Types of clothes (and other BJD stuff) that you JUST CAN'T FIND ANYWHERE!!

Jun 15, 2011

    1. I'd like to find a Japanese style set for 70cm plus guys. All the ones I've found (out of stock!) have been fantasy European style swords.

    2. Perfect for 1/6, but they are 8 inches long. I'm going to end up making my own, sheathed at least. My guys need 16 inches from handle top to blade tip. The thing is, there are people who make imitation swords, and I've seen slightly bigger ones sold as daggers at Renfaires, but they are too bulky, real metal and all. One more thing on my list of stuff to do. *sighs*

Thank you!, By the way! ^_^

    3. If you sign up and wish list them, Lindsey will probably put them on the big restock order when they are available to her again, I've noticed my wish list gets stocked up pretty suspiciously. Usually when i don't have money. >.>;;;

    4. ballet shoes (like the heeled version) in various colors, fabrics, etc; all doll size drum set, piano, Nook and/or Kindle (yeah, that would be awesome if they actually worked O.O), a bigger variety of 1/4 sized heels (like the modern heels of today's fashion-something you would see in Vogue Magazine and the like) and more fetish goth stuff too, like corsets, chaps, babydolls, etc. It's frustrating.

    5. Finally!!! Thank you!!

    6. Wow! Cool letter openers but I was hoping to look for something like a European sword n__n

Hahaha XD Thanks for the information, I love the European swords which is suitable for my doll's style n___6

    7. I found a wooden school desk (finished) and a bed (unfinished) on etsy ...very well made and worth ever penny. Also found chair (wicker) on Ebay. As far as the really dark wood ornate stuff, I havent found any either. I do know that sport equipment stores have the cutest miniture tents and some camping stuff that they use for display so they dont have to set up the whole thing...you can put your name in for the ones they are going to dispose of. And High End furniture companys also make minitures of their products but they arent cheap and are hard to find.
Check online under demo furniture....I found a overstuffed leather chair a couple of years ago and got it for 45 $ . Just some ideas.

    8. PIRATE CLOTHING! D:<
      I can never find any!

    9. Yes exactly! Ditto!

    10. Yes, I agree with everyone here who said plain, ballet-flat type shoes. NO frills, no add-ons, no sparkles, just simple classy leather or cloth flats. Also, awesome swords and guns--mature MSD and SD sized would be nice. And no nasty cheap mold-injected plastic, either. Yucky.

    11. There are a lot of really detailed metal swords available as letter-openers. Many of them are only MSD sized, but it's definitely worth Googling.

P.S. I found some plain, low-heeled shoes. They have small heels and flowers but the flowers only clip on. http://www.ndoll.net/skin/shop.php?PG=view&uid=8462

    12. JunkySpot has some pretty accurate 1/3 guns and rifles, ready made and in kits. I'm just sayin', not encouraging anyone with doll fearing friends to make them even more afraid of the 'creepy dolls' :XD::thumbup

    13. Dale Rae http://www.dalerae.com/BJDs.htm Has just what you're looking for, SD and MSD size simple flats. I have a couple pairs for my MNF Shushu, and they're wonderful. There are also other simple designs, some for LTFs as well, in a multitude of different colours. :) I believe that Denver Doll also carries them.

    14. Hello, everyone!

I'm curious to see what kinds of clothes you would like to see more of BJDs. It can be a certain kind of clothing style in a BJD size that it doesn't often come in, it can be a kind of clothing style that isn't easily found(Aztec, panda), or simply any costume ideas that you have lying around.

I know I'd like to see a little more fashionable winter-wear and scarves, along with mittens.

    15. I'd like to see more "normal" clothes!

All of my dolls' characters are set in today's timeframe and live as humans (even the ones that aren't). It seems SO many outfits are either fantasy, old-fashioned, costume or outrageous. I just want my "kids" to look like normal, everyday people you might see walking through the mall or on the subway or at Taco Bell. lol

For my boys, I'd like to see more tshirts. Especially band tshirts or "attitude" shirts with funny quotes or pictures. Stuff that doesn't relate to them being a doll, since my dolls are not aware they are dolls. lol Also, more shorts options. Like skater shorts, Tripp shorts, dickies style shorts, cargo shorts....and funny boxers. Gamer prints, adult cartoon prints (Family Guy, American Dad, ATHF/AUPS1, Squidbillies, Metalocalyspe, etc). Typical teen/college guy stuff. Also, more suits that are not lacy or ruffly. Business suits. So many good looking suits get passed over by me because the shirt is ruffly or there is lace detail or the jacket has some shiny ribbon on it. I don't own girly boys.

