Unoas are slender minis, which is to say they are about the same height as the Volks MSD and similar dolls but proportioned in a more adult manner. Other slender minis include the Narindoll Narae and Narin, the Minifee line now sold at Fairydoll, and Limho and Limwha. Unoas take a 6/7 size wig.

I have a Lusis, named Helly, and a Sist, named Tish. I adore their beautiful sculpts, their funny little faces, and the elegant and lovely job that Araki did in engineering them.

Everytime I look at the two of them, I smile. :D

    8. Chrystika, I have an L-bi girl but the faceplate is from the first unoa freak boys order so she is considerably more yellow looking than the other unoas and the unoa bodys (even the body from that order hasn't yellowed that much :doh) I also ordered an L-bi faceplate to replace that one. L-bi make very sweet girls. Hopefully Jen from Engelmech can do the same magic on her twice for me. I can't wait to see your l-bi girl, I love the expressions that you can see in the face of an l-bi girl :fangirl:

L-bi girls may be sweet but b-el girls are cool :aheartbea

    20. hii~~~ Gratz! ^__^
      No I don't think it'll fit.
Unoa's need 6-6.5/7 sized wigs. But Leekeworld was the right decision. A wonderful producer of wigs. Furthermore the ones from Dollga are beautiful as well. Both have 6-7 sized wig options. (you can see them on the leekeworld page under wigs- head resistant fiber)
      http://www.leekeworld.us/frontstore...world&m_name=Leeke's+Wigs&s_name=D+(6-6.5inch)
You can chose one of those....or
      thos:

If the're not 'out of stock'.

Another producer is LUTS. They have 6-7 sized wigs as well. ^^

    21. Hello! I thought I'd finally post pictures of my Unoa after reading and admiring this thread for years. :) Sorry to those who've seen the pics already (I know some of you from Flickr ^^). *waves*

My Lusis' name is Sammy and she arrived a day before Christmas last year. She's the sweetest and gentlest thing ever and a (years long) dream come true. I got her on Yahoo!Japan auctions along with a bunch of clothes, shoes, eyes and wigs.

This is her main look, I kept the purple eyes that came with the auction (they're perfect for her and a very lovely color), but I picked a different wig since I've always pictured her as a blonde:

And here she is in a cute black wig with pigtails. Yay for January snow!

I hope you like them! It's great to meet you all. :D *posts Sammy's pic into DOA's Unoa database*

    22. Today I got a message from my friend that my lusis face-plate and hands FINALLY ARRIVED!!!! OH MY GOSH XD~~~
but first!---> Thanks to all your gentle words!! After I read them I felt so much better and got optimistic again! Without them the last week had been so much harder ;O;#

My friend as well was really really excited and started the face-up immediately.
1 hour ago I got the first photo and would really like to share it with all of you

Isn't it nice? I'm in love!

So now it's time to finally find a name for her. What about Melodie (german word for melody) or lullaby (the name from her former owner) or something with food oder cute stuff?
She'll get cute clothes, soft colours and a brown wig

@ Locksley: It's soooo nice have you here!!! Your Unoa is one of the cutest!! :aheartbea:aheartbea:D

    23. I've always admired people who could wait that long for a doll to arrive. 9 months is such a long period of time that it's almost impossible to imagine. *__* Yiiikes. I think the hardest part is watching everyone else's pictures of their Unoas on a daily basis while you're waiting and waiting for your own to arrive... Must be hard.

You're welcome and no worries, your English is great! ^_^

Nice to meet you, too, Gamayun, and thank you for the warm welcome! *waves* The purple eyes she came with are so great I hadn't once removed them. They're her default eyes now and there are no plans of replacing them with some different color. Before I got her she was supposed to have bright blue eyes because of my love for the "blue eyes and blond hair" combo. But the purple color is too enchanting:

I'm waiting for a bunch of glass eyes right now by Enchanted Doll and from two other (luckily cheap) group pre-orders and they're meant for my other still unfinished faceplates. ^^ Sist is going to be first - I've got plans of making her a green-eyed girl with light pastel/pale green hair. :)

Hi Eiko and thank you! Atelier Momoni made the Kokeshi print t-shirt. The drawing was printed unto the t-shirt fabric to make it look like a graphic tee. The colors are gorgeous and capture beautifully on camera! Hopefully more t-shirts like this will be available at the Atelier in the future.

