@krystina Clover Singing does offer layaway, yes. Christina is lovely to work with. I usually email her directly before placing an order (mostly because I usually end up ordering additional items that might not have individual listings on the site). I usually pay bi-weekly when setting up a layaway through CS, handled by PayPal invoices. (I just email Christina and let her know I'm ready for the next invoice.)

 

Love the two new boys, but would want to put them on different bodies.

 

Thanks Nissa! This is some good info, I'm glad there are other places that carry these dolls other than Legend Doll. The pricing here seems more reasonable.

 

Finally finished my De'ath's faceup! It's going to be my forsaken rogue from World of Warcraft. Working on modding the joints of the DC body I'll be hybriding her with.

 

I love the long lashes- makes him look cute and friendly XD

 

Oh my goodness, she's going to look amazing! I can't wait to see the finished result!! I can't believe I didn't make the connection with that head and the Forsaken (they're my absolute favorites) before I saw you were doing this!

 

It's worth a mention that Clover Singing is currently running a 20% sale on Universe Doll. I was tempted, but I've already delved into the Telesthesia and Dika Doll sales.

Oh man I am excited to see her all done! I haven't played in almost a year now (I'll be resubbing in October likely for Hallows End) because all my money's been going to new dolls. . . I miss it though.
I'm planning to get a De'ath head myself. . soonish. We'll see when I decide to do this. It will either be very soon, or I'll stick to the no-buy and order in October. De'ath is my exception to the no buy, but I'm really trying. .

So it's been two years since I got my Dual head, but he's a doll now XD
I gave him a faceup -- his second face was just kind of an afterthought....I was feeling uninspired by his original concept and the current one doesn't need a demon face. But it's there so I did it anyway XD

He's coming along nicely, and his current character conceptually has a "demon" so it still works.

@Lady Ravenswood thanks! I've ordered him clothes, made a couple key accessories and need to get an outfit made and he'll be officially done. Or as done as any of my dolls ever get.

So excited, just put in an order for a Universe Doll body with heel feet and jointed hands to hybrid with a head.

Has anyone ordered recently and could offer a wait time estimate?
I thought I recalled it was getting kinda long. Gonna be so worth it though!

And amusing to myself, I've completely come around to the 3-part torso. As stable as the 2-part torso is...the 3-part just has a lot of attitude? And it works strangely well for my character, so I ordered it with the extra hip joint.

 

i got my 3 part by accident, i thought i was buying the 2 part and messed up the numbers and i also really like it haha - but it was in stock already so i unfortunately don't have a concept of how long for a pre-order.
i want another one, and ALL the hands and feets... maybe next year

 

Hi guys, did anyone order any US doll with the company face up? If so, can you share how the company face up is like? Is it true to the promo photos?

 

I'm currently awaiting my Fengniao in Tan skin to be shipped to me, Does anyone know what fits? I've been looking at measurements but having a hard time finding anything that would fit correctly.

 

Does anyone have the SW3 body and would be willing to take/confirm measurements for me? I'm strongly considering it for a hybrid but the measurements need to be very specific, and I noticed that the measurements listed on Clover-Singing and Stacy's Pink Ocean are not the same. The most crucial measurements to me are total height (it looks like it's supposed to be approx 70.5 with a head, not 72 like the other body versions?) and the leg length/inseam. I've read through this entire thread and it has tons of valuable info, but not much about this particular body, unless folks are referring to it by a different designation. Thank you so much to anyone who is willing to help!!

 

@Gamine - i have a SW3 with an IOS Jaguar head on it. i think the overall height will depend on the head you select, and where the neck sits inside. Jag is a 21.5cm circumference head though.

The SW3 with Jag's head on, is exactly 72cm at the highest dome of his head.
The inseam is 37cm, but where you put the tape may matter because of his package. 37cm is what the listing gave as leg length: huh right? i wouldn't have guessed that.
outside of the leg, from bottom of heel to the edge where the pelvis part ends is 40cm, maybe 40.5 - the rounded parts are tough to measure. i measured the side and not the "top" of the leg.

hope that helps! it's a super nice body, it poses amazing and is very realistic. many of my other heads work on it too.

 

Hi! Can anyone help me out and tell me what body this is? I bought him secondhand and have zero actual information other than that he's normal skin apparently. It came with a head that I bought so I know nothing. It looks 70cm but the page I found said 63 so honestly I don't even know if that's right. x.x I already bought him a 65cm body to replace it but if its 63.5 i might feel a bit like a clown

That is the Universedoll body SW-02 with the 3 part torso, so the taller Universedoll body.

Omg its huge, of course it's giant. I've had a 70cm before and that was way too big for me so I can't imagine this. I'm really glad i picked up another body for him now x.x

 

Ahhh, thank you for all this great information!! I'm so grateful that you took the time to do those measurements for me. Looks like this body is going to be perfect for my hybrid plans, I'm thrilled! Now I just have to decide when to order and where to order from... and how many of the pretty hand gestures I want...

 

@Gamine - i am so sorry - got totally mixed up i had tried to buy the SW3 but received the SW2 - i had it backwards, mine looks like the one in Chriandra's picture. so sorry for the confusion!!!!!

the SW3 has the "lung" like seam at the torso, and mine does not. but, i honestly thought they all were almost the same dimensions.

 

Depending on what head you put on it the height ranges from 71 to 71.5cm, the inseam from the bottom of the foot to the crotch is 37.5cm.

 

No problem, thanks so much for clarifying! Yeah, I think that the dimensions are pretty similar on all of the bodies. I was leaning toward the SW3 because I hoped that it might be slightly shorter than the other two models, based on a dimension diagram posted on Clover-Singing. I'm loving this company's sculpts so much that I wouldn't be surprised if I end up with more than one of the various bodies, so it's all helpful information!!