For girls, less frilly stuff, more casual. Capri pants, tank tops, baby Ts, halter tops, shredded jeans, more high heels for MSD.

For MSD in general, less childish stuff. All of my MSD dolls are preteen or older, but a lot of MSD fashions are very childish. My 30-something business men don't want ruffly short sets.

For Yo-SD, more tshirts and casual pants. Even my kids don't want to be covered in lace and ruffles. Just normal, realistic kid stuff. Though my AE Adzuki Bean will be needing "punk" or "attitude" baby stuff.

And flip flops! Flip flops for everybody!

    16. DBDoll 1/3 clothes. :P

Schemer, I couldn't adore you more for saying this. I have a perfect MSD in mind for my older teenage character, but I can't find non-KAWAII DESU~ clothes for him unless they're super goth or not his style. :|

    17. More nice, classy clothes in all sizes. Suits, tuxedos, and sleek dresses that actually look like formal wear, not costumes covered in ruffles and frills and over-sized buttons.

    18. I'd like to see more casual clothes like one would see at the mall store. My MSD is supposed to be a "gyaru girl" not a SUPER KAWAII DESU LOLITA CHAN. -_- I've made do with what I can find, but it's still not the same. Maybe some hip hop style clothes like BAPE would be cute too:)

For my pukifee, I want some brightly colored, fun clothes. All I can find are sweet pastels and ruffles, and my baby likes neon colors and fun things and loathes pastels! >.<

    19. I really need rockabilly clothes for boys/men and it's ridiculously hard to find in any size. Pinup/rockabilly style stuff for the girls is easier to come by, but honestly I'd like to see more of that too!

And I totally agree with wanting more mature options for MSD size, more casual clothes for Yo's, and the desire for true non-costumey suits and formal wear in all sizes. <3

    20. I agree with more rockabilly clothes and shoes. I would love to see more normal clothes for MSD and street wear and hip hop styles. I am interested in more funky retro clothes with matching shoes. It's hard to find shoes that aren't gothic or lolli.

    21. The only thing I can really think of off hand that I really want/want to see is work uniforms. I'm personally looking to find out how to make or find a 1/3 replica of the Auntie Anne's teeshirt I wear to work, and I'd love to see other sorts of work clothes to give characters from this era a fuller backstory.

    22. More Fairy Kei and harajuku and that kind of style. I love that look! And since I can't (or won't) dress myself like that, I'd love to dress the bjd like that.

    23. Women's business suits and dress suits. Classy, sleek, and understated. We have an increasing selection of mature-looking female dolls in the 65+cm range, but I think the clothing offerings for them have yet to catch up. XD; Unless I just haven't looked in the right places yet? So far I've only encountered a few Dollmore Model-sized options and this limited outfit for EID women.

    24. I am searching for a pretty normal jeans without anything special on it. No skinny type, and no bell-bottom. Just plain old worker style. You would not believe how difficult this seems.

And normal shoes. No platforms and no sneakers.

And really nice riding boots, as real riders use them. These do not not exist at all. There are some higher ones, yes. But not even remotely something like that:
      http://reitstiefel-kempkens.de/inde...=detail&warengruppe=Grand_Prix&artnr=23454556

    25. Oh, I would love this so much. In particular, I would like to see stylish, professional looking suits for female dolls. Something that's not over the top, ostentatious or "costumey."

    26. I've been trying to find an outfit, any outfit at this point, in white and powder blue. It seems like all the white stuff is either all white, off white, white and pink, or white and black. I haven't been able to find anything in powder blue at all.

    27. I definately want to find some really awesome steampunk outfits for my girl. Its a shame that people don't think about making such clothes for BJDs because Im sure they would sell really well.

    28. For me there are also not enough Steampunk outfits to find. I also never find any Ninja clothes for Yo-SD size and ancient Samurai outfits for SD17/13/EID :(

    29. Well made evening shoes for heel feet [ sd16 girl ]. I find only cheapish shoes, definitely not suitable for haute couture dresses which I took for my Lilith :|

    30. I would love to find a MSD sized pocket watch that looks real, but does not have to work.

And I have also searched for a Japanese Katana for MSD, and am having trouble finding one. I guess I will have to get the measurements on a life sized one and convert them to MSD size so I will know exactly if it will be in scale. The swords I have researched so far (letter openers) are the right length, but way too thick! The doll's hands can't even go around the hilt. I know Ringdoll has one, but I'm going to wait until they get their orders all caught up.