Congrats, I hope you can get her! For years I always thought I'll be getting a Sist first, so when my first Unoa was a Lusis it was quite a surprise. I could not help but fall in love with her and just had to have her. Sometimes a doll just "sings" to you when you first see her, telling you you're both meant to be together. *is a mushy person*

Will yours have blue or blue-ish hair because of the water inspired name? :) Or blue eyes? An overall water "theme" could turn out awesome.

    24. Locksley, I've commented on Sammy on FlickR before but I want to say again how much I love her! Her face up is so innocent and sweet! :D What size ED eyes did you order? I want to place an order and was thinking of trying 10mm as I like Ginarolo 10mm eyes but I don't know if the EDs will be too small. Maybe I should just stick to 12mm.

    25. I love your knickers and bra they are gorgeous!

Aya your girls are so beautiful and your photography is always amazing! thanks for posting!

Your girl is gorgeous and her eyes are wonderful

She is really beautiful. congratulaitons thats a great faceup

Here is my rosie - she has had her faceup by ravendolls - its too beautiful for words and her outfit is by zozola

    26. Ugh it was snowing today! And here I thought summer was finally coming...stupid Michigan. We went outside for some photos anyways. :P

    27. [IMG]

My girl finally got a new pair of eyes. Laushaer Glasaugen for the win!

    28. Hi ya again, piccadilly, and thank you for the sweet words! :D I'm into innocent-looking dolls the most, there's just something so precious and heart-warming about them. You go "awww" and want to cuddle them forever. ^^

The ED eyes I've ordered were in 12mm size (haven't arrived yet). A couple of Unoas on DOA that I've seen had 10mm eyes (Masterpiece or Eyeco, can't remember right now, but they were those realistic-looking ones with the nice painted look) and looked lovely! Didn't seem too small to me, though you could tell the size was smaller than usual. I generally prefer 12mm. I'd even go bigger if it weren't for the possibility the size will be too large. Big eyes have always attracted me. Do you think a 14mm pair would still fit?

The safest way for me would be to custom order a pair in 12mm but with an enlarged iris, I guess. :) *loves oversized irises and pupils*

(EDIT: This Narae has 14mm Eyeco eyes and they fit. Hopefully 14mm sizes by other makers would fit, too... And on the first pic she has 10mm eyes.)

Thank you! The eye and hair color combination was a very spontaneous choice that just hit me one day. Wigs in pastel colors seem hard to get but with mohair it's easier since with a bit of experimenting it can be dyed to whatever shade you like. Can't wait to get the wig, it should arrive any day now...

You're an eye fan, too, I see! What kind of colors do you go for? And I definitely understand what you mean. Because my Sammy's keeping her purple eyes and there's no need to look for other colors, I'm happy I can start spoiling my other faceplates now. Best "excuse" for obsessing over more eyes, yes. Haha! ^^

Thank you! :) Your Rosie is so cute and stylish in her b&w outfit! Perfect clothes to match her hair and flats. <3

Awww, the hoodie with ears is the cutest! She looks comfy and warm in it. And I love her wig and haircolor!

Beautiful, I love brown Laushaer Glasaugen and brown-eyed Unoas in general!

    29. 14mm look fine on Unoa...they are big, not a lot of white around, but with some "looks/style" can looks fine
      here are 14mm SOOMs
      [IMG]
the same 14mm soom eyes....different faceplate

    30. I recently fell head over heels for Unoa Zero but after doing a lot of reading about Unoas on DoA I find myself being more and more taken in by Sist and Lusis as well. My wallet will never forgive me for discovering Unoas. Haha. :sweat Despite reading a great deal here on DoA I couldn't find the answer to a couple of questions, can anyone help me out?

Do all face plates both 1.0 and 1.5 versions fit all versions of the body? Do all the interchangable hands and heel parts fit all versions of the body?

Also apparently 1.0 and 1.5 have slightly different resin colour, I tried to find a comparison but couldn't find one anywhere. I don't suppose anyone knows how different the colour is? Would a 1.5 faceplate look odd on a 1.0 body?

