Hello! This morning, I have tried to order a BBB Ariel head on a RS Rong body. I put Ariel in my cart, went through all three of the ordering and payment confirmation steps, and then when it comes time to click the last button to place my order, I only get a white screen with this error message: WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again. Fatal error: 1 in /home/simplhp2/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 202 Nothing happens when I refresh the page. I went through the whole process two different times -- I even went as far as taking Ariel out of my cart and then adding her all over again -- and I still get this error message. I know that Bobobie as a company is kind of notorious for a lot of anxiety-inducing things, like their extremely poor communication and longer wait times, but unfortunately, it seems that ordering directly from Bobobie is the only way to get a Bobobie-exclusive head (Ariel) on a Resinsoul body. I've already asked DDE if they could place the order for me, but they told me that they don't carry out special requests like that (which is totally understandable!) Has anyone else gotten this error in the past? What do I do from here? I sent Bobobie an email in December asking about this specific hybrid and if it would be possible to make if I ordered it, but I never got a response. The way I see it, I have two options here if the site isn't fixed: I can a) order a BBB Ariel on a Bobobie body from DDE (so, more expensive) and then order a separate Resinsoul body from DDE and combine the two myself (which sounds scary since I'm still rather new at this hobby) and then just have an extra Bobobie body lying around, OR I can b) keep emailing Bobobie about the order and the site error that I'm getting and pray that they answer me soon. Or perhaps there's an option c) that I'm not considering? I'd love to hear any thoughts or suggestions on this!
As one who haunts the DoA marketplace too much, I suspect you could sell the body easily enough? Good luck!
Thank you! Yes, if it came down to it, I suspect that I could probably sell the extra Bobobie body if I did take Option A, but I imagine that it would be a little HTS, haha
Did you email Resinsoul about this hybrid? I assume since Bobobie can get Resinsoul items, it is probably the other way around too. Resinsoul has always replied quickly from the few times I've emailed them and I've gotten a custom from them before.
The easiest would probably be emailing Bobobie directly, but option c is to order the Ariel head and Resinsoul body separately from DDE through email. You'll get pretty similar waiting times, but the advantage of layaway from DDE. And unfortunately you can order Bobobie items from Resinsoul. It doesn't work that way around for some reason.
Thanks for the suggestion! But I've read that unfortunately it doesn't work the other way around. From what I have researched, you can only request hybrids through Bobobie since they're the ones that make all the casts. Yeah, which is too bad, because I've also heard that Resinsoul is much better about getting back to customers! I assumed when DDE told me that they didn't do special requests, it would have been impossible for me to order just the Ariel head -- but I can definitely email DDE and check to make certain! I think it would be worth trying to send ResinSoul an email about the hybrid, just in case they can do it. The worst they can say is ‘no’, really. I read on this thread (/threads/resinsoul-custom-options.818152/) that someone ordered a BBB body with a RS head, and RS was able to do it. I just sent them a few emails about a custom I am ordering, and they have gotten back to me quickly. At the very least, it would not hurt to try. (Just make sure you use the second email address listed. The first one did not work for me.)
Thank you! Yes, you're right, it certainly can't hurt to try. I might as well email them and ask myself. I'll have a look through that thread as well -- if anything, at least I can read about people that might be in similar scenarios! Edit: I've sent DDE and Resinsoul both an email asking about the respective order inquiries. I'll be sure to update this thread once I hear their responses -- but in the meantime, if anyone else has any ideas, I'm super willing to hear them!
Hello all! A surprisingly quick update -- both DDE and Resinsoul responded to my email yesterday (both in the same day! wow!) They said that they could BOTH fulfill the order of an Ariel head on a Rong body. I'll copy and paste the responses here. This one is from Resinsoul: Dear (soulofeden), Hello,If you can't get a reply in time from Bobobie, you can tell us, Ariel head on Rong body in sky blue with faceup $172,If need, Please tell us your address and phone, Thank you Sun And this one is from DDE: Hi (soulofeden), Go ahead and place an order for the Ariel doll. Write in the comments section that you would like it on the "RONG BODY- per Kaley". We will order her for you that way. Thanks, Kaley I sent Resinsoul a follow-up email asking if I needed to then complete the special order via the website or via email, and I'm waiting on a response to that question, because I think I would prefer ordering through Resinsoul directly for this. I thanked Kaley for her fast response and for her flexibility, and if something goes wrong with ordering directly from Resinsoul, I'll definitely be ordering my Ariel hybrid from DDE. With all of that said and done, I'm very happy with the responses I got from both companies, as it seems that they are both willing to be flexible with Bobobie/Resinsoul special orders in extenuating circumstances. I hope that this thread can help someone else find some similar information!
Yay I'm happy you got replies! And it makes me happy to see that Resinsoul can offer Bobobie items after all. I also recommend ordering direct from Resinsoul over through DDE as I have done both in the past before. My DDE order (a Resinsoul fantasy 1/6 with company faceup in one standard color) took 5 months and arrived with a piece missing which I don't fault them over but it showed me that they didn't look over my doll well prior to shipping to me. Another month was added to get that missing part. My Resinsoul order (a custom 1/3 in a non standard color and an added elf ear mod plus extra jointed hands and extra feet) took about 2-3 months total. Resinsoul had me order this via email and told me where to send payment from there for that order.
Yes, I absolutely stand corrected! Everything that I had previously read said that Resinsoul couldn't offer items that were exclusive to Bobobie, so I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Thank you very much for the recommendation! I agree -- I'm just going to order from Resinsoul directly. I haven't had any issues ordering from DDE before, but my only experience with the company is ordering accessories and one in-stock Doll Leaves doll, so I can't say anything to special orders. && That's super useful information! I assume, then, that they'll have me send payment somewhere via email as well.
DDE is great in many aspects but I only really recommend them for in-stock or only ordering Fairyland because of the added wait to any purchase. And I'm assuming Resinsoul will not always offer Bobobie items but if it's an every so often thing then can be done. Did you tell them in your initial email that you had been trying to contact Bobobie to no avail?
Yes, I sure did -- I let them know that I was unable to order from the Bobobie website, and that I tried emailing them about ordering the hybrid in December 2021 and Bobobie never responded to my inquiry email.
This is actually really, really good to know! Years ago, I had contacted Resinsoul about ordering a Sprite head on a RS body, and Sun told me that it was not possible. I had previously tried emailing BBB, but had gotten no response. (I tried the website form as well as email, lol!) It seems they have reversed their stance on this, and that's super good to hear.
Perhaps this is true, and if so, it IS really good news! My concern is that they're only allowing my case because Bobobie has been unresponsive and I'm ALSO unable to order from Bobobie's website. I suppose my only advice here (in general! for this whole thread) is to take my situation here with a grain of salt -- just because they're (thankfully) making an exception here doesn't necessarily imply a green light for all BBB/RS hybrids straight from Resinsoul, because I truly don't still know if that's actually the case