    31. This, emphatically this. I've found it to be especially difficult for MSD sized dolls, even the age appropriate wear (I would not feel comfortable putting a doll with ta-ta's the size of my MNF or RS girls in children's clothing) is nearly always casual.

    32. Swords and Armor Dresses. The sword I have for Kihona is practically a letter opener and its too small for her.

Armor Dresses, I can't find them at all. I mean there's Saber's outfit, but I want a unique one for Kihona. hopefully there's someone in the marketplace that can do that. I love Lenneth's (Valkyrie Profile) armor, dang that's beautiful.

    33. How well I can understand you. I found a sword for my boy, but armour itself is a problem. I really liked Iplehouse's Claude armour pieces, and was already prepared to join in a split. To my luck, I compared their head sizes, and Julian's head is 3 cm wider... I guess this cannot be covered by resin.

So I decided to take another road. Anyway I would prefer a full suit of armour. I digged a bit deeper, and a really good armour is exactly fitted to its bearer. Going crazy, I will try to make a Gothic style full suit out of fish tins. This material is well shapeable, and comparatively thin. After all, this thing does not have to take any strikes like real armour.

Right now I am fiddling with the gloves for the gauntlets. It would not be bad to have some ready-made. But alas...you learn always new things in this hobby.

    34. This is probably going to sound odd, and hey.. worst case scenario you all shower me with link to prove me wrong.. but I cannot find any normal underwear ANYWHERE.

Nothing lace-y, nothing frilly, nothing leopard print-y, nothing bow-ey.. and (I can't believe I'M saying this) not black! I seem to find black underwear stains a lot.. so basically my kids are commando until I find something..

    35. Is this for any particular size? I'm pretty sure I have something in my etsy favourites.. but I'd have to check.

    36. Steampunk stuff! I can't find these anywhere. Also, halloween stuff. I think I'm just going to start sewing them myself and hopefully someday, open up a store for commissions. :D

    37. Nice jeans for skinner-than SD/Delf boys such as 1/3 FDoll or B&G body. Also shirts that actually fit that same size, I do have dollmore pants, which fit perfectly, but they don't sell nice jeans.

    38. I'd love to see more historical fashions, from pre-1700...I'm talking early medieval up until late 1500s. Fitted gowns with long, draping sleeves, men's tunics and tabbards that aren't made of something sequined or shiny, even Tudor-era kirtles and corsetry. The characters I'm trying to create in doll form both dress in what would be considered Arthurian/medieval garb, and I have yet to see anything of its ilk in shops or on DoA, unless it's a hand-built commission. Bits of armor such as bracers or pauldrons would be wonderful, too.

      As it is, it looks like I'll be making most of my dolls' clothes myself. ^^;

    39. There are two things I wish I would of bookmarked when i was researching bjd. I am looking for eyelashes that are colored like a rainbow. I am also looking for 18th century clothing. I found a page for both these item and for the life of me I can not find these two things again.

    40. Doll-size coins. Like, for a pirate's treasure chest. The only ones I could find, so far, are human-sized (for kids). Also, morep props for dolls in the 70+ cm range. Cos 1/3 swords, sabres and cutlasses are ok for 1/3 dolls but just too small for my 70 cm Akando. An 1/3-sized cutlass looks more like a knife than a cutlass with him. Same for guns (read: pirate pistols). Got two, both are just a bit too small for Morgan.

    41. Western style fantasy outfits, not fantasy style kimonos/Chinese outfits, which I see everywhere.

    42. Bondage pants... like those from Tripp. I have a character that wears them when she's bar tending, and I plan to make her into a doll. But that's no big deal. I have plenty of pairs in loads of styles, so I may end up taking up sewing to make them.

I also can't find many casual button up shirts...

    43. Pretty much normal clothes. This is the problem I'm constantly running into. I don't want my doll to be a lolita, I don't want my doll to be a gothic vampire, I just want her to look like she literally walked in from outside in the modern world. Everything has frills, lace, flowers, or is old style, or crazy costumes, or super gothic. Though, I'd have to say, Pirate stuff is impossible to find, and I'm mightily interested in that! I'd also like to see more business suit stuff, like a nice pencilskirt-vest-buttondownblouse combo in a nice plaid or very neutral color.