It's so gorgeous and I just love the texture of the fresh resin. Hehe.
Ok, I have to say, I am totally sold on the jointed hands. They are amazing. Delicate, yet they hold their pose REALLY well. I'm super impressed!

I'll have to wait a few days with the body sitting so that I can put the head on so I don't mess up my shoulders, but I'm soooo excited to see him all together!!!

 

@Lady Ravenswood YES!! So exciting! Can't wait to eventually see what you're putting together. The Universedoll jointed hands looked a little skeletal to me in the product photos, but after reading your positive first impressions of them, I wonder if I'll end up regretting the different pair that I chose instead!

I can understand the association. The fingers are very long and slender. Mine are even in their whitest resin color.

Actually, the slenderness of the fingers was something I was very interested to see on the jointed hands. The non-jointed fingers seem so slender already! I wondered if they would be thicker on the jointed hands, but laying them over the top of the default hands they are almost exactly the same. Really remarkable. (I think the pinky finger is actually thinner!)

I think it is totally an aesthetic preference thing, and each person has their own taste. Definetly pick the hands that you enjoy.
I just happen to really like the slender fingers because I find them graceful. But I also really like skeletons so...

They once sold hand sets separately, @Grimalkin , but that was back when they only had a few dolls (it was the hands that released with this guy). I'd ask a dealer. I'm eventually going to make the same query, so I'd like to know if they still sell just hands!

 

Christina has a separate listing for the jointed hands... seems like it's possible to order separately with her.

a while back i tried with Christina, but at the time UD wasn't producing them. Since Lady R was able to get some recently, maybe we are back in business now! of course, i can't really do a body right now, i'm in pretty deep with some other things
i'd almost bet everything i've been looking for is about to materialise out of the woodwork just to spite me

i got a response back from Christina by email and she is able to sell the jointed hands separately of buying a body .

Heartbreak! I tried to order an Assassino head from Clover-Singing and Christina told me that Universedoll does not sell heads separately. I am confused and disappointed, from this thread it seemed that they never had that sales policy previously. I'm a repeat customer with Christina and have always had good experiences before, so I don't think there would be a personal reason for her to turn down my request, but I'm not sure what to think. I did not press her for further details or clarification because I did not want to waste her time

Additionally, it is probably not relevant, but I just placed an order for a Universedoll body last month... That does not appear to have created any exception or help for me with this purchase request If I had any idea that they would not sell the heads separately, I would have bought a full doll in January, even if at that time I had no plans for the head!!

 

Aww I'm sorry that happened Gamine- I know you can buy some of their heads separately through Stacys Pink Ocean (maybe some taobao sites too but not certain). In Stacy's Pink Ocean, you have to go to their Artist Head section. They only have a few heads and I don't remember if these heads you can buy as a full doll too. But yes, as far as I know, they sell as a whole.

 

@krystina Thank you so much for your help, and your kind words! This has been a good reminder for me to do my own research instead of relying on my own assumptions and (mis)interpretations of all the awesome information that I find here on DOA. I checked Stacy's; I will not be able to get the head I wanted, but I really appreciate the tip. At this point, I'm chalking this up to fate and deciding that this wasn't meant to be; there are lots of beautiful sculpts out there and I'm sure I'll find the right one eventually

 

@Gamine of course And no worries, I know DoA is an awesome source for info and advice and I also (as many others here I'm sure) have made purchases we've regretted later. I've been in the hobby for like 15 years I think and I still struggle to find the right doll Good luck and happy hunting!

 

@krystina After a good night's sleep, it dawned on me that the Universedoll body that I ordered is perfect for a character whose head I've wanted to try sculpting myself for the past year, and is in fact the reason I became interested in dolls in the first place Now I have the motivation to get started on my dream project! This somehow all worked out perfectly, I feel very lucky that my sequence of mistakes turned into accidental good fortune. Thanks for helping me see this situation in a positive light

 

@Gamine lol love that you have a plan coming together from something unintentional I'd love to see your sculpt when you're making it or when completed - maybe you'll end up being a doll-maker Hehee no worries I'm glad you were able to find something good out of this "accident"

 

@krystina Absolutely, I would love to share the process!! I enjoy maintaining project journals, so I'm tentatively planning to create one in the doll-making subforum once I begin this sculpt. I'm itching to get started but I'm right in the middle of some massive sewing projects, so I'm trying to focus on completing that first.... so many projects, so little time

@Atzend thanks for sharing!!! I 100% agree we need more owner pics from this company; they have so many beautiful sculpts and I can't find many pics of them on IG or here.

Their weibo has some owner pics that I check periodically though . A gorgeous video of someone's Baihu!!!

My first Universe Doll, Baihu in pink skin, is shipping soon!! I believe this was a sculpt designed with Mori 9. I'll post many pics when he arrives, lol.

I was browsing Legend Doll and someone asked if the head can be purchased for Universe Doll's new doll, Li Xia. It looks like you can order just the head Maybe Universe is going to start allowing head only orders (please I hope ) - I submitted a question if head only purchases apply to all the dolls on Legend Doll. I'll post the answer here when they post the answer.

lol I was just about to post this yes I wrote to Christina if she could post Lu Zimo and Yu Yuan and told her I'd buy one of them when she they have another event. Now I don't have to choose, I'm thinking to Layaway Yu Yuan and get Zimo head and maybe Lu Qicheng if I'm feeling greedy

 

i want to get some UD bodies and heads... but everything cool is happening all at the same time...
i need to make a priority list

 

I have Yu Yuan doll and a Lu Zimo head on layaway Blank Yu is so adorable and I like Lu's unusual face in the promo pics. I can't wait to paint them although it probably won't be for awhile.