Thanks, sorry to be a n00b. :XD:

    31. I have both U-noa 1.5 and U-noa Zeros I love them both aha

Face plates for unoa 1.0, 1.5 and u-noa boys are all interchangeable.
1.0 body is no longer available unless by second hand it is the first version of u-noa body I forget what the difference in the skin color was but mostly because of the age there would be a very noticable difference between a 1.5 faceplate and a 1.0 body. If you were trying to get an u-noa now if you order from the pre-order later this year (final date not currently announced) you would have 1.5 body, mostly if you got on second hand you would get the 1.5 body as well. 1.0 are getting more and more rare with each passing order.

    32. Are you sure about that? From what I've heard you can't mix 1.0 and 1.5 faceplates and bodies, they just don't fit, unless you really jam them on.

    33. I have both 1.0, and 1.5 Unoas. The 1.0 is a yellower-creamier color. I have a couple of 1.0 faceplates as well.

I interchange them between bodies and the fit is no problem. The only time I notice the mismatched resin is when I take off the wig, I can see a difference in the resins. With all the color on the faceups I don't think it is an issue.

Here is a pic of my 1.0.

    34. its not 1.0 faceplates that need to be jammed on, some faceplates from different batches just have to be sanded a bit or jammed on to fix. That is not a problem between just 1.0 and 1.5 it is just a production problem in general.

    35. *eep* so many beautiful new photos! :aheartbea

Hiwatari: I'm so glad everything went well in the end! Your girl looks lovely, I hope she will arrive home safe and sound soon!

Locksley: Fun to meet you here! Sammy looks adorable as always ^^ I love her purple eyes.
My Unoa boy wears 13mm Eyeco eyes, and I think they are great. I have been told that their 13mm compares to 12mm from other brands, so I guess their 14mm would be similar to other 13mm? Either way, both sizes will be nice.

Bridget: Oh, I love that first picture of Rosie! She looks so happy and adorable! I love her dark bob.

Mimou: Your girl looks so sweet in her cute cardigan! Perfect for snowy days ^^

feather: What a sweet portrait. Beautiful eyes!

    36. My girl still doesn't have any faceup (or any body, for that matter), but what she does have are goggles! Khem. They arrived today and I couldn't stop myself from snatching a quick photo:

She's already in a line to a faceup artist, and I'm getting a body like, yesterday (just waiting to hear from a person I'm splitting it with). I'm so excited!

    37. Hello All~ I come bearing news from Alchemic Lab official web.

April 4~15 Alchemic Lab will hold lottery for B-el and L-bi kits. As far as I know this is Japan only lottery, for inquiry as to Crescent's participation please send them an email.

May 15~27 Chibi U-noa (temporary name) will go on pre-main sale lottery (a lottery before official sale, similar to what was done for the u-noa zero but by Alchemic lab and not Hobby Japan Magazine) In order to participate in this lottery you must have purchased an unoa boy, girl, or second directly from Alchemic Lab and have a customer code. Chibi U-noa is 35cm this lottery is for painted dolls and will cost 63,000Yen with tax included ($639 USD)
I will check out hobby Japan for news on this one, because I haven't even seen or heard anything about chibi unoa until now. The doll on his blog was not 35cm so this must be something else.

Edit: I checked this years issues of Hobby Japan, nothing... not even a picture. There is a silhouette of 2 dolls on the front page of Alchemic Lab that says "coming soon" but nothing definitive; I would have to say it a ball joined doll because he says it is a part of the Unoa Quluts Series and can use the hands and faceplate of unoa girl/boy.

Summer 2009 Unoa 1.5 Lusis and Sist
Sorry I know a lot of you are waiting but still no official date it may be pushed back because of the new doll.

    38. When you Order from Alchemic Lab you get a customer code, you do not get this code when ordering from crescent, and that code is required to enter the lottery. So people who ordered Unoa through Crescent shop and people who got their dolls 2nd hand are not eligible to take part in the lottery.

I have a customer code, so I'm looking forward to how they look.

Megu-chan guess I missed that typo when I looked over it, I will correct it.

Wolfmammy the girls order didn't have a definite date anyway, so It's not that bad at least there will be an order this year. And who isn't excited about new dolls?

    39. Nicolle had the same facup for way too long so I decided to remake it. this is a quick photo I took of it before I erase it ^^

    40. thanks to both ^^
I just finished her new faceup :) I cant wait for the next 1.5 preorder so I can get her twin sister xD

    41. Quick question for Unoa owners: I'm working on a sculpting a headback for my faceplates, and it seems like part of the faceplate is intended to rest on the neck. Is that actually true? If so, does it ever cause problems? I.E., it seems like the faceplate could get pushed up if you tilt the head down too far. Maybe I'm just being paranoid?