    44. I think I've posted here before, but..

More mature clothing for minis and tinies. Or at least half the things available for SDs in Mini size! There are some amazing SD fashions, clothes and shoes alike! But mini size is limited to child-like or early teenager things, unless you can make them yourself.

    45. I couldn't find a pirate outfit for a 68cm bjd, so I'm making my own, considering I can't sew it's acruelly coming out ok.
The problem I have now is finding a pirate pistol and cutlass!
Oh and the right boots! Lol

    46. -Bras / underwear that don't have a ton of frills/ patterns/ etc for mnf. Just something basic, and a bra w straps... most I've seen haven't had any...
-mnf jackets. Been looking for 3 different kinds lately, a jean one, black leather, and brown leather. No luck on any.
-Also agree with most of you on more causal/ normal things.

    47. - proper looking bras for big girls
That means, not some bunch of lace sewed together, but something that looks like a stable, proper bra that could actually hold up anything that's bigger than an A cup

      - male swimwear
For DDs and the like you can find tons of bikinis and swimsuits, both sexy and regular.
      But for guys?
I really just want some swim trunks (mid thigh or knee length) for my male dolls.

      - male underwear
More options for shorts, trunks, tight whities, all that stuff men can wear.
      Also sock garters!

      - modern uniforms
This got a little better by now (with Iple's SWAT line and Sadol's sets), but I'd still would like to see more

      - long pants for dolls with hooves
Even Soom usually gives them skirts with belts, and short pants are hard to find too...but proper long ones? Impossible.

    48. Think Pink might have something - they have a lot of accessories Accessories for dolls - Think Pink! or try finding a letter-opener, or maybe a toy store? Alices Collection may have some boots? Or you may be able to make these dollzone boots into something more 'piratey'? DZ S70-015B Brown Suede Western Boots 1/3 HOUND

bella8y Alices have a lot of jackets in the 'boy outfit' section, plus a few in the 'girl outfit' section - underwear in the 'stockings' section BJD clothes - BJD Accessories - BJD Doll - Alice's Collections

BJD clothes - BJD Accessories - BJD Doll - Alice's Collections
Alices Collections have a lot of stuff - underwear is mostly in the 'stockings' section. Uniforms in their own section. When I had a fantasy-type doll with big legs, I made him some wrap pants like these (scroll down to see how they're put on - it makes a bit more sense) Easy Breezy Wrap Pants Tutorial

    49. well, check your messages
DATES I NEED TO LOOK AT DATES THIS WILL CURE ME FOREVER! CRINGE:chibi:doh

First, I'm an idiot and don't think of dates and answered someone that had put something up years ago, lol, but for you: there are guns out there and the Chinese sellers have a ton of coin charms I know as I've bought them from them in bulk and all you would have to do is ct off the loops. Swords are out there and you might want to think of letter opener swords or the double ones many have listed there is a guy on ebay that has killer dual knifes [like swords] the smaller would be the perfect size

As it is, it looks like I'll be making most of my dolls' clothes myself. ^^;[/QUOTE]
there are some incredible clothing designer for that around one just did a fabulous outfit for a friend of mines iplehouse girl and she is exquisite

    50. Shapeways has some great 3D printed ones in various styles that fit MSD. They are light wieght so easy for a MSD to weild. I understand too that they will do custom work but I've not asked anything about that.

I've talked to a few 3ders and it sounds fascinating what can be created. I'm a weirdo with armory, lol. I act like I'm sending my dolls off to war with solid steel and silver

    52. MSD Adidas track suit.

    53. Seeing as I am attempting to get myself sorted out to make stuff for sale this thread has been extremely helpful. I am after dresses for my 70cm boy but I am more than likely going to be making my own and perhaps doing a line of genderbending outfits for male dolls :)

    54. Just curious if you've ever checked out Souldoll Roul, and, for 45cm, Ruan.

But I would also like to see more genderbent outfits in general, including ones for women.

    55. I just checked them out and I think I need Roul's head for my floating body! I have a MSD boy body but no head as yet. I've just moved into a new house and I'm still setting up my sewing area but the sweatshop for genderbendy clothing is coming soon!

    56. Definitely looking forward to seeing what you do with genderbending fashion! Both my MSD boys have a very gender-disregarding sort of fashion sense (though with MSD and smaller, it's so much easier to just put 'girl' items on a boy doll and have them fit), and it's just something I'm super into in general. I don't currently have a big guy, but I'm still excited to look at some genderless (or... gender-abundant-in-a-non-binary-fashion?) outfits for larger guys when you get them done.
