yes Mimou, that is an unoa sist behind her. All my u-noas are girls ^^ Rue has the male body's legs to make her taller than the others girls.

crescent shop just announced it will take faceplate preorders from 1pm Friday 27th Japanese time (11pm EST friday ?)

I'm new to the world of Unoa, and I just bought my first girl here from a DoA member!
Shes an Unoa Sist 1.5 kit, and even though I'm excited, I'm also nervous.
I've never restrung a doll before, and I also know that things need sanding and coating, etc.etc.etc.
So I'm hoping I do okay! I really just want my girl to be beautiful, I saved up almost a year to buy her.

 

Laurmann2000 amazing company! I love to see three Unoas and Narae together! And each of them is personality with her own style. Bailey is stunning with this blue wig and fetching dress with skulls!

Welcome! My congratulations on your beloved Unoa! I wish you luck with restringing and sanding and hope to see your beauty soon I never restrung my girl (I'm a little scared you know) but I guess it is important thing. I'm sure you'll do your best!

 

Thanks! I wouldn't restring her if she was put together, but when I bought her she was in pieces in her box
There are so many helpful guides on here, I'm starting to get a lot less nervous. I really can't wait until shes completed!

DollieComplex, putting an u-noa together is very easy. Just take your time and everything will be ok. I found the instructions to be enough to assemble mine, but a few more pictures and seeing other people do it can help if your nervous

I ended up sewing again today .. started on a project I'm excited about but needs a few tweeks. Rue got some new clothes out the deal ... Made her happy enough to loosen one of her fist.

Hi, I would really like to join the Unoa fun.

I just got the notification of the face plate preorder. Can anyone here tell me if there has been an announcement fo when the next complete kits for Sist and Lusis will be?

I am trying to figure out whether I should order the face plates now or wait till I can get a whole doll.

 

As of now according to Alchemic Lab schedule page, there will be an order for Unoa 1.5 Lusis and Sist Kit this year. The order period does NOT have an official date it is listed as Spring 2009. It will not be until the other orders are over. If you wanted your lusis or sist to have optional faces I suggest you order them now for best match.

 

Hi lesrees! Just my opinion, but you should order at least one faceplate now, that way, when you get your doll you'll have an alternate face for her. You never know when the next faceplate order will be. Figure out if you plan to get Sist or Lusis, then order the other face(s). They're never offered cheaper on the secondary market. It seems silly to get a face for a doll you don't have yet, but if you fall out of love and don't get her later, there are always people who'd be glad to take a faceplate off your hands so there is no risk. You could even get the face painted before you order your doll and when she eventually arrives, you'll be all set!!!

Just completely out of the blue and sorry if this has already been said (thread too long to read - and I am lazy!) but are Unoa Sists and Lusis the most popular ball jointed dolls? It seems to me that they get more attention than any other sculpts. What do you all think? I know you are all already biased! I have three and am, like many others, waiting for the next doll kit ordering period.

 

I think they just seem to get a lot of attention because they are not easily acquired, and do not have a company that sales wigs and clothing just for them. Therefor there is a lot about them that must be talked about among owners and a lot of questions that Alchemic Lab is not going to answer especially if you ask in english.

It's not that they are the most popular, just a lot of things you can't find out about them without asking, especially if you don't speak Japanese.

Narae/Narin thread is always more lively than the Unoa thread unless there is a order/lottery and you can always order a Narin/Narae.

 

Today the seller of my Unoa received the money and send her hopefully soon on her way to me *O*## I'm incredible nervous. I never saw a doll in reality and now I'm going to have my own...°___°# It's a bit risky but I think I'm going to love my Lusis soo much.
I'm thinking about a name... something cute maybe food? xD

Woohooo. How exciting. You are going to LOVE your girl but remember to give her a few days. The first time I saw a BJD IRL I wasn't quite sure what to think. But hopefully you will love your girl right from the start.

Agree with laurmann2000 - they are bigger and heavier than what you might expect - at least that was my first reaction when I got my first Unoa.

 

Hiwatari you finally found her! My congratulations! I'm nervous too, just want to see your girl sooner I agree with d.ark and laurmann2000 first impression is very strong. When I first saw my first BJD it was literary a shock. I just stared at her and thought, 'Wow she's so tall and heavy! Is all this really mine?

Anyway I think Unoa is unique doll. Selene (Unoa Sist) is my second doll but when I took her out off her wrap I was charmed. I thought I faced up with a pure perfection.

Yay, already started to think I'm the only one with B-el girl... Gonna make her a MNF hybrid, though - love the active line bodies posability too much.

And I ordered a sleeping B-el in this order, too. I didn't even know there's sleeping male faceplates for Unoa before, huh.

I love your B-el too. I have a B-el sleeping face plate that I've had forever and still haven't done a faceup on. I wanted to open the eyes slightly but I just haven't had a chance. I also have a few other face plates to paint. No time.

 

I just got word that the dreaded e-Check finally cleared
That means my girl will be shipped tuesday, and hopefully be here by wednesday or thursday ^0^
I cannot wait for her to come home.
I have everything all set up to put her together, so I'm uber nervous right now. Luckily I'm not doing her face-up on my own.....
I've been waiting by the door every day for her now! I'll be sure to post lots of pictures when shes finished! ^0^

 

Finally, I have decided myself. I WILL get my Lusis in this year pre-order.

I got into BJDs 2 or 3 years ago and first fell in love with her. When I ordered my first doll (Soulkid Yewon), there was a pre-order anounced soon after that, but I couldn't get her because I already had ordered a doll.

But now. NOW! I will get her. Fereshteh had done a good job corrupti... convincing me to order her because she is my dream doll. And she was right, because just talking about really getting her makes me all warm and fuzzy inside

My B-el Girl will turn 2 in June can never be so sure if your the only one. MNF hybrid sounds nice, can't wait to see how it turns out. The Madoromi faceplates for Lusis, Sist, L-bi, and B-el came out in 2007.

Heya everyone! It has been forever since I have been here (since I sold my mocha). Everyone has such lovely dolls and great information ^_^ Well, I finally saved up enough for my Lusis! She is on her way to me as we speak!!

I wanted to ask a couple of questions...does anyone know if the Volks MDD (Mini Dollfie Dream) outfits fits well on the Unoa 1.5 bodies? Please forgive me if I missed this info somewhere in the thread. I looked and didn't see anything on it. Pictures would totally rock. I might start a request thread for pics since I haven't seen exactly what I was looking for.

 

So I put up a request thread for this but there seems to be no bite so I'll just ask on here... would anyone happen to have a picture of a Sist next to an MNF Marcia? I'm planning on getting a MNF Dreaming Marcia boy to be one of my Sist's bf.

Congrats to all the new unoa owners! I'm wanting a second unoa lusis but I am not sure if I can get her in time at the preorder. ;o; It would be so lovely if my Kotone can have another modeling buddy.

Mimou Thank you! The cardi was just sold off a day ago, but we'll be making more varieties of cardigans. :3 As with the mint lace top, I'm still experimenting a better cutting for it. The shop will definitely carry it once they're done.

 

Just thought I'd post a picture of my girl. It was unusually warm today so I managed to take her out for a few photos before it got completely dark. These are the first photos I've taken of her with her new eyes, they're 10mm Ocean Breeze from Ginarolo. I must say 10mm's make a huuuge difference, I think they make her look so much more lifelike than some of the larger ones I've tried.
