe would be probably too small ^^

Lady SleepsAlot, thank you :D I wish, I could buy them in real MSD size again ...but I wouldn't risk this mix up twice. Haha :chocoheart

51. Had some time to catch up on all of the new pictures of wonderful Unoas that have been posted in this thread.

Congratulations to new doll owners and those with new outfits.

Please let me introduce you to two new girls who have joined my Unoa Q tribe.

Vivian is on the left:

Face plate is a 1.5v S-SL (Sist dozing) and was acquired here in the marketplace from Canada has having had her eyes opened by Kesha in France and then her face up done by Viridian House.

Saki is on the right:
Face plate is a 1.5v S-L-SL (Girl’s sleeping) acquired from whence I do not recall with a less than desirable eye opening of the mold specific no eye wells/totally closed eyes. When she was sent off for a face up, I debated having her eyes evened out to be something more symmetrical. Ever so glad I did not do so because she has more human realism and heaps of personality with her splendid face up by Angel Toast.

See here and here for a full view picture of their TTYA outfits.

52. You have acquired two very unique and lovely girls...!

53. passioasfashion, they look wonderful! I always love modded Unoa FPs, they can look so different with a little modding. Both my own are actually modded as well.

I'm now pining over getting another FP. I was first thinking of a Sist sl that would be modded to have open eyes (in a kind of a lusisy shape), but I'm a little wary of the closed mouth since I seem to not bond with those dolls. The other option would be to get a default Lusis since that's the one I don't have yet ;) The face-up would be different from my other two girls so I think I could live with another Lusis in the house...

54. Have been lingering no and off here, thought I should post my Unoa's, although I hope hybrid bodies are okies?
Both of mine are modded faceplates too, on MNF bodies, I simply love the Unoa sculpts so much!
Just going to show my L-bi mod for right now...

55. Shara, you can never have too many Lusises!! :D

Slvrdrgn, hybrids and mods are always welcome! :kitty1

-- A <3

Editing to add a new pic I took for the "Unoa Fashion Show" thread -- all the outfit details are here!

56. passionasfashion I love your two girls! Do you mind me asking where you got Vivian's eyes from?

57. Quiet Queen - Vivian and Saki thank you for the compliment.

Shara - Customization is THE best part of this hobby. I will have to search for your darlings to see them.

I like Sist and Lusis equally. Because my multiples are face uped so unalike, they each project a different personality. Do get a default Lusis, enable, enable, LOL!

I'll second, and third that.

Ashbet - Your dolls are always so beautifully dressed.

Sienna - Vivian does not mind at all. Perhaps because she knocked around the world so much before she found a permanent home in my keeping, she is a moody one. I tried several colors for her but these eyes were the ones that brought her to life.

Eyeco soft glass eyes, color smoke, size 12mm, which actually is 12/13mm sizing.

Some people are not fond of any soft glass eyes because they are dust catchers; however, I am very partial to the quality and more realistic look of Eyeco soft glass eyes and do not mind cleaning them when necessary.

I purchase my Eyeco eyes from Jenny's store.

58. I'm starting to think so too :)

passionasfashion, I'll need very little enabling with this one! ;)

Here is my more modded Lusis (Lusis sl mod), trying on a shorter than usual wig (I'm getting this one in red asap):