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

    42. There's a shelf, almost, that the faceplate rests on (the neck, basically). So, you slide the plate on from the top and the chin then comes to rest at the front of the 'shelf', and it clicks into place around by the ears.

The head can't move far enough down that the chin will ever touch the chest or anything, so there's no worry of pushing the faceplate off.

    43. Hello~~~ I'm back from holidays and had the first photoshootings with my sweet melodie! <3
This is my first time showing photos of my finished Unoa Lusis.....*___*## *nervous*
      from her first photoshooting:

Hope you like her !! <3
      See more photos HERE
or on my flickr acc!!! Thank you all!!! <<<3

    44. Here's a recent pic of my Unoa Sist and MNF Shushu. I have so many photos and it is difficult to follow the new guidelines and only post one pic!

I suppose I should post in the gallery......

    45. Aww, Hiwatari, your Melodie is beyond adorable! <3 I really like both the wigs (and those delicate wings, so cute). :) Congrats on your finished dolly!

Here are a few pictures of my Sammy taken on Easter. The idea was to make them look like teen magazine spreads. Sammy's an "idol singer" giving an "interview". ^_^ She's wearing a new wig by Dollga (which doesn't quite look like I anticipated but I love it all the same). And thank you to piccadilly for the cute moccasins!

    48. Dyeing an Unoa plate is turning out to be quite the challenge, very hard to get the color juuust right. :3
Hopefully my little bully will turn out to be as beautiful as all of these Unoas <3

    49. You're dying a faceplate? Oh I'm very curious to see how she/he turns out.

    50. Yuppp, dyeing her tan to match a ResinSoul body.
      First attempt was pretty bad.. got the wrong shade of tan dye and she looked like this horrrible spray tan orange. XD;;
But I'll be sure to post pics here once I get her done. :3

    51. My Leeke GO arrived today and I must say I'm really disappointed. I ordered LR-006 wig in evecream, that I waited for since last July. I was so happy when Leeke finally restocked it, I even run a GO to get it... And it's too big. :( Cap is definitly loose and the elastic goes over Iri's ears. Bang ends at her mouth. Hair lenght I could bare, I'd just trim it a bit, but any tips how to shrink a wig? :/

Anyone else had issues with Leeke wig and their Unoa?

    52. Irian
I'm really sorry about your wig :( I don't really know how to shrink it :/ maybe try stitching it in places?
May I ask what size you got it in? Because I was thinking of ordering a 6" wig off Leeke, but I wasn't sure ._.
I did have an MSD size wig I tried on, and it was ginormous 8'D

    53. Actually, I talked with a friend who ordered from Leeke for her Unoas and MNFees before, and it seems they sometimes do send wrong size by mistake. I already emailed Leeke and asked for a swap, we'll see how it goes. Seems I got size 7/8, it fits my Juri perfectly.

      Edit: akeyaranu - I ordered 6/6.5, but seems I got 7/8.

And for fun - Irian literally swimming in her wig. XD

Yeah, there's actually a head in there. XD

    54. I have found that even the size 6/7 Leeke wigs are a little big on Unoa but I do like a tight fitting wig. They're wearable but a bit loose fitting for my taste. I'm glad Leeke is going to straighten out the problem. I hope the smaller size fits well for you.

    55. Irian, LeekeWorld wigs do tend to be a bit big on Unoas but that is definitely the wrong size you got! I hope they straighten it out for you very quickly! I use the silicone wig caps on my Unoas and they're great for holding the slightly big LeekeWorld wigs in place and they prevent staining from the wigs.

And I have a Lusis face-plate waiting for me at the post office :D Hooray!
She doesn't have a body though, but I though she'd just share with Nadia for now ;)

    57. It has been an awfully long time since I posted any photos of my sweet Unoa Sist, Nikki, and when she looked over my shoulder at all the beauties on here and asked "Don't you think I'm pretty enough to share, because you never do show my photos on here", well what could I say. So without further ado, here is a photo of her that I took of her this morning wearing her new blond wig. She's usually a red head but I really like how sweet and delicate this one makes her look.
I'm really pleased with how the photo came out 'cos when I try to take photos of my kids in flowers, I usually get the doll all out of focus and you can only see the flowers! So for once I actually got it right!
      Hope you like!
